Ah, Valentine’s Day. The time when a young man’s thoughts turn to, well, the same thing they turn to every other day of the year. Apparently it’s different for chicks (at least that’s what my nearly half a century of teevee watching has led me to believe). Otherwise, I haven’t gotten around to see what’s going on the world, having just watched another most excellent episode of BSG from last night, and now being in the middle of last night’s Psych (just occurred to me that I hadn’t put out a thread for today). I did see that the House Republicans are still the same patriotic and helpful bunch they’ve always been. Goodie for them. I hope it drives the Democrats to leave them out of the loop entirely. If they can’t be helpful then they’re best ignored. Now, back to the show….
Give a Neanderthal a hug today.

Any inside track info on where the Full Show and Post Show podcasts for 2/13 for Break Room Live are?
I’m in withdrawal…help!
bb, I have been looking and nothing yet. Seder said they would be posted. The show did not get out live except for a last couple of minutes and an abbreviated post show but I am sure they do them anyway since they act oblivious to the problems. There were a few shots at Mogulus in the after show.
That they have gone this far and are still this inept is just inexcusable, insulting and disrespectful. I blame Seder, of course. He doesn’t seem to think it matters that the live show fooks up because you can catch the replays and podcasts later even though that takes some effort. It doesn’t matter that people make the effort to get there for the live and that is their AAR face.
My two pennies say that the did this to be in a holding pattern for an AAR slot and if this thing crashes and burns soon it won’t matter so much to them.
Meanwhile, Hartmann has made a new syndication deal so his future at AAR is unknown. Randi may be having a dispute with Nova M and is AWOL with a fairly lame sub in her slot. I guess Marc or Sam are out of the sub pool since they are currently AAR but then again Randi seems to be threatened by talent that might make her look bad. Nova M seems to be in some turmoil anyway.
For anyone who’s interested, Mark Riley has landed at RootsUpRadio:
http://www.rootsupradio.com/RootsUpPodcasts/tabid/59/Default.aspx
This seems to be the online home of out-of-work progressive talk show hosts. They are hoping to save local progressive talk particularly.
Thanks, Colette. Riley is always hard to keep up with.
This should make KP happy:
House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers, Jr. (D-Mich.), and Immigration Subcommittee Chairwoman Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.), Constitution Subcommittee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.), and Crime Subcommittee Chairman Bobby Scott (D-Va.) called on Attorney General Eric Holder and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to investigate allegations of misconduct by Maricopa County (Arizona) Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
Sheriff Arpaio has repeatedly demonstrated disregard for the rights of Hispanics in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Under the guise of immigration enforcement, his staff has conducted raids in residential neighborhoods in a manner condemned by the community as racial profiling. On February 4, 2009, Arpaio invited the media to view the transfer of immigrant detainees to a segregated area of his “tent city” jail, subjecting the detainees to public display and “ritual humiliation.” Persistent actions such as these have resulted in numerous lawsuits; while Arpaio spends time and energy on publicity and his reality television show, “Smile… You’re Under Arrest!”, Maricopa County has paid millions of dollars in settlements involving dead or injured inmates.
“Racial profiling and segregation are simply not acceptable.” said Conyers. “Media stunts and braggadocio are no substitute for fair and effective law enforcement.”

Amid skyrocketing layoffs and mortgage foreclosures, several states and the federal government are pushing new rules to stop employers from unfairly screening out job applicants who can’t pass a credit check.
Five states are considering laws that would restrict credit checks by employers. Stuart Ishimaru, President Obama’s acting chairman of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), is a vocal critic of the checks and has called for the agency to begin issuing guidelines on how such checks should be carried out.

I downloaded 2/13 this morning through Itunes subscription- no problem. They’re blaming mangollis (?) for the problems. Sam said something about going to something like you-tube. Someone IMed Sam about using Cenq’s youngturks technology.
Burning:
haven’t tried listening yet, but this is the link i got for the boyz via aar’s email.
Happy Valentine’s Day! MMMMwhaaaah!
Pitt wrote a good editorial:
art, does iTunes have the video or is that just audio? I’d rather not go there to look since I avoid at all costs.
The current vidcast is run through Mogulus and they were talking of going to ustream. The vidcast has been sputtering for a while, live and replay.
They were bristling about the Cenk taunts. Not sure it was serious.
Art – The only thing for 2/13 I found at iTunes was an audio podcast for the main show. What I’m looking for are video podcasts for the Full Show and the Post Show Chat, as listed at http://airamerica.com/breakroomlive/video. I go to this page daily and grab the Full Show and the Post Show Chat by using Orbit Downloader’s Grab++ utility.
49N 122W – Thanks for the link, but that’s for 2/12. I tried “2/13-izing” it to http://airamerica.com/blog/2009/feb/13/break-room-live-taped-version-021309, but that results in a 404 error.
So, I guess I’ll download the audio podcast for the main show from iTunes while it’s still available, and hope for more later.
Former Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s brother solicited U.S. Sen. Roland Burris for up to $10,000 in campaign cash before Blagojevich named Burris to the coveted post — something Burris initially failed to disclose under oath before an Illinois House impeachment panel, records and interviews show.

GOOD! Damned employers might as well be sticking a fucking probe up your ass! :fu:
Although, maybe they want the people with bad credit because they have more of a need to work. In any case it’s none of their business.
Re: 6 Oh yeah, now that she’s in the fed she’ll go after him. She needed his support when she was running for governor. But I have mixed feelings about her.

burning/vernon- sorry this is so late. There’s no downloadable video yet. I think that’s what they’ve got in mind by dividing the show into two parts, that the first part would be offered for video. I didn’t realize until after I resubscribed that the audio would be free. The only way you can see the whole show in video is the looped replay they’ve got going every day after the show. It should be archived by now. The audio is the whole 57 minutes or so.
ps- I think all of the pretaped video ‘bits’ are on youtube.
Damn, Burnin’ Vernon was my pinball moniker.
I’ve never seen a replay of the “show” and the after chat in one place. The after chat does not play on the loop I watch.
I subscribe to their YouTube vids and there has been nothing new for a week.
These people do not know what the fuck they are doing (and I am not talking about Maron). Hard to imagine why Seder’s film career hasn’t taken off.

Hey Kev, hope you’re okay dokey! :gate:
