The Chicago local Fox station reports that evolution is making women more beautiful, because the hot babes are reproducing more (sorry, ladies, the men are staying just as ugly as ever, but you’ve always got the Jello-Joweled Triad of Lou Dobbs, Rush Limbaugh, and Glenn Beck to lust after). Now, I know what you’re thinking: I thought evolution was a myth, right? And even if it isn’t, doesn’t it take, like, millions of years for a series of minute mutations to become noticable? And does this mean that good-lookin’ women are really just mutants?
I think we can attribute the mutant beauty gene to a combination of three technological advances of the late 21st Century. First, there was the development of video cameras (especially the night vision ones), making it possible for celebrities and other “hot” women to make home sex tapes, therefore encouraging them to copulate more frequently. Next came the Internet, providing a mechanism for the proliferation and sharing of home sex videos, thereby encouraging more frequent copulation. And, finally, came the tanning bed, favored by those who want a year-round tan without all the messy spray paint (and who are, by definition, beautiful).
Tanning bed radiation (recently moved into the top cancer-risk category, alongside arsenic and mustard gas) infused into the bodies of these frequently copulating “beautiful people” has accelerated the rate of genetic mutation, rapidly spawning a new race of beautiful young women. I say young, because, sadly, most of them will get cancer and die at an early age, leaving behind beautiful, cancer-riddled corpses.
We, the Ugly People, who have eschewed the use of tanning beds all our lives (believing that popping yourself into a toaster in order to get a tan in February is, well, pretty fucking stupid) will be consigned to living in a world full of beautiful, young, terminally ill, frequently copulating (and pretty fucking stupid) women.
Unless President Palin can straighten this mess out, of course.
Wouldn’t you say that President Palin is another symptom of the world you describe?
I don’t think she uses a tanning bed (if you look closely, it appears that she gets her makeup done at a funeral parlor). However, I do think she’d be at the forefront of passing the Beauty Pageant Contestant Preservation Act, which would require safer tanning solutions (and an oath to preserve and defend the institution of opposite marriage).
OK, all you Morning Seditionists, you’d better be prepared to be eliminated by your socialist government or oppose healthcare because:
REP. VIRGINIA FOXX (R-NC): Republicans have a better solution that won‘t put the government in charge of people‘s health care, that will make sure we bring down the cost of health care for all Americans, and that insures affordable access for all Americans, and is pro-life because it will not put seniors in a position of being put to death by their government.
REP. PAUL BROUN (R-G): A lot of people are going to die. This program of government option that‘s being touted as being this panacea, the savior of allowing people to have quality health care at an affordable price, is going to kill people.
RUSH LIMBAUGH, RADIO TALK SHOW HOST: People at a certain age with certain diseases will be deemed not worth the investment, and they will just—as Obama said—they‘ll give them some pain pills and let them loop out until they die and they don‘t even know what‘s happened.

Unfortunately, Rethugs are stupid enough to believe this.
If the cake fits…

CNN and The Hill are reporting that House leadership and the White House struck a deal with Energy and Commerce Blue Dogs to allow for E&C mark-up to continue:
In exchange for putting off a floor vote until after Labor Day, the Energy and Commerce Committee may be allowed to continue its markup of the healthcare bill this week even if an agreement has not been reached between committee Chairman Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) and seven Energy and Commerce Blue Dogs over the content of the bill.
Asked if House leaders had told Democrats that there will be no House vote on healthcare before Friday, Blue Dog Co-Chairwoman Stephanie Herseth Sandlin (D-S.D.) said, “I don’t think [leaders have] made public statements to that regard, but my understanding is that that would be part of an agreement, if they actually do move forward with an Energy and Commerce markup, that there will be no vote on the House floor until after Labor Day.”
I confirmed with a House source that E&C mark-up will resume at 4:00 today, and got some details of the compromise. In addition to postponing the vote on the full bill until after recess, Waxman and the Blue Dogs negotiation a basic outline including raising the small business exemption raised to payrolls of $500,000 or over. It keeps the public option intact, and allows for HHS to negotiate rates for the public option. It keeps consumer protections currently in the bill intact.
The one thing in the agreement that could come back and bite us in the ass later is that it allows states to have the option to set up co-ops. This is in addition to the public option–states will not be allowed to opt out of the public option, and would not be allowed to substitute co-ops for it, but could create them in addition to the public option. It sounds good, but giving any kind of toe-hold to co-ops in the House could be a headache for House negotiators in conference, if the idea can’t be killed in the Senate.
The three committee chairs will work through the August recess to work out a single bill that the House will vote on in September. Pelosi is expected to announce the new timetable shortly.

Rush might be on to something here. He’s an expert on pain pills, after all.
:rofl2:
In fact, he may have been riding the Oxycontin Express when he made that comment.
I think anyone with a terminal illness should get free narcotics and pot. Life is a terminal illness, therefore….
Dude, got any pot?
:hot: 105 at 5pm :hot: :tinfoil:
The weather liars are at it again. Saw a temperature gauge on a pick up truck that was in the shade and it read 116 at noonishness. 108 my ASS!
if it is 105 in Seattle it has got to be 116 in frickin’ AZ KP :tap:
It’s been a pretty cool summer, so far. No complaints about that. But, after an entire 48 hours without rain, it poured with lots of thunder and lightning. Very dramatic.
The only problem I have with the “women are getting more beautiful” theory is that the perception of beauty is very subjective. Just think, there was a time when crimped and disfigured feet were a real turn on for Chinese men. The women appeared to be just fine with regularly shaped feet on the men.
So, by what standard do we judge more beautiful or not more beautiful?
