Today is the 47th birthday of Barack ‘Barry’ Hussein Obama, the presumptive (presumptuous?) presidential nominee of the Democratic Party for 2008. I hope it is a great one for him. It just might be his last for a while.
I do wish that it might not be the last great one he has for 8 years because his own wish for himself is for something I expect to be demanding and thankless and maybe impossible. He wants to bite off a huge challenge taking the helm of a once great nation that has been plundered and violated and driven into a ditch by a bunch of thugs and gangsters who will likely be long gone, unreachable, and held unaccountable when Presumident Obama and the rest of us try to see what we have left, what can be fixed and saved, or what the hell we can do.
I hope he has a good one today. I hope after 8 tough years he will be leaving the office intact with a tremendous amount of pride and deserved adulation and thanks for having saved the country and maybe the world. He will only be around my age then with a couple of teenage daughters and wife Michelle. He seems to like to take care of himself so maybe the presidency will not exact the same toll on him that it has on others. Then he can just move on to that organic arugula farm and drink exotic teas and hopefully the rest of us will be in higher cotton.
I wish him well in all of his Obamagance as I also hope for the best for all of us.

:cake: Happy Birthday, Barry H.O. :cake:
Thanks, Vern for the opener. “Presumident”!! I  it — well said!
Have a good day, Bloggies!
:fist: A.I.V. !!! :fist:
Happy B’day. Stay strong, Barry!
Yeh, it is great when one is allowed only ONE-SPEAK in this NOW Republican Nation and this ONE-SITE pro-republican/Obama mindset —
can anyone say 1984 ? …
I just believed in *seeing* reality FIRST, then :fist: kick-butt …and not living in dream-time…like obama is NOW for oil drilling off the coast so said MSNBC NEWS … can anyone say whore?
i’ll *fly* by later and see the further negative-speak…
I thought this was a fair site, but it is not…ONLY IF ONE BELIEVES in the way this site demands — therefore many left — I now understand. *Poof*
Nice job, Vernon. Happy birthday to BHO, and may his next one be as president of a once great country.
I think I will be happier with a presumident than I have been with the preznit who said that God wanted him to be elected, which, of course, was a humble expression of his ambitions, not like the presumptuous Obama.
I watched Bush’s War on PBS, last night. It’s premise was that Bushco wanted to “win” the war and get out. That doesn’t jibe with the building of all those permanent bases or Cheney’s remark that Iraq was like a candy store to an oil man.
For me it is hard to separate what is delusional thinking on their part and what is calculated.
Nice pictures from Lincoln, today.

Meanwhile Sen. Bill Nelson said he will be working to educate Obama on the repercussions of drilling 50 miles off the coast: “Fifty miles off the coast would cut the heart and the lungs out of the United States military bbecause the largest testing and training area for the Dept of Defense in the word is the Gulf of Mexico off of Florida…Now that I’m getting a chance to talk to Obama about what it would do to the United States military, that’s something he needs to know.”

Kick ass, Clarence.

Just heard on CNN that ‘bama might be announcing his veep choice Wednesday- Evan Bayh……who I don’t know from bleep but I understand he’s really really boring 😯
Firebombings at Homes of 2 California Researchers
I had a friend back in the 90’s who work at UCSF when Ted Kaczynski mailed a bomb to someone who worked there that blew up in his hands. Nervous times. And now the anthrax thing has finally come to the front burner again.
I’m saying MkKain/Ridge in ’08. Can you say ‘orange’?
btw, I have been living in Dreams since this was the first thing I ever saw at the Fillmore (East). featuring another BO.
That would be too bad, art, since I have been saying that Bayh is milk toast but it might make sense.
I would prefer Wesley Clark for a number of practical reasons including O’Bama needing an attack dog. However, an innocuous Bayh might not distract so much from the O’Bama’s celebrity-fired onespeak juggernaut and could be malleable enough to fit whatever role that might be needed in the next three months.
I do think he will need some bulldog surrogates out there to deal that the garbage that will be flying his way from all kinds of directions.
Gee, Druid, I don’t completely understand what it was you wrote, but if I have the gist of it right, you’re saying that you’re not allowed to write what you want to here? I don’t think that’s a fair statement. I think you can write whatever you want. And so I can I and everybody else. It might be true that you’re in the minority here with your absolute hatred of Obama, but that doesn’t mean you’re not entitled to your opinion.
I think feelings here range from your single-minded hatred to those who see a lot of promise and potential in him, and a lot of everything in between.
And it certainly all seems to be animosity left over from Hillary Clinton. And for the life of me, I can’t see how anybody could despise Obama and not absolutely despise Clinton. Personally, I don’t despise either of them.
And John McCain makes either one of them look like the second coming.

Sorry for all the music. I know everybody has work to do.
