Back to work for me today. It’s been a long week, so I’m glad today is Friday. Now I have to wait over two weeks for another day off.
I don’t have to go back to work until Monday so I’m enjoying these last few days of vacation. We’ll be heading back to Brooklyn, today. Out here it is snowy, cold and clean.
Travis, I think a 3.62 GPA is great. I’ve always thought that A’s usually come easier than B’s. Those A’s are either in courses that are inherently easy or ones that are in subject matter that you enjoy. The B’s are the marks you have to work for.
That’s great Travis. 3.62 is nothing to scoff at, especially in math.
‘Bono’s friendship with war criminals makes me cringe’
By Anne-Marie Walsh

U2 drummer Larry Mullen has admitted he “cringes” when he sees Bono associating with “war criminals” George W Bush and Tony Blair.
😉 :onion:
Rest Of U2 Perfectly Fine With Africans Starving
SAN FRANCISCO—Rock band U2, currently on tour in North America, is well-known for its human-rights advocacy, particularly its ongoing campaign to eradicate poverty in Africa. Less known to fans of the Irish supergroup, however, is that the lion’s share of these efforts are made by lead singer Bono. The three other U2 members are perfectly okay with the dismal plight of Africa’s poor.
:rofl2:
Well, I hope nobody shoots her, at least.
I still don’t like the idea of having “American royal families” in politics, but fuck it. If the Supreme Court can appoint a Bush to be president, Paterson can appoint a Kennedy to the Senate. Caroline certainly can’t do more damage to the country than Chimpy.
Speaking of assholes named Bush, it’s starting to look like Kendrick Meek could be the front-runner to oppose Jeb if he runs for Senate next year (did I say NEXT YEAR? Holy shit!). This is a good thing, because Meek and Bush had some run-ins while Bush was king, I mean governor, and Meek has no fear of Jeb or of the crime family. Which makes his last name kinda ironic now that I think about it.
Well, I’m getting awfully tired of our Governor. He has screwed me over personally, and is proposing to raise sales tax, State college tuitions and make huge cuts in education and healthcare programs.
And he had this to say to the NY Times about taxing the wealthy, who have had their top tax rate cut in half over the past several administrations (leading to a $15 billion budget deficit, while Wall St – whom the feds are bailing out – plans to pass out $14 billion in executive bonuses this year):
And he’s even acknowledged that his proposed
So, when I refer to him as Gov Blinky, Gov Squinty, or remark that the son of a bitch never looks you in the eye, please don’t tell me I’m being mean to a sight-impaired guy.
But what am I supposed to do, vote for Guidi Ruliani?
Never Rudy!
But, a little protesting to the gov and local state officials might be good, beginning with the three jerks who wanted to make a deal to leave the Senate in Republican hands in spite of the fact that we finally elected a majority of Democrats.
Time to take to the streets….when it gets a bit warmer of course.
Who listens to this stuff on over the air radio?
Today I was listening to Ed Schultz for the first time in a long time and :barf: . I hear a snatch of Randi as I pass through a room with the radio on and :barf: . Hartmann is as  and dishonest on occasion  as ever. I can tolerate Stephie if I can catch the right wing hour but she shifts that around now. I also agree that Frangela is pretty bad. I miss Boosler and Markoe as her subs. They only play one hour of Maddow here at the same time as the first airing of The News Hour so I miss that. I guess a successful Lesbian host proven on cable TV at the national level doesn’t have legs in SF. Never listen to Press any more and Malloy is on at night so I never catch him except passing through.
btw, Lizz Winstead takes her stage show/improv to the DC area (Arlington) the weekend before the inauguration. I’d love to make one of these shows if I ever got back to NYC.
Been working today. My guy had the day off to take care of the puppy and clean out the back room that will be her domain during our two long work days. I’m jealous.
Meanwhile, I’m trying to stick to my resolution to start a blog. I’m calling it Downtime At Work. It’s politics and … whatever. Don’t know if I could be the next Atrios, but there’s too much in my head that goes to waste. Let’s see how long it lasts.
Thanks for thinking that my grades are good.
