So, FedEx managed to misdeliver another package yesterday. Should have seen it coming. It’s only the updated maps for my GPS, but god only knows when I’ll actually get the goddamn thing. Would have been nice to have, since Granny and I are headed up to Kingston ON for the Canadian Fellowship Conference tomorrow. So I called them up and they told me to chill for at least 24 hours. Then they’ll try dicking me around for a while, until I just can’t stand it anymore. I’ve been through all this before, so I guess I just have to deal with the seller at this point. What a hassle. I really hate FedEx. Problem is, you rarely see who the seller is gonna use as a shipper until they actually ship the damn thing. Oh well.

I hate Fedex. If they do deliver the package to the right address, they’re the idiots who leave it under the steps with a note on the door saying just that. Makes it much easier for the package stealer to find it. The last time they did it the Fedex person drew a large arrow pointing to the steps, in case I had forgotten where my steps were, I guess.
But, their other trick is just to leave it under someone else’s steps.
If I can I always elect UPS. I think they’re great.
Morning, Druid.
In a sign that the economic downturn is hitting hard among Latino immigrants, more than three million of them stopped sending money to families in their home countries during the last two years, the Inter-American Development Bank said on Wednesday.
Decline in Money Transfers Growing numbers of Latino immigrants are also considering giving up their foothold in the United States and returning home in response to a slump in low-wage jobs and the crackdown on illegal immigration, the bank reported in a survey of 5,000 immigrants from Latin America.
The survey found that only half of the 18.9 million Latino immigrants in this country now send money regularly to relatives in their home countries, compared with 73 percent two years ago.

So did anyone catch Hillary on O’Reilly’s show last night? Me neither. The Cavaliers game ran long, and they lost, dammit. We’ll get ’em Friday night.
If your morning is going too well, here’s a link to read and/or watch the Hillary, O’lyingly appearance.

MATTHEWS: What do you make of this broadside against the USS Abraham Lincoln and its chief visitor last week?
LIDDY: Well, I — in the first place, I think it’s envy. I mean, after all, Al Gore had to go get some woman to tell him how to be a man. And here comes George Bush. You know, he’s in his flight suit, he’s striding across the deck, and he’s wearing his parachute harness, you know — and I’ve worn those because I parachute — and it makes the best of his manly characteristic. You go run those — run that stuff again of him walking across there with the parachute. He has just won every woman’s vote in the United States of America. You know, all those women who say size doesn’t count — they’re all liars. Check that out. I hope the Democrats keep ratting on him and all of this stuff so that they keep showing that tape.

Happy 5th Anniversary of “Mission Accomplished.”

Attention XM listeners
Last night, shortly after midnight, XM aired a commercial spot from Randi Rhodes; she will be returning to her regular slot on XM 167 on Monday, May 5, so even if AAR’s penthouse assclowns do the right thing and put Sam in the slot, we’ll be limited to the podcast or stream.
I hear Maron is on deck to do a fill-in.
Message from Maron from the late night newz dump…
People that like me-
If you are in the DC area I will be at the DC Improv this week, Weds thru Sun, April 30 thru May 4. Come on down. Feel the funny pain. I’ll also be hosting American Afternoons on Air America Radio next Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, May 6, 8 and 9. That’s Randi’s old time slot and it only goes out to a few places now, NYC and others, but its on XM as well, I believe, whatever, that’s where I’ll be on those days, 3-6PM ET, so check in.
Love,
Maron
I think starting Monday it is not on XM, btw.

When you have a copilot why do you then need GPS too ??… Oh… I see …. to run the GPS thingy ///
I rode with someone who had GPS in his Jeep and it told us to turn off at the next exit just about the same time the orange signs appeared saying the next two exits were closed due to construction.. :reaper: :reaper: :tap:

The VOD is kind of messed up. I have had better luck with IE than Firefox.
The MediaFire link is for audio. You should be able to click on the Click here to start download.. on the left and get the thing to either play or download to a location on your computer to listen to on a player of choice. I just tried it again and it seems to be working.

From AARs email
Here’s a sneak peek about what’s coming up: Next week, they’re back — Marc Maron, previously of Air America’s very popular Morning Sedition, will host Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, May 6,8 & 9;
I think Clear Channel has pretty much picked up Nova M’s Rhodes programming.. It may not be live but shes back . :billcat:
GPS works great Fred. Doesn’t require anybody to run it. Doesn’t even need you to look at it, since it speaks the directions. I don’t even bother to bring maps with me.
You ever see the movie ‘The Great Outdoors” with John Candy and Dan Aykroyd? Aykroyd says to Candy, “you wouldn’t know a good time if it fell out of the sky, landed on your face, and started to wiggle.”
Thank You For Trying Vernon … I bet it Helps to not have a Computer Saying No  :growl: :fist: A!I!
It is the exact route — ending in a message stating “an error occurred”.

Happy May Day!

PJ I told about the time FedEx left about $4800 worth of computer hardware in my front garden? Luckily my neighbor Gladys grabbed all the stuff and put it in her house.
Happy Beltain indeed! I’d be out planting, but it’s drizzling, and I’m afraid I’ll melt. :dancers:
They need to invent transporter technology…as far as delivery goes. And…y’know…transportation in general.
Well, the people to whom my maps were delivered were kind enough to bring them over to us today. No thanks to FedEx, the dirty rotten bastids.
Now, just need $575 to fix my van, and I’ll be jammin’.
Hey, somebody from Everett, WA was at Sedition Radio today. Do you think it was the man himself?
Just saw Amy and David Goodman give one of their x-country lectures. Before MS came along, I would listen to the morning replay of DemocracyNow from the day before. I have never got into the habit of listening to DN! again but its nice to know its always there.
BTW, I figured David Goodman would be kind of a nebbish but he is actually a lad-back dude and a real ski bum. He writes backcountry ski guides, I just picked one up off of Amazon. That would be the life, writing about recreating and recreating as you get to cherry-pick from the avalanche of hypocrisy that has engulfed the country.
