I managed to catch a couple minutes of Marc on yesterday, but haven’t listened to the whole thing yet. He sounded (sounded? is that a word?) great, though, and I look forward to listening. I didn’t get Wednesday’s show, unfortunately. Tried to edit the goddamn commercials out, but didn’t have the patience for it (goddamn software issues, among other things).
I sure do hope he gets a regular gig. AAR needs him (and Sam, too), ‘cuz they sure got nothing else.
The dogs, of course, got me up. First to let them out and then to give them breakfast. Once I’ve done that…I’m awake.
Lincoln’s got some interesting shots :

As rising unemployment and layoffs beset workers around the country, Iowa faces a different problem: a surplus of jobs. Or to put it another way: a shortage of workers. A survey of companies by Iowa Workforce Development, a state agency, found as many as 48,000 job vacancies, in industries including financial services — Des Moines trails only Hartford as the nation’s insurance capital — health care and skilled manufacturing. One estimate projects the job surplus to reach 198,000 by 2014, with vacancies increasingly in professional positions. Greater Des Moines alone faces a shortfall of 60,000 workers in the next decade.

Any Bank of NY customers?
Our baby peregrines (fifth brood for Fancy and Groucho).
Great shots of the little falcon. Thanks!
I wonder about those proto feathers the babies have. I believe all raptors have them. Chicks and waterfowl have them too. I wonder if little TRexes were also fuzzy. If they were warm blooded, as some scientists think, they may have been to keep them warm.
I guess the next question is what the advantage of real feathers was to a dinosaur like TRex.
Thanks PJ, Awwwwww great babes re 4…
Sue P., I am picturing the warm TRex babes now … hmmmmm great 😉
Loyalists of radical Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr called on the Iraqi government Saturday to hold a public referendum on a long-term security deal with the United States.
Widespread opposition to the deal has raised doubts that negotiators can meet a July target to finalize a pact to keep U.S. troops in Iraq after the current U.N. mandate expires at the end of the year

The Iraqi parliament gets to vote, now the people want to vote and all we get is Bush telling us what he decided. Which is the democracy?
We are now firmly ensconced in the Age of Extreme Weather.
According to the Center for Research on the Epidemiology of Disasters, there have been more than four times as many weather-related disasters in the last 30 years than in the previous 75 years. The United States has experienced more of those disasters than any other country.

WTF-
I signed up to be a premium subscriber just to get maron download and they haven’t even posted it from yesterday. They always have rachel minutes after she’s off the air. There’s no way to bitch except to leave a comment :tap:
Posted a link to the show in yesterday’s blog, about 7:00 PM or so (if you don’t mind the commercials).
I dropped in a link for Wednesday’s show around the same time yesterday so one way or another they are all accounted for.
Tomorrow is Seder’s last SOS show. He will be live for the last 1/2 hour.
Hopefully he and Maron can resume on Tuesday for now.

too late to prevent Ginobli making a career out of it.
Well, it looks like God not only hates NOLA but the whole country. Although, it seems like worse disasters happen in places like China and India.
Pj thanks for the info on the avatar and the download of 5/30.
From Dailykos:
The vote is 27 votes to seat the entire Florida delegation, with everyone getting a half vote. No committee member voted no or abstained.
Clinton supporter and committee member Alice Huffman was heckled by some of the Clinton supporters in the audience for supporting the motion.
Now we’re on to Michigan.
From Dailykos
Michigan Delegation to Be Sat at Half Strength
19 votes for, 8 votes against.
Again, 69 pledged delegates to Clinton, 59 pledged delegates to Obama, each delegate gets a half vote.
About two dozen Clinton protesters causing a ruckus, and they’re being asked to leave.
Art…sheesh I would wait till Marc has a contract before going back to premium.
It’s only a month at a time and I just added a few bucks more than I was already paying for Rachel. I don’t mind giving AAR some incentive to give him a contract. I’ve already left them a message that if they give that time slot to someone other than marc or sam that I’ll be canceling everything since I’m gettin a little tired of rachel.
No matter where marc lands with his career, it’s going to be about showing someone some money.
