Today on Press the Meat it’s the next Vice-President of the United States, Joe Biden. Then Tom Brokaw chats with Tom “my head is flat” Friedman about Friedman’s new book (he’s the new Al Gore, doncha know).
Meanwhile, over at CBS, it’s Maverick John McCain on Faze the Nation.
At Fux News Sunday, Weaselface Wallace has David Axelrod, chief strategist, Obama campaign and Rick Davis, McNutz’s campaign manager. Plus a bunch of fuxheads.
On the Goebbels network, George Snufalufagus hosts the next President of the United States, Barack Obama.
CNN’s Late Emission has Krazy Jon Kyl, Tim Kaine, Barbara Boxer, Texas hottie Kay Bailey Hutchison, Robert Gibbs, Obama Campaign Adviser, Nancy Pfotenhauer, McNutz Economic Adviser, James Carville, weird cupie doll looking motherfucker, Alex Castellanos, Republican stooge, Tara Wall, another Republican stooge, and political mastermind Donna Brazile.
Later, on 60 Minutes, Bob Woodward hawks his new book, Morley Safer interviews Alec Baldwin, and Bob Simon reports on how the yuppie desire for sushi (because people will eat fucking bait if you tell them it’s the “in” thing) is killing off the bluefin tuna.
Mostly, though, it’s the first Sunday of football season!
maronvseder.com has a placeholder page, so I’m guessing that’s where it’s gonna be.
SouP, I noticed that last week I riposted something from Alaska you had already put up a short time before and for that I am truly sorry.
Vernon, I can’t imagine why I would be offended, so no apology is needed. Actually it’s nice to know that someone else finds the same things noteworthy.
Heh, Palinguage
.
There’s more.
The city takes it away and uses it for mulch. The yard looks so bare now. 🙁
When a Democratic female candidate has an annoying voice, they call her a bitch.
When a Republican female candidate has an annoying voice, they call her a media superstar.
Here I am defending Hillary. How did this happen?
Oh yeah, Caribou Barbie.
:barf:
And just for the record, as long as you support the murder of US troops and Iraqi civilians in an illegal war fought solely for oil and money, you’re not allowed to refer to yourself as PRO-LIFE. Because you’re not pro-life. You’re pro-death.
So there. :nana:
Now that the NFL season has started, I am not sure if we will even be seeing faux noose sunday in the West. Oh, now I see it will air at 2 AM Monday morning. :rofl2:
I’m not sure if this has been posted or not but here it is anyway. From the Mail.
Ted Sampley, who fought with US Special Forces in Vietnam and is now a leading campaigner for veterans’ rights, said: ‘I have been following John McCain’s career for nearly 20 years. I know him personally. There is something wrong with this guy and let me tell you what it is – deceit.
‘When he came home and saw that Carol was not the beauty he left behind, he started running around on her almost right away. Everybody around him knew it.
‘Eventually he met Cindy and she was young and beautiful and very wealthy. At that point McCain just dumped Carol for something he thought was better.
‘This is a guy who makes such a big deal about his character. He has no character. He is a fake. If there was any character in that first marriage, it all belonged to Carol.’
HE SPENT 5-1/2 YEARS IN A BOX! HOW DARE YOU!
Damn, where did that come from?
aaA, I’ll defend you after you drive that car around for another 5 years.
Is that a picture of Angel Martin?
Stuart Margolin who was Angel. It was a PR pic from his Warner Bros. record, ‘And the Angel Sings’. My copy is autographed “Vernon, Ya’ fool you!”. He was married to a friend’s mother for a while. I love Angel.
Me too. Everything about the Rockford Files, really.
I really liked how Rockford was so loyal to his many flawed friends and associates. When they first came up with DIY business cards for computers, there was a shareware program for them called ‘Rockford’.
I’d love to get my hands on this show that preceded Rockford Files.
So, has anyone tried to download one of those Marc Maron ring tones? They don’t have a button for Qwest and when I typed in my number to see what I could get it said they don’t support Sprint anymore. But I had my number from Sprint transfered to Qwest. What kind of ring tone would it be?? Marc telling a joke? Playing his guitar? What?? I wanna know!
Wow! Margot Kidder. I never heard of that show. Guess it didn’t get much past the pilot.
I’d like to just get my hands on Margot Kidder- the 1970’s Margot Kidder :hubba:
You might find “Nichols” in here somewhere.

This predated “Maverick” by 20 years

I loved “Maverick”.
Maverick was great. All of them were actually pretty good, but of course James Garner was the best.
They got a season out of it. The description on the side
Hilarious offbeat, black comedy Western with one of the strangest series finales ever. In 1914, Nichols (James Garner) a soldier, sick of killing, returns to his Arizona home town, named after his family, and is strong-armed into serving as sheriff by the Ketcham clan, who run the area. Nichols, who doesn’t believe in toting a gun, scoots around via an Indian motorcycle. The character is similar to Garner’s quick-witted, laid-back lawman in the “Support Your Local Sheriff” movies (1969 & 1971), but greedier and sneakier. The Ketchams install as deputy their relative, Mitch Mitchell (Stuart Margolin – not Jimi Hendrix’ drummer). The nasty deputy has a dog named Slump, and Mitchell is even dumber than Angel, who Margolin portrayed on Garner’s next series, “The Rockford Files.” A business-savvy local gal (Margot Kidder) has an undefined relationship with Garner, but it’s obvious there’s lots of action in the back rooms of her saloon. The strict moral lines of traditional Westerns are absent in this very Vietnam War era show’s view of the Old West’s dying days: the Ketchams aren’t all bad, and little-respected Sheriff Nichols wouldn’t mind ripping off the town to head for Mexico. As the series’ only season ended, network execs called for major changes from Garner’s company which co-produced the shows – they got ’em. At beginning of the last episode, Nichols is killed breaking up a fight between 2 old men, then is replaced when his much-meaner, black-mustached identical twin materializes ! Many of the series’ creative team went on with Garner to produce The Rockford Files.

Dear Washington Post,
I see where Republican letter writers don’t like seeing stories in the media about candidate Palin’s family. They refer to it as personal attacks.
About that two-faced, double standard about personal attacks. The last five presidential campaigns have been all about the right attacking the left. I still haven’t seen a single stand on a 2000 campaign issue from W. And history has already shown what few opinions W did have in 2000 and 2004 have all been negated, restated or been proven dead wrong.
Enough of history. Back to the present. No one needs to attack candidate Palin. Let her stand on her record. Let her stand on one issue – abuse of power. Governor Palin is under investigation for two acts regarding possible abuse of power as governor of Alaska. Her abusers are members of both political parties. If that doesn’t get her unsuitability for any public office across then maybe the media should shed some light on the rest of her short political career. What I have read about it isn’t very pretty.
The real issue in the Palin candidacy doesn’t have anything to do with her. It has everything to do with John McCain’s poor judgment for selecting an inexperienced, unqualified running mate already in the hot seat over his/her personal actions.
Signed,

I’d never heard of it either.
I wonder what night it was on, and what show(s) it was up against. That made a big difference back in the olden days before remote controls and VCRs (let alone DVRs).
Somehow this got by me
Lesbian rights pioneer Del Martin dies at 87
This year, on June 16, she and her partner of 55 years, Phyllis Lyon, were legally wed. San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom officiated. Theirs was among the first same-sex nuptials in California.
🙁 :gate:
24 episodes
No idea what they were up against.
I imagine Garner still controls them. He had a stroke in May.
A stroke of genius, no doubt.
I get it! Stroke of genious! :rofl2: That was a way homer for me. 😀
