Here we have it, the first booblehead day of the Obama era. As such, it’s minority day on Press the Meat, as Tom “retire this putz already” Brokaw hosts Valerie Jarrett, co-chair of Obama’s transition team. Plus, former RNC Chair Sen. Mel Martinez, & House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC). Then a political roundtable with Doris Kearns Goodwin, Jon Meacham & Mary Mitchell.
Over at Faze the Nation, Bob Schieffer has Rahmbo Emanuel, John Harris of the usually incorrect Politico, and NY Times schmuck, David Brooks.
Weaselface Wallace hosts a crying jag with Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind and Rep. Eric Cantor, R-Va (both Obama states), and also one from the winning team, John Podesta, Co-chair Obama-Biden transition team. Plus all the usual fuxheads, of course.
It’s more Rahmbo on This Weak with George Snufalufagus, plus an “extended” roundtable with Fareed “token” Zakaria, David Gergen, Cynthia Tucker of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and (of course) George :jerk: Will.
CNN’s Late Emission includes Harry Reid (show Joe the goddamn door, Harry), the Governator, Arnold Schwarzenegger, another visit from John Podesta, and then Wolfie trots out the black folks: Touré, a BET Correspondent, former U.S. Civil Rights Commissioner, Mary Frances Berry, and Grant Hill (NBA player).
Later, on 60 Minutes, Steve Kroft reports from behind the scenes on election night with the Obama campaign, Scott Pelley reports on where the millions of computer monitors, cell phones and other electronic crap we generate ends up, and Morley Safer reports on Ted Turner and life without Jane.
Giants/Eagles on Sunday Night Football, too. Almost takes the sting out of having t go back to work tomorrow.
Have a good one.
A German archaeologist by the name of Klaus Schmidt has claimed discovery in Turkey of the world’s oldest temple. Called Gobekli Tepe, it predates Stonehenge by six thousand years, and Smithsonian magazine writes that “the find upends the conventional view of the rise of civilization:”

Ah, organized religion…. It’s just so uplifting.
Thanks for the Fish Heads, Vern! Takes me back! 😀
Obama Positioned to Quickly Reverse Bush Actions
Stem Cell, Climate Rules Among Targets of President-Elect’s Team
He could spend 4 years just trying to unravel everything and restoring constitutional government.
Thanks to Melina and 49er for giving me something to vote for this morning. I was really jonesing.
Today I honor Justice Stevens. :gate: Justice Stevens, I believe, has hung on until we elected a democratic President and a democratically leaning Senate. He waited for us to come to our senses. Despite the sick venom spewing from the right concerning him (Coultergeist should have been arrested on federal charges for this comment.) He is, without question, my hero.
49er,
I have been meaning to say something like that. Now that O’Bama has won, now some of these Justices who have been hanging on with their dear lives can retire. I am sure the President-elect probably already has a short list of candidates in mind to nominate and hopefully there will be at least 3 or 4 fair minded repug senators who will help fend off a filibuster.
Sarah Palin blamed by the US Secret Service over death threats against Barack Obama
The Republican vice presidential candidate attracted criticism for accusing Mr Obama of “palling around with terrorists”, citing his association with the sixties radical William Ayers.
The attacks provoked a near lynch mob atmosphere at her rallies, with supporters yelling “terrorist” and “kill him” until the McCain campaign ordered her to tone down the rhetoric.
But it has now emerged that her demagogic tone may have unintentionally encouraged white supremacists to go even further.
The Secret Service warned the Obama family in mid October that they had seen a dramatic increase in the number of threats against the Democratic candidate, coinciding with Mrs Palin’s attacks.
Bitch!
we’ll shame the filibusters, vern, by stealing their mantra:
UP OR DOWN VOTE! UP OR DOWN VOTE!
The Democrats should invoke the ‘nuclear option,’ just so we can sit back and watch the hypocrisy.
So, FK, has Mike been able to get a sense of what the military guys and gals think about the election? There are certainly a lot of minorities in the armed forces (just a coincidence, of course). I wonder if they’re happy with the outcome and are starting to let themselves believe that they might actually be able to get the hell out of that stinking desert and back with their families where they belong.
Re: 8
What an amazing hypocrite. These people so often are what they criticize and they’re either blind to their own hypocrisy or just plain don’t care. Can’t wait for the rapture to get rid of these people so we can have some peace and quiet for once. :gate:
PJ, I’ll think you’ll be hearing from him or the producer, btw about the web site. Careful what you wish for!
He has noticed more interaction among the soldiers. He said there seems to be a feeling of relief in the air and that everyone just wants to go home. He said every day is a Wednesday, over there. Today there were free phone calls provided by the US O and the lines were hours long.
re #12 and I want to know where Sarah’s new wardrobe is before the rapture. I need some new work clothes. :bee:
More fours. The NY Jets, led by #4, Brett Favre, just beat the Rams by 44 points, winning by Barack Obama’s age (47) to Sarah Palin’s IQ (3).

I guess I must’ve missed something.

Sorry, PETA. You just sabotaged your own argument. The last thing this planet needs is an ocean full of little Dick Cheneys.

Pollution Industry Says ‘It’s Scary’ To Think Of Waxman In Charge Of Climate Legislation
This week, Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA) announced his intent to replace Rep. John Dingell (D-MI) as chair of the House Energy Commerce & Committee, which has jurisdiction over global warming legislation. On Thursday, Dingell told WJR Radio’s Frank Beckmann that Waxman is an “anti-manufacturing left-wing Democrat†with a “serious lack of understanding of people in the auto industry and manufacturing generally.â€
Representatives of major greenhouse gas-emitting industries have also recoiled at the prospect of Waxman being in charge instead of Dingell.

The fact that Dingellberry is the hand puppet of the American auto industry, or what’s left of it, has absolutely no bearing on his position, of course.
Maybe with the Mustache of Justice at the wheel, these bozos will clean up their act and get on with producing fuel-efficient vehicles rather than gagging the market with oversized penile substitutes. So to speak.
Ditto

You’re on a roll, Kevin! :rofl2:
That would be a kaiser roll. :smack:
Does anyone know of some home remedies for doggies. I think Miss Nellie may have a urinary tract infection. She itches her poodie a lot and now she’s leaving puddles where she sits. Reminds me of some urinary tract infections I’ve had in the past. I have no money to take her to the vet right now. I’m trying to chase down my paycheck from this asshole painter and I think I’m being stiffed. So, I need to find some home remedy until I have money to take her to the vet. My room mate has some Amoxicillan for humans but I need to know what kind of dosage to give her. I have 500 MG capsules. :pup:
How much does Nellie weigh? I’m sure there’s a relationship with dosage amount, possibly a linear- direct proportionality.
canine urinary tract infection:

Minnie, who weighs about 65 lbs, and Emily who weighs about 50, took 1, 500 mg Amoxi, 2 X daily.
Lots of water is important, too.
I’d call the vet and tell her you can’t pay for a visit, but ask her what she thinks. How about the local SPCA? They might have vet.
Nellie is about 50 lbs. I was gonna call my vet tomorrow and see what he says about the amoxicilan and maybe offer some faux finish work for services. He’s an older guy, seems to be a good guy.
RE: 31.That seems rather high…Bad for the kidneys too
:crap: Have Nellie eat some nettle :barf:
Nellie will eat most anything, nettle huh? Lemme look it up in my Nutritional Healing book.
Minnie will eat anything. She’ll eat truly disgusting things. But, she will not eat a pill. Even if I put them in her food I have to make sure they re too small for her to pick out. I make good use of a pill cutter.
I can grind up pills and put it in anything and she’ll wolf it down. I think I will go get her some cranberry pills to start.
KP, you never know what the affect of some natural remedies are on a dog. Be careful.
Cranberry seems pretty harmless and safe. She’d probably eat cranberries in the wild if they were there. my room mate is blocking me in the drive way and she’s gone to bed so I’ll have to wait til tomorrow anyways. Cranberry seems pretty mild and, as they say, “cranberry is a girls best friend”. I’ll call the vet tomorrow and see what he says. I used to have a naturopathic vet but haven’t been able to locate her for many years. Darn.

Nellie gets table scraps, mostly which includes plenty of leafy greens. I eat all whole foods, plenty of vegis and she gets whatever leftovers I get sick of or what’s left on my plate. I have a feeling she’ll need some sort of prescription at this point, if she doesn’t have control of her bladder. Hopefully the vet will say that the amoxicilin is the thing and will let me know what dosage. Thanks for the links and advice, I think Nellie will be on the road to recovery starting tomorrow. :pup:
I wonder if Cheney will get an ipod or another portable music device as a going away gift.
