So, Clinton won the highly prized Puerto Rico primary yesterday. As we all know, every election always seems to come down to PR and their, um, zero electoral votes. Well, hopefully this part of things will finally be over come Tuesday. I’m just plain tired of it all. There’s no way all this shit should start in January. It’s just too goddamn long to hear the same things over and over and over, ad nauseum. If they want to do us all a big favor, next time around they’ll have a national primary in June or something. Get it over with in one day, and then go to the convention. Then we can go back to obsessing about the important stuff, like missing white girls and stuff.
Man, it’s Monday!
I’m mired in mathematics with a mystifyingly messy natural logarithmic equation.
30(2)^.04t = 20e^.03t-10
Anybody know how to manage these? I feel muddled and marooned with this one. Some kind of reply by midday would make me beyond marginally grateful.
obama stole my shoe……… :fire:
Grrr! I wanted to be first!
Hey, Sean! Quick, copy my post and make it number one. I’ll do the same to yours only it’ll be number two.

:banana: good trade there buddy 😛
change three so no one knows whats going on here uhhhh to confuse people
Sweet beans! :banana:
What? Why?
:tap:
There is no need to confuse me because I am naturally confused
This is my last week before summer vacation. It’s only a three day week, too.
Does anyone have Friday’s show with Marc? Those f*ckers at AAR haven’t put it up on the podcasts. :fu: Air America.
For future reference, when you fall down and slam your hand into a stone post fingernail-first, the fingernail usually loses. Or at least it did in my case.
I sort of have it strapped back on to protect the area underneath it, but it was fun on Saturday morning watching the little fella swing merrily in the breeze completely detached on three sides and dripping blood. Happy breakfast, everybody!
It should be interesting today trying to key with this little finger-tampon thing I have rigged up. Plus I guess the salad bar is not an option at lunch. Or at least it won’t be for everyone else if I get there first.
:barf:
Jill, see comment 31 on Friday evening, about 7:00.
Kevin. Ouch. Sounds like the Poultrygeists.
Speaking of which (sorta), chopper incoming. Somebody’s had a bad morning.
I need some magical mathematical genius, PJ!
I’ll just have to settle with mediocrity.
Lately I’ve been obsessed with words starting with m and Ukuleles

Sorry, I don’t remember anything about those logarithmic equations, Travis. I know there’s some sorta trick to simplifying them, but I don’t even remember learning about them (if I ever did), let alone how to do them.

🙁 :gate:
No matter. It’s one of only a few problems that I’ve looked at that I can’t figure out. I’m sure it’s something simple that I’m not seeing. I can do these continuous compounded interest problems easily though
600e^.05t=800
600/600e^.05t=800/600
e^.05t=4/3
(ln)e^.05t= (ln)4/3
.05t=(ln)4/3
t= [(ln)4/3]/.05
The trouble that I’m having is with the variables of t being on both sides of the equation in the exponential quantity. If I knew how to make the base the same on each side I think I might be able to figure it out. I guess I’ll just have to hold out until class tonight.

Kelsey Grammar likes to keep up with the artnortons
http://www.mail.com/Article.aspx?articlepath=APNews/General%20Entertainment/20080602/People_Kelsey_Grammer_20080602.xml&cat=entertainment&subcat=&pageid=1
I’m glad Kelsey Grammar is doing well. How are you doing Artnorton? Are you back tp normal?
I’m doing fine Sue P, thanks for asking. Feel a little better than before. The scariest part was the bill. If my company didn’t have good health insurance it would have been like being forced to buy a really expensive German car that I’d never drive. It really brought home to me how importent it is that everybody have the same coverage :tap:

Barry Lank :cake: :sammy:
So, this is pretty cool. Not real, but cool.
The ANSWER is
t= (ln(1.5)+10) / (0.03-0.04*ln(2))
if the -10 is in the exponent, otherwise it is a transcendental
ln = natural log
To me, healthcare is the mot important issue in this campaign. Not only is it the moral and compassionate thing to do, but it affects our ability to compete internationally.
I cannot understand the people who think that a government run system could possibly be worse than the one we have now.
or t = 4575, approximately

mastery… sorta
30(2)^.04t = 20e^.03t-10
30/20(2)^.04t = 20/20e^.03t-10
(3/2)(2)^.04t = e^.03t-10
ln(3/2)(2)^.04t = (ln)e^.03t-10
ln(3/2)+(ln 2)(.04t) = .03t-10
ln(3/2)+(ln 2)(.04t)-.03t = .03t-10-.03t
ln(3/2)+(ln 2)(.04t)-.03t = -10
ln(3/2)+(ln 2)(.04t)-.03t-ln(3/2) = -10-ln(3/2)
ln(2)(.04t)-.03t= -10-ln(3/2)
t ln(2)(.04)-.03]/(ln 2)(.04)-.03 = -10-ln(3/2)]/(ln 2)(.04)-.03
t= -10-ln(3/2)/(ln 2)(.04)-.03
Then reduce. Blah, blah… then blamo, final answer!
Thanks Hubble!
