It’s been really friggin’ hot here lately. Too damn hot, and too damn humid. Another hot day due today, with a slight relief tomorrow. Yes, I’m stooping to talking about the weather. Sad, indeed.

Sounds good, but why limit it to flights? Every ‘merican should be forced to wear on 24/7. That way, they can keep track of where you are, and if you get out of line, you get a “time out” zap.
Hey, if you’ve got nothing to hide….
Hey everyone! I’ll be around this weekend. Probably Saturday or catch me on skype. Interested in what others think about this story.
Now this is funny.
Personally, I could never worship a being, supreme or not, who chooses George W. Bush to be president.
Having said that, atheists are discriminated against in pretty much all walks of society. I could never run for political office, not that I would want to anyway.
Of course, my chances of being shot or left for dead due to my lack of religion are a lot less as a civilian.
Now this is funny.

GOP Senator In Minn. Faces Colorful Challengers
by David Welna
Morning Edition, July 9, 2008 · One vulnerable senator up for re-election this year is Republican Norm Coleman of Minnesota. A longtime supporter of President Bush and the war in Iraq, he’s trying to move away from those positions. His Democratic opponent comedian Al Franken is well-financed but has a history of saying and writing politically incorrect things. And there’s another possible contender: former Minnesota governor and professional wrestler Jesse Ventura.

BUBBA WARNS OF POW ‘ANGER’

Former President Bill Clinton told an audience that POWs often suffer “anger” long after the incident – which some took as a swipe at Vietnam vet and presumptive GOP presidential nominee John McCain.
Clinton made the remarks during a speech at the Aspen Ideas Festival on Saturday in Colorado, where he described former South African President Nelson Mandela’s forgiveness of his captors.
According to The Atlantic, Clinton said, “If you know anybody who was a POW for any length of time, you will see you go along for months or maybe even years and then something will happen and it will trigger all those bad dreams and it will come back.”
McCain spent more than five years in captivity.
The Bushies, not having destroyed enough, have allowed the military to become an army of very unchristian Christians. That is very scary.
Being an atheist has always been scary. I come from generations of atheists and learned very young not to talk about it. If someone asks my religion I say that I have none and that always prompts some variation of the question, “What would you have been, if you weren’t an atheist.”
When my kids were young, some people would tell me that they needed a religion in order to learn morality. Of course the assumption is that atheists are not moral. So, I guess it takes an atheist to torture prisoners, prosecute innocents for political advantage, destroy the environment, allow the less fortunate to go without shelter and healthcare.
Thank goodness we had the very religious Chimpy and Co. to spare us those things.

I wonder if you all would google kristalynnpeterson.com and click on the ceramic link(not glaze finishes, although, you could and let me know what comes up with that) and let me know if the welcome page has a bluish texture pattern as opposed to a mustardy/tan texture. And then try this link http://www.kristalynnpeterson.com/Site%203/Welcome.html and tell me if it’s the same. Sorry if it sounds complicated.
OBAMA JUST VOTED (a few ago now) AYE ON FISA {then BOXER Nay}… But keep voting for a rethug … again …. :pirate: :reaper: :dancers:
Hill is a Dem ALWAYS ( a bit too conservative DEM)– not a RETHUG-ite like Obama…
…or PJ did I get it wrong again ?… it was suppose to be that Friday … but although Obama gave his “views”, in truth it was not voted upon. THEN I HEARD IT WAS Yesterday the vote was to be,
but in truth i see it NOW is happening Today, Wednesday. :growl:
I think the FISA bill is disgusting. But, as for Obama, we are voting for the better candidate, not the perfect candidate. There is too much at stake: the climate, the Supreme Cout, Social Security and war with Iran, to name just a few.
KP, the first listing on the google search was something about kitchen renovations. The second was your site and under ceramics were pictures of your pottery. The color was light brown, clinking on your link brought up a home page, but I didn’t see a “ceramic button.” I hope that’s helpful.
There were votes on three amendments to FISA today, to strip the bill of immunity for telcos. The best of the amendments failed by the widest of margins: 66-32. The other failed, but were closer. Here are the 32 “good guys” who voted “Yea” (to strip immunity from the bill):
Akaka (D-HI)
Baucus (D-MT)
Biden (D-DE)
Bingaman (D-NM)
Boxer (D-CA)
Brown (D-OH)
Byrd (D-WV)
Cantwell (D-WA)
Cardin (D-MD)
Casey (D-PA)
Clinton (D-NY)
Dodd (D-CT)
Dorgan (D-ND)
Durbin (D-IL)
Feingold (D-WI)
Harkin (D-IA)
Kerry (D-MA)
Klobuchar (D-MN)
Lautenberg (D-NJ)
Leahy (D-VT)
Levin (D-MI)
Menendez (D-NJ)
Murray (D-WA)
Obama (D-IL)
Reed (D-RI)
Reid (D-NV)
Sanders (I-VT)
Schumer (D-NY)
Stabenow (D-MI)
Tester (D-MT)
Whitehouse (D-RI)
Wyden (D-OR)
McCain was too gutless to vote either way.
I have been SOLELY “beating the streets” for DEM’s since 14 (became “aware” at 13) . I cannot believe this DEM party… ever again. I am done.
He will be president if you all “beat the streets” for him, but not me nor many of the young, mid, and old…even in AZ…
I just will no longer do for the DEMS EVER AGAIN — since they had no problems in throwing many, including me, “under/or IFO the Bus” …thus I will not get as “splintered”…
Last week (on 6/25 actually) there was a vote to invoke cloture. It passed 85-15 (a “nay” vote is a vote FOR a filibuster).
The “good guys” who voted against cloture were:
NAYs —15
Biden (D-DE)
Boxer (D-CA)
Brown (D-OH)
Cantwell (D-WA)
Dodd (D-CT)
Durbin (D-IL)
Feingold (D-WI)
Harkin (D-IA)
Kerry (D-MA)
Lautenberg (D-NJ)
Leahy (D-VT)
Menendez (D-NJ)
Sanders (I-VT)
Schumer (D-NY)
Wyden (D-OR)
Those without guts to vote either way (I give a pass to Byrd and Kennedy, given their health problems):
Not Voting – 5
Byrd (D-WV)
Clinton (D-NY)
Kennedy (D-MA)
McCain (R-AZ)
FISA passed 69-28 today. For those keeping score, Obama voted in favor of the bill. Clinton voted against it.
traitors!
the bastards passed it!
bush to sign it soon, ACLU to challenge.
ACK! :billcat:
i need some shop therapy time…
i’m going out to play with my Brit bits, i nearly have them sorted and boxed.
Oh, they had another cloture vote before the final FISA vote. Rollcall not up yet, but it appears that Clinton voted against the filibuster before voting against the bill.
That’s very spineless.
So, yet another day to be ashamed of all Democrats, other than usual few decent ones (Leahy, Feingold, Dodd, etc).
Kp, mustardy brown on the ceramics and a more reddish bg for the welcome page.
Crap! Back to the drawing board. :smack:
The Clinton information on the cloture vote was incorrect, so she is off the spineless list.
Those voting ‘no’ on Cloture (that is, FOR a filibuster):
NAYs —26
Akaka (D-HI)
Bingaman (D-NM)
Boxer (D-CA)
Brown (D-OH)
Byrd (D-WV)
Cantwell (D-WA)
Cardin (D-MD)
Clinton (D-NY)
Dodd (D-CT)
Durbin (D-IL)
Feingold (D-WI)
Harkin (D-IA)
Kerry (D-MA)
Klobuchar (D-MN)
Lautenberg (D-NJ)
Leahy (D-VT)
Levin (D-MI)
Menendez (D-NJ)
Murray (D-WA)
Reed (D-RI)
Reid (D-NV)
Sanders (I-VT)
Schumer (D-NY)
Stabenow (D-MI)
Tester (D-MT)
Wyden (D-OR)
Not Voting – 2
Kennedy (D-MA) (excused due to brain tumor)
McCain (R-AZ) (coward)
And, the final roll call vote on the bill itself:
NAYs —28
Akaka (D-HI)
Biden (D-DE)
Bingaman (D-NM)
Boxer (D-CA)
Brown (D-OH)
Byrd (D-WV)
Cantwell (D-WA)
Cardin (D-MD)
Clinton (D-NY)
Dodd (D-CT)
Dorgan (D-ND)
Durbin (D-IL)
Feingold (D-WI)
Harkin (D-IA)
Kerry (D-MA)
Klobuchar (D-MN)
Lautenberg (D-NJ)
Leahy (D-VT)
Levin (D-MI)
Menendez (D-NJ)
Murray (D-WA)
Reed (D-RI)
Reid (D-NV)
Sanders (I-VT)
Schumer (D-NY)
Stabenow (D-MI)
Tester (D-MT)
Wyden (D-OR)
Not Voting – 3
Kennedy (D-MA)
McCain (R-AZ)
Sessions (R-AL)

first my background … I know many are bored  with me stating the past, but I know no other way to state “reasons why” except through personal experiences and facts/TRUTHS…..
thank you PJ … I was running about and did not have consecutive info re the amendments … so would not list and got back to work….
Ramseys’ Cleared Exactly … another media ERROR BLITZ 🙄 that the masses fell for. 🙄 :fustrate: … :pirate: A!I!V!
ANYONE which voted and supports OBAMA is “caught” Hook, Line, & SINKER…
SIGN IN HILLARY… or GORE! … but I won’t hold my breath…
I wanted to say about the animals…
If Obama and PARENTS gave a damn about a DOG they would have had ANY ANIMAL in THEIR immediate BACKGROUND…but they don’t…
…how convenient…
This is all there waas from AP:
Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, ill with brain cancer, returned to the Capitol to vote on long-stalled Medicare legislation. It was a surprise move designed to ease the bill past Republican stalling tactics.
One official said Wednesday that Kennedy flew to Washington from Boston after receiving his daily treatment for a brain tumor, and was returning immediately after the vote.
Kennedy was last in the Capitol in May. He became ill while home for the weekend at Cape Cod, Mass., and was subsequently diagnosed as having a brain tumor.
I notice a Dem name absent from all the “good guys/good girls” lists (as I note that Boxer and Cantwell are most definitely NOT guys :hubba: ):
Bill “Don’t call me Clarence” Nelson.
What a fucking surprise. Gutless piece of shit that he is, he couldn’t even bring himself to support any of the amendments.
I expect Mel Martinez to vote like a Republican, because he IS one. Apparently Nelson is too, he just doesn’t call himself one.
My most fervent hope is that big Dem victories this fall will strengthen the FL party enough that someone will oppose him in the primary in 2012. Or maybe by then he’ll choose to retire and live off his telecom kickbacks.
Clarence, I salute you. :fu:
 …this previous “OP-Post was suppose to have been copied somewhere else … I had been wanting to write a “nice” farewell … since I finally “learned” …
… My Computer said NO and I could not get back in for sooo long…
I think that states FINALLY to not dally
but only focus in other direction  .
There’s certainly no reason to say ‘farewell,’ but there’s also no reason to continue to trash talk Obama. You hate him; I think everybody gets that. It really doesn’t accomplish anything to continue to bash him, though. I don’t really understand the vehemence, but whatever. I personally though we were left with two sides of the same kind when Edwards dropped out. Such is life in this imperfect world.
McCain would be a disaster as President. Obama? Maybe, but I don’t think so. Not exactly what I want, but better than McCain. Lots better.
Anybody who has been around for the past 8 years and who thought there was no difference between Gore and Bush or Kerry and Bush really should think about Obama vs. McCain.
‘Cuz, hey, it’s McCain or Obama now. That really isn’t a tough choice.
Is it? I mean, really, is it?

Hey, Grampa McSame. Teddy voted today, and he has freakin’ brain cancer. So what’s YOUR excuse?
You don’t have one. That’s correct. My friends.
A brain? Or an excuse? Or neither?
Hey all,
Krista I hadn’t seen your ceramic work before. it’s beautiful.
Nick, I’ve been following similar stories for a while and it’s one of the primary reasons these christian natioanalists are so damned dangerous.
Thanks Andy!

…but I guess it is fine for everyone else to pick apart HILL & BILL …and make CONSTANT negative statements for many moons about them … even yesterday in many venues… way before I would ever say … but I can’t say MY belief and how this came to be and my ex-constant voting and working on the vote — I think what all is wrong…. I NEVER STATED UNLESS I SAW MUCH NEGATIVITY BEFORE… such as the “weak”sub-beta constant negative digs. I can not be silenced … and never give no help to the wary, that changes the “the face of whatever …”… 🙄 ….
no it is not fine …and I have “work” to do thus this multi-coloured woman says *Poof*
