Hey, they had the Oscar’s last night, and I didn’t even notice. Didn’t that used to be in March or April or something? Am I supposed to know who Hugh Jackman is? Oh well, I don’t guess I missed much (haven’t even heard of – let alone seen – most of the movies, for one thing). Certainly nothing worth missing Big Love for.
Sad news this morning. Apparently Simon Cowell (the epitome of somebody that I am forced to know, despite having absolutely no interest in him or televised Karaoke) has decided he wants to be frozen and bought back to life after he croaks. From what I can tell, he seems to be a waste of a life the first time around; I can’t see a reason to have him back for another round. Fortunately, I can’t afford to be put on ice, so at least I won’t have to put up with snotty, prissy British accent once one or the other of us die. And, really, shouldn’t his 15 minutes have been up a long time ago?
We got a little bit of snow here over the weekend. Not too much, compared to our friends to the north in Oswego (or the folks up in Maine, who are getting pummeled this morning), but we got about 9 inches on Friday night (making the dog park spectacularly beautiful on Saturday), and a few more yesterday (and it’s blowing and snowing pretty good right now). We’re about three inches away from the 12 foot mark for the season. We average about 40 inches from now until the end of the season, so it isn’t looking good for hitting 200 inches (unless we get a couple of good storms, which is possible).
Well, time to get ready to get ready to go to work. Enjoy your Monday.
Back to work! Arghhhhh!
Lola and I both slept through the night. No waking up. What a nice and rare thing.
I took Lola into the backyard last Thursday. She played and liked running after the leaves but after 10 minutes she ran up to me and wanted to be picked up. She was shivering and it took 10m minutes before I could warm her up. Since then it’s been even colder so I haven’t taken her out.
Just for the record, I actually did miss Big Love last night to watch the Oscars. I’ll catch it tonight, so if Bill took another wife or two in this week’s episode, don’t tell me.
OK, Kev, I won’t tell. But I will say that I’m pretty sure that part of the show was filmed at Letchworth State Park.
I watched it just to the point that Heath Ledger won the best supporting actor award. His mom, dad and sister all had some kind words to say about him. They all spoke with sensitivity and love but without the icky sentimintality that americans are prone to (they’re Austrailian).
I haven’t seen “Milk” but was dissapointed that Mickey Rourke didn’t get best actor along with Marisa Tomei for best supporting actress. “The Wrestler” is going to be a classic.
It’s a travesty that “Dark Knight” wasn’t nominated for best picture.
Didn’t watch the Oscars but I did rent Religulous. It was excellent!! Will try to enjoy my second day off in a row, but I still have to clean the house.
Got a bit of sad news this morning about someone I used to work with and who is still a favorite.
Buddy Miller suffers heart attack, undergoes triple bypass
The music begins about 1:30 in after the endorsement. I wouldn’t be surprised if I have posted it here before.
Buddy and Julie have a great new album coming out next Tuesday.
Oh yeah, one more thing about Maher last week…
Bill Maher Brings on Anti-Muslim Extremist to Comment on Recent Beheading
WTF!?
Maher appears to be headed towards wackadoodle libertarianism v civil libertarian. Some do that, you know. MacBook is in hospital. Typing on small electronic device. Thx for warning on hbo palin thing. Will delete from dvr. Don’t need to be throwing any bricks.
Ammiano bill would legalize marijuana in state
Tom must be looking for his slot on Maher this week. :bong:
The local Green 960 is taking a flier this week with Frangela as a Randi replacement. They are not very good. I can’t see why next week they can’t give Maron a shot.
Frangelica is UNBEARABLE! I’d rather stick an icepick in my ear. :holla:
Mamma Mia!
Big  was a tear 🙁 jerker :jerk: :smack:
