It’s rare that the lo-cal news morons make me laugh (except for the weather guy – he’s just so goofy, likable, and corny, I can’t help myself), but today they showed video of Chaz Bono being booted off ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ and the anchor dude said Chaz “took it like a man.” :rofl2:
Sorry. I just thought that was pretty funny.
Not so funny, though, is the hint of snow in the air. Not a lot of snow, but it’s in the forecast for tomorrow. It’s sad to see, because you just plain never know how it’s gonna go around here, and I hate to see it start.
There are years when it gets cold early and stays that way and seems to snow every day. They even had the obligatory story on the DPW, which says they have 7 plows ready to go year-round, and four more that can be good to go in four hours. Not sure how long it takes to get the rest of the fleet changed over. And they say the “salt barns” are loaded and ready to go.
I guess I better think about getting the snow tires on.
There’s a cold front moving down from art’s neck o the woods. I love it, but my, is it windy out there.
Librul confession: I actually watch Dancing with the Stars. It does what it’s supposed to do – take my mind off everything else. Yeah I realize I’m subjecting myself to ridicule with said confession, but after working with folks who are in dire straights all day, I welcome the levity.
So here’s my two cents on Chaz Bono. I think he showed incredible courage to put himself in the limelight on DWTS. He appeared uncomfortable doing the show and he was clearly out of his element. Yet he put a ton of heart in it. His comments at the end of the show moved me. I hope they showed that clip on your lo-cal news, pj.
We’ve got our predicted 4.5 in (so far). Mrs Art will take my beloved 197000 miles (and counting) CRV out on the interstate and I’ll drive her wretched (in the snow) Civic on the backroads into Boulder. Trees are down south of us in Golden. I can only pray for a long power outage at work. :priest:
If you find DWTS entertaining, there’s no shame in that. I don’t. Hopefully there’s no shame in that, either.
Never was a fan of Fred Astaire dancing, either, and he could actually dance and wasn’t a B-list – to be generous – “celebrity.”
I thought Fred was great as Robert Wagner’s father in It Takes a Thief, though.
I frankly have a long list of mindless entertainment that I’ve recorded and will never get to to take my mind off of everything. I’m sure plenty of people would find my diversions stupid – and that’s okie-dokie by me.
Though I will admit that I can’t help but find any show that gives air time to Nancy Grace to be despicable – more so if that show pretends to be “news,” though.
Mindless entertainment helps me keep my sanity. I watch Project Runway, though dressing fashionably is not (and never was) my thing. I can sew though not nearly well enough to draw something and then proceed to construct it.
