We’re not feeling very well at my house, and I haven’t got much to say. But I felt obligated to put something up here before everybody thought we croaked or something. Plus we got enough snow to be tied with Worcester for the Golden Snow Globe, and I knew everybody would want to know about that.
Palemale and Octavia hatched there first chick, yesterday, Spring must be here.
No, I did not change my avatar to that purple thing! But, at least I can post a comment, thought when I tried to post “Feel better.” it was rejected as too short.
Something odd has happened with your account – you appear to have become a different person. When I look you up, you have only 13 comments, yet on the right, you have over 7,500. And I had to approve your comments, which should only happen if you hadn’t had one already. Has to be something with the new version of WP, though I don’t know what.
Do I have the same password?
Unless you changed it, you should. I think you changed your e-mail address, though, which is what your Gravatar is tied to.
I have a new emailo address. Are you saying I’m stuck with that purple thing?
You can go to Gravatar and create an account with your new e-mail address. Not sure if you can add/edit your current one or not.
Test
Test. I was having a problem posting ‘feel better’ yesterday. Seems to work now.
I had hand surgery Monday for CTS. So far…
Both hands? what exactly does the surgery do? Can you use your hand or is it cast? (Ignore purple thing.)
Since I live alone and recently relocated away from my support systems, I am doing them one at a time, They cut a tendon that impinges on a nerve and hopefully t will work. Left hand next month hopefully. My hand is wrapped in an ace bandage over dressing and gauze. I have some use of the hand but need to take it easy for a while.
I hope you’re not in a lot of pain. Recover quickly!
Pain has been minimal but I am fairly well armed for dealing with it.
Good luck with it all. Doesn’t seem like a pleasant thing to have to deal with.
Hope your recovery is going well, Vern!
Guys, thanks for the old time radio referrals; I’m having a blast listening to them. I’ve been in MO visiting this week. Great weather, thankfully.
sp, I think I read that there is a pair of bald eagles in NYC again!
I highly recommend watching Cowspiracy. Certainly opened my eyes.
Eagles! Wow! I once saw an eagle catch a fish in the Hudson. It was right next to the shore and it caught a footlong fish in it’s talons and flew into Central Park. It was a thrill. Lincoln of Palemale blog occasionally posts photos of eagles flying over the park. And, this winter I read that groups of them would ride down the Hudson on floating ice and catch fish right off the edge. So, it’s not impossible that a pair is nesting in NYC. Do you know where the nest is?
Palemale was the first redtail to nest in Manhattan and now there are 5 hawk nests in Central park and several outside the park. One nest is on a window ledge at NYU. Lots of bird watchers post pics.
Really it’s a thrill. I remember when the birds started to disappear. On Shelter Island there were no osprey one year. It has taken a long long time for them to repopulate.
Pollution and insecticides and herbicides are not good for the birds. Not good for us either.
Here’s the story in that lovely paper. I watched numerous bald eagles and osprey in WA state. Magnificient birds.
Staten Island? they must like Republicans. But I’m glad they’ve moved in.
PJ, I changed my email back to the original and added the new email to Gravatar after I got rid of the purple potato. The old email still works but once we sell the house in Brooklyn I will lose that account because it’s tied to the ever wonderful Time Warner account.
Will it flush? No. No, it will not. So stop trying.
Facial tissue? Fooled me. I am surprised she didn’t do paper towels, kitchen or restroom.
Oh, god. I thought she died at first.
Sorry. I should have guessed that. Her husband left a few weeks ago. For better or worse, I suspect this will be the opportunity for a major overhaul of The Daily Show.
Here’s more.
I’m kind of drawing back from the ‘dead beat’. I do try to recognize notable passings, usually of a musical kind. We just lost Ben E. King close on the heels of Percy Sledge.
