I really have nothing to say today, because it’s too goddamn hot. Record heat yesterday, and no relief on the way anytime soon.
:hot:
This sucks.

This sucks.
That heat wave is supposed to be headed in my direction, but, right now, it’s quite cool.
Current temp 82, feels like 84 — humidity 60 %. Ugh. :hot:
Hope you’ll be able to spend the weekend out at Shelter Island, SueP, and that there’s a nice breeze off the water! 😀
Dogs got me up way too early. Fritz ended up making a very messy poo in the house :yuck: :barf: :yuck: :smack: Not a great way to start the day.
Well, maybe some :joe: will help.

I just figured out who McCain reminds me of. Hank Hill’s father, Cotton.
:hot: Morning all,
We’ve got 93% humididty down here. I don’t know if I’ll be able to keep the computer running much longer.
:hot:
File under “Thanks George!”
CHICAGO — Fewer roads will be repaved this summer, thanks to soaring prices of oil-based asphalt.
Some states, cities and counties say their road-repair budgets didn’t anticipate asphalt prices that are up 25.9% from a year ago, so they’re being forced to delay projects.
Good Morning, Dru :pent:
Very sad about the Carribean monk seal extinction 😥 :reaper: — another species leaves the planet 😥 🙁
—————————————
Cotton McCain — Gosh, I wonder if the King of the Hill writers used McCain as the inspiration for the Cotton character — this wikipedia description of Cotton’s personality sure sounds like McCain 😮
:omg:
The most outstanding thing about McInsane is his color. His hair is silvery white, his skin is pasty white and his teeth are yellow.
He looks preserved….formaldehyde preserved.
One thing is certain, green is not his color.
Bile green is definitely not his color. But he sure smiled a lot — I wonder if he just got back from the dentist & having his yellow teeth whitened some. Creepy smiles — creepy & forced. Lotta blinking, too. 👿
That’s terrible, Druid, that there is yet another extinction on this planet. It’s pretty discouraging. Especially as these extinctions are usually the result of some money making scheme.
Hey, Andy — Hope you have a fan to keep you cool! We are staying holed up in the basement with the doggies :pup: :pup: :cat: :cat: as long as we can.
:hot:
A puppy would definitely help.

No thanks. I love animals too much to subject one to living with me. Not to mention that I usually have enough trouble cleaning up after myself, and it would be intimidating for me to share living space with someone who makes less of a mess than I do.
He did look as if he were smiling on cue. The teleprompter probably read: That is not change we can believe in. (SMILE). Or maybe someone had a cattle prod in back of him because that smile looked more pained than pleased.
I just figured out who McCain reminds me of. Hank Hill’s father, Cotton.

That’s perfect. It explains the anger-management issues, not to mention McCain’s lack of height. He used to be taller, but lost his shins in the war.
:rofl2:
:rofl2: :rofl2: Cattle prod! Yup, that would explain the “smile” and maybe all the blinking too!
Kevin, you don’t have to go get a dog, just borrow somebody else’s. Of course, you should borrow the same dog every time you go to the park, because if you show up with a different one every time, people will think you’re Fristing them.
Hey, Andy, another 7% humidity, and you’ll need to break out the diving gear.
Because the Democrats control Congress, they plan to confront McCain with a series of tough economic votes in the coming weeks.
“Senator McCain is going to be faced with some difficult votes,” said Senate Majority Whip Richard Durbin (D-Ill.), a key Obama ally. “He has supported the Bush economic policies, and that will put him on the wrong side of some important economic issues in the coming weeks.”
As soon as next week, the House and Senate will vote on a 13-week extension of unemployment benefits, either as part of a war funding bill or as stand-alone legislation. White House spokesman Tony Fratto said yesterday that “the federal government has never in history extended unemployment benefits with the unemployment rate this low.”
The Senate next week will take up a package of measures to address soaring gasoline prices. Before the Fourth of July recess, Democratic leaders hope to pass a House-Senate compromise expanding federal assistance to homeowners facing foreclosure. And a second economic stimulus package is expected to be ready in July.

Re 4 :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:
You know, me and my friend saw him and Cindy eating at Katz’s Deli on Mothers day a couple of years ago. He’s not white, he’s TRANSPARENT and ghostly.
And I’m not sure how anyone except an albino or a vampire stays so damned white down here. :omg:
Poor Lincoln got harassed and surrounded by the Metropolitan Opera guards and the NYPD. He was photographing Palemale and Lola, while they were stopping terra-ism.

Hey, KP, did you see McCain pay at the deli? Just wondering if he keeps his wallet in his cheek pouch.
85 degrees already, with a dew point of 67. 70 is when it officially becomes disgustingly miserable.
Other activists might devote their time to reversing global warming or saving the whales. But the 73-year-old attorney is battling to preserve a commodity that he says is more fragile than the environment and more precious than oil — time.
Cahn is a leader in the “slow movement,” a national campaign that claims that speed kills. Its leaders say that Americans are so starved for time, our need for speed is destroying our health, families and communities.
Re 23 😆 No, but we had fun making up a comic book fantasy fight with Cindy. You know, she wears a lot of leather.
Jim McKay, Longtime ABC Sportscaster, Is Dead
Rare sportscaster who did not attend Syracuse
🙁 :gate:
Ooh, leather. In Arizona, no less. I bet Johnny wears shrink rubber tubing under his clothes, and when they get home she does unspeakable things to him, because after ‘nam, he’s unable to get off without pain and humiliation.
Aw, I always liked Jim McKay, even though he was one of the eight or so sportscasters who didn’t go to SU.
Re 27
I don’t think you’re exaggerating, PJ. :hubba: :yuck:
Now I have that Zappa song, Crew Slut, running around in my head.
I wonder if Cindy has a Telefunken U 47?
I did not get to go to sleep before running out of Time — cuz I am waiting … to hear :ear: Sen. Hillary R. Clinton 8) ……
Hey Granny, I’ve got central air but I try not to run it.
Kevin GET A RAT! THEY ARE SO PERFECT! You can carry them around your neck or in you (Large) Pockets.
I thought I could never love RATS, especially a rat’s tail…, but almost immediately I fell in  , you can take in stores … and also a “male or female” bab magnet ……… Two Rats (not 7 😉 LBH ) are PERFECT and Tiny compared to a dog — and could be attentive like a dog (moreso than a cat).
:pirate: A!I!V!
Hillary’s giving a great speech. She should either be on the ticket or Senate Majority Leader.
oops 😳 my bad  re 16 ya need a dog to go to a dog run
— you could be a part-time “dog walker” :pup: :hubba:
Hillary did a great job. Thank you, Hillary.

Peter. B Collins was there yesterday and live today with Rather, Arianna  :hubba: :hot: , Naomi Klein  :hubba: :hot: and more.
Podcasts should be at Green 960> He has a pretty good show. I think even fred liked him.
I used to listen to him. He looks kinda like Frasier Crane.

I was sad when Peter B. left KPHX. I like Jeff alot and I like that he’s local. They’re both nice guys.
Figured I’d go out and fill up the gas tank before the price gets any higher. At the Mobil closest to me, the price is now $4.239. 😮
Down the road at the Delta Sonic, it’s a mere $4.099. The beer’s cheaper, too. :40:
Sue P Lincoln’s Pixs & Tale was grand — especially since he had victory over NYPD & MO SEC :pirate: :parrot:
GAS is “around” $5.00 here in Northern California :omg: … $5 plus for Diesel :omg:
But it is “all relative” … “The Song Remains The Same” 🙄

We’ve been pretty lucky with the heat here in Phuckin’ Phoenix. Except for that one week it was 110-112 degrees and I was tiling and grouting in it. :hot: And the lesbians were SUPER micromanagey that week too. :fustrate: It got to 101 today and the pool temp is at a refreshing 78 degrees. 8)
