Today’s the first full day of the Obama Administration. Since I know he was up late last night, I’m giving him until the end of the week to fix everything. My first suggestion is to quadruple federal funding to states with black governors. Double it if the Gov has a disability. My one caveat would be that the money has to be spent on green industry investment. We need jobs up here, fast.
Speaking of jobs, I guess I better get ready to go to mine.
First full Obama day! I wonder if he would stop the evisceration of the endangered species act, right after quadruples the funding to states with disabled black governors. Then he has ’til the end of the week, at which time I hope he’ll have that universal health care in place.
Work beckons.
I’m not much for all this dancing stuff, but I’d bet even Stephen Colbert was impressed by Obama’s ten balls.
Just watched the inaugural address. Such a relief to have an articulate president. Remembering when Bush and his cronies stole 2004 and the darkness we all felt. The disappointment and dread. Hope feels so much better. :peace:

Obama has ten balls? :omg: :omg: :omg:
I thought Marc and Sam’s rant yesterday on showing “respectfulness” to these outgoing losers and rethug pundits was great. This was a massive 1-2 punch they threw. I would just once like to see this happen in reality. The only recent incident I can remember was Lawrence O’Donnell’s attack on Pat Buchanon, but we haven’t seen a great one on a pol.
It’s not like “Go fuck yourself Cheney” or “Fuck you Bush” were very respectible.
 I was just up too long yesterday and fell asleep before the WC network feed of the inaugural balls. Did I miss anything good? I am about to go down to the office and look at yesterdays shows online.
I think I forgot to say that I came up with a drinking game yesterday. When anyone said Jesus during an invocation, I had to down a shot of unblended scotch.
:jesus: :40:
Maybe now we can get some oversight.
Scott Mitchell’s Photos – Friends (lost and found)
Marc in ceramics class, circa 1981.
Oh, well, Michelle looked resplendent in a white, semi-strapless (one strap, whatever you call that; I think it was to keep her bow-arm free) gown. And not wearing a stupid hat.
Actually, I didn’t watch any of it either, but the Today Show seemed to think it was pretty important.
Last three minutes is an interview.
I was able to download the whole HBO special from their site. It took a very long time but sits as a quicktime movie on my desktop. I really love the U-2 and want to figure a way to move it all to the ipod so it can be my theme for driving around. I feel extremely hopeful especially after receiving wonderful emails from my friends abroad.  :dancers:
American Friend is one of my favorite films.

What is it about Yankees, anyway?

See now, that hat, I don’t consider to be stupid (not my style, but then any hat looks stupid on me; come to think of it, on my best days, I look stupid, hat or no hat, though I think a full-face balaclava is an improvement). Aretha’s ribbon/windmill/turbo prop/whatever it was hat, however, was (IMHO, of course). Not everything that sparkles is beautiful.
Maron is supposed to be on Conan tonight.
Thank you for posting that picture, Vern!
As for our proprietor, people who say they do not look good in hats invariably do not know how to sport a hat. Typically, in that instance, the person is wearing their hat too far back and must pull the hat forward and down. (Note avatar =>)
{*****insert sparkly fairy dust sprinkles****}
Oh look! Santa has a hat low and sparkly! :santacool:
If it’s a big enough hat, and I’m able to pull it down to completely cover my face, then it’s a definite improvement, I’ll give you that.
:rofl2:

Watch today’s Breakroom Live. Marc and Sam Photoshop Aretha’s hat onto a variety of folks, and hilarity ensues. Please be warned, though, that the show open is quite disturbing and not for the faint of heart.
Hillary has been confirmed. I didn’t hear the entire vote but Cornyn voted yes while Diapers Vitter and DeMint are soooooo so concerned by the ethical issues that they voted no.
Ethically engorged Rethugs are also holding up Holder until they get an answer as to whether he will go after the torcherers and Gheitner (sp?) because he had not paid some taxes.
Oooh, that means NY will soon find out the name of the mystery senator behind door #1
Inauguration day at the Red Bull gift shop, Crawford, Texas.
Caroline Kennedy drops out.
Paterson is resisting Caroline because she is too beholden to Bloomberg who is pushing for her behind the scene? Good for Paterson. He just went up a notch in my estimation!
Bloomberg is an arrogant mayor who thinks only he can run NYC. He has been infected by Rudy disease.
:slap: PJ is a hat curmudgeon. 🙄
Aretha’s hat rules!!!
:dancers: Appparently Samantha Bee was also impressed with Obama’s ten balls — she says she’s seen a lot of Washington Balls :omg: :omg: :omg:
Grow up, Jon!!! No More Bush!!!
:rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:
Colbert sez Aretha stole the bow off a Lexus :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:
Chief Justice John Roberts administered the presidential oath of office to Barack Obama for a second time Wednesday just to be on the safe side.
The unusual step came after Roberts flubbed the 35-word constitutionally prescribed oath a bit on Tuesday, causing Obama to repeat the wording differently than as prescribed in the Constitution.
The chief justice and the president handled the matter privately in the Map Room on Wednesday night. White House counsel Greg Craig said Obama retook the oath for the sake of caution.

Oops! Olbermann just said that Caroline Kennedy has not withdrawn her name.
David Gregory on Rachel is saying maybe a miscommunication between Kennedy and the guv. My vote is the guv.
Re: 9
Marc took a ceramics class! COOL! Nice hair cut btw. I didn’t get that hair cut til 1985.
Looks like he got a perm too. :smack:
I would have had a crush on Marc back then too. :hot: Even though I was only 14.
was reading on a legal blog that Roberts is on anti-seizure meds for his seizures. I know people can do just fine on such meds, but it does make me wonder about the flub and there are some concerns over him being CJ.
well, that picture posting didn’t work
This is a picture of two of my friends from work watching the inauguration. It pretty much sums it up for me.
Well that didn’t work.
Try this.
I wish I worked at a place like that where people are allowed to have emotions.
Crap, I was going to try to watch conan, but it’s too late for me. Oh well.
