Not much in the news this morning. Bush is ‘burrowing’ political appointees into Civil Service positions. Lieberman is likely to keep his chairmanship. The terrorist fist bump bimbo has been cut loose by Fux News. Obama’s DOJ isn’t likely to bother with piddly shit like prosecuting torturers. Bush’s DOJ is blowing off yet another Congressional subpoena. Our governor is about to budget-cut SUNY into oblivion (and he wants to kill the hospital side of where I work with yet another round of Medicaid cuts). Never fear, he’s also going to keep things fair and balanced by cutting money for schools, too. We have an inch or so of snow on the ground here in Syracuse, with another few expected during the day. And I have to force myself off to another mind-numbing day of work (while I still have a job) where I’ll try to keep from snapping and jumping out my ninth floor window. Same old same old.
The NYC school system spends about $320 million on its rating program. That’s the one that gives an A to a school in which only 1/3 of the kids read on grade level, ( but that’s more than the year before) and an f to a school in which 90% read on grade level but last year the percent was the same and therefore, according to the erudite, accountability community, that school has not improved. They could certainly save that money. I’m sure that find rating program will survive the budge cuts. Surely laying off teachers wll help the kids learn.
Gotta work!
Wacky holiday schedule begins for me. I lose my Tuesday comp days so I can have a Thanksgiving. At least I can’t be fired until after New Year’s – job security in a dying industry.
I just wonder where to go next.
Meanwhile, I’m taking part in destroying the economy by buying as little as I can.
That first news story is all about Bush’s scorched earth policy.
Lieberman keeps the chairmanship which once again proves this Democratic Party cannot stand up for itself and display any form of backbone. Looks like Mitch McConnel is running the Senate for another two years.
Sorry to hear that Anastasi. Which dying industry are you in? :reaper:
They hate us. They really hate us!
Don’t get your pjs in a twist!
😯
I guess I don’t have to give any money to the Senate Dems.
Yeah, I took myself off the DSCC e-mail list, and I don’t want to hear from them anymore.
Here’s another problem for the folks that are not averse to math. :barf:
A sofa is being carried down a hallway 9 ft wide. At the end of the hall there is a right-angled turn into a narrower hallway 6 ft wide. What is the length of the longest sofa that can be carried horizontally around? (only consider 2 dimensions, not the height of the hallway)
This year I decided to limit my campaign contributions to individual candidates rather than including the DCCC and DSCC. Today’s events make me glad I did.
The lone bright spot is that the Dems can still strip Holy Joe of his chair should he continue to display offensive behavior, which I guess would have to consist of actually attacking Obama physically or something, since calling him out as a terrorist seems to be OK.
Hopefully in 2010 the Dems can pick up some more Senate seats and throw his miserable ass to the wolves.
Sounds like we have a new AG.

Can he live up to the high standards set by John Ashcroft and Alberto Gonzales? One can only hope.
Don’t let them kid you with the ‘he can still be stripped of his chairmanship’ bullshit. If Lieberman starts to hassle Obama out of spite, there’s no way that he can be removed. It would be political disaster, along the lines of the Saturday night massacre. Obama wanted Lieberman, so he’s got him. Whatever happens is Obama’s own damn fault.
I guess it all goes back to Obama being a closet Republican because he admires Reagan
guess there are some good things about Texas:
Remember Delay was indicted in Travis County, Texas?
So approx. 21.65 ft for the sofa
Jeff had a great interview with Mark Emery today. A Marijuana activist for over 30 years. I sure miss it. :bong:

I like how Jeff affixes the Guy Faulks mask to his microphone after the show. :fist:
snapperlicious!
(and you wondered who voted for McCain!)
poor ted
That octogenarian can spend the remaining crepuscular years of his life with his family in that VECO home near Alyeska
I made a rounding error with the sofa problem. It should be 21.64. Not that it matters. I’ll probably forget how to repeat the recipe by next week.
:sammy:
I’ll match that :sammy: and raise you a
