Just saw some shocking news: the NY State Fair starts Thursday. Who cares? Well, I don’t, really, but around here, “Fair Week” (which is actually more like 12 days, and ends on Labor Day) signals the end of summer, shorter days, cool nights (which can’t start soon enough for me), and – most importantly, football. Before you know it, leaves will be dropping, and the snow will be flying. Fall is my favorite time of year (except for those short days), but somehow this always sneaks up on me (probably not as much as it sneaks up on Sue, though; unlike me, she’s gotta go back to school). Mondays have a tendency to sneak up on me, too. So I guess I better get ready for work.
Oh, PJ, you would have to mention the looming school year. The best thing about teaching is those long vacations, but they do seem to make getting back to work that much harder. It all starts September 9. I’ll think about it September 8.
College started here today. Mr. Fk has his first day in his new role.
Was driving my bro in law’s car recently and his radio was set on a comedy station on XM. A redneck comedian was talking and he said he was in Texas where they still believe in the death penalty. The crowd went crazy with glee and shouts. It was absolutely disgusting. I just don’t get it.
I was at a red light next to an old white geezer driving a pick up truck
with these anti Obama things on it – Obama taking guns away from people etc. He’s spent some time on the lettering – very professional. So when i was next to him in made the crazy sign with my hand – circles around the head. Oh my god, he went CRAZY nuts. His wife was in the car and he was leaning over her yelling at me. Mr Fk then got mad it me because I was going to get myself killed by these idiots. There is so much hatred out there, it’s mind-boggling.
Sounds to me like Mr. Fk knows a danger zone when he sees one.
He was probably a right-to-lifer, so you’re lucky he didn’t kill you.
BTW, I wathced “Fixer: The Taking of Ajmal Naqshbandi” on HBO last night. What a sad story, and what a f*cked-up place Afghanistan is. I’m so glad Mike is back home and stormin’ Norman.
Major props, OKat. Geezer needed to be told how insane he was.
Lefties think people on the Right are nuts and thus hesitate to engage them. The wingnuts have no problem letting us know what they think of us. OKat nee FK, I think you did a great thing. Unfortunately, Mr. FK is probably right that these guys can be very dangerous.
 good one fk!
🙁 warp tour is over so summer is over………
👿 fix please :40:
Eh, I like it.
:blech: fair enough
I like the largess, too. Cool!
Thanks guys, I’m happy he’s home.
I don’t feel like backing down to these jerkos. I will think about it, though. But bad things happen in the world when people are fearful and remain quiet in the face of hate.
