No chance to see who the boobbleheads are today (and we were not visited by the ghosts of Tim Russert or Tony Snow), but fortunately Kevin was able to take some time out from listening to the Victrola and let us know what’s in store for us today.
And now, a few pithy Ben Franklin sayings:
There are three faithful friends — an old wife, an old dog, and ready money.
Well, two out of three aint bad.
Keep your eyes wide open before marriage, half shut afterwards.
Helps if you can disconnect your ears, too, and develop your smile and nod muscles.
One good Husband is worth two good Wives; for the scarcer things are, the more they’re valued.
I’ve seen “Big Love.” One good wife is plenty.
Fear not death; for the sooner we die, the longer shall we be immortal.
Or not. Either way, there’s not much point in worrying.
There was never a good war or a bad peace.
Or a bad piece, for that matter.
Hunger is the best pickle.
I have no idea what that means, but I think it would make a great bumper sticker.
Have a good Sunday!
Okay, fine, I’ll be first. But you gotta go look at my website kristalynnpeterson.com
I got some new stuff for sale and some old stuff. Check it out.
I see everyone is sleeping late, or off having a good time as are RG and PJ. Thanks to Kevin, there is no need to watch the bobbleheads, although there is seldom a reason to watch them.
I saw Obama on Fareed Zakaria’s ( I have no idea how that’s spelled) It was a decent interview. Good questions and Obama had plenty of time to answer.
And, Lincoln has some nifty pics, this morning:

Last month Seymour Hersh of the New Yorker reported that the Bush Administration has stepped up covert operations inside Iran. Now the Times of London, citing information from a senior Pentagon official, says that Bush backs an Israeli plan for a strike on that country’s nuclear facilities:
President George W Bush has told the Israeli government that he may be prepared to approve a future military strike on Iranian nuclear facilities if negotiations with Tehran break down, according to a senior Pentagon official.
Despite the opposition of his own generals and widespread scepticism that America is ready to risk the military, political and economic consequences of an airborne strike on Iran, the president has given an “amber light” to an Israeli plan to attack Iran’s main nuclear sites with long-range bombing sorties, the official told The Sunday Times.
“Amber means get on with your preparations, stand by for immediate attack and tell us when you’re ready,” the official said. But the Israelis have also been told that they can expect no help from American forces and will not be able to use US military bases in Iraq for logistical support.

WTG!
had the weirdest two days…
could’nt read anything. the words to the right kept disappearing and shifting.
hope i’m over it. so far so good.
Thanks SJ! Your eyes or your computer?
SJ, have you seen an ophthalmologist? Thank goodness it is passing, but probably should be looked at.
See, I told you guys I wouldn’t be up early to post the Boobleheads today. Rain in the morning is nice because it makes me want to roll over and go back to sleep, but it kinda sux in terms of accomplishing anything. But what the hell, it’s the weekend.
Greetings all, had to repair a computer and replace a toilet. I feel so manly.
Do you show as much crack fixing a computer as you do fixing a toilet? 😳 :spank:
If only more women were plumbers, eh? 😉

#9 — KP — Don’t know what PJ would say, but my first inclination would be “no”, unless the bowels of the computer are stuck WAY behind something you have to crawl into and then ya can’t help if the crack shows.

————— I’m sure you’ll hear from him when he recovers from Lily Dale. He’s asleep right now. It was a long, rainy ride back. ——
It was too hot. He didn’t feel good. He was about to pass out several times. He just wanted not to be there. I felt horrible for dragging him out there.
From my perspective, the Seance was amazing — I never experienced anything like it — table tipping & all — we tried to get them to levitate the table, but they wouldn’t do it this time around, but we had some serious table movement. ??? magnets???? sure didn’t seem that way to me. 😮 😮 Lots of table tipping & table dancing and I asked if PJs mom was there and the table just freaked out & danced all over the place, but he said he didn’t think it was her because he thought she would have done much more. PJs mom is a great lady with a great sense of humor and great sense of silliness. That damn table danced around like crazy, with all the people touching it when I asked the question “Is Peggy here?”.
That wasn’t good enough for PJ. I just don’t get it. 😮 Very frustrating.
So, even though we had a room with WiFi (no a/c — it is a VERY old hote — but I brought a fan along), his gut and I think his heart just didn’t want to be there because his brain would not compute with heart/gut. Some big conflicts there. I just get tired of being in the wrong place mentally & spiritually at work and at home most of the time and I just don’t know where the hell I am supposed to be anymore. :reaper: But it’s not about moi. It is really about all of us.
I don’t know. I love Lily Dale. I will go there again every opportunity I can find & afford, but I guess I’ll be going without PJ. He did not do well and did not seem to enjoy himself. :knit2
That makes me feel very sad 🙁 and I guess I’ll have to think of something else for next year, if there is a next year).
🙁 :knit2:
I got some interesting pictures of what I clearly see as orbs, but I am sure PJ will dismiss them as raindrop reflections (got a lot of rain last night & today). But the raindrops have a totally different visual character than the orbs. I will post the pictures to a picasa web album in the next few days and maybe we can survey folks as to what they see.
Meanwhile, I need some   zzzzz.
:reaper: Miracle Center tomorrow :slap: :barf: :reaper:
:reaper: Spirits are telling me I gotta get the hell outta-there!! :reaper:
Why are they considering giving a taxpayer-funded bail-out to Bernie Mac? He tells the most filthy jokes, and we in middle America don’t like that.
Glad you’re safely home, RG.
Krista it depends on if I’m wearing my tool belt or not.
Sounds like an interesting
trip, damn PDA.
Raow! :hubba: Tool belts and crack :hubba:
When we get our late night talk show, this is the fookin’ house band
Close call between them and Yo Lo Tengo.
Running joke over at WFMU is that Bob Brainen will play at least one NRBQ song per shift he DJs, and like Yo Lo Tengo they get the run of the station whenever they want.
When Big Al played guitar, it was religion
Yes, alas not in the band anymore. Like with Lowell George and Little Feat. Enough other talent for the band to carry on.
Thanks, WHT!
I never would have found this Mick Taylor.
The Stones managed to forge on as well after his departure.
