Boehner Response to Obama’s Package : “It’s Huge”
Minority Leader John A. Boehner (r-ohio) …expressed concerns about the size of the package…..
Maybe they can get Larry Craig to work on Obama’s package for them?
Poor, ineffectual, Senator Arlen Specter is afraid that Eric Holder will be another Alberto Gonzales. This is only a bad thing when there’s a Democrat running the show, of course.
Joe Biden and Barack Obama have done what they can to kiss Diane Feinstein’s ass over the Panetta kerfuffle. Not a pleasant image, that.
And, of course, former MN Senator Norm Coleman has vowed to go to court to try and, well, pay off his lawyers’ mortgages and yacht loans, I guess, because he doesn’t appear to have a chance in hell of overturning the election results. You folks out there in Minnesota will just have to make do with only one Senator. On the bright side, Larry Craig has offered to fly in (as soon as he’s done with Obama’s package, of course).
Here, we got a couple inches of ice overnight, so I guess I’d better go put the ice skates on the car and get ready for what should be another miserable ride in to work. Hey, at least it’s hump day.
It’s raining it’s pouring……but it didn’t snow and there doesn’t appear to be any ice, so my ride to the Bronx shouldn’t be too bad. Of course, the FDR floods when it rains so we shall see what happens. The flooding has gone on for 50 years but the City can’t figure out a drainage plan.
I’ve been thinking about Sanjay Gupta as Surgeon General. I think it is probably a good, if VERY unexpected, pick. I think they’re hoping Gupta is media savy enought for them to use him to sell healthcare. I have my fingers crossed because I think healthcare is THE issue that must be solved this time.
Joe Biden and Barack Obama have done what they can to kiss Diane Feinstein’s ass over the Panetta kerfuffle. Not a pleasant image, that.
No kidding. I just had breakfast, and the thought of DiFi’s… never mind.
Speaking of huge asses, Jeb apparently is NOT going to run for the 2010 Senate seat from Florida. I’ll take the good news where I can get it. I still like Kendrick Meek for the Dems, but the field on both sides should open up now that the 800-pound petulant manboy is out of the running.
Not to mention…
SENATOR AL FRANKEN!
OK, I know it’s not official yet, but it’s fun to say, isn’t it?
Thanks FK. It doesn’t seem like food policy is on Obama’s radar at this point. But then, he’s got an awful lot on his plate already.
Heh, I get it. Food policy, lot on his plate. :rofl2:

I hope Mike is OK and not injured too badly. Is his son with him in Bagdad?
Tomorrow should be Tuesday too.
I thought it was Thursday for sure :bee:
Sanjay Gupta doesn’t seem to think that there’s a health care problem. Read Krugman.
Yeah, he did a hit piece on Michael Moore and Sicko, which Moore tore to pieces on his website, and forced CNN to at least admit to a couple of errors.
Gupta strikes me as typical corporate medical crapola.
Obama should have nominated Andrew Weil or Steve Allen Jr. But then, that’s not how Obama is.
Joe The Plumber is putting down his wrenches and picking up a reporter’s notebook.
The Ohio man who became a household name during the presidential campaign says he is heading to Israel as a war correspondent for the conservative Web site pjtv.com.
Samuel J. Wurzelbacher (WUR’-zuhl-bah-kur) says he’ll spend 10 days covering the fighting.
He tells WNWO-TV in Toledo that he wants to let Israel’s “‘Average Joes’ share their story.”

Aren’t the Israelis and Palestinians suffering enough?
Wait a minute. Didn’t Joe the Dipshit say during the campaign that electing Obama would lead to the death of Israel? And shame on us, we went ahead and elected him anyway.
If Israel is dying (which seems unlikely, given the strength of their attacks on Gaza), why is Joe going there? Is he going to be Joe the Funeral Director?
Maybe Hamas will capture him, and he can be Joe the Hostage. Good luck to them trying to get any ransom money out of us.
I guess James Guckert, AKA Jeff Gannon has set the example. Now the question: is Joe the dipshit a top or a bottom?
The status of the 4th Estate has never reached such an exalted level before.
I am sure Mr Fk is bursting with pride.
Pj, how can I make a picture appear by the url, like the sammy icon, on a simple html program that I’m making?
I hope Mr. FK doesn’t mind the competition.
Travis, use a regular image tag, just put the URL as the src:
<img src=”http://www.whatever.com/imagename.jpg” alt=”whatever you want” />
Thanks. Does the sammy icon have copyright protection? I mean do you think I can use it without getting shit from my instructor?
Oh, wait, I see what you mean. You need to put a favicon.ico in the directory where your web page is.
Uh, I don’t know if I can do that, or even if I completely understand what that entails.
Maybe in a couple weeks I’ll pester you for more info. Thanks, man.
I think you can say you have permission to use it.
You can download it at: http://www.morningseditionists.com/favicon.ico
More info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Favicon
You might need your web page to be running on a webserver to be able to get it to show up. I’m not sure. You can also reference it in the html head, using:
<link rel=”shortcut icon” href=”/logo.ico” >
That’s why the MS main page has that MS icon.
What we’re doing right now is just using a simple text editor, saving it on the computer and then opening the file up in a web browser. I think the idea for the first two weeks is to become familiar with html tags and their properties. Here’s basically what we did the first day:

Oh! I got it to work!
Yeah, you’ll have time to get fancy-schmancy later. The best thing you can do is learn to do everything manually, w/o using a WYSIWYG editor. A pain at first, but it will pay huge dividends in the long run.
I’m not sure what this is WYSIWYG. I’ll google it.
What You See Is What You Get.
I don’t know enough to distinguish between manual and WYSIWYG yet
I guess I’m already in the deep-end of the kiddie pool.

Re: 32
Yeah, it’s funny how my favorite record store, Eastside Records in Tempe started off being a “record store” in the late eighties, then expanded into the adjoining space and sold mostly cd’s and had some bands play there every now and then. And now they have shrunk down to their original space and sell mostly vinyl again. It’s pointless to eve try to sell your cd’s right now. vinyl is worth more. If it’s collectible. But I got rid of the last of my vinyl in 2002 in Portland when I sold all my singles to start a new life that failed.
#10, now that is truly frightening. Wonder if he’ll get booted out of Israel (not too bad an altercation to cover since Israel won’t allow reporters in Gaza) like Geraldo out of Iraq.
shouldn’t #33 be “soft” times?
#5 => I don’t think he should be there, but that’s just one woman’s opinion…. They (father & son) are fine. Thanks! :sammy:
other southern states love Mississippi because it keeps them from being on the bottom.
crazy weather and I’m in the Bate’s motel on the OR coast. No phone but they have wireless. serious creepage.
I-5 is closed. Not sure if I can get home! :knit:
