We’ve gotten a brief reprieve from the super cold weather, and it’s been kind of nice. Yesterday it actually got up to 31°, which was a 35 degree rise from where we started the day (it was actually colder than that out here in the boonies where I live). Plus the sun was out for most of the day, so we took advantage of that extra 10 minutes of daylight we’ve picked up since winter officially began. And today it’s actually supposed to get above freezing – all the way to 36! It’s even supposed to get up into the 40s at some point after midnight, before the Arctic Express or Polar Plunge or whatever it is makes its way east and plunges the temps into single digits by morning. It’s not supposed to get as cold as it was a couple of days ago (or as cold as it is in the Midwest), but still pretty cold. If things get all melty out there, I should probably go out and scrape the driveway down so it doesn’t turn into one big skating rink. I’m really glad I’m off again tomorrow.
