Wow, been a whole week since I posted anything up here. What a slacker. It’s mostly because I don’t really have much to say. Sadly, I still don’t (unless you want to hear how much rain we’ve had around here – which is a lot better than what’s going on in Arizona), but I figured I ought to put something up, lest everybody think I’ve retired (or died).
So, exciting things going in Egypt, eh? Looks like Mr. Morsi (or Morsy, depending on where you read it) is about to be shown the door (or, if he’s smart, he’ll find the door on his own and just slip out while nobody’s looking). You may see him hanging out with Edward Snowden at the Moscow airport pretty soon.
Have you heard that Dennis Rodman has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts at reaching out to North Korea’s L’il Kim? Well, assuming that it’s OK to nominate yourself, anyway. Funny, I saw an episode of Vice where it kinda sounded like that b’ball trip to North Korea was their idea, no his.
Everybody have a safe and happy Fourth of July tomorrow. I have no plans, other that to do basically nothing.
Happy Third of July to all the millions of true freedom lovin’ souls who took to the streets and demonstrated their rejection of an extreme religious fringe group hacking the constitution and imposing it’s righteous political will on the people.
I can only imagine what would happen if we had that kind of political will and power on our side :fist: …….,
oh, never mind :fustrate:
Not to be contrary but would we feel very comfortable if our military relieved our duly elected officials from power? I guess we have a SCRotUS for that but still, are elections only valid if the results make us happy?
If the military in this country overthrew the government (twice in a couple of years), then it would indeed be disturbing. But they do things a little differently in Egypt. This was kind of the Egyptian equivalent of a recall election.
What happens next will be interesting to see.
I don’t think the Egyptians have impeachment proceedings either.
I have been watching this in the last 24 hours.

I am wondering if they will be occupying the Current TV offices across the street from Pac Bell Park?
As for Egypt, I don’t know what kind of constitution that they had or when they had another election coming. Dammit, I am Amurkan and don’t need to know anything about other countries. I just know that the last institution that I would trust in this country would be the military.
I’d say the military is in a tie for last with the Legislative, Judicial, and Executive branches of government.
I don’t trust “we the people” all that much, either.
Not if they need to take a train to get there, I guess.
