It’s Monday again. That’s nice. As usual, I have nothing to say, except I’m having a harder and harder time going out and being amongst people these days. I just wanna win the lottery and become a hermit already.

Hey, Mark Green has a post over at HuffPost. He seems to be amazed that the ignorant hicks in PA can’t see what an elitist “Teflon” Obama is.
Feel free to comment, and tell Green he’s a fucking whore.
It’s Monday, but it’s also spring break.  Of course, try as I might, I cannot convince the dogs, so they got me up andd with a little help from :joe: :joe: , I got up and let them out while I made breakfast for the menagerie.
Mark Green? The guy who lost the highest-rated progressive radio host because he wanted her to let him rewrite her contract so that he could FIRE HER WHENEVER HE WANTED TO?
Yeah, I’m going to pay attention to his opinion sometime soon.
:fu:
AAR is a vanity project for Green, so he really doesn’t care about ratings or the audience or the talent or much of anything except for Mark Green.
I’d like to get one of those “I can quit whenever I want but you can’t fire me” contracts myself. Although, I can certainly quit whenever I want.
Speaking of a ho, listen to Cokie talk about riding in the limo with Shrub and Pickles to see Ratzo last week.
Well I can’t believe it PJ, I have a customer who loves MS BOB and has tasked me to find a copy she can install on her new Vista machine. I found a copy and it runs on XP I can only assume it runs on Vista.
I think maybe hell has frozen over.
You gotta be kidding me! Bob? Most people have never even heard of Bob, let alone actually want to run him – er, it.
When I called FineWhore a whore or “HO” or whatever, SHE IS MY SENATOR I WORKED TO ELECT. Also, I apologize to all real “whores” for using their “word” — but their “action” is what she is doing. :smack: :tap: A!I!
but “coke” rode with pickles & shrub so HO I kinda thinks, after rereading.
(I hear more homeless pushing another grocery cart) Yet I don’t have my tax-exempt status to help these people out — because I spoke out like Rev. Wright and OTHER EVANGELICAL Ministers. I want in writing that I can ALSO Speak Out like Rev Wright plus OTHERS can. But MIGHT Makes Right in U.S. now.
BUT let us put MORE useless, BUT Proselytizing Ministers in.
Hey, it aint nice to keep beatin’ that poor dead horse.
Check out this thunder from down under
Talking about food crops not used for ethanol…
Let them eat spuds: potatoes – the world’s new staple?
If nothing else vehicles could run on vodka instead of the bourbon the current regime prefers.
– – – – – –
This is just as important, especially with regards to certain food crops. Rice takes lots of water as does corn.
Forget carbon: you should be checking your water footprint
Oy!
:smack: :rabbi:
All-in-all, it looks like beer is pretty water-footprint friendly. Plus, I know for a fact that beer produces more water than you ingest. Just need to recycle it.
This woman wrote two cookbooks using BOB and is putting together a family tree. Oh well, as long as the check doesn’t bounce.
Bob has a financial accounting system, doesn’t it? I think it’s in the cartoon treehouse.
But, you gotta give M$ credit that their latest OS will run that damn thing. Apple cuts everything loose from one OS to the next (sometimes just within numbered versions).
Unfortunately, Windows would have been a lot better had they not had the backward compatibility mandate. Especially 95/98/ME.
Bob? Bob? Oh, Bob!
I’ve got your Bob right here.
It was running on their machine and it was in the cartoon cash register. I loaded it on my machine and it looks like it would great for 5 – 6 year old to use
re 9, PJ, I do not think Christians should be given a break since they feed DUE TO THEIR TAX-EXEMPT STATUS, but also proselytize.
I speak out WHEN I Hear a metal grocery cart
I will speak out, until problem is fixed. On my PAGE I have even to “click” to feed the homeless and OTHER STRAYS (like also Animals.)
UNloved, Not Cared For, and lacking touch of kindness — except if one goes Christian, then MIND THEIR RULES OR ELSE…!!!
Actions, by Evangelical Ministers, and in this case it was Rev Walker that “shined” awareness to me. My Priests (back then) never spoke like that from a pulpit … that is wrong, and until I am done with certain other thing, I cannot write, so it “haunts” me.
Yes, I am in one of my “loops” .. from background Loops are due to … me dealing with repetition as in when I use to LEARN LINES — since I was a lead or major character = hours of memorization, or Danced — which is repetition of steps and same sections of songs and of course the same song…over &over&over&over&over and then some more, or REwrote “things” and so many other reasons of repetition.
Out loud, saying over and over until I know ANOTHER way of handling the situation —
I think EVERYONE is forgetting how I came here::
I was and am… as MARC said in his soliloquy … “…Utopian without a sense of humour ….”.
I felt I was included again in this society — he heard and UNDERSTAND at least the “mindset” of someone like me.
I help with some of what little finances I have and even make and serve them HOT Tea or simple sandwiches — but most just pass in the COLD … and I cry, “What do I do? How? but without my RIGHTS, I have little more to offer.. I do not have the answer except TO FINISH something …, but it might be after I am dead and gone, since there is too much to do in this society
We are now a society of Strays…
Stray People, Stray animals, Stray Wildlife.
IT IS COLD AND RAINING TODAY!
If I am bad for the blog then *poof* — because this is what I am.
That is why I put throughout the years, “I like you, but do you like me?” “I am what I am and that’s all that I am.” as a wise ol’ character would exclaim….
Sea-Ya 😉 — i figured I (and others) was part of the whole ….. I cannot act like others wish I would …
I wear my Heart on my sleeve. I will be around, but other than that *poof*…
OK, what did Rev Wright say that, in your opinion, should have resulted in his church losing their tax exempt status?
Oh, and, personally, I don’t think any church should be granted tax exempt status.
And, the IRS is, indeed, looking at revoking Trinity Curch’s tax exempt status. If they do so, it will be only the third time that’s ever happened.
It’s interesting to note that this law was actually LBJ’s deal. He rammed in through in the fifties in order to shut up his critics.
If their status is, indeed, revoked, the IRS could force the church to restructure, and create a separate tax-paying entity for political activism, or force it to restrict its conduct in the future. The IRS could also allow them to make minor changes and reapply for tax exempt status (since Wright retired, it’s a good bet they could promise to be good from now on).
So, I’d advise getting a letter-writing campaign going, telling the IRS to revoke Trinity Church’s status, and to never, ever, ever let them have it back again. I don’t think there have been any criminal statutes violated, but I suppose you could also try and get the DOJ to put Wright in prison (or Git’mo). That should be a lot easier than trying to convince them to investigate Karl Rove, though they may prefer to keep Wright and the “God damn America” loop going on.
:reaper: :reaper: :reaper: :reaper:
❓ ❓ ❓ Whatever :sheep: le
If Wright made any political endorsements from the church pulpit, maybe the church should lose its tax exemption as should all of those fundies who do it. I agree that they should all be taxed anyway. However, commenting on the state of the nation or society can be part of the function of a pastor and should not be cause for action just because the message is unpopular or the wrong candidate is a church member.
I am not immersed in the details of the IRS regulations but I think that there is nothing wrong with the ministers being involved in political activities outside of the church proper that would result in a revocation. That is, if the laws were administered without political prejudice.
Druid… don’t threaten to go poof!
I for one appreciate the energy you put into your blog posts.
I can only muster a teensy fraction of energy to participate here but visit daily. :knit:

Finally, I want to say a word about the basic decency I have seen in Mr. Obama. Mrs. Clinton continues to throw the Rev. Wright up in his face as part of her mission to keep stoking the fears of White America. Every time she does this I shout at the TV, “Say it, Obama! Say that when she and her husband were having marital difficulties regarding Monica Lewinsky, who did she and Bill bring to the White House for ‘spiritual counseling?’ THE REVEREND JEREMIAH WRIGHT!”
oh baby! hypocrisy thy name is Billary.
The pope owns 51% of GM.
sigh…
Most of the advances made in the SBR in the later part of the 19th and the 20th century probably started in a pulpit someplace or a union hall.
The civil rights movement was started in and then promoted by black churches predominantly in the south and received a lot of monetary support from churches in the northern and north central states .. Most of the voter registration workers that got colored people registered to vote came from churches in the northern states . A lot of young people on summer vacation and breaks came south to work that effort .
I think you will find that the women’s suffrage movement was also church based ..
Many churches were used as union halls as well.
The revocation of churches tax exempt status is a ticklish issue because the largest denomination in the SBR is the Catholic Church which actually represents investments by a foreign government which is “tax exempt” by default . The threats by the IRS are mostly designed to cost $$$$ .. they are seldom successful .. A lot of churches also seem have a lot of lawyers ( probably need to go to atone for their sins during the week) in their congregations who often work for free :reaper: :reaper:
I think the only implication of doing politics from the pulpit is to not advocate for or seriously criticized a particular candidate .
I think Rev Wright talked about the Hilbot in 2003 .. she was not a candidate then .
And
the SBR is the great satin no matter what Art Limprpick says .. :tommygun: :tommygun:
According to Jonathan Turley…
Wright’s ‘going away’ sermon (in February of this year) is really what’s at issue. Again, according to Turley:
That would, in fact, seem to be an endorsement of one candidate over another.
Another minister at a church in Harlem has the opposite opinion of Obama, calling him:
Oh, by the way, that little clip from part 2 of John Adams on HBO up top? It was delivered from a church pulpit. Just sayin’.
I wonder how they determine what substantial is :reaper: :reaper:
Not that this is related to anything, but here’s some of what I have to know for my test on Wednesday.
http://people.richland.edu/james/lecture/m116/polynomials/zeros.html
I read that excerpt by Wright as saying that the Hilbot hasn’t experienced what most of his congregation has experienced while Obama has .. I am sure his congregation related to what he had to say. nothing more than that.. Bill and Hillary are just part of the ‘they” from ArkansASS . :tap: :tap:
Wright is going to be on Moyers this week
I think it pretty clearly advocates for one candidate. If he said the same thing about McCain, there’d be lots of tut-tutting over it, let’s be honest.
His other stuff (about the shit America has brought on itself) is fine.
But, whatever, it was his final sermon, so he’s gone from there now. I think it might merit a stern letter to the church (let Pat Leahy or Harry Reid write it; they’re good at issuing sternly worded letters), but that’s about it.
Take it from Bill Clinton.

So re the Rev. — I LOST DECADES OF TAX-EXEMPT STATUS … I was told I was too vocal that to take TAX-EXEMPT status AND SHUT UP … or not deal in my faith, and get ZERO help but I will HAVE FREEDOM to speak (and eventually “to act”).
This was in the ’70s and then again in the ’80s.
Catholics got away with it because they were so BIG, but in my church they Mostly spoke about scripture and religious updates.
So, therefore, I am not very happy about being SILENCED because I could not speak and have MY CHURCH, also. So I LOST horribly — and I am not amused to HEAR FINALLY with VIDEOS TO CONFIRM — what everyone is saying in “their” church … :smack: Whatever.
I stick up for others but never for my “churches” rights, thus I’m jus’ say’n’… and Wright and Wright’s Church and Trinity and others are also being “looked” at by I.R.S. but me adding wood to the fire is fine with me since I was horribly, “burned” again by those within the Christian Faith. … now I have to go back and peruse the posts. :pirate: :peace: … :reaper: :dancers: A!I! :knit: 😉
Fred must have listened to at least some of “Fat Heady” 😯
Especially read this one…

(continuing) … I am writing because, as a Illinois scientist, with a Ph.D. in nuclear physics…(continuing) … Contrary to his claim in Iowa, when Barack Obama introduced regulatory legislation, he was essentially bought off by the powerful company, Exelon, that owns the Braidwood reactors. The legislation was allowed to dye quietly. Barack Obama’s campaigns are now bankrolled by this powerful, Illinois nuclear lobby and the nuclear power lobby in Washington. His campaign manager was a consultant for Exelon. They see the energy crisis as a golden opportunity for nuclear power, political power, and for Illinois to take the Presidency. Never underestimate the Chicago political machine. All of this is public, but apparently not well known (“Nuclear Leaks and Response Tested Obama in Senate,†NYTimes, Feb. 3, 2008). If, as a progressive, you chose to vote for Barack Obama, you are ultimately choosing nuclear power and the special interest groups based in Illinois.

Of course, you realize that the bill that finally came out of the Senate proving that Obama is a shill for the nuclear industry was co-sponsored by Hillary Clinton, right?
I follow The Nuclear Scientist’s words. You realize A Bill is changed in the process … BUT OBAMA’s ACTIONS has show that he TRULY does NOT CARE for The People, He, OBAMA, cares for The Nuclear Industry’s Lobbyists.
It’s not that I don’t understand why you’re not enamored of Obama. It’s that I can’t for the life of me understand what you find laudable of Clinton.
And, it was the changes from the original bill – introduced by Obama – that became ‘unacceptable’ in the final bill. Which Clinton was on board with.
Whatever, I shall just have to remain puzzled. I go through most of life puzzled anyway.
Aye, aye PJ, puzzled and hermetic.
I’m gonna take the opportunity to do Gypsy’s job today and post my new favorite recipe.
spinach potato cakes with roasted tomato sauce
2 pounds plum or Roma tomatoes, halved
Salt and pepper
1/2 cup olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
1 pound spinach, stems removed
1 large egg, lightly beaten
2 large or 3 medium Idaho potatoes, boiled and mashed
1/4 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest
½ cup dried bread crumbs
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup canola oil
Fresh mozzarella (optional)
1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
2. Arrange the tomatoes in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet; sprinkle with the salt and pepper, and coat well with the olive oil. Roast for 35 minutes, or until the skins blister. Cool and purée; set aside.
3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the butter, melt, then add the spinach and cook, stirring, until wilted. Transfer to a cutting board and let cool. Squeeze the spinach dry and finely chop; place in a large bowl. Add the egg and stir until well combined. Add the mashed potatoes, Parmesan, and lemon zest, and season with more salt and pepper; stir until well combined. Stir in the bread crumbs, 1/4 cup at a time, until the mixture holds together. Pat into 2-inch by 1/2-inch-thick cakes. Dredge in the flour, patting off any excess.
4. Heat the canola oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking. Add the cakes and cook until lightly browned, 3 to 5 minutes per side.
5. Arrange the cakes over the roasted tomato sauce. Top with mozzarella, if desired.
“Hormel, the not hot, hot dogs.” I’m listening to techwebsound, I just can’t get enough of that station. :yippee:
OMG! Bob Griffin Senate Campaign jingle by Doug Brown and the Omens. Michigan, He’s going for “youth and experience”.

mmmm. Potato cakes.

PJ, I have not read the Bill (before and after) but I listen to those that know more like:

suspicious and hesitant and not trusting AT ALL Obama. … :fist:
…and more … I said to raise the Issue
PJ, I only wanted Gore. It was also with Edwards, but now I question even his moving this Nation forward…
We also need one NOT IN THE RETHUG and LOBBYISTS’ POCKETS.
I at least know H. Clinton is a good/great debater and we need a good/great fighter :slap: :fist: A!I! more to follow BUT I have to find my reading glasses 🙄 :smack: …and do a wee bit of work — especially easy if I find my BLOODY READING GLASSES —

I’ll play Nicky Rose for a moment, and point out this Jeffrey St. Clair piece on Gore. Or this one. Then there’s this. And this.
There are many more, and I must say that I would vote for Gore in a heartbeat (or Edwards, for that matter), but I present them to at least put forward the idea that there are no pure candidates, and nobody will ever live up to all the impossible standards that ‘progressives’ seem to require.
sblueheron JFI … smooch and a BIG sloppy kiss and an endearing HUG… :knit: maybe when we are in the later years of 108 (maybe you in early 108 and me in later  😉 ) 😉

… You should be in bed now anyway :hubba: :dancers: 😉 ,
just trying to feign a smile. :knit2:
I think that one has to understand that we get our light and heat from the biggest near by nuclear reactor one can imagine . If it wasn’t for the earths magnetic field we would all be cooked to cinders .by the radiation … At the same time when you own an aging nuclear plant that provides Chicago with 20% or so of its power your can spend big bucks to fix a little problem because it has the word “radioactive” attached to it or you can push the big red emergency shutdown button and put 4 million people in the dark. and then treat them ( in three years or so) to fly ash contaminated with mercury ..
In the 80s the people who lived in southeast Utah were going to sue the DOE because their background radiation was about 10 times “normal” and that was obviously caused by the nuclear testing in Nevada .. as it turned out that part of Utah and Colorado and Arizona contains about 60% of the entire supply of the SBRs naturally occurring uranium and it outcrops on the surface and blows around and gets in every thing .. The people living there don’t have a higher instance of radiation caused diseases so the conclusion is that the standards are probably set to low ..
Almost all our nuclear power industry infrastructure is pushing 40 years old so no private entity is apt to want to “fix” anything just dig a big hole and bury it … and if a few million people freeze to death in the dark … well …. :reaper: :reaper: :reaper:
I don’t know if you guys in the San Fran area know it but more than half your power comes from a single coal fired power plant at Sun Dance Wyoming .. The plant has five boiler generator units and produces something like 2 billion watts of power .. it also burns 16,000 tons of coal a day .. The area down wind from the plant is a little lighter in color than the surrounding country side because of the fly ash that escapes the scrubbers and comes out of the stacks … I think the people in Nebraska should petition to have it shut down because fly ash after all is a known toxin .. :reaper: :reaper:
And then
There are the stories one can tell of Rocky Flats and PU fires :reaper:
Fred is in the house … reading your posts now 😉 … A!I! but noticed I got back here at an hour later than Fred’s last post. :knit2:
I have to stay awake untill 6am … I seem to want to sleep … but yesterday I was getting warm, waiting to hear Bill Press and fell asleep at a 2:50 plus .. to awaken to hear the beginning of Stephie :barf: …A!I! I do not want to retrain my sleep hours … 🙄 so I have to stay awake until 6am  I might miss Bill again
Well talking to myself so I will answer PJ’s and Fred’s:
PJ, I wonder if all forgets that during Clinton/Gore the rethugs begun the attack immediately — even by tearing apart Hillary and what she wore — I doubt much during the period is real except their own evil propaganda. I remember that time when everything the DEMS tried to pass was basically denied. And the rethugs wasted our money by trying and then Impeaching President Clinton. I now want my TAXES to pay for BUSH’s Tar & feathering or, seriously, IMPEACHING and then ARRESTING twit jerk :jerk:
I am choosing the Best of the Worst = Hill.
Fred, :omg: re your two above:
Well, you filled me in about our “begging” and getting power from CO.
I copied the above to research. Bloody L. Even if I am not using your power source now, parts of My City Is. (Some may call it my ol’ city – yet I have gone since around 7 or 8 to end up living (a short bit of time) and working in my late teens and early twenties .. then sister and brother-in-law and mother made their separate homes there — it was with my mother and my sister when I first went to SF at around 7 years.) I just found some of this INFO out — from you. 😮 😯
