So, it looks like Ted Stevens is going down (and not in a Mark Foley kinda way). Now if Al Franken can pull his election out, things will really be looking good (I have my doubts about the GA runoff going the right way, but we can always hope). Sadly, it’s really starting to look like Joe Lieberman will not only stay in the Democratic caucus, but will get to keep his chairmanship as well. And he’ll have Barack Obama to thank for it. I don’t know if Obama figures he’ll owe him one or not (how you can trust a traitor is beyond me; watch your back, Barack, because the DHS committee also has oversight of you, and once that slimy little bastard is installed, you won’t be able to get rid of him).
Oh well, at least it’s almost Friday.
As I work only 4 days a week, this is my Friday and it couldn’t have come soon enough. I suppose I should say TGITH (Thank God it’s Thursay)! At least I can sleep late tomorrow, although I’m still waking up before the alarm, not having internalized standard time yet.
What’s really getting me lately is the GOP resurrecting it’s red baiting crap. Obama was called a commie and now the guy (Sec of State in Minnesota?) is being called one by that slimeball Coleman. Exactly on what basis he levels that charge I don;t know but then, again base, not basis, is what drives the GOP.
Last night I heard some gop jerk talking about the bailout of the auto industry being a bailout of the unions and those ridiculous wages that the auto workers have to be paid. InGOP land, paying failed CEO’s enough money to run a small country is OK. But paying a worker a living wage is a sin.
Gotta work!
Forgive me but I like the headline.
GOP Governors See Bleak Future
Republican Governors Meet, Glumly
After Election Losses, Many See Bleak Future for Party
More of the same:
In the six weeks since lawmakers approved the Treasury’s massive bailout of financial firms, the government has poured money into the country’s largest banks, recruited smaller banks into the program and repeatedly widened its scope to cover yet other types of businesses, from insurers to consumer lenders.
Along the way, the Bush administration has committed $290 billion of the $700 billion rescue package.
Yet for all this activity, no formal action has been taken to fill the independent oversight posts established by Congress when it approved the bailout to prevent corruption and government waste. Nor has the first monitoring report required by lawmakers been completed, though the initial deadline has passed.

Hong Kong says it has found the industrial chemical melamine in a sample of fish feed from mainland China
http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2008/11/12/asia/AS-Hong-Kong-Tainted-Food.php
Once again, I’m worried about what’s in the dry dog and cat food. I’m getting kind of tired of worrying about food products that do in my pets, not to mention my friends and neighbors. The melamine that has been added to feed is showing up in eggs, chicken, fish and who knows what else. I’m pleased to be a vegetarian.
sue, after my own dogs’ food was recalled (a Vet formula) and after the loss of a friend’s five show Malamutes do to poison Diamond Dog food, and another friend’s teacup poodle’s death caused by Old Roy dog food, I’ve been making my own. I do give them costco dog bones and pray the little i give them is okay.
has anyone heard from KP about her girlie-poo?
FK, how do you make dog food?
And, no, KP has not told us how Ms. Nellie is doing.
In his first television interview since he became the center of controversy in the presidential race, Chicago activist Williams Ayers breaks his silence in an exclusive interview with Chris Cuomo on Friday’s “Good Morning America.”
It airs on ABC but I have no idea at what time.
good afternoon!

The fine print
Dunno how much people are following MvS these days
Hey all, I’ve been lurking. I called my vet to see if he would trade services for faux finish and he refused. I have not seen any puddles the last few days but she still needs to be checked, I think. Still struggling with money,so, I need to find a vet who will trade services and I will have more time next week, I think. I hate putting my sweetie on the back burner, but, that’s how it is whe you’re poor. The only comfort i get is the fact that I saved her from the pound. Hopefully things will improve when I get this green house job. Pray and/or visualize for me. This job will be my saving grace. :fire:
I enjoy MvS. It is so nice to hear the two of them everyday. Of course it would be even nicer to have them on the radio. But, I’ll take what I can get.
KP, good luck with the nursery job! And I’m glad Nellie is feeling better.

i usually have to watch mvs after the live so i inevitably miss some of them.

sueP, I cook either ground turkey or chicken thighs – all with rice. I usually buy it at Costco because it’s cheaper. (evil walf*rt is even cheaper but i don’t have one near me). i try to serve organ meat once a week, but i need my pressure cooker and it’s in storage (can’t stand the smell). Then, at feeding time, I add 1 3/4 cup meat with 1/2+ cup per pooch cooked vegetables (has to be cooked or at least completely purreed as they can not break down the cellular wall of raw vegies). I add a couple tablespoons cottage or yogurt, bone meal 1X day and flax oil 1Xday. I also have a vitamin for them. I add a bit of water sometimes, too. They’re doing great on it. I did use this product instead of the vegies and liked it, but it is expensive and I needed to cut back on costs. (their meat product was way to gucky for my dogs’ beards!) I cook enough for about 4 days at a time. Once you get the routine down, it’s very easy. I cook the meat and rice together, so assembly is pretty quick at feeding time. That’s it. works for me. My dogs now get the runs if they eat commercial food. I know 5 people now who had to put their dogs on this diet as they could not stop their dogs from getting the runs. Not sure what that’s all about. I did quite a lot of research. I don’t have time to do complicated recipes. I know a lot of folks who feed raw, but the humans are then more exposed to salmonella (not much of a problem for the dogs). I’m not in to that. Hope that helps!
I know everyone is sleeping, but i just watched Rachel and I’m so glad she’s going after Lierbermonkey – it’s great! She’s not taking prisoners. :fist:
Also, KP, forgot to say => I think that vet is a real sh*t for not bartering. just mho.
