Even four days this week were too goddamn many. I can’t wait to get today over with. I sure picked a lousy time to quit sniffing glue.

First again? That’s OK, because I promise you I won’t be tomorrow.
If anyone missed Rachel hosting the KO show- not only am I so, so glad to see her becoming more and more visable in msm, but I had never heard of Rosa Brooks- she had a real Molly Ivins vibe to her that I really enjoyed.

Art, thanks for the reminder. I need to check out the LA Times website for more info on Rosa Brooks. Smart, funny and kinda hot in a cougarish sense. :hubba:
Let me put it on the line, which is not hard. Andy Borowitz is pathetic as a satire writer, which is why Thom Hartmann likes him so much. However David Rees is unstoppable.

I did a little research on Rosa- she’s the daughter of Barbara Erienrich (sp) and is a law professor at GeorgeTown. Graduated from Harvard and Oxford. Could we really be attracted to a woman with more brains than I’ve got in my little finger and a tooth gap wider than Letterman’s? Would that be so wrong? :hubba:
Plus it was really courageous of her not to give up her seat on that bus.
Bush administration officials knew that a Texas oil company with close ties to President Bush was planning to sign an oil deal with the regional Kurdistan government that ran counter to American policy and undercut Iraq’s central government, a Congressional committee has concluded.
snip
United States policy is to warn companies that they incur risks in signing contracts until Iraq passes an oil law and to strengthen Iraq’s central government. The Kurdistan deal, by ceding responsibility for writing contracts directly to a regional government, infuriated Iraqi officials. But State Department officials did nothing to discourage the deal and in some cases appeared to welcome it, the documents show.
The company, Hunt Oil of Dallas, signed the deal with Kurdistan’s semiautonomous government last September. Its chief executive, Ray L. Hunt, a close political ally of President Bush, briefed an advisory board to Mr. Bush on his contacts with Kurdish officials before the deal was signed.

I’m confused. I thought we wanted to bing freedom to Iraq, not Bushco Oil .
