On Press the Meat today, it’s Afghan president Hamid Karzai and Pakistani president Asif Ali Zardari, on to tell us what kind of burkhas they bought their moms for Mothers Day. Also up, New Yorker magazine
President and author of “Ghost Wars: The Secret History of the CIA, Afghanistan and Bin Laden, from the Soviet Invasion to September 10, 2001,” Steve Coll and the NBC news Chief Foreign Affairs correspondent (rumor has it she was also the inspiration for Katherine Helmond’s character in Brazil), Andrea Mitchell.
Over on CBS, it’s the one, the only, Montgomery Burns, Darth Vader, Charles Foster Kane, and the Penguin all rolled into one – Dick Cheney, on to prove that there is no god, otherwise this asshole would be dead or in a Syrian prison. Why anybody would want to be in the same room as this piece of filth – let alone put him on TV – is beyond me.
On Fux News Sunday, Weaselface Wallace has General David Betryaus, and prissy little Polident spokesweasel Newt Gingrich. Plus the usual fuxheads, of course.
On the Goebbels network, George Snufalufagus has National Security Adviser Gen. James Jones, St. John McCain, and a roundtable with the Axis of Drivel – George :jerk: Will, Cokie “the hag” Roberts, Sam :omg: Donaldson – with former Labor Secretary Robert Reich.
Later, on 60 Minutes, a bunch of regurgitated stories including a story on the Boston Red Sox, the life and death of Ashraf Marwan, claimed by both Israelis and Egyptians to be their greatest spy, and Lara Logan on unmanned flying weapons.
To all you mothers out there, Happy Mothers Day.
Welcome back, pj. Did you watch the new Star Trek a bunch of times or just run the multiplex on one admission?
The obvious
Kim Strassel from WSJ on Fox News Sunday this morning looked like a 6-year old putting on her own lipstick. The new fuxhead likely won’t last.
Meme is that Democrats knew about the torture techniques. Don’t ever forget that ‘CIA rhymes with CYA’.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO ALL THE MOM’S ON THE BLOG (including those here who have doggies & such instead of the human kind)
Lola had her first day at puppy school where she did very well and so did hubby.
Happy Mother’s Day, all.
New compromise measures supported by Diane Feinstein and Arlen Specter may pave the way for the passage of the Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA).
With 900,000 union members in the state of Pennsylvania, the Arlen Specter firewall appears to be crumbling. He knows he can’t win a Democratic primary in Pennsylvania without labor, and they have made it clear that their support is contingent on his vote on Employee Free Choice.

I called my mom and sent her some chocolates too. 🙂 I think it’s time to float in the pool. Gotta enjoy it while I have it. Man, I’m going to miss it when I move into my new place. 🙁
:blues: Hey, love the new emoticon.
If only it wasn’t so damn hot there.
President Barack Obama’s plan to provide medical insurance for all Americans took a big step toward becoming reality Sunday after leaders of the health care industry offered $2 trillion in spending reductions over 10 years to help pay for the program.
Hospitals, insurance companies, drug makers and doctors planned to tell Obama on Monday they’ll voluntarily slow their rate increases in coming years in a move that government economists say would create breathing room to help provide health insurance to an estimated 50 million Americans who now go without it.

When are you moving KP? What’s the house like?
Sometime in June. The closing date got pushed back a bit. It’s a block house, adobe style and it needs a lot of work. But I’m getting a loan to fix the place up. It needs an ac unit and some electrical work, a new kitchen and lots of piddly shit etc, etc…and every surface repainted. It was built in 1935 and has a nice sized yard. I’ll have studio space too.
Lots of luck, KP.
I just ordered a new HD. I wonder if I’ll have to wait long for the new OS from Apple to makes it way onto the shelves- some time in June is what I’ve heard.
