Today, our munchkins are going away. A sad day for us, but a happy day for the critters who are quite unsure about these noisy little people. Sad, too, in that the Space Shuttle will be undocking from the ISS for the last time today, in preparation for its final return to Earth on Thursday (weather permitting). It’s also sad because this is my last day off, and I have to go to work tomorrow (this, clearly, is the saddest development by a long shot).
On the bright side, I got my computer parts yesterday, and crammed everything into the case, though I decided not to fire it up as it was getting on towards night time, and I didn’t want to get myself all aggravated right before bed (nothing like blowing up your new motherboard to ruin a good night’s sleep). So we’ll see if it boots up later on today.
For those of you with critters, I will give a tip of the hat to a little company called Little City Dogs. I was turned on to them by my sister. You can by dog and cat wormer for tape worms (Praziquantel) – beef flavored for the doggies, chicken flavored for the kitties, vanilla flavored liquid wormer (Pyrantel Pamoate) for hookworms, roundworms & pinworms, and Nitenpyram (for killing adult fleas while your Frontline or Advantage has a chance to work). By comparison, store bought Nitenpyram (Capstar) set me back $45 for six (unflavored) pills. Little City? $15 for 14 beef flavored pills – including shipping.
The come via first class mail from the Bronx, and the company was created by a single mom who raises Papillons, and who got tired of getting screwed on the price of meds. And she takes Pay Pal. I ordered some on Friday, and it came on Monday. Sadly, they sent me the wormer by accident, but when I e-mailed her, she told me to keep the wormer, and she was sending out 2 things of the flea stuff for my trouble.
So, anyhow, that’s my testimonial.
Alright, time for more coffee, and to try not to think about work tomorrow. Don’t forget to see if they make old Rupert squirm today (my guess, not so much and, anyway, squirming is natural for a slimy snake).
As mentioned yesterday, KO and John Dean are covering the Mr. Merdoch goes to Parliament show right now.
Au Current for now and hopefully for a while until Joel Hyatt makes the rounds.
Watergates parallels being raised. Nixxon and Merdoch both has a Co(u)lson.
New York City has abandoned merit pay for teachers after finding it has no affect on either student or teacher performance. But, they’re going to try to find a merit pay model that works because one should never abandon a bad idea especially if your mayor is a Republican.

You’ll be glad to know that according to KO, the man sitting behind Merdoch is :Joel Klein, ex-NYC Schools Chancellor, in charge of 2nd internal NewsCorp scandals investigation.”
I think the Murdochs are really, really sorry. That poor old man.
I think Joel Klein looks as he should be Murdoch’s son. James is rather young and good looking for a son of Murdoch.
I hope Mayor Bloomberg is proud to see how well his chancellor has done. I believe Klein is one of the people Murdoch has tapped to investigate his crime organization.
James looks like he should be smoking a cigarette at Mission Control in Houston.
Soary!
Jeezus! We just turned our lights back on and plugged the teevee back in after one of the most intense lightening storms I’ve ever witnessed.
There’s nothing I like more than watching BIG weather happening or even being inside it but this was on a level of intensity that was scary- like being in a movie as they say. And it didn’t just pass on like it usually does here on the front range. It seemed to be circling and chasing itself. Still some boomers going on close by.
We did have a pretty good time huddled together on the floor next to the wall without any  or local news :jerk:
#8 AWESOME video, Vern — thanks! Well done alternate time line — too bad we got the other one where he survives and creates the Evil “News” Empire :omg:
#9 – Art — glad you are back. We had one of those intense super-storms several weeks back. Lightning busted up a sh*tload of trees, rain like Niagara falls coming from the West flooded the backyard, pool and basement at the Homestead and a wall of water hit the hospital where I work, causing a drain pipe to break and flood the hospital lobby and most of the acute rehab patient floor. :omg:
Mother Nature ❓ /Mother Earth ❓ is not happy with us.
Chief Oren Lyons always said that things are never good when your Mother is mad at you (paraphrase) — makes sense to me. ❗
They talk about the climate changes going on as ‘being gradual’ and that we’d be ‘like a frog slowly being boiled with out ever noticing ‘ but I’m afraid that we’ll all be witness to things we never imagined.
We’re on track for record amounts of rain for July and in a major drought all at the same time :hot:
Mother is definently pissed
Well, we don’t have any global warming in our state, thank you very much. (They’ve never heard of climate change, so I won’t even bother with that term. ) We are rapidly approaching the record for consecutive number of days over 100. We are on the 47th day but the record is 50 set in 1980. But our problem is simply a lack of prayer :priest: We be heathens in this state, fer sure.
