Nice weekend here, lacrosse-wise. The SU Women won, putting them into the Final Four for the first time ever, under first-year coach Gary Gait (I’m sure most – more likely none – of you have never heard of him – let alone care – but he’s a former SU player who is to lacrosse as Michael Jordan is to basketball or Wayne Gretsky is to hockey). LeMoyne College’s mens team won, meaning they’ll be playing for their third straight (and fourth since 2004) Division II national championship next weekend. Cortland also won, sending them to their third straight Division III championship game. And to cap of the weekend, SU beat Notre Dame yesterday, returning them to their rightful place in the Division I final four.
Otherwise, back to friggin’ work again.

It’s hot there because of all the engaging in excellence.
It’s pretty chilly for May 19 AND it’s a Monday. Oh well.
I hear that “The Change You Deserve” isn’t working out well for the Rethugs.
They’re looking for a new slogan. Perhaps: You vote for us you get what you deserve.
How about: Republicans: No one deserves this crap.
:rofl2:
Or: “Do what we say and nobody gets hurt.”
 morning fuckers!!!!! 😛

So Saturday Night Live had its season finale. Why this show has any impact on politics, I don’t understand. I assume that political comedy will officially stop for the next 4 months as it goes off for summer hiatus.
I won’t miss it, as I call it forced humor with the comedians playing to the camera pausing for applause after each line.
sat night live sucks i mean come on

Coal Country Lacks Consensus on a Nominee – WSJ
Both Democratic candidates have been accused by environmentalists of pandering during the campaign season. During a recent interview with West Virginia Public Radio, Sen. Clinton, of New York, appeared to wobble on mountaintop mining: “You know, maybe there is a way to recover those mountaintops once they have been stripped of the coal. You know, I think we’ve got to look at this from a practical perspective.”
Sen. Obama, as a senator from coal-producing Illinois, has sided with the industry on certain legislation, such as sponsoring a measure in early 2007 to subsidize coal-to-liquid refineries to make fuel from coal.
Moreover, Sen. Obama has adopted some of the vocabulary preferred by the coal industry, referring often to so-called “clean coal,” a process, still in the research stage, in which carbon from burning coal is sequestered and stored underground. Coal-fired electric plants are believed to be one of the chief causes of global warming.
Speaking of West Virginia:

Supposedly, per Maron, we will be doing Seder v Maron tomorrow at 11am and in other related news…
Guess the boys are on the road today.
Tom Loeffler, the national finance co-chairman for Sen. John McCain’s presidential campaign, resigned yesterday because of his lobbying ties, a campaign adviser said.
He is the fifth person to sever ties with the campaign amid a growing concern over whether lobbyists have too great an influence over the Republican nominee.
