Actor turned wingnut (and fellow UB alum, though he actually graduated, unlike me) Ron Silver died of esophageal cancer. I think he choked on Republican talking points, which stuck in his craw, festered, and turned cancerous. Say what you want about him, he was pretty good as the unscrupulous campaign director on the West Wing. Major asshole Frank Luntz has a stirring tribute. :barf:
More shocking news over the weekend: the Republicans don’t have a plan to fix the economy, but they still think the Democrats suck.
AIG is taking our money and using it to pay huge bonuses to the people who ran the company into the ground. It’s OK, though, since they’re not auto workers, and most likely deserve it.
Dick Cheney again says Obama’s gonna get us all killed. Oh, and he and president dummy shouldn’t get any blame for flushing the economy down the toilet, ‘cuz they were busy fightin’ evil doers and such. Hey Dickie, you can watch some of the people whose lives you destroyed getting evicted from their homes, right there on your teevee. Go fuck yourself, Dick. Oh, and shut the fuck up, ‘kay?
David “squeaky” Frum says attacks on Michael Steele make him sick. Funny, listening to David Frum makes me sick.
Great weekend this weekend. Warm and sunny, with an even warmer and sunnier week ahead. Have a good one.
No Jim Cramer on Today Show this morning. Maybe its cuz the whole crew is in Ireland and that Matt Lower is off, but one can hope that this is a trend. Jon Stewart is right, the financial news is a mess. Erin (I love Chachi) Burnett is selling her whorish CNBC creds on The Apprentice giving sluttish business advice to the contestants. Trump should send all the contestants off to see who does the best job servicing Larry (crackhead) Kudlow.
I guess Ron Silver was a good actor in a very narrow acting style, but he will always be associated with probably one of my top-two favorite prime-time TV shows of all time, Wiseguy. (Homicide is the other of course)
I loved Wiseguy, especially the Dead Dog Records episodes.
I remember Janeane and Sam railing against Silver on Majority Report. I saw this last night but couldn’t speak well of the dead so I let it be.

You still have vinyl?
Comment by Kristapea รขโฌโ March 15, 2009 @ 11:53 pm
Six crates’ worth. Most of it is from the mid to late 80s, but there’s also some older stuff I brought down when I moved from Ohio. And you can still find it around from time to time… last year I picked up the reissue of Nick Lowe’s Jesus of Cool on vinyl.
:nana: most of my vinyl is from the early to mid 00’s although throw in some velvet underground clash beatles lennon doors aerosmith cars joplin hendrix etc………..
vinyl? You don’t want to know. 5K?
Tomorrow’s the last day to get a slice of the Seattle P-I in print form.

Anybody have any insight about what’ going on with BRL and AAR? They still haven’t archived the show from friday- They usually wait til sunday but this is ridiculous.
Also. are we supposed to sign-upo with UStream to get shows? i signed up but then a search for BRL came up with bupkus.
Janine is going to be on Olbermann in a little while- Rachel”s on with Letterman tonight.
art, you mean audio? The video seems to be showing up here.

I see the shows but never registered at ustream.
Today, Sam said that he and Marc will be hosting the entire Ring of Fire show this Sunday.
The most terrifying Wiseguy arc was the one where Vinnie was supposed to help his cousin from Italy get a start in NY, but some Italian mafia hood “trades” his place coming over on the ship. After that, more bad stuff happens.
I loved the Wiseguy :hot:
yeah, I meant the audio. I still don’t see the entire video offered for friday or today- just little chopped-up pieces of video. And I jsut checked- still no video, which is how I usually listen to it.
The only vinyl I have left is “The Good The Bad and the Ugly” which no one would buy because it is in bad shape. But it looks great beside my mural of red rock with black and white streaks inspired by a truck stop off of I-40 just east of the New Mexico/ Arizona border at an Indian Gift shop. I’m sure Seaniesean knows it.
The sound quality is bit scratchy, but it sort of melds into my tinnitus.
Travis- Who was that? John Fahey’s kid sister? Who ever it was I love to watch/hear a musician loving what the’re doing which she obviously was doing ๐ Such sweet innocent talent
Camelia Jade.
Sorry, art. I find both full shows on that link and just tried Friday and the video came up. I’ll try yesterday later.
The audio link I never deal with. I subscribe for free on iTunes but never use so never check.
Oops. I’m on the wrong thread.
