Uh oh, seems everyone but Lola the puppy slept late, is doing the laundry, shopping or otherwise taking advantage of a day off to get some work done. Such is the life of us working stiffs.
Meanwhile, in DC the wingnuts are gathering to discuss (rant about) the state of the nation. Joe the Plumber fondly remembered a time when people who spoke poorly about the troops were shot and the shooting was considered fine, as everyone seemed to understand that the dissing of troops was a capital offense. He didn’t specify exactly what year he was pining for but he seemed sure that it was so.
The star of the show was a 13 year old who, at the age of 8, became a Rethug because of his great admiration for Bill Bennett and thus spoke much wisdom to the gathering.
Meanwhile, Michele Bachmann of Minnesota proudly told the crowd that the founding fathers objected to taxation without representation and added “imagine what they would have thought of taxation WITH representation.” Then even she looked confused by what she had just said.
And Senator Jim Bunning, angry at GOP efforts to support someone more likely to win, threatened to resign and allow the Democratic governor of Kentucky appoint his replacement.
Perhaps the times they are a-changing.
Have a good one!
