I didn’t watch the President’s presser last night. I’m glad he took his case for health care reform “to the American people,” though I don’t really know what they have to do with it. Nice to keep ’em in the loop, I guess. From what I’ve read this morning, health care wasn’t an interesting enough topic, so the intrepid press moved along to more important things, like what if Obama got caught trying to break in to the White House (which is an easy question to answer; they’d claim he wasn’t born in this country and ship him off to Guantanamo, where he would reluctantly have to agree that they have a right to keep him there indefinitely without a trial).
I guess the serious urinalists are all atwitter (so to speak) over Obama’s outrageous claim that the Cambridge police acted “stupidly” when (according to the police report) they arrested somebody at his own home
“…after exhibiting loud and tumultuous behavior, in a public place, directed…at a police officer…[that] caused citizens passing by…to stop and take notice while appearing surprised.”
Well, shit. Nothing stupid about that; I’m surprised they didn’t cap his ass. Oh, I know what you’re thinking….
You didn’t realize your home was a public place, and you were unaware of the law against “loud and tumultuous behavior.” But, damnit, people took notice and looked surprised! Shameful. Ignominious.
Damn that Obama! Well, whattya exect? Them people always stick together.
Harvard people, that is.
I watched Obama. I thought he did a pretty good job. He repeated that without reform Medicare would break the federal budget, premiums would continue to rise and more and more people would lose healthcare. This led Tweety to say that he had not really made the case for reform and to agree with his cohorts that the real news was that Obama took the side of Prof. Gates.
This just shows how wonderful a free press can be. Of course it went on for hours, a short time span if you compare it to the coverage of the world changing death of Michael Jackson, but, given that these twerps had a lot of air to fill with the air in the heads, they concentrated on the things that they could babble about and at least thought they understood.
The advantage of having 100 or 500 or 1000 channels is that you get to hear the same drivel, endlessly, from people wearing similar clothing in different colors. Oh joy.
It’s Perp Walk Thursday for a number of NJ elected officials: The feds have arrested Hoboken Mayor Peter Cammarano and Secaucus Mayor Denis Elwell, as well as Jersey City Deputy Mayor Leona Baldini, Jersey City Council President Mario Vega and many others (such as rabbis and community leaders) in a money laundering and corruption (political bid-rigging) sweep. The Star-Ledger reports, “Nearly 20 people, including Cammarano, Elwell, and Vega, have already been led into the FBI building in Newark to face the charges.” NBC New York, which has a photo of newly elected Hoboken Mayor Cammarano being hauled in, adds, “Arrests and searches are underway across Jersey City, Secaucus and numerous Hudson and Bergen county locations.” The arrests are expected to take place until noon—stay tuned!

At least it isn’t Brooklyn or Syracuse!
2 N.J. Mayors Arrested in Broad Inquiry on Corruption
Oh well, I knew it couldn’t last that Brooklyn wouldn’t be tied into corruption.
3 mayors, 1 deputy mayor, 2 assemblymen, 1 former assemblyman, and 5 rabbis on charges including money laundering and illegal organ trafficking.
But the real news today: did you know Obama called all policemen stupid?
“urinalists” :rofl2:
Good one pj.
Yeah, I liked that too but it took some mental gymnastics early in the morning.
Your mind’s just not in the toilet enough
