I kinda sorta watched the game last night. For a while, anyway. I was watching the first couple of House of Cards episodes on the teevee while I had the game streaming on my tablet. Not a bad way to catch the action of a game you’re not really invested in. I think I finally shut it down when the score was 28-6, and I missed the blackout and the ‘niners almost comeback. Good thing – I stayed up too late as it was (and went over my beer quota, too; I got started way too early). So now I’m paying the price by having to suffer through a day at work. I only hope it passes quickly (so far, not so much).
Surprise! I didn’t watch the game either, but Mike told me about the blackout which apparently got solved. Let there be light.
What did you think of ‘House of Cards’? I am working my way through. I was exhausted by the game since I was a little invested. I slept for a good while to miss the usual post mortems so when the clock hit midnight I was up for a while.
Sad the ‘locals’ had to lose. I had my expectations in check but it was wrenching anyway. I don’t think that they are going away. It would be cool if they won the 49th Super Bowl in two years. It will be SB XLIX.
I like it. I think each episode is going to build on the previous ones and be really enjoyable. Some very good people in it, too.
Now, when’s ‘Political Animals’ going to be back on? And Veep, too.
Upon asking the Internets, I’ve found that:
Veep in April. And USA isn’t picking up Political Animals for a second season. Bummer – I liked that show. Sigourney Weaver made a good Hillary Clinton (though the guy that played the “Bill” character – Buddy – kinda bugged me, ‘cuz all I could see when I looked at him was him playing Caesar in Rome).
We don’t seem to talk much about Maron anymore but this week the boy has epis of WTF with Mel Brooks AND Carl Reiner.
Could be great.
OY!
:sdavid: :rabbi: :kub: :rofl2:
I listed to most of Mel Brooks today. Another 15-20 minutes to go. It’s one of the longer ones – over two hours. Very enjoyable, but the audio is normalized, so you can either hear Mel and have Marc shout at you, or you can have Marc at a normal volume and put your head up to the speaker to hear Mel.
Might not have been so bad had I not been at work and trying to keep the noise down.
