I don’t really buy into all this bird flu panic shit (unless they’re planning on releasing something around election time to kill a bunch of us and invoke marital law under a “health emergency”), but it’s nice to know that the Bush Administration has the best minds working on a solution, just in case.
Here’s Health and Human Sevices Secretary Mike Leavitt’s plan for the avian flu:
“When you go to the store and buy three cans of tuna fish, buy a fourth and put it under the bed,” Leavitt said. “When you go to the store to buy some milk, pick up a box of powdered milk, put it under the bed. When you do that for a period of four to six months, you are going to have a couple of weeks of food. And that’s what we’re talking about.”
Hey, Mike, I’m on it. I’ll keep my canned tuna handy, right next to my duct tape, and my two boxes of “emergency” wine. Bill Frist would probably suggest we grab an extra cat or two from the shelter, too. If you don’t need to eat ’em, you can always pick up a copy of “So, You Want to be a Surgeon” and get a little practice in.
The Chimp’s gonna be in my neck of the woods today, as he flies in to Rochester, and heads off to the Canandaigua Academy, apparently to try and sell his prescription drug plan to senior citizens. Yo, dubya, just tell ’em to stash a couple extra cans of cat food under their beds. Who meeds medicine?
Home ill today, but I got to listen to Marc live! :yinyang:
(oh, and FIRST :billcat: )
Be Well………. it seems that it’s going around (I’m just over it. Tummy is still gentle…:yuck: )

Bird flu. Brought to you by the same idiots who recommended plastic sheeting and duct tape as protection against terrorist attacks. Please. :crap:

:fist:hi kong!!!!! how goes it?
Mornin’. So, now they just cut into Maron’s show instead of doing the full 2 hours? That blows.
Sean–where’s Maron’s CD in that lineup?
A spill on the bike kept me home today, but I got to hear Marc live. Personally, I’ve started dating a girl that’s too young for me. ๐
Didn’t get much sleep, but this time because I was EXCITED! I really hope nothing goes wrong today to keep our boy from coming home. When they brought him into the visiting room last night, we could see from his eyes that he was Otis again! Even bundled and bandaged, the eyes were clear and full of personality. Damn that morphine patch! He’s coming home with the feeding tube, though, which was unexpected (only for us; friends who have experienced this kind of saw it coming, but we–childishly, I think–just kind of figured Otis wouldn’t come home till he was “better”).
He’s going to need a lot of care; good thing I work out of the house!
:fustrate:hey what am i gonna do mail order it?
:banana:i have the book though!
:hubba:maybe i can find it in a store someday?
:paranoid:its not like i dont look for it!
:banana:maybe one of these days i will get out to la and i can just stop by the studio to get my copy
Finally caught up on last night’s blog, and I want to thank everyone again for their support and for sharing their experiences with me. It helps more than you can imagine.
Man, I love this place.
Ah. Hadn’t thought of that, Sean.

KK–Sorry! I didn’t have anything to say. ๐ณ
Hey, CK, good luck with Otis. You deserve some stress free time at your house. I hope that feeding tube comes out in a hurry.
The Midwest has to be the most boring place to drive on the face of the earth. Once you get past about Fort Morgan going east it all looks the same until you get to Tennessee.. The hog farms and fertilizer plants even make it smell the same.
kahn- don’t fret, the fluids I may need replaced aren’t collected by the Red Cross (as far as I know) ::nixon:
I didn’t get the recording either. It says the file is corrupt and won’t play it.
Well, today’s gonna really blow. From the NWS:
Gee, I hope it doesn’t affect the preznit’s trip today.
There are some really good liberals in Iowa.
Plus, I think Jason is from there.
And the orrent isn’t up yet. fuck. I gues it’s Stephanie Miller then.
Ha! The first time I read that, I thought it said “libraries.” But then I saw “IOWA” and reread the sentence.
KK . . . exactly how young is too young?

Waaaahhhhh!:holla: I have nothing to listen to. I can’t get Stephs stream to work now!:holla: This is not starting out to be a good day, dammit.
When reading the news about abortion rights and the teaching of creationism I didn’t get the impression Iowa had many liberals.. Maybe they have a part time unpaid legislature, only one daily news paper and lots of FOX news watchers just like South Dakota. Maybe the people who live there still don’t know what the rethugs are doing in their name.
Wow KK, is she out of diapers yet?:hubba::grin:
KP, check your e-mail.
The Des Moines Register has a reputation as a left leaning newspaper and Jesse Jackson had a strong contingent of supporters from Iowa back in 1988. I’ve never considered it in the same category with South Dakota or Nebraska. Maybe Jason can weigh in here.
KP- she’s beautiful, funny, kind, and the emotional level of ahigh schooler. damn. what am I doing?
:omg:!!!!!!!!!!!!
:jason:Frist!
Thanks PJ, I think I got it to convert the files to mp3 although I got an error message and then it proceeded to do it anyways, so we’ll see if that works. I wonder if KTLK is doing something to the file to make it unreadable? Or very difficult to listen to? I dunno.
Congrats KK, on proving you still have it! I’m just giving you shit because that’s what I do!:rofl2:
Mine was fine.
Iowa senators are split with liberal Tom Harkin and republican Chuck Grassley.
They’re doing better than missouri where I live. Both of our senators carry water for Bush. Although, Jim Talent(R) looks like he will be facing strong opposition from Claire McCaskill(D) this year.
Kong–what level high school? I mean, if she’s got the emotional level of a senior, okay . . .

The Clippers are kicking ass this season. They will probably win 50 games. Pray for first round elimination.:jesus::omg:
Hey, I’ve still got it. It’s just that nobody wants it anymore.
KP- I may only keep it ’cause my friends keep me in check. ๐ฎ And you’re one of ’em. ๐
Des Moines, Iowa. I remember going to Des Moines in 1988, to support mark Curtis, an activist with Swippies who got framed by the Des Moines cops for rape. There were a lot of lefties there, as I recall.:omg:

Heh, heh, heh . . .

The parts of Colorado where there are real farmers and “rugged individualists” with county estates ( and maybe a horse or two) are the places that elect people like Tom Tancredo and Marlyn Musgrave to the house, Why is it that the rural folks are that way ??

Thank You, from the bottom of the birdcage.
The Lone Star Iconoclast staff wants to thank everyone who sent us words of encouragement during the days following publication of our endorsement editorial in 2004. The neo-cons came after us, fully loaded, and you helped us feel as though we weren’t alone in the quest to bring truth to public discourse.
Unfortunately, the editorial was prophetic in that many of the issues upon which we touched have evolved into a nightmare for our nation.
We also want to introduce you to a book that our staff has written called “The Vigil – 26 Days In Crawford, Texas.”
The Iconoclast reported thoroughly on Cindy Sheehan’s August 2005 visit to Central Texas. We have compiled details of this coverage, including play-by-plays, exclusive interviews, editorials, and our reporters’ impressions of the history-making events into the 192-page book, published by The Disinformation Company, New York.
One reason we wrote “The Vigil” is because it is a textbook example of how a peaceful revolution can be started, from a detailed eyewitness point of view. The nuances, dangers, surprises, and strategies are revealed, as is the heartbreak that attaches itself to universal emotions on all sides of the issue of war
What could have been another Kent State was capably handled by Texas peace officers, even when emotions reached their boiling point in the Texas sun. In Crawford, Sheehan gave birth to the first viable anti-war movement of the 21st century and jolted the mainstream media into again asking some tough questions.
“The Vigil” provides an interesting look at history in the making, as it happened. The book sells for $9.95 per copy. It is available from Amazon and is in many bookstores.
We ask that you consider buying copies for yourself, friends, and as a donation to your community library. This will help us immensely in defraying some of the costs of publishing the Iconoclast, which is still being boycotted in and around Crawford.
Please feel free to forward this message to others whom you feel might be interested in the book. The link to our book on the Amazon.com website (where you can also leavea review, if you wish) is:

I have the chain saw but you are closer to ‘them” than I am.
Didn’t Bill Clinton perfect this “seeing which way the wind blows” mentality of governing? As I remember it he governed by consensus rather than leadership. Maybe the democratic party is still tied up in this philosophy.
How do others remember Bill Clinton’s style of leadership? It seems so long ago!
The wind seems to be blowing in the remove rethugs direction but the the lobbyist money is obviously blowing in the opposite direction. The congress critters are not going to represent the people no matter what party they belong to.. we need a guillotine smiley face. Maybe the applied use of this :jason: will work as well.:fu::mad:
Hey everyone!
Did you all get the show yet? I actually listened to it…short, huh?I didnt really understand what he was saying…that when it goes to sattelie we will get 2 hours again…..on Snippers nights or in general?
WIND!!!???…damn…hope it blows the Prez out of the sky! Is it down here too? I havent even turned on the news because so much is goig on this morning, much to the dismay of my painful back!
From what I gathered Marc said that the show in general has been reduced in length to one hour until it gets syndication.. Apparently KTLK can’t afford him.
But- will the censure go into the record officially without a majority of the entire body? Thats what I need to know….
If anyone can call for censure and it just needs a certain number of votes thats one thing, if it needs the majority then its an act on Feingold’s part…he seems really good and sincere, so I lean in his direction…but I want to know…
Im gonna go lok it up now.
Every time I search censure of a sitting president I get sent to Clinton’s impeachment papers….so is censure the first thing they do before impeachment? still looking…
Well, now the kid is awake and …lets see h ow much research I can get done…ugh
Censure is just an official “you’ve been a bad boy,” and it can be done in either House. It requires a majority.
If not approved there is at least a record of the vote, and those with the guts to stand up for the rule of law and the constitution of the United States. Predictably, the Republicans are blustering to fool the world into thinking this would somehow refelct poorly on Democrats who vote for it. Even more predictably, the cowardly Democrats are running away. How many times have you heard the “pundits” say that a lot of Democrats have a hard time dissing Bush over Iraq, ‘cuz they all voted for it – again, out of cowardice. Only Feingold has the cred to stand up and say, “I knew this was shit from the start.”
Again, he will be one of the very few who can say they took a stand for law, and the constitution.
Articles of impeachment are first drawn up in the House of Representatives. Also reqires a simple majority, if I’m not mistaken. If approved, it’s like an indictment, which goes to a trial in the Seante. Conviction requires a 2/3 majority.
So they are just cowards…or they dont want to take a chance going through the motions until there is a majority in one house….
I’m really not fond of most of these people…dems…
On the other hand, I do think that this censure and impeachment thing will happen…its coming.
I wish there was more of a way to get these dems to act in unison ore often because it really looks like were all over the place.
I like Feingold…and what hes doig is gonna be o the record…to bad it will look like one maverick doing something rather than the way we all feel. I wish there was a goverment record of the people’s wishes beyond what these politicians say because certainly, most of em arent supporting us!
I think the dems in essence work ( pronounced get paid (off) by) for the same people that the rethugs do.. Those people promote Bushes policies. Most of the dems are also wealthy people to begin with. With the local political machines in most states not supporting much participation by the individual citizen ( unless you are independently wealthy) this oligarchy is just going to continue. Laura Flanders is on the road on her show on the weekends and finds that political change is easy…. in states like Montana where they have fewer state residents than would typically commute on Chicago Metra each day. Even in Colorado there is an established “machine” that only makes the concerned citizen want to go home and cry or investigate how to take the VIN numbers off a rental truck.
Finally subscribed to ARR premium so that I can listen to my beloved Marc and Jim and have been listening A LOT for the past day or two and I want to say …..
HEY, GYPSY!! I am a cook, I live in Portland and I would LOVE to join in on the cookbook. Should I just post some recipes here? Or is there another blogspot where I can get in touch?
The Conventional Wisdom, apparently, is that voting for censure or speaking the “I” word above a whisper would alienate “moderate” voters who “decide” close elections. CW so far had lost them the House, the Senate, the White House, and given a solid 30’ish year lock on the Supreme Court to the fringe right wing loonies hellbent on taking away our civil liberties, putting complete control of the government in the hands of corporatist fascists, and the complete dismantling of the New Deal.
They have no guts, no vision, and no clue, at a time when the President and Vice President are solidly unpopular, untrusted, and unable to even play the terrorism card anymore.
Frankly, I think they’re just isolated behind the beltway, and have no clue just how strong a position they’d be in if they’ds just get their heads out of their asses and have a look around.
And, yeah, they are, by and large, bought and paid for by the same people that have bought and paid for the Republicans, except Abramoff and his ilk managed to squeeze out all but their own lobbyists over the past decade or so.
Hey, we’re past the 50,000 visits mark. :cake:

Hey, Sean, I’d stop eating meat, but I just bought corn beef for St.Patrick’s day:40:
travis, I was thinking about not eating any meat- yah or nay?
It’s up to you, man. I don’t know much about that diet. I’ve always been an omnivore, so I’m kinda reluctant to change. I guess if I saw more naked woman in the street, I’d adhere to their prescription:nod:
haha i cant read, nevermind ๐ณ
We could ask Dr. Maddow ๐
Air America Radio is crazy. They just lost all of their buttons at the top of the page, except for the home page button:growl:
I was just kidding about naked people in the street. That could be dangerous. Imagine how many car wrecks there’d be.:omg:
haha, not to mention how much money clothing stores would lose!
That’s not how I heard it. I think when he’s syndicated, they’ll do the full two hours every night (probably “join in progress” on KTLK on game nights) regardless of the games, but on KTLK they’ve decided to just do the show until midnight – even if the game dealys the start.
I guess we’ll see tonight, but they still have him listed as 10 – 12 on KTLK.
Hey Travis, seems like there’d be an awful lot of frozen naked people up your way.
Death toll up to at least 86 in the past 30 hours.
I’m glad this isn’t a civil war.
I think we could figure out a way to warm them up:omg:
It’s too early for this talk.
Judge to force Google’s hand
It’s just astounding to me that they can order this to happen – not as evidence in a criminal trial, but as part of a “study” designed to resurrect some bullshit law.
i dont see how revealing information will help- why doesn’t the government solict help from people who have knowledge of this stuff instead of doing that crap.
Lets see what we accomplished politically today
1. I have learned that the Dems are fleeing from Finegold
2. Hartman says get politically active.. I downloaded a PDF on how to find the VIN number locations does that count.?
3. Franken has this guy on saying that the dems are not going to “win big” in Nov because of gerrymandering and no message. ( note item 2)
4. My crystal ball says that next we will have Ms screech giving us a history of the screw ups of the bush admin ( iteration number 651) and telling us to vote for Democrats. ( note item 1)
like I said previously
Left wing talk radio will go down in history as being similar to the boy that kept running below decks on the Titanic reporting what deck the water was up to now.
Well, if Dems lose big in the midterms I may have to withdraw from the world and society forever….
I know that Feingold has balls and he has real principals, but he also has an agenda that Im not so sure is going to end up looking again like we have no control and we scatter…why wouldt they try to get a buch of themselves together ad make a pla of some sort. I guess we will only know if and when the Dems get power over one house or the other ….If they dont then…whatever….Im done. Its being handed on a silver platter and…this is crazy.
Mom called in the middle of craziness here and I was cleaning the dog run while she railed on about the dems and how great feingold is and how its all for the record…just to get this into the record so that the dems who are bad can look bad and the record will know that the president deserved this….withor without the power to carry through, the statement needs to be made, sez Mom.
I defer to her usually (except that she thinks OJ was innocent!) but am still unsure what this is really all about.
I do think that the government as it is now is full of ball-less cowards who lack vision.
They are showing Ann Curry’s 1st installment of the Darfur story on MSNBC again…incredible!
What is this? I get the mail, and amongst my techie magazines and computer catalogs is a catalog called “Full of Life: Ideas for active healthy living.” And it’s got shit like “easy faucet grippers” and “restless legs cream” and a goddamn toilet tissue holder that “reaches where you can’t” which I don’t even wanna think about. Full of Life. Yeah, I know what that means: “Damn Near Death.” How the hell did I get on this mailing list? Although, they have a 2-page “intimate care” section with some interesting products, like the “ergonomic love cushion,” and the “synergy pleasure massager” (which looks like my cordless toothbrush bent at an angle, and with 5 very funky-looking attachements and 6 speeds for “greater variety”). Except the pictures of the people using these things look like my parents. :yuck: There’s an image that’ll have me reaching for the “penile support sleeve,” or the “rejoyn ring system” that boasts “resusable silicon non-latex contruction rings.” Maybe I’ll just order a jar of “natural arousal” cream to toss under the bed in case of bird flu.
Hey, people should invent something to put on glass bottles, so when you’re really messed-up you don’t break a tooth while trying to take a sip.:40:
Maybe I’m the only one that’s worried about doing that:doh:
I always leave out words:doh:
What’s bad is when you’re drinking out of bottles for a couple of hours, and then you switch to a glass, and you dump half a beer in your lap.
Or worse, when you’re using one old half full bottle as an ashtray, and you’re drinking out of another one, and you get ’em mixed up. :barf:
C’mon. We’ve all brought the bottle up to our faces a little too quick at some point in our lives, right?:rofl2:
I know what ya mean, PJ

French students revive spirit of 68
by Angelique Chrisafis ; Guardian (UK); March 13, 2006
From behind the makeshift barricade of tables, desks and chairs that sealed off the amphitheatre of the Sorbonne, a 21-year-old philosophy student crawled out and made his way down to the wall of riot police that kept watch outside one of France’s most prestigious faculties yesterday.
Florian had been up all night leading angry philosophical debates among the 150 students holding the first “occupation” of the Sorbonne since student protesters took over the building in Paris’s Latin Quarter in 1968. On that occasion, it was Vietnam, Algeria and the antiquated rules of their superiors that spurred students to action. These days, it is something far closer to home: unemployment and a hugely controversial government measure to try to combat it.
The prime minister, Dominique de Villepin, wants to force a measure through France’s parliament designed to alleviate unemployment, paradoxically by making it easier to fire workers aged under 26 years. The measure would introduce a new form of work contract, le contrat de premiรจre embauche (first employment contract), which gives employers the right to let employees go after two years. The hope is it will spur employers to hire young people safe in the knowledge they are not obliged to retain them.
But the move has provoked a vigorous backlash. More than 400,000 people joined street demonstrations across France earlier this week, and by early yesterday about half of the country’s 88 universities had been shut down by student sit-ins…

This quote from a senate aide via http://www.rawstory.com
Was that one of Lieberman’s aides, or Clinton’s? I guess he was wrong on Iraq, too. I dunno, the Democrats’ strategies have worked so well this far, I guess Feingold should have just rolled (over) with them. Seems to me that it was the Democrats who assured a “victory” (if that’s what this is) by Bush by running and hiding. There will be no fucking hearings or investigation on any of this, that was the point. The only spotlight Feingold got was by being deserted by his fellow Democrats.
Since the demodorps are not in power the probability of having hearings is zero, zilch, zip, nada so we would have to wait until they got back into power before anything could happen. Now it looks like 90% of the people over at DU are going to partition to have the site renamed to Green Underground.
I thought that quote gave a good look at just what is on the minds of the democrats :billcat:
It seems like the democrats are irritated that the populus is getting in the way of their usual way of doing business. If only we would just shut up and leave them alone.
No way :fist:

Thanks fred, I signed the petition.
Me too. Thanks Fred.
Yellow Journalism:
http://www.cnn.com/2006/TECH/internet/03/14/google.hearing.ap/index.html
Even as it defied the Bush administration, Google recently bowed to the demands of China’s Communist government by agreeing to censor its search results in that country so it would have better access to the world’s fastest growing Internet market.
So, saying that you can’t have all the results to a query is the same thing as saying that you can’t see what our customers have been looking for? What dirtbags, what nasty wastes of carbon. I’d love to put a name to my rant but there was no byline by the CS toady “reporter.”
Maybe Hugo Chavez should raise a stink because Google Earth agreed to censor “sensitive regions” at the request of the Bush Administration. GRRRRRRR.
It will be intersting to see how the Democrats will act if and when they gain power. My hunch is that there will be little change. Perhaps some things a bit better, some things worse. Of course, an intensive, sustained, mass mobilization will change everything.:omg:
:fu:Frist!
:fu: Democratic leaders!
From my personal experience with the local democratic machine there is not much difference between rethugs and demodorps. The elite always rise to the top so its a dual of dollars all the time. Now that the elite are on their third or forth generation the average IQ has plunged to the point where I can see that their ivy league school degrees were probably purchased by their daddy’s. The system is ruled by the land developers and the fact that we don’t have any more water is not sinking in very rapidly. The Coors family and the Anschutz’s are the big movers and shakers on the rethug side..Anschutz is such a big peace that he actually owned the Denver and Rio Grande railroad and bought the Southern Pacific which he combined with his Rio Grande and sold to the UP. ( this was in 1998 not 1898). There are no demodorps who can even marginally compare. Salazar was a compromise ( spelled abortion) who got the votes to win from the Dodson’s and New Life. He represents some big corporations that are buying up water rights as small farmers in the Arkansas river valley and the San Louis valley go out of business. The influx of Hispanics over the last five years or so swung the election for the state house to the democrats in 2004. The Denver metro area now represents some 60% of the state population.
Good Morning!
Oh, I guess I’m late to the party.
I quickly skimmed, but signed Move-on’s petition, Fred.
PJ, you are the FUNNIEST. Between the dog peering at you in a box and your magazines…..
Haven’t read t ALL, but am trying.
I’ve been helping a horse farmer friend around here deal with some creepy f*cking people (REpublicans, of course) who she gave two of her beautiful well-bred horses to train and own because she thought they’d provide a good home, but ended up …one is 300 lbs. instead of 1500 and the other was slaughtered. I’m so sick of the selfish mentality of Americans. Truly.
I wish I could say what I think about American journalism, as a whole, but I can’t. Please know that there are some real people out there whose lives are on the line as I speak, who try to tell the story. I have some understanding of how things may or may not hit the airwaves and it oftentimes does not reflect the opinion of the reporter.
Hey, FK. The real jouranlists are still out there, but there aren’t many Fred Friendlys left out there to back them up, and with “for profit” being the driving force instead of “public service,” it’s a wonder the truth sneaks out to the extent that it does. I have a lot of respect for folks like Mr. I just hope he gets the hell back here safe and sound so he can be at your beck and call and get you up on your feet again after you little upcoming vacation.
300 pounds? That’s truly disgraceful. I’m not pro-death penalty, but for some things I might be willing to look the other way.
hello Seditionists!!!
wow…a lot has happened today…mostly stuff that makes me angry………..Damn Dems!! grow a fuckin’ spine ya bastards!:fu::fustrate:

Iraq Edges Closer to Open Civil Warfare (March 14, 2006)
Iraqi “Police” Death Squads (February 21, 2006)
Here we go; I need one of these.
Hi everybody…well, pretty depressing day all in all… and now I am so upset about the horse….FK, do they arrest people for neglecting animals in such a horrible way? Around here they do but you have to catch them red handed and theyve usually done really bad stuff….I just cant get my mind around starving an animal when there are so many rescue groups that will take in just about any animal…
Just really disgusted with humanity today.
FK- I hope Mr is OK and being extra careful…I dont like to hear that the govt. is still denying civil war and yet they find so many bodies hidden here and there, tied up and shot….
Im just getting the feeling that things are so screwed up that the American system might not survive…and I dont kow if this is a place I want to be in if it stays this way.
So many people out in the world seem clueless…I guess I know more than the average person about this but, how can people go about their lives while the very foundation of what we rely on is being chipped away?
PJ- thats is sorta like my phone but with the bluetooth you can keep it in the belt or in the bag, so you dont need a wrist thing….but its windows mobile and Im still figuring that out…I really like it alot!
so have we got a clear two hour show tonight?…I read it to mean that the snippers would preempt however much they did with the aftershow allowed whatever it is allowed contractually…. but on no-snipper nights he would do 2 hours still. It will make it hard for him to book guests on those nights but will make the whole replay setting thing easier on the end side.
Hey Frist et al.:fu:

PJ, I think I did something to the blog with that last post. Anything I can do to correct it??
Looks OK to me.
At first, the link ran over. I then put it on the second line. But, it’s ok now.
I didn’t realize Feinstein had introduced a censure resolution on Bill Clinton back in the day!
The blogosphere is awesome!
I downloaded “IRecordMusic” last night and struggled with setting it up on my new Intel Imac. I never could get it to record the KTLK stream. Luckily I still have my Power PC G4 Mac. So I thought, I’ll download the program into my G4 to see if there might be a incompatibility issue with the new Intel processor. “iRecordMusic” runs perfectly on my G4. I’ve set it up to record Marc’s show tonight. But as a backup I’m recording the show using Replay Radio AV on my Dell laptop, at least until I’m certain that “iRecordMusic” will work without a hitch while I’m fast asleep. Hopefully Marc’s show will be the full two hours tonight. I thought something was wrong this morning when I woke to find only an hour of the funny. You have to be a true Marc Maron fan to put up with such bullshit. Marc we love ya man, but please try to work on the delivery method. You may wish to check out the podcast page on my site by clicking my name below. Ignore the stuff about me being gay if it offends anyone here. I’m not a flammer, nor am I looking for recruits. Just trying to claim my space in this world. I know the neo-cons and homophobes wish ppl like me would just go away. But I’m here to stay. ๐
Hey, cnick, all are welcome here, even Mac users. ๐
Tell you the truth, so far, BitTorrent seems to be the best way to get the show. I record it, and had last night’s show edited before the torrent was posted, but not by much. I kind of enjoy capturing the stream and recording it, and, frankly, I still don’t trust AAR Premium to get the show to me on time. Have to see what happens with the syndication. I want the damn show on when I can listen to it live though, damnit!
Thanks PJ, with all the money I’ve spent on “Replay Radio AV” and “iRecordMusic”, I really need my head examined knowing that one can download “Bittorrent” and all of Marc’s shows for free. I always seem to go about things backwards or is that bassackwards? Wonder why? lol Well I’m outta here. It’s my bedtime (9:30 P.M. CT) . . . gots to get up at 4 am and I needs my sleep time. Cheers from Birmingham, AL., we’re not all rednecks down here.
I know what you mean. I tend to buy shit on impulse, and then see if I can’t figure out how to use it – or figure out something I can use it for. Nightie night.
Just out of the blue, does anybody know where I could get a good, inexpensive digital camera?
Yeah, I’ve seen that one. I used to have a treo 650 for work, and it was OK. The 700w’s are kind of nice, too. But a PC you wear on your wrist that runs Linux? Gotta have it for my collection.
How inexpensive Travis, and what sort of features do you want? Steve’s DigiCams is a great site for information and reviews. When you find what you want, do a search on Froogle.
Cool, thanks. I’m not really sure what features I’m looking for, but I know my budget range.
Oh Travis, I could have sent you my old great Fuji but I gave it to my ex good for nothing boyfriend who moved back to N. Carolina with it…Seems like you can get just fine cheap ones at the big chain stores, but also you might get a great deal on ebay…just be sure to use only people with high feedback. Sellers with great powerseller type feedback dont want to mess around with their feedback for anything…I liked the fuji finepix alot, and now I have the tiny cascio and dont like it as much because its so small that its hard to get good pics that arent dark or shaky.
Now I want (someday) a bigger nikon with more zoom……even though tiny is great, I find that bigger is easier to hold still. Also, depending on how big you want to print, you may not need alot of megapixels…so it will be very cheap.
I will ask around and see who has what. In my family people keep upgrading and there might be one more around.
I love Replay because I save a ton of different shows with it….Marc’s is the least of it, but my favorite by far!!…
Oh man. east coasters…there is a big change in the weather coming with this wind and apparently they see SNOW!!!
Cant face it…am switching to JOn….
Yeah, I find Replay to be more than worth the cost, and AAR is just a fraction of what I record. As far as my listenership goes, they screwed up when they ditched Sirius, and then killed MS. They went from being my 24/7 “must” radio, to just another option that I don’t even catch all that much – except I go out of my way to listen to Marc.
Melina, we had snow all day today. It’s a winter wonderland up here.
EKKKKKKK!!!!! It was 60 degrees here today. Im not complaining because I like snow, but its the temp. shift that seems to be hurting my health….
By the way, I take it your grandpa is still around and about? If so, tell him he’s got a house full of fans who really appreciate his work up here in Syracuse.
Hey, thanks Melina! I’m not really experienced with photography and I think almost anything will suit me just fine. I have an old 35 mm canon that i take pictures with and then I scan them. I kinda want to get away from that:doh: Plus, I’m going to Seattle for the summer and kinda want to document that trip.
Yeah, 60+ yesterday, and snow and cold today. I like it, ‘cuz crappy weather makes it easier to take the dog to the park – less “fair weather” dog walkers.
See Trav- hereis a new fuji 5.4 megapixel with a nice medium body and a seller that seems to have great feedback…and its got 8 mins left and is up to $150….
Ive had good luck with Fuji, Sony, nikon…less with the tiny cascio….though I know many people who LOVE the tiny cascio….
It depends on what you need it for…if its for snapshots then most anything over a couple of megapixels will do…but you live in such a beautiful place that it may be worth it to get a better camera…
Rob Chodry doesnt do this week in God very well….
its so much better with digital…also great for ebay selling, which I do quite a bit lately!…unbelievable what people will buy…
Good night everyone…very long day of workmen and my kid not feeling good…I think that hes having growing pains because he is in so much pain in his leg bones….but also has a joint disorder too so…?
I put a deposit down on a tiny baby green cheeked conure…still bottle fed but ready to wean in 2 weeks…and so sweet!! Its a tiny little parrot!F.or my birthday. I wanted a small parrot and the new roomba scooba
heh, “..asked Olberman how he escaped the gravitational pull of Chris Matthew’s head”….colbert.
“Subliminazi cropaganda”…colbert
Have great show…enjoy!
Where in the leg bones? That could be serious!
Just want all to know I am runnin’ and doin’ and readin’ and writin’ and workin’ and lurkin’ and feedin’ fire and goin’ bananas :rofl2:

I wonder if my pelting them with emails abut supporting Feingold will have ANY effect on Murray and Cantwell. At least Murray had the balls to vote no on the Patriot Act renewal…maybe she’ll jump on this bandwagon too. I’m so sick of the rhetoric! :holla: Doesn’t the proverb “Actions speak louder than words” mean anything anymore?…sigh….
Will someone in the blogosphere living in CA please ask Feinstein what the hell she was thinking? ๐ก
Maybe clips of Colbert will make me feel more optimistic….
On a random note…I’m glad to head Otis is doing better! :billcat:
Ok off to cynically reflect on the days events….see you guys later when it’s showtime!
Hello, Gajinda. I’ve been wondering where the Far East Seditionists have been. Yo, Tom, Jason. You guys lurking out there?
I know, what happened to those sheeple?:gate:
Well, I’m going to go floss. And since they haven’t figured out a way for you to floss and blog at the same time, I’ll just have to see you guys in a little while.
Bloss? Flog?
It’s the end of the school year right now so I know I’ve been busy making and/or grading finals exams and getting ready for a week-long trip back to the States. It’s hard to tune into the show live every day because I don’t get off work until it’s half over. ๐ I look forward to listening next week during the normal hours! ๐
Enjoy your break, and your trip back to the states.
Thanks! I haven’t been back to the States since October and must admit I’m looking forward to getting out of here for a while.
OK….gotta get back to “work” for a bit…it’s only 2:30pm here so I can’t look totally unproductive for anoter few hours or so.
I hope you enjoy your flossing Travis! ๐
