As everybody knows, Maron makes an unexpected return to Air America today in the 3 – 6 PM Eastern time slot. So, I’ve opened up the MS Chat Room for anybody who’d like to chat during the show. It’s open now, and will basically stay open all week for the Wed and Fri shows, too.
I won’t get a chance to listen, unfortunately, because I’m rarely able to stream at work, and I have to scurry to get the boys out to the park after work, because Fritz has his first night of school at 7:00. He’s already smarter than I am (no great feat, admittedly), so we’ll see what they can teach him.
I wonder what sort of deals were made so that the Edwards would stay mum and not endorse either candidate.

I read before that he wanted to endorse Obama, but Obama failed to ‘seal the deal’ when they met. I know he doesn’t like the lack of mandated coverage in Obama’s healthcare plan. But then, it’s probably pretty tough to support somebody who is war mongering with Iran and has adopted Rovian campaign techniques. This gas tax thing is yet another joke. At best it will save an average person about $35 over the summer while costing some $9 billion in very much needed revenue, and most likely it won’t save any money whatsoever and just put extra money into the pockets of the oil companies. They tried capping the sales tax on gasoline here in my county. All that happened was the gas stations kept the difference.
And now Clinton pulls the “oh, I don’t care what all the economists say” bullshit (sounds familiar). Again, she’s talking to us as if we’re idiots, and Obama is talking to us as if we actually have the capacity to understand something beyond “taxes bad, terrorists scary.” Hopefully the faith he appears to have in the intelligence of the voters will be rewarded.

At least we get to listen to Sam and Marc this week….a bright spot. I wonder if AAR will get the idea that putting on the programming their audience wants is a good business plan. I’m still smarting at AAR’s discription of Morning Sedition as “the very popular.” You would think that would give them pause, but it’s AAR.

I don’t know if he’s got solar panels or not. He’d be smart if he did. Anybody who can afford the initial investment will get a nice payback, especially down there where the sun shines. He may not be in a place that gets enough wind to be viable for wind power (you need to be in at least a cat 3 wind area). Whatever he has personally, he sure had a good energy policy in his platform.

That Colbert youtube seemed pointless to me. So a couple of guests joined in on Colbert’s in-joke. And they put up Peter Beinart as a “liberal”? Beinart is a war monger.
