On Press the Meat this week, Obama Senior Adviser David Axelrod is on to explain to us why a guy who’s supposed to be so smart can’t even manage to fill his Cabinet. Then a political roundtable with the National Journal’s Ron Brownstein, the Washington Post’s Eugene Robinson, Roger Simon of Politco, WSJ hack kimberley Strassel.
Faze the Nation has White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, the always fun to watch Barney Frank, and comb-over master Dick Shelby.
David Axelrod brings his show over to Fux News Sunday, which also has Google Chairman and CEO Eric Schmidt and chief economist of Moody’s Economy.com, Mark Zandi. Plus a bunch of Fuxheads to keep Weaselface Wallace company.
At the Goebbels network, it’s “Bipartisan Debate” day, as George Snufalufagus has the thoroughly disgusting Peter King of NY, and the not quite as disgusting (‘cuz he kinda reminds me of the Mayor on “Carter Country”) l’il Lindsey Graham facing off against Chuck Schumer and Maxine Waters. Doesn’t sound like a fair fight to me. Then the Axis of Drivel is reunited as Sam :omg: Donaldson, Cokie (the hag) Roberts, and George :jerk: Will are joined by political mastermind Donna Brazile at the roundtable. And you haven’t lived until you’ve seen Sam Donaldson’s toupee in HD.
CNN’s Late Emission never seems to list its guest anymore. I think they’ve resorted to dragging homeless people in off the street, which, come to think of it, would be a much more informative show than the rest of these bozos have going on.
Later, on 60 Minutes, Lesley Stahl tells us that the “Buy American” clause in the Stimulus Bill has manufacturers her worried that they won’t be able to dump our goods overseas (which is silly, because the almost the only thing we export these days are jobs, and with the dollar so low, they can’t afford not to keep buying what little else we make these days). Scott Pelley reports on Paul Bishop who he warned his superiors at World Savings – the nation’s second largest savings and loan company – that many of the mortgages they were granting were misleading and predatory three years before the housing market crash. And Steve Kroft reports from Pakistan, where he interviews its new president, Asif Ali Zardari Islamic, about the Islamic insurgents trying to take over the country.
Have a good Sunday, y’all. Only 207 more days ’til football season.
I’ve been awake for an hour. Why? Clifford the cat has decided that he wants to meet the birds at the bird feeder and has been yowling all morning about it. :billcat:
I rarely watch any of the bobbleheads ’cause they make me want to throw something at the teevee, but I do watch Fareed Zacharia, occasionally, and he’s usually pretty interesting. Today he has an interview with Hamid Karzai during which he will probably listen to what Karzai has to say and may even ask a couple of good questions.
Morning all. Does anyone know anything about this?
art dropped in late a few threads ago that Maher was returning this Friday and that’s a good thing. I figured something was afoot since he is hitting the circuit this week. I thought it might have been for the DVD release of Religulous and it does.
Thanks for that iTunes tip. I don’t like iTunes but the vidcast is so stuttering and out of synch I mainly only listen anyway so i’M iN now for the free subscription.
Re 2:
Hmm, that’s what they said about Jeff Farias. He would tell a different story. :tap:
aaA-man, I mentioned it yesterday
but these days it seems like nobody gives a :crap: about prog talk comings and goings so I usually don’t say anything about it, much like I gave up trying to figure out the working links for MvS incarnations. I figured everyone got burnt out on all of the disappointments and moved on. I did post something about Farias the other day and replaced it because I decided it was some DKos blather of no substance.
I think Randi is nuts and her ego is out of control. That is not to say Nova M is not fooked up as well. Won’t it be funny if AAR ends up resurging. Meanwhile whatever the Jones Radio thing is now seems to be the hands down winner even though I don’t care too much for their ‘talent’.
The New York Press has a review of “Break Room Live.”

Jeff Farias is on that Roots Up radio now too. He has ads and everything now.
Roots Up Radio
I listen to a lot more NPR anymore, often in the background. In the first run today they attributed a song to The Ramones but corrected it to The Clash on the replay.
WHAT”S THE FOOKING DEAL WITH TAX CUTS!? I say give all the tax cuts you want if they cut off at $75K and and are balanced by tax increases on over $250 K.
Oh, yeah. Please run Peter King for Senate.
Good op-ed from Frank Rich
I’d listen to progressive radio if we had it here, but we don’t. Just got tired of jumping through hoops trying to listen/podcast. Especially since there’s not much out there I really care for these days. Too bad, but it made me realize that I hadn’t been listening to music much these past few years. I have a 120 gig Zune now, and with the Zune pass I pay about $14 a month and can have basically all the music known to man on it (and on my computers). Plus all the podcasts and video stuff that’s out there (about the only way I catch Olbermann these days).
I can stream everything to my home theater via my XBox, though I mostly just use it listen to music all day at work. I even get to keep 10 free mp3s with no DRM every month, which just about pays for the subscription.
I did e-mail BRL to see if they can get it added to the Zune Marketplace. If iTunes had a subscription service, I’d have considered it, but I wanted a 120 gig device, and the Zune is just head and shoulders above the iPod classic. The iTouch would be cool, but it’s just way too expensive for what you get. The interface.and touchreen is great, but I mostly just get the music going and then set it aside, so I think the coolness factor wouldn’t last all that long (but that’s just me).
I like BRL and usually get to listen to it live or listen to the podcast. But, that’s about it. Occasionally I listen to Cenk, who vacillates between interesting and juvenile and so I can only take so much.
Next week Sam will be away and Marc will solo. It might be a great week.
It most certainly be a great week.
I am not a Sam Seder fan.
His voice grates on my nerves and the way they bait each other bugs me.
:knit:
I’d forgotten the Sam away thing. It would almost be worth to see him trying to work from the road to see how well his techno-brilliance could do since he likes to put down Marc in that situation.
It would be nice if Seder got another show and Marc took over the vidcast. I’d rather see it the other way around but it seems like Sam is better positioned and I don’t get why. I think Maron is superior on every level yet Seder acts like he is so much better. It is no wonder he left law school after one year. He can neither write nor spell.
I guess Sam plays the game better than Marc and does a better job getting along with people.
The sky here is a morbid shade of gray and it looks like it could start raining any minute. I’m ready to go back to work but we’re not open tomorrow, so I guess I’ll go see The Wrestler assuming I have the energy to drag my sorry ass out of bed at a reasonable hour.
But on the bright side, the Republicans are still assholes. Nice to know you can count on something in life.
I guess Inside Washington flies under everybody’s booblehead radar but it is a favorite of mine, usually with Nina Totenberg, Mark Shields, Charles Der Krauthammer, Evan Thomas, Colby King hosted by Gordon Peterson.
Kraut just said the difference between O’Bama and Reagan was that Reagan had more substance. :rofl2:
He had a few earlier gems that had everyone laughing out loud. They are getting desperate and becoming unhinged trying to set the propaganda.
My Dad loved Phil Harris and Bing Crosby, who btw were there the first importers of Herradura tequila to the US.
h/t to The Lawrence Welk Show Mardi Gras special.
Phil Harris was great, first on Jack Benny, and then on his own show with Alice Faye.
“Phil Harris was great, first on Jack Benny, and then on his own show with Alice Faye.”
I didn’t think you wer that old pj.
hmmm
Has any else seen Matrix News? :tinfoil: 😮
now they’re talking about the digital teevee thing – “why would the government care about your tv clarity with no debate costing a billion dollars? reread George Orwell’s book.”
Had kind of a weird day…tripped on a curb and slammed my face in the pavement my eyeglasses jammed into my brow. Knee hurts and rib but the hands are unscathed. (Must save them for the :knit: :knit2: ) Eight stitches in the head and I didn’t get to stimulate the economy. Oh…wait there was that 100 dollar ER copay that my $900 month insurance doesn’t cover.
😡
heron, I hope you are OK. Glad I didn’t delve too deeply into the Randi thing now.
