There are few things in life I hate more than doing plumbing work. Chief among those is working on cars – in particular, Korean cars. Dubya may have included North Korea in the axis of evil, but the truly evil ones are the South Koreans – makers of Hyundai.
Granny’s alternator belt broke on Saturday (close to home, thankfully). In order to change that belt, you have to take all the other belts off. To make a long story short, it’s a pain in the ass, and all my shit hurts this morning.
Thank god I can go to work and rest up a bit.
Nobody else is awake yet? Bueller? Bueller?
😮
Lehman Bros. is bankrupt, AIG, the huge insurance group, has a “liquidity problem, Merrill Lynch sold itself to Bank of America, the market has been open 7 minutes and it’s down 290 points, should be a great day for the “investing class.” Sometimes peon status pays off.
WAAAAAAASSSSSSUUUUUUUUPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
🙁 WTF!!!!!!!!
i want to be able to imbed videos 👿
Another boring Monday morning. Even more scared of Palin after reading yesterday’s NYTimes article. Cheney with lipstick, combined with Bush’s incompetence is a really bad combination. At least its payday and I’ll have to give $ to Obama. Waiting for my headache to subside.
Joe Biden will be appearing at Linvilla Orchards tomorrow, right up the street from me, what questions should I ask? I know I’ll be asking about war crimes trials for Bush and Cheney et al.
Hey, I was just listening to “Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me,” and this week’s show was co-produced by Dan Pashman. Looks like he used to work for the Bryant Park Project (with Alison Stewart). Another radio show bites the dust.
Andy…ask him if he has listened to THIS.

Pink Floyd member Richard Wright dies at age 65

Holy shit, that sucks.
I thought I heard them say Pashman was the ‘executive producer’.
I was sort of expecting this
No Show today, but yes for tomorrow

Sorry, Marc and I have experienced a financial meltdown with no government bailout!
No, he said produced by (somebody) and Dan Pashman, executive producer Doug Berman. But it did sound like he said DP was EP. I had to go back and listen again.
It looks like the regular producer has been ill, maybe cancer or something.
When Marc and Sam are on live how do I IM them? Can I use AIM Express? If so is “mmaron” and “samseder” their buddy tags?
Thanks -sa
Yeah, so I gave up on trying to resurrect moronqueen. So I’m now midwestwitchling (aka, the poster formerly known as moronqueen. One day I’ll find an unpronouncible symbol and start dressing in crushed velvet).
Bummer on RG’s car! Jon said that he did tell her the thing was on its last legs when he did finally get her car in well enough condition to drive back to NY…
Back to irritating myself about the mistreatment of the protesters at the RNC ’till the pain meds knock me out..
AIM samsedershow and mmaron
I like midwestwitchling better than moronqueen. It fits you better.
Thanks, SueP. 🙂 Moronqueen was just a long standing running gag nickname that’s been sticking amongst most of my online buddies since about ’98. It’s one of those things I’ve been entirely too lazy to change. I think the time’s right for transitions in the right direction, though.
How’ve the red-tails been doing out there?
Lincoln is back from photographing the conventions, and as usual is keeping track of Palemale, Lola and the rest.

Beautiful!!
The pastor who clashed with Palin
Sept. 15, 2008 | WASILLA, Alaska — The Wasilla Assembly of God, the evangelical church where Sarah Palin came of age, was still charged with excitement on Sunday over Palin’s sudden ascendance. Pastor Ed Kalnins warned his congregation not to talk with any journalists who might have been lurking in the pews — and directly warned this reporter not to interview any of his flock. But Kalnins and other speakers at the service reveled in Palin’s rise to global stardom.
It confirmed, they said, that God was making use of Wasilla. “She will take our message to the world!” rejoiced an Assembly of God youth ministry leader, as the church band rocked the high-vaulted wooden building with its electric gospel.
That is what scares the Rev. Howard Bess. A retired American Baptist minister who pastors a small congregation in nearby Palmer, Wasilla’s twin town in Alaska’s Matanuska Valley, Bess has been tangling with Palin and her fellow evangelical activists ever since she was a Wasilla City Council member in the 1990s. Recently, Bess again found himself in the spotlight with Palin, when it was reported that his 1995 book, “Pastor, I Am Gay,” was among those Palin tried to have removed from the Wasilla Public Library when she was mayor.
….former Gov. Jeb Bush, who was hired a year ago by Lehman Brothers as a financial consultant. As governor, Bush served on the three-member State Board of Administration that agreed to let the state’s retirement fund buy a series of questionable mortgage-backed bonds from Lehman Brothers. The subsequent steep drop in value prompted a $9 billion run on the fund last December by local governments who had invested their money in the SBA managed fund.

They’re quite a group, those Bush Bros. Are there any others beside Neal, George and Jeb?
Re: 25
So why do these f***s keep getting these kinds of positions????? Does anyone even look at previous experience or are family ties and connections that influential??????????????????????????
The more question marks I use the more rhetorical the question. 😕 🙄
