Ah, kids. They really do say the darndest things. Take Bristol Palin, for instance, who told Fux News that expecting teens to abstain from sex (as her mommy and many other foot-tapping GOP geniuses preach) is “not realistic at all.” Well, duh. She does confess that it would be a whole let better not to get knocked up at 18, though. Gee, let’s see, hard to keep young kids with hormones raging from having sex? Not good to get pregnant so young? If only there was some sort of, oh, I dunno, call it “contraceptive” or something that we could inform these kids about, just in case they lose their Purity Rings down the drain or something. Nah, that’s crazy talk.
In other news, the carnage continues during this month of accidents and pratfalls. Not one, but two models hit the deck while attempting to walk down the runway during Herve Leger by Max Azria’s Fall 2009 fashion show in New York. Just goes to show, your parents were right again: always wear sensible shoes (and clean underwear).
Apparently Uncle Dick is furious (furious, I tells ya) at the Chimp for not pardoning his boy Scooter. We’ll have to see what develops out of this (a tell-all book, perhaps). As the saying goes, hell hath no fury like an Angry Dick (and this one’s not shootin’ blanks, either).
Speaking of anger and chimps, a 200 pound “celebrity” chimpanzee named Travis flipped out and mauled a woman in Connecticut. Apparently he was incensed when they re-elected that weasel Joe Lieberman, and just couldn’t let it go. Sadly, the cops killed Travis before Fox could sign a deal for their new reality show, “When Chimps Attack.”
And let’s hear it for Arnold Schwarzenegger and California. You may recall (so to speak) their last Governor, Gray Davis, was ridden out of office on a rail, due to his fiscal irresponsibility and whatnot. Well, the Governator has racked up budget problems far worse than Davis ever managed.
They might have to have a “going out of business” sale, and there are rumors that Schwarzenegger may be willing to sell Southern California back to Mexico if the price is right (assuming they can agree on a plan to keep the filthy gringos from crossing the border and stealing jobs from honest, hard-working Mexicans first, though). Of course California’s system (making it easy to pass ballot propositions and next to impossible to pay for them) would make things tough for anybody.
But apparently Ahnuld has been particularly ineffective on both sides of the aisle (being from NY, where we have our own ineffective Governor – who is withholding a Medicare payment of $38 million to the hospital where I work, forcing us to get a bridge loan from Stony Brook University – I don’t really know much about CA politics, and am certainly in no position to criticize).
Looks like I need to get ready for work. Plus, the Today Show seems to feel a need to shove Karl Rove in my face this morning (I’d sooner watch the big fat cellulite covered ass in a thong commercial, frankly). No time to proofread today, so feel free to pick apart any typos and left-out words you come across. Have a good one.
When do we ever pick out typos? Unless they’re perverted :hubba: or gross :barf:
Farias was talking about Randi yesterday or the day before but I missed most of it. He said they were terribly dishonest. Remember when we liked the Drobneys? 🙁 I’m not a big fan of Randi but we need all the liberal voices we can get on the air and I hate for conservatives to be able to say, “see, liberals can’t run a bidness like conservatives can”.
I heard Malloy spoke about Randi last night, something like ‘Randi doesn’t work here anymore’ and if anyone knew how to get in touch with her should ask her to give him a call. I did not hear it so I may never know what he said. I might look for a bootleg later if I still care.
I remember when everyone thought the Drobs were the saviours of ProgTalk, the anti-AAR and kept on telling Marc and Sam they should get over there. I always figured that Randi had sucked every last nickel out of Nova M and unless everything totally took off, they would forever be cash strapped and never be able to spend much for promotion and more talent. Now that Randi and the Drobs are started up another big melodrama for whatever reason, it will just further cheapen the Progressive Talk brand and further empower its detractors. Say what you will about Dial/Jones and their Progressive talent lineup of Press, Miller, Schultz and soon Hartmann, they seem to have some stability (i.e. $s). Until someone with deep pockets they are willing to drain for a long time takes over or starts a Progressive network, syndication seems to be the smartest way to go. Maybe that is what is happening at AAR right now but it will take a lot to fully revive that brand.
I did not know that Dial Global syndicated KPIG, one of the best radio stations going.
The founder of an Islamic television station in upstate New York aimed at countering Muslim stereotypes has confessed to beheading his wife, authorities said.
Muzzammil Hassan was charged with second-degree murder after police found the decapitated body of his wife, Aasiya Hassan, at the Bridges TV station in the Buffalo suburb of Orchard Park, said Andrew Benz, Orchard Park’s police chief

Death du jour
Pioneering salsa band leader JOE CUBA has died, aged 78.
Bang, bang!
:dancers:  🙁 :gate:
#3 continued (FireFox froze up. I did not even know it got through.)
What would also help is if they evened the playing field by breaking up some of the media ownership monopolies and conglomerations so ownership opportunities were more open.
Don’t forget four days of solo Maron, AKA Marc v. Maron begins today unless Sam slips in another one of his powerful Survivor Sam episodes.
I thought Maron was great today. While I was watching I noticed iTunes was downloading yesterday’s show of the interview with the film maker.
It sounds like next week Marc will be in LA and Sam will be soloing. Tomorrow hopefully Lawton Smalls and Marc said he would reach out to Jim Earl.
I can’t figure out how to link right to this so pardon the long cut and paste.
Nova M Becomes ‘On Second Thought’
By Mike Stern
The finger pointing between host Randi Rhodes and her network Nova M is over, and so is Nova M. Network GM Eric Reinert tells R&R that Nova M is no longer an entity and that a new company called On Second Thought LLC has been formed and is moving forward. Both Reinart and Rhodes’ lawyer Robert V. Gaulin confirm that Rhodes is no longer associated with the group.
Gaulin tells R&R that Nova M’s legal team is advising the company to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and that Rhodes would not hear anymore from Nova M until after the bankruptcy proceedings began.
Gaulin says he has advised the network that their contract with Rhodes is considered terminated due to breach of agreement on their part. He declined to comment on the exact contract breaches but says, “No on-air personality would ever go on air with a talk show under the circumstances that existed that we found out about two or three weeks ago.”
Gaulin also says that the current hospitalization of Nova M co-founder Sheldon Drobny is due to an attempted suicide saying he and Rhodes are, “Most sadded by the tragic news.” Reinert declined to comment on the situation.
Reinart also declined to comment on a lawsuit recently filed by former network CEO John Manzo. The 16-page complaint alleges, among other things, that the syndicator breached Manzo’s contract, failed to pay state and federal taxes on his behalf, defamed his character and cast him in a false light.
Reinart says the new network will continue to offer host Mike Malloy along with new shows from hosts Nancy Skinner, who has been filling in for Randi Rhodes during the recent contract dispute, and Mike Newcomb, a popular local host in the Phoenix area.

Evening all. Well the Delaware County Democratic committee has it’s big shindig tonight. I would go except I think I need a nap instead. I knew this would happen the second I turned 50.
Heh. I haven’t quite hit the big five-oh yet, but once I get home for the day, it takes a couple sticks of dynamite to get me back out again.
Dr. Mike Sux really hard. I can’t even tolerate him. I really don’t see how he’s popular. I think Jeff is more popular.
I’m afraid to go out any more..just ordered pizza and broke an Amazon rule I had going. Lets see how it goes with the groceries
Ugggh…It’s only part one
:knit: :yuck: :barf:
I wonder if my groceries will go to Kansas City first. :fire:
Lawton will be on with Marc tomorrow. 😥
