This has been a long, long, week, but just one more day to get through, and then I’m off until next Tuesday. Looks like we get a little break from the snow today (after another foot or so yesterday and overnight), plus it’s going to be warm today – all the way up to 28. And tomorrow it’s supposed be around 40 and rain. Hopefully we’ll still have a little snow left for x-mas.
I didn’t bother to shovel this morning. Let’s hope we can get out of the driveway.
Today is the last working day, then I’m off until January 5. I’ll make good use of the time….lazing around.
I heard that Rush Lintball has figured out that the Dems started this economic disaster. They invented it to get Obama elected and it just got out of hand and now no one knows what to do. And, there are people out there who will believe it.
Oh well, work beckons.
I heard that Rush Limbaugh was invented as a storage area for Oxycontin and anal cysts.
:rofl2:
Once I muddle through the work day today, the rest of my week is free. Praise the birth of Jesus.
I missed the segment on Mike Connell on Thom’s show yesterday. :smack:
:bong:
Morning all, listening to NPR this morning and the discussion was about the automotive bridge loan. What I’d like to know is why is it so hard for NPR to find someone to interview that’s in favor of keeping domestic car manufacturing afloat. All I heard was the guests decrying the UAW. A professor from Md. State or U of Md. was clearly implying that earning 50K – 60K per year is somehow a lavish lifestyle and why should the taxpayers support that. I mean what the fucking hell!!! Since when is 50K lavish and just when did it become some sort of goddamn sin to earn a middle class wage. This is the same bullshit argument levied against teachers. If these guys want a class war, fine, just point me to the front line.
:fustrate: 😡 :rant1:
That guy is living in the 70’s.
I guess the short answer would be that NPR sucks. Some of the shows are excellent, don’t get me wrong, but the news division is very conservative (or cowed by the conservatives, which amounts to the same things), and has sucked for a long time now. Enough so that I stopped supporting my local NPR station (it isn’t their fault, but money I used to give to them now goes to getting real news via satellite or the Internet; just no money in the budget for a bunch of pretentious jackasses that spawned the likes of Cokie the hag).
Andy- this is what my brother and dad believe too. :fustrate:
Christmas may be cancelled here due to snow!
I have been enjoying my walks and avoiding the car…
well, you can’t blame this story on the UAW. So now what will these old timers cling to with their old mantras of, “it’s the unions fault” and unfettered capitalism is the answer to all ills?
PS Is it “surprising” because they are non-union????
:penguin: rare video that depicts the desperate times jeffy and his antarctic friends are facing due to barack obamas election and the coming of an administration that will actually address global warming in a meaningful way
All I know is my late dad’s pension kept him afloat for almost 30 years. I guess he should have been eating dog food while on Social Security.
My mom is on social security and still has to have a job. But that’s her own fault for not sticking it out til 65.

The Great Warming. A documentary is just starting on Jeff Farias’ website.
The death of Republican “IT guru” Mike Connell last Friday in a fiery plane crash has been the subject of intense speculation online about whether it might have been murder — but very little of that speculation has made it into the national media. Now one local TV station in Connell’s home state of Ohio is acknowledging that there are questions about his death.
“Well, this sounds like a made up story,” Scott Taylor of 19 Action News in Cleveland began. “One man rigging state elections to help his boss, President George Bush. After it’s done, power players in Washington say ‘Get rid of the guy.’ Do I believe it? No — for now.”
Taylor noted that “bad weather could have played a part in the crash” but “some in Washington have a different opinion.”
