In another 10 and a half hours, the weekend will be upon us. Or, upon me, anyway. It’s not like I have anything big planned. I just want to get this week over with, and maybe sleep ’til 6 or 7 o’clock. I could use the rest. See ya.

Alpha?
Shazzam!
 I started my vacation TODAY! I have all of next week off.
And, Clifford finally ate some catfood, enthusiastically. He liked Wellness, turkey and salmon. This, of course, does not guarantee the same reaction at dinner time, but he actually wanted seconds and even deigned to munch a few crunchies called Chicken Soup for Cats.
I forgot to get milk so I’m having my morning coffee black. Does that make me more or less acceptable Tweety’s middle Americans?
PJ, it sounds as if you’re feeling a little better. I hope that’s so.
I have the use of both my arms again, which is nice. As long as I don’t do any left-handed bowling, I think I’ll be all set. At least until I cut the grass this weekend, which somebody who shall remain nameless seems to have a bugaboo about.
But, never mind my health and health and well-being….
The right-wing crazies have an underground which abounds in conspiracy theories and phony information.
The man from whom we buy petfood, we call the Nazi, but he’s really just a rightwing true believer. He also has great pet stuff at the best price in town. Anyway, he often tells me of info he gets on the internet from his fellow travelers.
Yesterday he told me that he has excepts from Michelle Obama’s college thesis and, he implied, she’s a scary Commie. (She’s a lawyer. Do they write theses?)
He really believes this stuff and passes on the info in an attempt to wake us up so we can save the world by electing McInsane and killing more Islamofascists. :paranoid:
Apparently, she wrote a senior thesis at Princeton titled “Princeton-Educated Blacks and the Black Community”, which you can get here.
Midwest quake felt far and wide
(CNN) — People nearly 900 miles away felt a magnitude-5.2 earthquake that shook southern Illinois early Friday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Juice update: Pineapple. Proving that I am elitist Marxist scum. But did Marx ever drink pineapple juice?
My week of breakfast beverage delights has concluded. I will now return Al Franken his crown as King of the Juice.
:rofl2:
So why can’t we make this stuff?
Can you be both an elitist and a Marxist?
Hey Druid, I’ll use my time to make as much mischief as I can.
RG, always nice to see those grannies rage.
Kevin, your breakfast drink selections make you a Marxist, elitist. I’ll bet you’re not even wearing a flag lapel pin. Do you believe in the flag?
I have to go and be responsible :omg: ….. for a bit  :rofl2:
Tea Cheers All ……
KP, At least is it warm? It is :cold: (feels like FREEZING) here .WTF

With the rising food crisis, I’m thinking about growing grain along with/instead of veggies this year. But then, how do I press the oil, or grind the grain?

I’m not wearing a flag pin in my lapel, mostly because I don’t have lapels on what I’m wearing today. But that’s no excuse. If I were patriotic, I would go find a jacket, cut the lapels off and hang them around my neck so that I could proudly display a flag pin.
I guess I must hate America.
And I don’t even get any props for the Brian from Everett reference? Wow, tough crowd today.
Oh yeah, it’s warm, Druid. 88 degrees but the pool is still too cold. :cold:
Brian from Everett! It was great to hear from him on the ‘cast!
ha!
snow and sleet this morning and now bright sunshine!!!
:bee: ‘s trees and me will survive!
the tree buglies on the other
hand got froze out.
#22 — Maybe a tattoo? Of a flag? Stars and Bars or Skull and Crossbones…
You could run it up the flagpole and see who salutes.
:pup: Nellie got busted with the long lost butter dish today. :tap: Apparently she snatched it off of the counter and buried for later and my room mate caught her digging it back up and sneaking away with it. :smack:
#2 — Sue P — black coffee is much better for you from a health standpoint. Adding milk to coffee acidifies the blood chemistry and weakens the immune system (google Edgar Cayce about milk in coffee for some very interesting findings).
#16 — Kevin M — a/k/a Juice Man  :hot: — Oh :pope: it’s getting HOT up here in NY!!! Good for you for your healthy breakfast beverage choices, unAmerkin  as they may be. Fuck Tweety :nana:
Coffee is good because it is coffee, not because it is American. The best coffee I ever had was back in the early 1970s when I would go to visit my Grandmother in Northern Germany. She used to hand grind the beans she bought at the local market and drip brew it. I have never tasted coffee that good since then. Closest in my experience is a sometimes thing & Brueggers Hazelnut comes closest. But it has to be black. The taste of milk in coffee makes me feel like puking. :barf:
My little granddaughter Violet turns one year old on Monday — I wish she didn’t live so far away. The distance between Syracuse & Minneapolis is way too great. ๐ I feel like I am missing out on so much for being so far away. I’m sure my own Grandmother felt much the same way because I was in New York from the time I was 2 yrs old & she was in Germany. That’s much further than Minneapolis, so I guess I should count my blessings.
At the same time, I feel a huge obligation to do what I can to soften the blow of this horrible time for the future of my children & grandchildren & greatgrandchildren should I live long enough to comprehend the concept of greatgrandchildren. Dammit. There I go depressing myself again thinking about getting old :smack: — Dammit PJ, stopit with this getting old shit :tap: That’s an illusion. :yinyang:
Oh, and BTW the coffee beans my Grandmother bought were from Africa — there’s just something about African beans!!! :omg:
The best coffee I ever had was Puerto Rican style, made by a neighbor. She steamed the milk and strained the coffee through cheese cloth. Very delicious.
But, I like black coffee, too. And now that RG says it healthier, I may consider drinking it. I just don’t like what it looks like.
Happy birthday, little Violet. We need some pictures, I think.
Well PJ I may have a brew you’ve never heard of. From Founders brewery(?) it’s called Backwoods Bastard beer. It is so good.
What about soy milk?
ART!
Audio from this week’s Maron v. Seder
Is it genetically modified? Soy isn’t all it’s been cracked up to be anymore either because of all the screwing around the food biotech industry has been doing. It is kind of scary that we don’t know if what we are eating is slowly destroying us instead of sustaining us. :omg:
I’d better stop. I’m making myself crazy again. :smack:
