So, we all know what today is. It’s the day of the year that Guidi Ruliani walks around with a hard on all day, and the day used to justify the passing of the most fascist legislation since the Enabling Act of 1933.
Tonight at 9:00 (Eastern), the History Channel is airing (unedited and commercial free) a documentary entitled “102 Minutes That Changed America.” They’ve taken video from over 100 witnesses in NYC with video cameras (some news footage, but mostly amateur video that’s never been seen before), and cut it together in one chronologically sequential piece, from moments after the first plane hit, until after the towers came down.
People on the streets, people sticking their cameras out their windows, people trying to get closer, people trying to get the hell away, people hanging out the windows as far as they possibly can – people jumping. It contains all the reactions of those filming (as they – like the rest of us – called their families and friends), as well as the people in the streets, and the first responders.
I watched it last night, since it was already available “on demand” through DirecTV, and, well, it’s something to behold. Scary, creepy, sickening, sad – horrifying (an appropriate introduction to the Bush/Cheney era, really). It’s a far cry from that endless loop we all watched over and over again seven years ago.
I hesitate to say I “recommend” this film, but if you get the History Channel, I think it’s something you’ll need to watch.
In honor of 9/11 I will refrain from being the first commenter today.
I’m so tired of this lipstick on a pig nonsense (or as the twit on the Today Show said, ‘lipstick flap exploded’ – which is a somewhat disturbing image).
Obama should just say, “look, if I was talking about Sarah Palin, I’d have said, ‘you can put lipstick on a cu….'”
OK, well, maybe that wouldn’t go over so well after all.
I have to go to the Bronx, today to talk with some teachers and I have to avoid Manhattan because it is September 11. Streets are closed and traffic will be evil. I think they can stop these 9/11 festivals already.
I think that Rudy is the pig, with or without lipstick. I read that he was so excited at the reception he got at the rethug convention that he took an extra 13 minutes to say 9/11 a few more times. In doing so he forced them to move Palin’s little video introduction to the next night because he upset the schedule.
I can’t decide whose smile is creepier. McLame’s or Ghouliani’s.
Wow…a six minute clip and my keyboard is soaked 🙁 :smack: :gate: 😥
I hate this anniversary because I always feel mad.
And my anger is not well focused. I am mad that I have to relive this
event every Sept. 11 even though I’m sure that Sept 10 and 12 are anniversaries of something awful too.
I was sure, watching the first tower burn, that there must be an evacuation procedure and safety measures in place insistuted after the 1993 bombing. I am mad that this wasn’t so.
I’m mad about the police radios that didn’t work.
I’m mad about the NYC disaster headquarters being placed in the towers even after 1993.
I’m mad about Saudi Arabia which I visited in 1996 and found to be a terrible system to live and work under. Yet we prop it up with our
petro dollars and the military. Of course this system could spawn
the kind of anger that creates terrorists. Yet we continue to support it and other oil dictatorships like it.
I’m mad that I still need oil at all.
I’m mad at the spoiled rich guy, Osama.
I’m mad at Bush vacationing instead of taking the threats seriously.
I’m mad that we’ve still not had the kind of full and free discussion and investigation that might lay my anger to rest. There are still questions we’re not even suppose to ask.
I’m mad that no one has been held accountable.
I’m mad that either Obama or McCain would go to ground zero at all today which does politicize the anniverasry.
I’m mad at all the waste and grief that came to us on this day.
I know I’m supposed to be sad but mostly I’m just angry. A whole day of frustration and anger and yelling back at the TV and radio. These anniversaries feel like a waste too; just spinning my wheels.
ALERT!

Submitted by SEDER on Thu, 09/11/2008 – 12:17pm.
just a reminder…
No VOD from yesterday yet
Thanks Vernon. I thought Sam was mistaken yesterday when he said there would be no show tomorrow (today).
Now he can go back to saying “bandwidth, it’s the bandwidth” for a while.
Hey, with a little lipstick, this would look just like Sarah.
What’s the link to the Sam and Marc thing?
K-pea
I downloaded AIM for iMac and reinstalled it and it automatically went into the Applications folder after I clicked the install icon.
http.samsedershow.tv
Possible alternative links for MvS

Thanks :fire:
I don’t see anything.
Thanks Vern. It didn’t do that for me. I don’t see it. Maybe it’s on the hard drive.
I see it now.
Having one cam sure works pretty good.
I think the Smack Channel link might have the least traffic.
K-pea, search for the file InstallAIM. I save all of the downloads on my desktop.
Ha! I’ve got AIM installed and ready to go. What’s Marcs’ address? mmaron??
mmaron is all you need (he’s there now)

Like Colette, I’m mad. Mad that Ronald Reagan had such an insane anti-communist policy that he armed and trained a bunch of religious wackos in Afghanistan that turned into Al-Qaeda.
Alaskan womens’ groups rally against Palin

Wasilla was the only town in Alaska that charged rape victim for the processing of forensic evidence…..in the name of fiscal responsibility.
There’s also another “bridge to nowhere” at a cost of $400-600 which Palin is supporting.

Well, Sue, come on. Forensics is expensive! Surely you can’t expect the upstanding citizens of the future Republic of Alaska to foot the bill every time some hysterical woman accuses someone of rape.
Most of those women were probably asking for it anyway, driving the menfolk crazy strutting around in those sexy parkas and snowshoes. A guy can only take so much of that, you know.
I’m trying to come up with an idea for a Halloween costume. I might put on a suit and a McCain mask and walk around lying to people all day. The only problem with that is that my throat gets raw doing his creepy voice. My friends.
Maybe I’ll just be Billo and call everyone a pinhead.
:yippee: Yay! I finally got thye IM to work!! :yippee:
Maron v. Seder 9-11-2008 MP3 links
Submitted by Cat Chew on Thu, 09/11/2008 – 5:18pm.
Runs about 49 minutes.
This is odd. When I tried to post direct download links to FileDen, preview showed that the URL had automagically changed. This was added near the beginning of the address:
http://www.samsedershow.com/node/add/
Looks like pasting the (thread-stretching) URL will work, but I will run out of bandwidth at FileDen today anyway (I’ve already used 4.8GB and bandwidth reset is 26 days away), so here are links will take you to a download page at MediaFire:
Maron v. Seder – 11 September 2008 (15MB – 40kbps)
