Money’s tight, and sometimes it’s tough to scrape together enough dough to heat your palace. I think we all know how that feels. Fortunately for the Queen of England, the UK is one of those socialist countries where there’s a safety net for impoverished folks to get a little help paying the utility bills. Or so you’d think. Sadly, the Queen’s request was denied. If Her Majesty might allow me to offer some help, might I suggest a pellet stove? Wood pellets are a renewable resource, and are so clean burning they’re even approved by the State of California (and you know how fussy those nuts are). Now, if “The Tudors” is any indication, you might have a bit of a tough time finding an insert to fit those humongous palace fireplaces, but maybe you can get the royal handyman to retrofit them or something.
Is House Minority Leader John Boehner fooling around with a lobbyist? That’s apparently the focus of an upcoming NYT expose, and I, for one, am shocked. Shocked because Boehner’s alleged affair is with a woman. I mean, who’da thunk a guy that spends so much time in a tanning booth and goes so freakin’ heavy on the mascara would be into chicks?
Well, after a ridiculously hot (and record-setting) 90 degree day yesterday, it’s supposed to be a nice, normal, mid-sixties Autumn day today. Thank goodness. It’s just impossible to get anything done when it’s that hot out. Not that I’ll really be getting much done today. But I could, and that’s the important thing.
Happy birthday to OKat (if I’ve got that right).
:cake: :cake: :cake:
For chillin’ Lil Queenie Lizzie II
Happy birthday :cake: Okat!
Happy Birthday Okat! :cake:
Happy Birthday! But you’ll always be Farmerkat to me.
I thought the real highlight of Colbert’s testimony was his answer to the question about why he chose to make migrants his focus. “Whatever you do for the least among us you do for me.” He answered the question not in his character.
As for how the right will play it, they will do as they always do. They are here to mislead and they will edit in what ever way makes their point. Accuracy and fairness are not in their playbook as their only interest is making sure enough dopes support their core policy of making the rich richer and the rest of us workers who will work for less and less.
I didn’t know Sammy had a girlfriend?

Or did he go to Sweden for a “vacation” a while back?
Anything that pisses off Steve King and Fux News that much is OK by me. Go Stephen!

An update on the serious issue referred to at the top.
Ahhhh, thanks guys
Been in Cubs territory for a conference and couldn’t remember my password for entry into this den of :gate: for the life of me.
Caught a cold while in the Windy City. My ear is totally plugged since flying on a migi-plane home (a commuter plane). Any suggestions to clear it? It hurt in the air, doesn’t hurt now, but I can’t hear from it. Suggestions?
:cake: Happy Birthday O- :billcat:/FarmerKat ! :cake: :yippee:
PJ & I hope to be FarmerKats soon, too …. or rather, he’ll be the Farmer :pup: and I’ll be the Farmer :cat:
Hope you had a great day!
Water as hot as you can stand it. Maybe some salt or baking soda. Tilt your head back as far as possible, point your tongue at the sky and gargle. If it comes through the nose, all the better. Clears and relaxes the eustachian tube.
Don’t ask but it won’t hurt you.

Re: cold. Oil of Oregano is worth a try. It is a broad spectrum antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal & does a great job. You have to be careful with it, though, because it is very powerful. It comes in capsules or liquid form. If you get the liquid form, 1 drop in an 8-oz glass of distilled or filtered water 2-3 times a day (along with chicken soup) should knock the virus down pretty well. If you have a sensitive GI tract, you probably should dilute it a little more because it’s pretty powerful stuff. Capsules might be better for touchy GI tract taken according to label recommendations.
Essential oils, eucalyptus, tea tree or lavender can be very helpful as well — rub a drop or two of any of those into the palms of your hands or the bottom of your feet several times a day so they are absorbed through skin pores & it will help open sinuses. Deep massage of the bones around the eye sockets does wonders to help open sinuses as well.
And, of course, make sure you are getting plenty of Vitamin D — if you can’t get sunshine, check out Dr. Mercola’s Vitamin D Resource information.
Good Luck! Feel better!
FarmerGranny => thanks much and I’m excited for you guys! pj needs a tractor emo.
Thanks Vern. I’m going to give it a try as soon as the Sooner’s game is over. I’m watching on MrFK’s behalf since he’s now at some damn outpost in northern Afghanistan. Like the rockets being fired in to their last base wasn’t enough….
Vern,
Your suggestion is good — but definitely better with sea-salt in the hot water.
Yep. I am defiantly a sea salt/kosher salt believer.
Got it FG/RG! Thanks so much!
OKat — PJ was mighty cute riding around in his little Kubota today and hauling dirt from A-to-B to fill in a swampy spot on Sister & Brother-in-laws forever-wild reserve down the road a piece from where we will be. He’s gonna be one happy Farmer :pup: when this deal finally closes & the thing is real.
Mr. FK is doing the Big Work to keep us all informed of the truth. I don’t know how we can ever thank him enough for that. I have the deepest gratitude, admiration and respect for the courage, fortitude and sacrifices that he, you, and your children have made and endured so that he can continue to do the very important work he is doing. :gate: I expect that our little Seditionist community here feels the same.
My prayer for Mr. FK & his companions in truth-seeking & truth-telling is that they remain safe and mentally and spiritually strong and intact. :jesus: :yinyang:
Great to see some familiar fac…er, signatures. Been too long…realized I’d not been back home when I caught Marc flashing Mehlman on the airplane. Yikes how time flies when in cryonic suspension.
And Happy Birthday to *Kat!
Back to bed for me, as I also caught a nasty cold this wee.
Later…
