So, another week begins, and we’re only eight days away from the blessed end of this cursed election season. I’m not sure how much more of this I can take. I did see this ad from a local politician that I thought was pretty good, though.

The good part is I had hoped it would wrap up in Philly.
The bad part is the wrong team is winning. :smack:
Pena and Longoria need to start hitting if this mess is coming back to St Pete. I can’t invite someone to Game 6 with me if there isn’t a Game 6.
Good ad, Stirpe. It’s Monday. It’s dark outside, but it’s just beginning to get light and the birds are chattering away.
I don’t know if I can take 8 more days of this, but I know Tuesday night, next week, is going to be very scary. Lots of e-hand holding will be necessary, PJ.
Gotta go earn my keep. Have a good one!
And it’s COLD outside! OK, granted, not as cold as most of you are used to, but I had to wear a jacket this morning. This doesn’t bode well for early voting later this week.
Gee, what’s it down to, Kev, 65? We’re supposed to get snow tomorrow. Nothing major though. I recall trick-or-treatin’ in some pretty good snowstorms as a kid, though. And we’ve had a few election day blizzards. Or, it could be 75 and sunny. Anything can happen this time of year. What a beautiful day it was yesterday, though. Sunny and cool.
Wow, these are trippy times. I think we are on the precipice of something either very very good or very very bad. The country is skidding and we need to “turn into the skid” as my last boyfriend coined the metaphor. I am in the process of turning into my own skid and there are some hopeful things on the horizon. So, I met this guy from a dating site a couple of months ago. I hadn’t heard from him for a while. He wanted to offer me a job. He’s starting a greenhouse and wants me to be the face and sales person of it. It’s all about local food and green living. It’s a very exciting opportunity and I hope I can step up to the plate. The dinner plate, that is.
What’s causing more people to attempt the act is unknown
Oh really? :smack:
For Some, Housing Crisis Stress Is Unbearable
Morning Edition, October 27, 2008 · It’s only natural to worry as the value of homes and investments falls. But the financial crisis is hitting some people harder than others. In California, the housing meltdown started early. Over the past three months, a record number of Californians lost their homes to foreclosure.
And some of those financial losses are turning into human tragedies, as reports of suicide and other desperate behavior emerge.
A permanent solution to a temporary problem….
And now for something completely different:
Saw Maron’s show Saturday night. Did a lot of the new lines; divorce Tourette’s, filled with rage, how can anyone be undecided, etc. It was a smaller audience, he was a lot more interactive though filled with extra insecurity, someone mentioned the cats, and he was off back to the Guardian tour.
MSNBC says Ted Stevens is guilty on all 7 counts!

Well things are pretty good here in the Land of Cheesesteaks ™, relatively speaking, the Phils took game 4 – sorry Kevin – and Obama is speaking about 2 miles from here tomorrow morning. If I can get in I’ll snap some pics, if I’m lucky I’ll shake his hand, it’s not like I’m getting any other perks being a Dem. committeeman.

Sorry is probably the best way to describe last night’s game. When the pitcher takes you yard, you know it’s going to be a long night.
I found out I’m not eligible for the lottery for Game 6 tickets, which is just as well because unless the Rays play a lot better tonight, there won’t be a Game 6. I remain loyal but also realistic.
I’m a lot more interested in the outcome of next week’s competition anyway. Especially since Alaska is now a battleground state!

Ted Stevens: good news among the tailspin stories!
For you dog lovers – beagle escaping
you football may fans not like this. The Lizard Woman may still be in your lives. And Vern, isn’t this your team?…
it double posted, how’d that happen? :knit2:
Damn it, I was going to track down that rumour after eating. There might be an actual revolution here if that ever happened. They should just bury her at the Hoover Institute.

His mystery novels brought me much pleasure over the past 20 years since I was introduced to them.
