We’ll be taking off for Canada as soon as I get home from work tonight. Since the 9th Circuit says they don’t need reasonable suspicion (let alone probable cause) to search – and confiscate – your laptop at the border, I don’t think we’ll be bringing ours along with us. I don’t have anything illegal on mine, but would just as soon not be without it for months just because they think I don’t look quite right or something. So, enjoy the weekend, and we’ll catch ya again on Monday.

Re 2 :rofl2: 🙄
Anybody ever hear of Salvia (and by ‘hear of’ I mean, have experiences to pass along)? It aint illegal in NY (yet).
John Hiatt is from Indiana? Can we get him to run against Evan Bayh next time Bayh is up for re-election? This sniveling shit annoys me more every time he’s on TV shilling for Hillary. What a DINO.
:barf:
John Hiatt in the Senate would be much more cool. He could open the sesssion with a rousing chorus of “Tennessee Plates.”
Can anyone explain to me why the DOW is over 13,000? Last December some analysts said the stock market was overpriced by 1000-2000 points. That means it should be in the 11,000 range.
Inflation over 13%. Petroleum and gasoline at record levels and climbing seemingly uncontrollably. The housing market is in freefall. Food riots worldwide. Even sharks can’t find good food these days.
Unless it is because Bush has devalued the dollar by 50%. Then the DOW should be above 20,000. Go figure.
I haven’t been able to kick my saliva habit. I should get treatment.
US Army Cover-Up of Rape and Murder?
The Department of Defense statistics are alarming – one in three women who join the US military will be sexually assaulted or raped by men in the military. The warnings to women should begin above the doors of the military recruiting stations, as that is where assaults on women in the military begin – before they are even recruited.
Air America wants to know how we like the parade of horribles (Roseann! just please shoot me now!] filling the Rhodes afternoon slot, which will end next week when they throw Maron a bone, or should I say, three bones.
I have three e mail addresses, and all three sent messages back that they should hire Maron for afternoon drive, or just stfu.
Here’s an opportunity for the blindest of squirrels to find a veritable trove of nuts. What do these dimwits have to lose at this point? :sammy:
In two states where US attorneys are already under fire for serious allegations of political prosecutions, seven people associated with three federal cases have experienced 10 suspicious incidents including break-ins and arson.
These crimes raise serious questions about possible use of deliberate intimidation tactics not only because of who the victims are and the already wide criticism of the prosecutions to begin with, but also because of the suspicious nature of each incident individually as well as the pattern collectively. Typically burglars do not break-into an office or private residence only to rummage through documents, for example, as is the case with most of the burglaries in these two federal cases.
In Alabama, for instance, the home of former Democratic Governor Don Siegelman was burglarized twice during the period of his first indictment. Nothing of value was taken, however, and according to the Siegelman family, the only items of interest to the burglars were the files in Siegelman’s home office.

Granny if you’re there, could you explain what is going on with SEIU and the CNA?
aaA,
Here is something on that. The SEIU strikes back.

Ralph Nader and running mate Matt Gonzalez are looking to make a difference in the upcoming presidential election. Early polling suggests they just might.
A coalition of consumer protection groups yesterday filed a legal petition with the Environmental Protection Agency seeking to halt the sale of consumer products containing microscopic nanoparticles of silver, an increasingly popular germ-killer that has raised environmental concerns.
More than 200 products — including odor-resistant socks, baby bottles and clothes-washing machines — are laced with specks of nanosilver, part of a larger nanotechnology revolution fueled by the novel chemical properties substances gain when honed to a few billionths of a meter.
But nanosilver’s effects are not specific to harmful bacteria. Studies indicate it can harm aquatic organisms. And with the exception of one narrow rule that focuses on washing machines, the EPA has not addressed the potential risks of this new form of pollution, said George Kimbrell, staff attorney with the Washington-based International Center for Technology Assessment, which spearheaded the petition.

Here’s what SEIU has to say.
And here’s the CNA point of view.
Although I don’t know a lot about this particular dust-up, I can say that, from my former perspective as a CSEA person when SEIU began trying to recruit public employees in the NYS Healthcare sector, unions get very territorial when it comes to what they consider their turf.
As you get above the union local level, it all becomes about union dues. You recruit new members, you make more money. Another union organizes your workers, and you lose money.
Here in NY, at least in the public sector, if you drop one union, you have to wait a year (I think) for the new union to be recognized (basically, the membership has to vote to decertify the existing union), which means you work w/o a contract and w/o protection during that time period, so that makes it really tough for a new union to come in. This happened with the SUNY Police union a while back, IIRC.
BTW, this is what Granny looks like when she leaves for work in the morning:
Can I get a little post-op, you know “phone advice” from Grannie? :hubba:
I guess we’d better clear it through Mrs. Art first.
So which one of those is RG and which is her sister and how does that work?
Why isn’t this guy producing the news at a MSM news network?

One thought about why the
stock marketcrapshoot is not following the economic news is that the upper 1% ( mostly the corporate CEOs and CFOs) who are making hundreds of million per year have a ability themselves and to use their enormous corporate profits to buy and sell enough of the stocks in the DJIA ( including those of their own corporations) that they alone can keep the DOW performing well for a while at least .. mostly until they and their friends can reap the last of there profits and get out .. :reaper: :reaper: then the ship goes down . ( insert Titanic emo here )Mrs Art has a wonderful sense of humor
Art .. feel happy you are not wearing any of the kitchen appliances . :reaper: :reaper:
I did have a frying pan thrown at me by the first mrs- does that qualify as a kitchen appliance? 😯
