Hey, where the hell did the week go? I have to get up and out of the house fairly early today for my CCNA study group (we have a lab today, which ought to be thrilling), so I guess you all will just have to blog amongst yourselves.

hey i wanted to be number one again!
AAAARRRRRGGGGGG
How’s things :sheep: le ?? Whats happening at Stonehenge this am ?? How was Maron last night ??:fustrate::paranoid:

great LONG show last night!
Hey Fred
Are you the same as Fred123 from Denver? Just wondered what happened to the blog for 760. I miss bashing Jay Marvin.
Maron had one of his best shows last night- bringing back memories of MS before goldberg murdered it.:fu::fu::fustrate:
Mornin’, :sheep:le!
McCoy Tyner! Holy SHIT!!! I gotta start getting to work earlier in the morning if they’re going to book guests like that.
:banana::banana::banana:
HE’S……
Wayne Gilman.
Hey quietgirl, how did your final final go?
The animation is very cool. Maybe that can be your production logo. Melting Kitty Productions.
Later :sheep:le.
Yes … Blog for 760 ?? I didn’t know they had a blog ..Marvin in too centerist but he does bring up local things..
Just in case you thought some Repigs actually had souls. Not to mention scruples.

morning :sheep:ple
that was fun last night – woke up to hear the mr.
art, I was surprised he said that and was rolling in laughter!
thanks to PJ for helping to facilitate the emails.
Great show last nite!….I think that Marc’s best format is at least 3 hours…I want him in Sam and Jeaneane’s place…and them in Al’s place….and Goldfuck in hell!
why does nobody say marc in als place?
i have always assumed thats where he would end up and why switch around the timeslots of two shows?
:fu:
Keith Olbermann talked about this last night and it’s incredible:
Hey FK, I didnt stay up long enough to hear…what did Mr say about Goldf**k
I have to edit it down, but my keyboard died last night and I can edit it but not name it…so I may just put it in itunes unedited…ugh!…at least there is only around 1/2 hr of snippers talk at the beginning….
Do you ever wonder what was in the media
In Dresden the day before the allied air force blew it off the face of the earth.. What was in the newspapers. what was on the radio.?? Im sure there was nothing about clouds of B25’s and B17’s the next night.
Morning all,
It was great to hear the show live. It was just difficult to turn it off so I could get some sleep! It just feels wrong.
I am just sick about this Iraq stuff. Even Chris Matthews, who was just on with Imus (and is apparently the #4 commentator for conservatives, after George Will,)has all sorts of clips of the president lying…he seems incredulous that the president would come out and start talking and that you could pick out the lies in these speeches…lies on tape!!! If he had spent a few minutes with AAR…Rachel, Al, Sam…all of them always play the lie tapes together with the other lie tapes….
Matthews acts as if its the first hes hearing of this…and its so blatant…
This must be a social experiment…right? It cant relaly be happening….
The pod is up!!!!
Krista, did you hear the whole thing? I made it till 1-ish EST and then had to get to sleep…then at 6 there were a few wet noses in my face…oh well…new bed coming today and maybe I can take a nap on it!
So is the Reich wing media going to sacrafice heir dictatordorp for the sake of the rethug party ??
Wow…maybe someone will get the Torrent up early too…
Sounds like AAR/Marc/powers that be have had a little talk with the AAP place folks….or they took my advice and got an intern. Thats a job for Seanie…he could be the podcast editor and intern…I know he was hoping for sidekick, but you gotta take what you can.
fred, I think its too late…I think the repugs have the stink on em….I hope so anyway
One interesting thing asshole Matthews said was that he sees some of the runners up cancelling eachother out and Edwards somehow shining in the primaries…I love edwards. Feingold/Edwards or Gore/Edwards…or visa versa….maybe Edwards and someone of some color, NOT Obama….
Stream sounds AFU from last night. Bummer.
Oh, Did those wierd devil noises get recorded? I was thinking there was some kind of satanic message in there.
PJ, quick question.
The font on my posts on marc’s blog seems to be bigger than most. 😯 How do I correct this? Should I correct this?
I signed off shortly after you did Melina.
melina, when he signed off, he mentioned he’s “mr farmerkat” and that when he was home I had the radio on and he couldn’t sleep past 6 am everyday and there was now proof that radio execs never evolve past the salamader stage…or something along those lines. He made me laugh.
(guess he’ll never work in radio again! :rofl2: )
I had a great stream, even upstairs and wireless through a door (Linksys’ new super power thing)…Ill have to check what I got. Just the freakin keyboard…as if there wasnt enough goin on without haveing to uninstall and reinstall a zillion times…I guess I should try to reset the box or some such. I want a wireless keyboard anyway. Im so tired of all these wires!
Thats great FK…did Marc seem to get it?
Poor Marc keeps saying that hes got a huge thing goign on…and I’m imagining that behind the scenes is not pretty for these guys right aorund now…but at least hes got a format to show them that hes got a following and is a great host.I hope that Marc has Mr on regularly as his world expert/war expert.
And I hope hes getting started on that book too, as soon as youre on the mend.
How are you feeling, BTW, are you calm or worried?
I had a real good stream too:!:The phone was clear from Iraq and it was so great lot of info to the point, it seems like the last few on Mark R. they were so bad it took away from the info big time:!::doh:
:jason::nixon:
Absolutely!
Hey, how are YOU feeling? Wonder how CK is feeling, too. Was thinking about that last night.
i waver between calm, terror, resignation, frustration…… thanks for asking. wish I had a better choice than fix or no fix and get congestive heart failure.
Hey ISI, it’s probably a setting in your web browser – to override CSS settings or something (your font looks the same to me, using FireFox). If it doesn’t bother you, I wouldn’t worry about it.
My stream is clear, it’s just that at the beginning, anyway, it jumps into the show out of nowhere, and then jumps into and out of commercial and mid-Marc once or twice.
I just went in and listened to the Mr. interview, though, and I really enjoyed it. So did Marc – I think he’d really like to be doing more political and news stuff. I wonder if they’re handcuffing him on that – DG telling him “no, no, the ‘people’ want entertainment.”
I’ll tell ya, I think we ned to start SRN – the Seditionist Radio Network. Any lotto winners or billionaires out there lurking? How about you folks from Lehman Brothers? Got a couple million to invest? I’m more than willing to quit school and work on it full time.
Ach! Pod people! They sure can make you sleepy with the things they say.
Chicago congressional candidate Christine Cegelis on what her narrow loss to Tammy Duckworth means for growing progressive grassroots party activists.
:omg:
that’s sweet, lj, thanks!
he’s excited to get “out” of there. He’s really tired. He feels lucky that he can leave and feels horrible that the average iraqi and the soldiers can’t just leave and get a break. He’s actually excited to play Nurse Cratchet.
i bought my first lottery ticket during the last big one in the hopes to win and buy stations. Think I could improve my chances if I instead started up some kind of business and made a fortune.
I agree with you big time.
PJ- if youre still around…what is this thing with the stream switching to a snippers loop midway through? It has to be the stream because everything else is perfect with Replay!
Did you ever figure it out?
Ive got a perfect 1.40 of the show and then it says “…clippers to start again in….” and the clip keeps repeating…but the wave doesnt look like its the same thing over and over…strange….
NC,
guess i’m now a podperson :billcat: (it has been easier for me, though, and they’ve been getting the podcast up much quicker since we started using quotations around “premium.” :paranoid:
off to take the dorks for a walk who are driving me nuts.
:fire:
Fred, about comment 20. B25s no, B24s yes. Two-engine B25s couldn’t reach Dresden from England.
Dresden. Ask Kurt Vonnegut about it. He spent a couple days in an improvised bomb shelter called Slaughter House Five. It was part of a period referred to as The Big Week when the 1,000-bomber raids began. If you really want to read about a horror from the skies look up the B29 firebombing of Tokyo. Over 100,000 people died from that one, more people than died from the Hiroshima bomb in August, 1945.
nicki – link?
A fellow Seditionist who is a MAC user asked me to post this as a way to record Marc’s show. She has been trying to listen since it started and I haven’t been able to send her shows.

Farmerkat, my comment was a misquoting of Frank Zappa’s Pojama People.
Hey Melina – I think there’s something that gets screwed up when WavePad imports it. Probably a time track or something gets corrupted (I’m not familiar enough with mp3’s to know exactly what’s in there). It seems that when I listen, all is well, but on those that got screwed up, it’s when I try to jump around and edit, that things get whacky.
The reason the Dems can’t stand up to Bush is that they actually believe in this foolish war. They aren’t afraid or spineless, as so many claim — they just support the president and his imperialist ventures. If Kucinich opposes the occupation, as he and his supporters have said over and again, then why is he still a member of a party that overwhelming backs it? Where the hell has he been, anyway?
:omg:
I believe cnick uses irecordmusic, and after a little bit of effort, has been happy with it.
European 1930s German jazz finished the whiskey and threw up groaning into the bloody toilet, moans in their ears

who barreled down the highways of the past journeying to each other’s hotrod-Golgotha jail-solitude watch or
Birmingham jazz incarnation,
who drove crosscountry seventytwo hours to find out if I had a vision or you had a vision or he had a vision to find

& brooded & loned in Denver and finally went away to find out the Time, & now Denver is lonesome for her heroes…
.
Oh, I don’t think what the dems “believe in” has anything to do with their spinelessness. I don’t think they’d have any problem saying that the war was all wrong and jumping all over the Republicans in order to gain power – and then doing a 180 on the issue, and saying it was a great thing.
I do, indeed, believe they are (for the most part) spineless, conniving, manipulating calculating, bumbling hypocrites. Especially the DLC’ers with all the money. Kussinich? Who knows where he’s been. For all I know, he’s been hollaring at the top of his little Keebler Elf lungs, but who would hear him with all the mics turned off?
Thanks, pj. Guess I’ll leave it alone.
The show last night was sooooo much fun!
Marc enjoyed it also. When he signed off he said he was happy to bring it to everyone. He sounded touched.
I enjoy Marc’s interviews. Last night was a real treasure trove: Jeff Greenberg on the “whiny republican study”, John Amato from crooks and liars and Of course, the Hit of the Night (I would expect nothing less from a native oklahoman):
Mr. Farmerkat
Can’t get much better than that 😀

thanks isi!
when I was walking (which has gotten to be a shorter and shorter walk) i realized i need to make a confession :priest:
there are many people who can not be “fixed” from their illness/disease/mechanical problems. I am one of the lucky ones. I shall not complain.
Hey, FK.
First off, I want to thank you for thinking of me. I have been lurking but not posting much because I’ve just been so incredibly cranky about being cooped up for 10 (count ’em) days now! I’m doing okay with the strep–not sure how big a difference the antibiotics are making, but I’ll just have to trust that they are working. Sick enough to be uncomfortable most of the time but not sick enough to sleep most of the time, which would be preferable. Okay, enough complaining!
Because I truly don’t have anything to complain about. This is not life-threatening and is really only an inconvenience that doesn’t suit my vision for the week. So thank you, through your confession, for helping me see that.
Otis is doing really, really well. His appetite is back, his walk is improving, and he’s tried to bite me a few times while being petted–all good signs. About this, I’m thrilled. It’s great to have him back. I’m hoping at his next visit (Monday), the vet will say he no longer needs to be confined to one level. He has tried to sneak upstairs several times (he’s faster than we give him credit for) and pines at the basement door. So he’s “ready,” we think. Really amazing, when you consider where he was two weeks ago!
Just got this from a friend with three kids. It actually made me feel better:
:rofl2:
CK- great news abotu Otis…so sorry that the sickness has really taken hold. I was totally out for 3 weeks because I waited a week to go to the DR….unbelievable….
The water tank guy said that everyone has this strep/bronchitis thing and that it lasts so long that after a few weeks you just get up and go on with your life even though youre still sick…ugh! Hopefully if you really really rest you will just get over it.
My friend (who got it at the same barmitzvah as me and then got on a plane to Israel) was so sick with 104 fever and the whole thing, and then dragged herself through Israel, when half the trip cancelled and went home, and is still sick…
So…the message is REST, even if it kills you!
If you want any shows from AAR or books on tape, let me know and I can transfer them to you…
Also, try to cut some fresh ginger root up in the bottom of your tea with lemon and honey…after drinking the tea, eat the ginger. Eat as much as you can because it really helps the throat and is great for the immune system. And take 500 mg of Vit C 3 or 4 times per day, spaced out so it absorbs… the kind you mix with water is great. Im into these isotonic vitamins that suspend perfectly for maximum absorbtion 😮
Just feel better!!
Hey, some of these anti vaccine parents have chicken pox parties to infect their kids so they dont have to be immunized….Strep is everywhere…you could always stick your head out the window and spit on people. That should work!
I suddenly have the urge to wash my hands!
🙁
I wrote you back a nice long post and then the blog went bonkers!
Short version: Thanks!
Hey FK- thanks for thinking of me too! I was busy trying to blog and I sort of skipped that post….
I’m just so-so in that my ribs seem to be ripped or some such…maybe I tore a ligament from coughing so badly…? Or its a blood clot (unlikely) or gallstones (also unlikely)…I tend to be healthy except for this screwed up lyme disease problem…but that is managable if there arent extenuating circumstances. So, Im just trying to take it easy and get some stuff done that doesnt involve alot of movement :omg:
it seems muscular but I cant put my finger on how I couldve done this…Im someone who goes to the gym 2-3 times a week and does the reformer and everything…I would know if I lifted something or somehow strained my back…but there was that horrible coughing
I hope to go and visit my baby parrot, Tweet, later on. Visiting the parrot store has really been a high point for me lately. They have some hatchlings who are just the cutest things…but I am in love with a 15 year old bird there named Jose, who belongs to one of the shop people….and my Tweet, of course!
Im gonna download the torrent and listen to Mr now….
The was posted over at DU:

You know, this guy just doesn’t think any laws apply to him. If Congress doesn’t anything to stop him, how far will he go?
Did anyone look into the Supreme Court ruling on warrantless police searches at shared households? See how that dirty son of a BITCH Roberts voted–along with fuck-face Clarence and Benito Scalia? Alito was not available to vote.
Where were the fucking dems when it came time to veto these creeps?
That was an unbelievable caller just now with Sam Seder. He said he wasn’t troubled that Bush said he was not bound by the constraints of the Patriot Act. He said the reason he is not worried is because Bush is a Christian and that his conscience serves as restraint. He was dead serious. 😮
Those are the kinds of people that you’d like to have seen “interrogated” by the Spanish Inquisition.

The Racist War on Immigrants
Jim Crow Goes Fishing
By TODD CHRETIEN
Speaking in Cleveland, President Bush called on Congress to end “catch and release” [WTF!] practices on the border with Mexico. He wasn’t referring to recreational fishing enthusiasts who catch large mouth bass, snap a picture and then release them back into the water. He was talking about INS (now Homeland Security) agents who round up undocumented workers trying to cross the border, harass and threaten them, and then issue them summons to appear in American court. President Bush and Congress are preparing legislation that makes it clear that they have as much (or little) respect for immigrant workers as they have for freshwater fish.
In typical fashion, the House Republicans have passed bill HR 4437 (the Sensenbrenner bill) that only a Klansman could love. It makes simply being an undocumented worker in the United States a felony, and it makes it illegal for anyone (teachers, social workers, firefighters, anyone) to help that person in any way. HR 4437 dismantles forty years of civil rights legislation and officially reintroduces Jim Crow into American law. . .
:omg:
http://www.counterpunch.org/chretien03242006.html
Randi Rhodes is talking about Neil Bush.:rofl2:
Remember this ditty from the first Gulf War?
Draft George Bush.
Draft Dan Quayle.
Draft Neil Bush when he gets out of jail.
:omg:
About that delusional guy on Sam Seder:
What can you really do about Bush zombies? What if, for example, you had a best friend, otherwise a great guy, who for some inexplicable reason refused to abandon Michael Jackson, no matter what the evidence showed, who refused to believe the ugly truth about what type of creature his musical hero actually is. Would you scream at him, beat him up, bombard him with books and magazine articles demonstrating conclusively that his beliefs in the man’s fine character were foolish and indefensible? What would his reaction be? Is there any probability that this onslaught would get the desired result? No, as Benjamin Franklin [Poor Richard] wrote, a man convinced against his will/ is of the self-same opinion still.
There’s nothing you can do that’s effective, and its detrimental to argue and berate. A person has to come to reality on his own. Like everyone else, I have a friend who is a life-long republican who still hasn’t abandoned Bush, and I ignore the subject. He’ll figure it out, and if he doesn’t, why quarrel with a friend where it does only harm? Bush is in the 37% neighborhood now, and by the time he finishes, he might be down to 37 people. Patience.
Essay by Gabriel Kolko:
[…]Doctrinally, there is no constraint on American action; indeed, the Bush Administration only finely honed all the reasons for taking initiatives that were articulated before 2001 and taken them to their logical conclusion: it believes passionately in action. But war in Iraq again confirmed what Korea and certainly Vietnam had revealed much earlier: militarily and politically, the American way of making war is no better than those the Germans or French, English or Russians, had undertaken before them. War simply does not resolve problems between nations, whatever they may be, and those that attempt it invariably end up far worse than when they began, and unforeseen complications create crises it may never resolve. Wars have profoundly and increasingly scarred the human condition for centuries…

Randi just said,
If a national movement calling for the impeachment of the President is rapidly emerging and the corporate media are not covering it, is there really a national movement for the impeachment of the President?

Covering Israel/Palestine
US Media Bias
by Remi Kanazi; March 23, 2006
On July 18, 2005 14 year old Ragheb al-Masri sat in the back of a taxi with his parents at the Abo Holi checkpoint. An Israeli bullet penetrated his back and cracked open his chest. His mother screamed as his body lay lifeless. Have you heard his name? I wouldn’t expect that you have because CNN, The New York Times, and The Washington Post didn’t report the killing online. If they had quoted his parents, their readers would have been able to feel their tears and envision the heartbreak. Ultimately, no Israeli soldier was arrested or even reprimanded.
Every time a suicide bombing strikes Israel, mass coverage of the tragedy begins instantly. Whether landing on the front page of The New York Times or taking up the headline block on CNN.com, the pain Israeli people endure is shown endlessly. Israelis do suffer. Suicide bombings are horrific. Nevertheless, Palestinian pain occurs far more frequently, and yet often overlooked by the mainstream American media.
Since the uprising in September of 2000, more than 3800 Palestinians have been killed in the Occupied Territories as a result of the conflict. Most Americans are unaware of the toll because it is not properly reported. In 2004, If Americans Knew—an American organization that exposes and examines the facts of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict—reported that 808 Palestinian conflict deaths occurred while 107 Israelis conflict deaths occurred. The study, however, found that The New York Times covered Israeli deaths in the headline or the first paragraph in 159 articles—meaning in some cases they covered the same death numerous times. In contrast, The New York Times only covered about 40 percent of Palestinian deaths—334 of 808—in the headline or in the first paragraph of the articles. Nearly eight Palestinians died for every one Israeli.
Disturbingly The New York Times is considered the quintessential “liberal” newspaper of the US. . .

glad ya’all heard that wack-job call in to Seder. I was driving and it was a good thing I was stopped at a traffic light or I would have gone off in to a ditch. Jesus Christ almight! Now, on to the medical issues because we collectively have a fine diagnosis clinic here. :sammy:
ck, three words: Turner Classic Movies – you’ve gotta chill. Otis’s recovery is remarkable, but now it’s your turn (although I adore your friend’s suggestion).

Biography
Caravaggio, byname of Michelangelo Merisi, Italian painter whose revolutionary technique of tenebrism, or dramatic, selective illumination of form out of deep shadow, became a hallmark of Baroque painting. Scorning the traditional idealized interpretation of religious subjects, he took his models from the streets and painted them realistically. His three paintings of St Matthew (c. 1597-1602) caused a sensation and were followed by such masterpieces as The Supper at Emmaus (1601-02) and Death of the Virgin (1605-06).

response to entry 74 from “isi”, I’ve got the audio from that conversation recorded to my podcast page, go here to listen to the clip, http://web.mac.com/ofmen/iWeb/Site/Podcast/Podcast.html
Kat-How did you find out that it was inflamed cartledge? Did your regular doctor see it? Is there a treatment for it? That makes so much sense, but then my doctors are largely ding dongs, except for the lyme guy who is overly worried about every little thing.
Thanks so much FK…that is the first sensible diagnosis Ive had.
One good thing about this thing is that I was bed shopping sorta during it so I ended up getting a much fancier mattress than I would have…and today it came and then I napped on it and its really great…a hybrid between temperpedic and really good spring bed….
It conforms really nicely without that smarmy feeling of being swallowed up….;-)
Im gonna watch the Daily Show rerun because Will told me it was so great last night….They rerun TDS and colbeurre at 8PM here….usually want to see Kieth but I guess I will tape that one….I need some pre funny before the final funny of the week.
I expect that we’re having a regular show tonight…?
Nicki- isnt “Frag-ing” turning on your own comrades? It was a problem in Viet Nam….
Howdy, everybody. Just checking in for a minute to say hello and that I haven’t yet listened to last night’s show, dammit, but I will tomorrow morning. Looking forward to hearing the Mr. and Marc!
Melina, what kind of bed did you get? I’d like to get a new one myself.
Hope all you seditionists are fine….
(Speaking of The Daily Show, I’m going to a taping of the show a week from Monday. Should be fun! Probably the guest will be someone I loathe like James Dobson. Gag!)
Hey, Nicki. I just looked up the guitar tabs for that neil young song. That’s about all I’ve got. OK, so yeah…

oh becky, I would so much rather be with you at the Daily Show than…. I’d love to go to a taping! BOO if it’s a Dobson type – pleeeeze.
melina, both times it was diagnosed by GP’s. I think the tenderness, tightness, coupled with the bronchitis tipped the scale. It seems they gave me something and I just can’t remember what. It may actually have been just the bronchitis medicine. I remember time was necessary. I think anti-inflamatories were part of it. It took a few weeks to go away after the bronchitis. It is very uncomfortable. Sorry I can’t remember exactly what they did. I can tell you I avoid super smokey places as I get bronchitis very easily now. The Middle East can be tough to visit sometimes because of the smoke.
did ya’all see this?
Becky, I got a Sleep, Etc… brand Temperpedic. The first bed I got was a queen (to replace my old king) Englander with a pillowtop…top of the line….but it wasnt very comfortable for some reason (probably just my back pain) and the queen was just too small for all of us and even some of the dogs to watch a movie or hang out….
I went back in a day I was in pain and the salesman (who Ive made friend with because this is all in my little community,) told me that this is the one he has and really encouraged me to try it for a while…so, Will and I laid on it and talked for a long time and we bullshitted with the salesman…and it was just so comfortable that I decided to switch brands.
One thing you’ll find in the bed biz, besides that the prices have gone up, is that they are now making almost all mattresses one sided, so you cant turn ’em. You can only rotate them, and they last half as long. Once youve got an indentation, its there to stay….This pisses me off, in our disposable society, because they are holding back on an extra $25 worth of batting in order to make the beds last half as long. They also have to recycle the metal…so there is a whole process involved with that.
I know alot about beds now that I have a bed salesman friend….and he is a brit who is an American citizen, so can vote…is liberal and hates Bush but thought the Iraq war was just as well, to get the dictator out…well, while laying comfortably on one bed or another, I took his argument apart…doesnt really matter because his vote is in the right place, but I like to win when it comes to this stuff … the logic is just so flawed, and that bothers me…like I have to put it right or something.
HEY SHEEPLE WHATS UP? stupid caps! anyway im gonna read the blog be back in a few!
Kat- its fine…Im just gonna take ibuprophen and hope for the best…Just hope that it starts to feel better before I have to have too many more tests. I suppose its always good to check everything…but its just getting tiresone…
Im gonna lay down on the temperpedic and see if its really all its cracked up to be.
But thanks again for the info and the idea….it makes sense and if you got it after bronchitis…it just makes sense. My sister has asthma as she gets this all the time. I dont, and I cant stand to be in smoky places anymore…but this was really a bad case…Ive never had one this bad.
Hope its a good show tonight guys…Im assuming its a normal one…
I love, love, love the long ones….he really gets into a groove with the longer format!
Does everyone’s recordings have the not so great sound on ’em?…even the podcasts?
I just edited my replay by sight, because it plays a flippers loop over and over at a certain point…I figured I would just cut out what looked like commercials and see if the playback is any better than what was on the torrent. At a certain point there is alot of static and almost ringing sound….
so i got an audiobook of on the road today at the barnes and nobles here in south bend! stupid alternator went on the truck i was in the shop all day ugh no wi-fi at the shop i was annoyed anyway im gonna try to stay up for the show ok then

The way I understand it, “fragging” was killing your superiors (with fragmentation grenades). A gung-ho officer in Vietnam would run the risk of having someone roll a grenade into his tent. From what I gathered, the US Army was not a reliable fighting force in the latter stages of the Vietnam War because of fragging and other such acts.
Soldiers sometimes took out their frustrations and resentments on those officers who put their lives at risk. The term “fragging” came to be used to describe soldiers attacking their officers, often tossing fragmentation grenades into the officers’ sleeping quarters. According to one official account, 382 such fragging incidents occurred between 1969 and 1971. Other sources estimate a higher number of fraggings, since many went unreported.
