I tried not to pay attention to the returns last night, but of course it was impossible to ignore completely. Last I saw, it looked like it was jumping around from about 6% to 10% win for Clinton (less than a 10 delegate pick up). Much less than the 20% lead she had not long ago, and far less than the 65% or so of the vote she needed to make any sort of dent in Obama’s lead. Whatever it finally wound up being, I’m sure it’ll be spun as a great Clinton victory by the traditional media. Whatever. I mostly don’t care anymore. I’m just glad it’s finally over (six or seven or whatever it was weeks between primaries is way too long in today’s nauseating news cycles). Now it’s on to wherever the hell the next one is at, and to all the asinine questions and teevee ads that come along with it. Whoopie.
Oh, and Happy Birthday Melina, wherever you are. What are you, 29 now?
Our IDIOT MORON is a bigger assclown than your idiot moron :jerk:

Just checked the PA delegate score. 52 – 46. A big net pickup of 6. Thank goodness the next one isn’t six weeks away.
OK, new item for the Xmas present list.
I’d go for the 1/16th scale tanks myself.

Anything not appropriate for children and needing safety glasses is hard to beat. Maybe good practice for after the democratic party hands the country over to mkkain.
Yeah, those are cool. I’m thinking of getting one of these for work, to battle my office mate.
And if we can get everybody to get one of these, we can have sedition warfare.
If I had a rocket launcher, some son of a bitch would die.

I think Hillary won by 10%, which means this will not be over. :fustrate:
Meanwhile, my daughter and granddaugher arrived last night with her cat and dog. My poor cat Clifford ate some food on Monday, which really upset his stomach. Yesterday he was much better but this morning the granddaughter grabbed him, upside down and ran through the house with him with the 2 dogs running after her. Poor Clifford upchucked 3 times after that.
And, the morning stock people decided that the entire stimulus we are all about to receive will be entirely used on gas, but not to worry it will stimulate the economy ’cause the gas companies will spend the money
I wonder if they know they’re bullshitting or they really believe this crap.
So Hillary drained her savings account and wasted six weeks to gain six electors. That’s one elector a week, for those of you without calculators.
At this rate, she’ll catch up with Obama about halfway through his first term.
Meanwhile, Obama has $43 million in the bank. And I helped!
Give it up, girlfriend. It’s over. There aren’t enough old people or Catholics in Indiana to save your campaign. And you can’t win NC.
Do us all a favor and throw in the towel.
Obama is a rethug … :pirate: :yippee: A!I!
HILLARY WON!!! A!I!
was 3-1 in spending $$$
others say ended up 5 to 1 Obama, is spending against Sen Hill and still not able to CLOSE … they are darn near 50/50 now … so lets invalidate anyone whom is voting … now for Sen. Hill
A 10 point Lead!!! Even if won by 1-3% is still a win BUT SHE DID THE TWO figure win. WOW …
I do not believe his LIES … Give it up Boyfriend  GO AWAY! RETHUG Obama.
Well, seeing as she was 20 points ahead, I think cutting that in half wasn’t bad.
A shame none of it is actually based on issues, though. Why not make it about their support for the nuclear industry, or their healthcare plans, or how they’ll get us out of Iraq, or how they’ll help keep people from losing their homes, or how they’ll help people who can’t afford to buy gas, or whether threatening to obliterate Iran is a good idea, or….
But, no. It’s about whether you should wear a lapel pin (if you’re a man), or whether you thought you were Rambo being inserted into Bosnia, or any other of this stooopid shit the media focuses on.
OK, I’m willing to admit that we have two Republican lites running, but, jeezus, we’re fighting for our lives here! Why aren’t they talking about the issues?
The only real difference I can see from the media attention is that one candidate seems willing to speak to us as if we’re intelligent, and one wants to show us scary pictures of Osama.
O’Bama may have adopted reagun rethug strategy and effectively bankrupted the hill-billy campaign unless they can execute a fund-ivus miracle. Guess winning the money battle has it advantages.
Of course they won PA. You can’t lose when you set up every possible scenario before hand and then structure your great victory to fit what happened after the fact. Hell’ry did deliver her best speech yet last night but as usual, she still could not stop herself from letting some of her unendearingness slip in there. It was a very tacky to finish the speech playing Mellencamp’s “My Country” since Mellencamp is firmly in the O”Bama camp.
Still, she was almost likable again. Thanks goodness because she was about to lose me with all of her pro-nuke talk as in ‘nuke Iran’ or any other bad playas out there. Crotch-grabbing nucular threats are a lot different than leaving nukes on the table.
OOPS, just read PJ.
I forgot and now I am gone this day .. so glad no solidarity in someone who damned good friends. *Poof*
I can’t tell, did I do something good, or something bad?
For anybody who cares, the Natural Burial Newsletter is available. Best news? The Eco-Pods are now available in the US!
Depends.
I believe you wished Melina a Happy Birthday.
:cake:
btw, sounds like Clinton’s margin may end up below 105. It is 8.^% right now What a devastating ‘loss’ snatched from the jaws of victory! Wait a minute, Terry MacAllup sez 8.6 is double digits. Never mind.
Candidate Votes Percent
CLINTON, HILLARY (DEM) 1,237,696 54.3%
OBAMA, BARACK (DEM) 1,043,174 45.7%

vern- I tried the link to MvS- it said it had been taken down.
TPM has an explanation of the State vs. media result numbers.
art, go here http://www.mediafire.com/?1mgy9ns2fnt and click on the download box on the left side where it sez ‘Click here to start download..’ and you should be able to dl to a file. If you have an IM and decent pipes, I can always send it to you if nothing else works.
Update-I just downloaded a second time that way. I think I f*d up that last link yesterday. Sorry. Let me know how you do.
Thanks, pj. 9.33. That’s triple digits!
Oh, was that bad? Melina was kind enough to open her home to my wife, stepson, and I when we went to see Maron in NYC, plus I got to meet her gramps, who is a famous OTR guy, so I thought that was pretty darn nice of her. So, yeah, I wish her a happy birthday. And happy birthday to everyone else out there whose birthday I don’t know when it is. I personally don’t give much of a hoot for my own birthday, because I’ve had all of them I need, and I don’t need any more.
Hmmm…. seems like a good time to mention that I finally met NickiRose a few weeks back.
I was very pleasantly surprised and impressed. I feel lucky to have met the people I have met here.
Still don’t appreciate that attack that happened and it really irks me that most of the people that launched the attack left soon after. What a shame.
:knit2:
Looks like Clinton will be gaining 10 – 12 delegates from PA. Could they make the rules any more difficult to follow?
Let’s call them Bushvilles.
Well, I’d just as soon not start a re-hash of all that, except to say that I was ready to just put up a “Gone Fishin'” sign and call it quits. Seems like no matter what I did or didn’t do, I was wrong. And I was getting a lot of e-mails from a lot of different people at the time that weren’t getting involved “in public” – quite a bit more than you might think – that I really didn’t want to have to deal with. I hate confrontation (I even drive out of my way to avoid 4-way stop signs; I kid you not – ask Granny).
So, anyhow, that’s enough about that, I hope.
Never mind.
Good doggies.
Happy B’day Melina!
(setting off fireworks to celebrate!)
mornin folks!
cold and grey today.
Too bad some Rethugs cannot act as well as some stray dogs.
PJ, on Shelter Island there is a 4 way stop that we must pass to go anywhere. Everyone observes the rule that you proceed in the order that you arrive. I often cringe at the thought of what such a stop would create in Brooklyn.
As for confrontation, there have been several times when bloggie folks have argued with each other, here. But, it is usually an argument, not a name calling fest, among friends. I think we must be able to argue with our friends or it’s not really a friendship, just as we need to be able to argue with spouses and kids.
That being said, I found the “attack” very sad and it seems it was even sadder than I had realized. I’m glad you resisted the “gone fishin” sign.
Now for something completely different.
Deutsche Bank, Germany’s largest, has been hit by the global credit crunch so badly that it has issued a memorandum to senior executives telling them that brothel visits and adult channels in hotel rooms cannot be claimed on expenses.
:fustrate: :fustrate: :fustrate:
❓ ❓ ❓ Whatever :sheep: le
Sue P,
That stop would be meaningless in the D.C. area. To misquote Marcello in Under the Tuscan Sun, “just a suggestion.” This area is heavily religious when it comes to driving. It is a miracle most of us live to get home in the evening.
PJ, the NY Times is reporting a different delegate distribution. They have it 49 to Ms. Clinton and 50 to Mr. Obama. Seems he took the more populous areas. She won over all by about 8%.
I think looking at the difference in advertising spending between candidates only works in some place where most people have “media” to watch or listen to ..Is their some exit poll that shows the numbers of rural voters vs the number of city voters and how they voted ?? Like the guy said Pennsylvania is Pittsburgh and Philadelphia with Alabama in between . A lot of Pennsylvania is very poor so I doubt many have cable and with all the mountains (small m) how well does the AM dial on the radio work ?? :reaper: :reaper:
My biggest problem is with the mouth breathers that are clearly stopped at the intersection while you are rolling up, and who sit there and stare at you slack jawed for 30 seconds after you’ve come to a complete stop.
Or the idiot in front of you, who waits for the car three blocks away to slowly approach the intersection and come to a complete stop before they finally move along, (thus forcing you to sit and wait for the other car to go, too, when you could all three have been gone five minutes ago already).
I mean, c’mon man. I don’t trust people either, but you can tell when people are slowing down to stop and they clearly see you there. Just friggin’ go already!
I see the AP numbers on the Times’ site, with 54.7% – 45.3%, OR ABOUT 9.4%. They have the delegate count at 49-50, but there are 158 delegates awarded in PA (another 30 not pledged), so they probably don’t have all the districts in to determine the final count. I read at TPM that the Obama campaign was figuring on 10 – 12 delegates net pickup for Clinton. Also that Obama is figuring he’s 300 delegates away from what he needs for the nomination, which looks pretty good for him given the states that are left (and then FL and MI are moot points).
Clinton, on the other hand, is saying she expects to raise $10 Million in 24 hours, which is quite a haul, so she’ll be able to remain competitive.
Student says teacher put duct tape over his mouth
Ow, I hate it when my lip ring gets ripped off.
I had an artist friend who lived in a town about 45 miles from SF who hated the lack of sophistication and intelligence where she lived. She wanted a big magnet in the sky to sweep up the baseball/trucker caps from everyone’s head. She also said everyone’s lips moved when they reached a stop sign.
Speaking of attacks, when did Sunny hit the Top 25? Did he replace Gypsy?
pj, how do you deal with roundabouts?
We don’t have a lot of those around here (we call ’em traffic circles), but there are a couple of notorious ones, named after our two former largest dead and dying corporations (GM Circle and Carrier Circle). I do well with them, because I can keep moving and have a good sense of timing. As always in life, it’s the idiots you have watch out for.
Now, in new England (where they call them rotaries), they have the friggin things ever quarter mile or so (I guess they figured if they could get the roads to within 100 feet of each other, that was close enough), and they get a bit hairy for the uninitiated. You kinda get used to ’em after a while.
Fortunately, I live where there’s no such thing as traffic. On the morning news they have a traffic report every 20 minutes with a “live shot” of the interstates that go through downtown, and the guy sits there and says, “oh, there goes a car. Oh, and there’s a truck. And another car.”
It’s great. I hated dealing with DC (you get used to it, but it still sucks), and I rented a car and drove around your fair city a few years back (like, 20-25 years back), and that was pretty interesting for a hick like me.
i miss Susan Joy…
But when you retire to the Cape…
My favorite was when I went to Italy in 1992 and we rented a car in Milan and drove to Siena and into Florence 4 days and then to Bologna, Emilia-Romagna, and Venice. Now that was some kinda driving. :omg: I loved it, girlfriend, not so much. :billcat:
Yeah, I went to Florence and didn’t drive myself, but rode in Taxis. Wow. Those guys are nuts. You know when you have to fold in the mirrors, you’re in for a ride. Funny thing was, one cab driver said, “you should see Napoli. They drive like nuts down there.”
I wanna go to Florence…I need a room with a view :rant1:
Maybe I could fly on this airline
That looks good. Just don’t fly Alitalia if you think you might need your luggage while you’re there.
The pie is flat.
:rofl2:
Bloody L, 🙄
PJ, you mentioned today about someone’s bday and when I read that reminded ME I said I would be gone to give all of you TIME to send your whatever to her.
MY RESPONSE was mostly in response to YESTERDAY’S Blog, when, some especially, VERN who puts here and in SEDERVILLE and probably other places CONSTANT ADS for HER..
… I NEVER SAID ANYTHING until today.
Nicki Rose forgives, I do not, as I said yesterday. I do not now or ever have put up with those HORRID BULLY GAMES….
I stood up TO A MALE 3rd Grade BULLY who was beating a 5 yr old boy (I too was 5years but a lil girl). (I also got my first boyfriend afterwards teehee.) This should show one that it is in my DNA this way of BEING. NATURALLY, I protect those getting beaten up, the INNOCENT, and STRAYS OF LIFE AGAINST BULLIES … It is the way I have been MY WHOLE LIFE.
MEN, here and there, CONSTANTLY make stands. That is all I am doing. I feel it is only fair for a womyn to state her stand.
I normally would not say anything … but since I talked to the two dear ones for a few quite a while, then closely for months and up to darn near the time of death … if one does not stand for the HONOUR of The Dead then do not use their name ever, in vain, again – one can do anything one wants to do … but it does not bode well.
Now also, I guess with this constant barrage of dividing the electorate and damning Hillary and damning anyone who believes in her moreso than Obama is finally taking it’s toll on me and I am a bit acrid to the CONSTANT attacks.
Well that acrid nature is fine with me to endure the CONSTANT ATTACKS.
I have been even called a rethug (or similar insults cuz I think I came with the word “rethug”) … and THEY WOULD TALK TO ME as I do not even KNOW what I am voting and “I am probably a Republican, anywayâ€. Well :fu: ! ….. I, AM A VERY ACTIVE DEM her whole life, for decades … not just for this MOMENT IN TIME. (…and for more Hillary insults just go look at Sederville.).
That’s my Defense … (also to protect me).
ASK ME: I will check back later … DO NOT Assume …for it truly makes an ASS (out of) U & ME … For, Vern, you were being sarcastic about me AND HILLARY!.
Vern, You have PROVEN you may help others but you also hurt deeply other individuals by your acrid sarcasm. This time it was directed towards me and of course Hillary. Oh, I forgot MEN have freedom of Speech, solely — NOT — SO DO WOMYN  ❗ *poof*
Let’s not bicker over who spoinked whom…
Don’t fly Alitalia until the new Italian government – looks just like an old one – gets through bailing them out.
Which reminds me. Think BushCo will bail out Frontier? I need a flight to SJO in July. I do figger The Corporate States of America will bail out the two-headed Northwest-Delta conglomerate. And United managed to fuelishly drop a half billion into a black hole.
Happy Birthday Melina! :cake:
Math exam in 2.5 hours! :omg:
Quadratic and higher degree polynomial functions. Rational functions with complex roots…. :barf:
Oh, and sketching graphs- including hyperbolas with oblique asymptotes.
Good luck, man. :smack:
Good luck,Travis.
vernon- thanks, I finally figured out how to save into itunes rather than quicktime 😀
BTW- I checked out the guy from the Hacienda Brothers. Sad that such a gifted musician has passed on. That song (why can’t wrong be right?) reminded me of an old Ray Price song with a lovely bridge. I have a real appreciation for old time (sounding) country.
Travis, best of luck. I hear you on the the hyperbole and rational functions. The oblique asymptotes reminded me I did not make it to the gym today.
Really, good luck!
I can’t tell, did I do something good, or something bad?
splunge?
art, glad we finally got it.
Here is a little note and song memorial from Dave Alvin for his ‘other brother’ Gaffney. I know Dave has to be taking this hard.

Well I’ve taken ownership of an Inspiron 600 that has been sitting here for about a year. The customer never got back to me after I recovered all his data to either pay the bill or decide the disposition of his laptop. So I dropped a hard drive into it and am now installing XP Pro. Needs a battery, I hope they’re not too pricey.
I dropped my watch right before the test and the crystal shattered.

Awwwwh… :fustrate: :holla:
Don’t they have a watch repair place at NSCC?
andy, if you find a cheap battery place let me know. I have an 8600 that needs a new one but since I am not confident of how long it is for this world, I am kind of reluctant to replace it. I think they run about $80 at least.
