Happy Earth Day, planet Earth. Back on the very first Earth Day, I was about nine and a half years old. That was a long damn time ago. Fortunately, during the ensuing 42 years (42 years! Holy shit, when did that happen?) we’ve stopped polluting the air and the water and the land, have made huge strides in getting off of oil (why, we Americans use a mere 19 million barrels a day) and coal with alternative energy, and are taking Climate Change seriously.
Yesterday was bleak and dreary, with rain pretty much all day. Drizzle, mostly, but cold. It made it impossible to do much of anything, so I cleaned my office (which has been needing it badly). I carted a lot of crap down the basement, and threw a bunch of other stuff away. I’m not saying it’s spotless, but I can actually see the surface of my desk. I should probably get around to painting the underside of it (not that I don’t like the look of bare 2x4s.
Today is cold. Just barely up to 43 degrees at the moment, and not supposed to get much warmer. I definitely need to get the grass cut, and am hoping things will dry out a bit before I get started.
Oh well, time to get back to doing whatever was I was doing while I wait for things to warm up a bit.
It rained last night and did a good job of soaking the ground with some much needed water. It started to rain again about 10 this morning and promises to continue. Rain is very welcome as a drought has been declared on the eastern end of Long Island and that can’t bode well for the western end which is Brooklyn. The weather report also predicts a lot of wet heavy snow beginning in Pennsylvania and extending to upstate western NY. No one has mentioned Syracuse and snow so I hope RG and PG are not facing a snowy day. Wet, heavy snow and leafy trees are not a good combination even if PJ has a nice orange tractor.
All the suggestions for the naming of the 3 dopes are very good but so far Cretins of Crap has my vote.
Well Chuck Colson is dead. He wasn’t the first person to claim the love of Jesus to get out jail early…but he certainly was the best.
I heard an inter view with Colson on Cspan. According to him he really did nothing wrong. What a creep!
Oooh, CREEP!
I’m sure if I expressed my true feelings about phony xtian CREEP Colson on the FB I might offend some holy rollers so y’all are stuck with me.
Bu Fookin’ who! :fu:
Well, the big worry around these parts is Chesapeake’s over-extension (speculation?) in the natural gas market. Since they supply about 8000 employees in OKC, a few folks are spooked.
Again with the Bu Fookin’ Who. Chesapeake should have stuck with oysters and and not taken on the oilsters. The energy mobsters don’t really want cheap for us. They want inflated prices that drive up prices and profits. When oil gets cheap they shut down and places like Lafayette go into the economic toilet. Nevertheless, those poor deluded folks will blame the gubment and the and the EPA rather that the energy barons who pack up and take their balls home until the windfalls return.
