Ah, finally, a real day off. Just me and the other animals home today. Maybe I can try fixing my earbuds today. A damn wire must’ve broken or come loose, and I’ve lost my left side (unless I wiggle and push, which sounds like a lot more fun than it really is). I was able to slide the boot back from the plug, but under there it’s plastic and pretty well sealed up. Anybody know any tricks for getting the plastic stuff off? Otherwise, I’m gonna have to cut the damn thing off, and splice on a another one, which will look awfully ugly. The damn things were expensive, or I wouldn’t bother (and they’re just so much more comfortable – and better sounding – than anything else I have). Oh well, whattya gonna do?
Okay, I’ll post:
May there always be a dance in your step
Sorry, I just read what problems you are having
Someone help pjsauter, please 🙂
🙁 Waaaahhhh I missed last night’s show and judging by the blog it was a good one! Does anyone have a copy since we obviously can’t count on Premium to come through? I NEED THE FUNNY!
:gate:
…hmmm but I like Mark Riley. Now, don’t get me wrong, for I  Marc Maron first and foremost — his sarcasm and wit, “Perfect” — :rofl2:.
Riley is so like the “norm” and not :omg: “scary” — plus he sounds similar to other morning talk-show hosts. Yet, Riley has a bit of Zip in him. I did not like that today he played jazz similar to Marc’s style attempt. But they are both experimenting. 😀
Gaijinda, sorry, no — but someone will 😉
New post-Goldberg program schedule for AAR:

I’m inclined to agree with you Druid-I’ve come to like certain segments of Riley’s show…esp. the “Around the World” thing. He’s found a nice rhythm for the show. I’ve also grown more accustomed to Rachel’s show. Kent still seems a bit structured, but the rest of the show’s good. I’m not sad when I miss a podcast of either like with Marc, but as evening radio they do well. 🙂

oh poo. :blech: hmm the smiley’s sticking their tongues out are ineffective…we need one that gives a good proper raspberry. 🙂
I just noticed that the premium podcasts just went up for the last 2 shows!!! :nixon:
Hey, man, I just turned on the ol’ radio to hear the Maddow show, and they pressed the “call Riley” button instead of the “call rachel”:doh:So, yeah, I think they’re getting tired or something. I dunno
:40: Stupid drunk prospector.:growl: That’s it, man. IT!
Is it just me, or have Maron’s shows been flat lately? Maybe it’s the time of night or something, but he hasn’t sounded very energetic, focused or… funny.
Gajinda, Ive got it if you want it….I just edited…It was short, huh?
I hope post 16 made sense. I’m a little sleepy, so my descriptions are not so great- but that may not be too unusual. Nevermind.
Anyway, at the end of Maddow’s segment, for the segway into the commercials, somebody at the soundboard hit something for the listeners of Rlley’s show to call Riley. Either they messed-up or I am having a sleepytime delusional episode- better known as STDE. Wait…this isn’t worth the energy that I’m throwin’ down. I’m kickin’ it. I’m kicked, man.
Mornin’, :sheep:le!
I like that “around the world” clip. too.
Time to locate some subversive stuff.:omg:
really Beemer? Ive been pretty happy with the shows. Id like more political guests but I think thats coming.

Oh, we sent a card with the package to Farmerkat, right?
The original Europeans in what is now the US were not immigrants, but colonists. And the US is not a nation of immigrants – it is a white colonial settler state, like South Africa under Apartheid, the former Rhodesia, Australia and Israel.
And like those states the US has always operated on a sometimes hidden, sometimes overt system of Apartheid.
Like those places, the US is a nation of colonists – and race laws.
It is a place where white colonists arrived, seized the land, and dispossessed, exterminated or attempted to exclude the original “non-white” peoples – all of them.
They did so at the point of a gun – by open terror and genocide, which was the precursor and the necessary pre-condition of European “immigration.” And, of course, they didn’t only use guns and overt terror. Where “necessary,” they operated by “law.”
Come Clean, Mr. Bush
Nailing the Lies
By BRIAN CLOUGHLEY
“. . . when [Saddam Hussein] chose to deny the [UN] inspectors, when he chose not to disclose, then I had the difficult decision to make to remove him. And we did.”
George Bush, the President of the United States of America, March 21, 2006.
“Iraq has on the whole co-operated rather well so far with [the inspectors] . . . The most important point to make is that access has been provided to all sites we have wanted to inspect and with one exception it has been prompt . . . ”
Chief UN Weapons Inspector Hans Blix, Report to the Security Council, 27 January 2003.
“Since we arrived in Iraq, we have conducted more than 400 inspections covering more than 300 sites. All inspections were performed without notice, and access was almost always provided promptly.”
Blix, Report, February 14, 2003.
It is obvious from the above that the President of the United States of America has lied in his teeth to the people of his country.
But nobody who has the opportunity to speak to Bush has the courage to say:
YOU HAVE TOLD A LIE.:omg:
hey sheeple! so uh did anybody here at the very ass end of the show when they played danny boy? it was great! it was played very very lowly not sure if anyone caught it or if commercials came on first paul said maron on xm two mondays from now! yep yep oh yay okay well yep yep im going away to read what i missed

ZNet | Afghanistan
Selective Outrage
by Sonali Kolhatkar and James Ingalls; Alternet; April 05, 2006
Daily media reports over the case of Afghan Christian convert Abdul Rahman have revealed a sudden concern over Afghanistan’s repressive human rights environment. But routine human rights reports of the ongoing oppression of Afghan women, suppression of the media and underlying Western complicity have barely been noticed.
In the West, government officials, media pundits and right-wing commentators have expressed vocal concern over the life of one Afghan man who chose, 16 years ago, to convert from Islam to Christianity. Australian Prime Minister John Howard said Rahman’s arrest for apostasy (renunciation of faith), a crime that carries the death penalty was “beyond belief.” U.S. President George W. Bush said he was “deeply troubled” by the case. The New York Times opined that “the case is more than deeply troubling, it’s barbaric.”
These same officials, whose governments underwrite the Afghan government, were apparently so moved by Rahman’s situation that they pushed for President Hamid Karzai to have Rahman released. In what the Associated Press called “an unusual move,” U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice phoned Karzai to convey “in the strongest possible terms” her government’s wish for a “favorable resolution.” Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper also appealed to Karzai and got positive results.
ha yes no springer on springer on the radio today!
Sean, Danny Boy didn’t come thru on the stream :rant1:
And, I didn’t hear the XM comment.
That’s really great news for you! :peace:
Maybe if the show is taped the commercials won’t cut into the show dialogue.
Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen, and down the mountain side
The summer’s gone, and all the flowers are dying
‘Tis you, ’tis you must go and I must bide.
But come ye back never:fu:in the meadow
Or when the valley’s hushed and white with snow
‘Tis I’ll be here in sunshine or in shadow
Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I HATE you so.
:rofl2::rofl2:
:mad:GREAT NEWS EXCEPT IM GONNA MISS A WEEK!
Did you call in and listen on the phone last night?
and i asked paul the call screener last night thats how i got my xm news! i wonder if he will still be working with marc if the shows not live?
Oh, I just now got why you are upset. 😉
Good question about Paul. You can ask him tonight when you call in. Maybe he can do research for them.
CHOMSKY: I was attracted to anarchism as a young teenager, as soon as I began to think about the world beyond a pretty narrow range, and haven’t seen much reason to revise those early attitudes since. I think it only makes sense to seek out and identify structures of authority, hierarchy, and domination in every aspect of life, and to challenge them; unless a justification for them can be given, they are illegitimate, and should be dismantled, to increase the scope of human freedom. That includes political power, ownership and management, relations among men and women, parents and children, our control over the fate of future generations (the basic moral imperative behind the environmental movement, in my view), and much else. Naturally this means a challenge to the huge institutions of coercion and control: the state, the unaccountable private tyrannies that control most of the domestic and international economy, and so on. But not only these. That is what I have always understood to be the essence of anarchism: the conviction that the burden of proof has to be placed on authority, and that it should be dismantled if that burden cannot be met.
:ear:
so uh since goldfuck is gone can we get riley with maron to replace franken when he goes away and can they just make it hackett on the radio permanently? 4 hours of maddow! 2 hours of nothing but calls!

What is this? Bush authorized leak???
:omg:
From the New York Sun
Bush Authorized Leak to Times, Libby Told Grand Jury
New York Sun Web Exclusive
By JOSH GERSTEIN – Staff Reporter of the Sun
April 6, 2006 updated 9:02 am EDT
A former White House aide under indictment for obstructing a leak probe, I. Lewis Libby, testified to a grand jury that he gave information from a closely-guarded “National Intelligence Estimate” on Iraq to a New York Times reporter in 2003 with the specific permission of President Bush, according to a new court filing from the special prosecutor in the case.
The court papers from the prosecutor, Patrick Fitzgerald, do not suggest that Mr. Bush violated any law or rule. However, the new disclosure could be awkward for the president because it places him, for the first time, directly in a chain of events that led to a meeting where prosecutors contend the identity of a CIA employee, Valerie Plame, was provided to a reporter.
Mr. Fitzgerald’s inquiry initially focused on the alleged leak, which occurred after a former ambassador who is Ms. Plame’s husband, Joseph Wilson, wrote an op-ed piece in the New York Times questioning the accuracy of statements Mr. Bush made about Iraq’s nuclear procurement efforts in Africa.
Gosh, I go away to clean the rat cages and once again the blog explodes

So dork and chief ordered the info on Plame leaked to the media ??
I would say that was an act of treason and if the rethug congress doesn’t do anything about it that would make them accessories, So we have a bunch of criminals running the country and they control the justice department too.. I guess we will have to hire a bunch of immigrants from Mexico to get into the streets and demand they all resign and go to jail without passing go. I have noticed that its been maybe two hours now since this appeared over at DU and MSRNC still has nothing about it on their news site.. hummmmm I wonder why ??
Isi, in this PROVEN hostile nation towards Dems one should see what his voting bias might be. ( No worse than the rethugs Homeland Security Laws.)

I was sitting here dozing in my hosptial bed and the biggest bouquet of flowers I’ve ever seen in my life came through the door! The nurse got a hernia from lifting it. When I read the card, I started crying. You guys are so thoughtful, kind AND resourceful (because you are Seditionists!). The basket is incredible – full of live plants – and I have never seen anything like it. A show stopper!
I haven’t been up to reading the past posts yet. I’m doing very well. One of their star cardiac patients, I’m told. The surgeon jumped through hoops to save the valve; he said it was a complicated repair using multiple techniques. I feel incredibly fortunate as the prognosis is excellent and I only have to be on coumadin for 2 months. The docs and nurses have been terrific. I had one nurse from hell in ICU, who, I’m sure if had been left in charge I’d be back on the operating table. Fortunately, friends and family took charge which took care of her,
Once they got the big lines and drains out of me I’ve been improving steadily.
Mike has been with me the entire time. I feel very fortunate to him him here. He’s a great nurse if he ever gets tired of his day job.
You guys really overwhelmed me. I only wish I could fully express my love and thanks.
:fire:
much love, much thought,

Hmmm. I’ve been thinking a bunch about the Cynthia McKinney thing. On the one hand, the rabid racist Republicans have take the opportunity to call McKinney a “ghetto slut” which surely isn’t right. And I certainly don’t think the incident justifies charges being filed – especially now that McKinney has apologized (better late than never).
On the other hand, there are those who have reacted as if the Capitol Hill Police are the Alabama State Troopers under Bull Connor, which, clearly, they aren’t.
I recall one of their members – Jacob Joseph Chestnut – being the first African American to lay in State under the Capitol Dome in 1998, after he and another officer – John Gibson – were shot and killed (a tourist was also injured) by some nut with a gun. I can’t find the demographic makeup of the Capitol Hill Police, but as part of the Federal government, I’m willing to bet it’s relatively well represented by men, women, and minorities.
I also recall an incident in NY City Hall, where Othniel Askew shot and killed Brooklyn Councilmember James Davis, because Askew was able to avoid going through the metal detectors.
Now, I don’t know what exactly went on with McKinney – and I suspect very few peple actually do. Maybe she saw the same officer every day, and every day he hassled her. I haven’t heard anything along those lines, though. Or maybe a different officer hassled her everyday. Maybe she was having a bad day, and her mind was elsewhere. Maybe – just maybe – the officer didn’t recognize her, and did what he was suposed to do. The main purpose of The Capitol Hill Police is to protect the Congress members. Sure, they hand out parking tickets, protect property – even tourists – but mostly they’re there to keep the nut jobs from coming in and shooting up our – and I use the term loosely – representatives.
What would your reaction be if it wasn’t Cynthia McKinney, but Tom DeLay instead? Perhaps they only didn’t reconize McKinney because she was a black woman. That’s posible, I suppose (I haven’t heard of other members of the CBC speaking out about unfair treatment at the hands of the Hill police, though) but that’s kind of a different question, isn’t it? The real question is, are you justified in smacking a cop after walking around metal detectors without displaying the proper credentials? Even if they’re just doing it to be pricks, and they really do know who you are?
If it was me (middle-aged white guy that I am), I’m willing to bet I’d have been arrested on the spot. If it was some Republican, I’d say “what a popous little bastard – why does he think he shouldn’t follow the same rules as everyone else?”
What McKinney did – justified or not – was politically stupid. If this officer or the Hill police in general have consistently treated her unfairly, she should have politely done whatever she needed to do, and then raised holy hell, and expressed righteous indignation after the fact. I’d expect more from her, frankly.
was i attributing the quote wrong? or are you just being more obscure?
Hey, FK, glad to “hear” your voice, and that you’re doing so well (we never had any doubts). Now, hurry up and get home!
:banana:yay fk!
hey FK danny goldberg is gone! yep yep G O N E well almost he isnt ceo anymore! so uh yep great great news on your front and aar’s front!
Hey sean, James P Hoffa on Franken right now.
Why does McKinney have to do all of the apologizing. How about the officer apologizing for not knowing the members of congress (as is part of his job) and for putting his hands on her (assault?).
And, why is this issue so important to the media? I haven’t heard that anyone was hurt. Whereas, Bush is a murderer.
yay unions! i think i am going to quit my job and try to unionize a department store! theres a target within walking distance of my house!
Sean, are you a Teamster?
I ultimately agree, however, there on the average is around 12 different representatives (:yawn:I believe:joe: )I read on some online papers and heard on many AAR shows — not wearing the lapel pin. That is why personally I would start having letters to all representatives advising an immediate enforcement of the law. But I would have also followed or call someone to follow McKinney, to then, diplomatically, advise her of the forementioned letter and the immediate need to inforce this law.
i was in the teamsters! i used to drive a recycle truck back home in buffalo which was my second highest aspiration as far as driving a truck goes i was working getting paid and helping the environment all at the same time!
now im a rock and roll truck driver which was number 1 on my list of driving jobs! yep yep oh yay
Why is this such a big deal, when Bush’s crimes go virtually unnoticed? I dunno. Same reason people seem to care about Katie Couric’s hairstyle, I guess.
Why did McKinney apologize? Probably in hopes of not getting indicted.
Why not the officer? Maybe if she’d stopped and said, “hey, I’m a member of Congress,” he’d have said, “oh, sorry, I didn’t recognize you.”
I’ve never really been partial to the law enforcement, frankly, but I think the head of the Hill Police was right, when he said:
I don’t think it’s about the pin, I think it’s about if they don’t recognize you and tell you to stop, you stop. Personally, I think EVERYBODY ought to go through the metal detectors. As a member of the “public,” I think I’m a lot less likely to be a dangerous looney than one of these frothing rightwing nutjobs – elected or not.
It’s starting to get overcast…..BahHumbug
but I am glad for the one day telling me the future.
If the officer wasn’t brand new then he doesn’t have an excuse for not recognizing her.
Hi all! Does anyone have the url for Marc’s show? I want to sign up for the podcast and don’t have a clue what to put in the i-tunes box. I e-mailed Air America but it could be weeks before anyone gets back to me. :fustrate:
Thanks! You all are great. I’ve been shy but will try to participate on the blog from now on. I figure that Maron fans must be the greatest group of people in the whole world. (or the strangest..lol).

hey farmerkat, so good to hear from you, so glad to know you’re doing well and that your friends thwarted the nurse from hell, not surprised that mike is a good nurse, i dunno, is somebody chopping onions around here?

hurraahh! epa is investigating bp for the latest alaskan oil spill. :fist: about time!
bp knew its pipelines were severely corroded in 1993. they didn’t replace the pipes, they didn’t monitor the pipes (only nominally), they didn’t inspect the pipes. there are about 500 oil leaks a year in alaska! the lastest leak was equivalent to 27 tanker trucks full of oil. bp says, oh, sorry, not our fault. 😡

Throw out Bush and his whole administration. And reverse all decisions he ever made. Also throw out all judges he appoited.
Put Gore in as an emergency President, Fingold (sp) as VP to be next in line (or some place of power)
I no longer support Kerry to him as with bush swore oaths to Satan and stole the bones(=grave robbers=bad juju)

‘Gospel of Judas’ Surfaces After 1,700 Years (Jesus asked to be betrayed)
http://tinyurl.com/rk76g
An early Christian manuscript, including the only known text of what is known as the Gospel of Judas, has surfaced after 1,700 years. The text gives new insights into the relationship of Jesus and the disciple who betrayed him, scholars reported today. In this version, Jesus asked Judas, as a close friend, to sell him out to the authorities, telling Judas he will “exceed” the other disciples by doing so.
Though some theologians have hypothesized this, scholars who have studied the new-found text said, this is the first time an ancient document defends the idea.
The discovery in the desert of Egypt of the leather-bound papyrus manuscript, and now its translation, was announced by the National Geographic Society at a news conference in Washington. The 26-page Judas text is said to be a copy in Coptic, made around A. D. 300, of the original Gospel of Judas, written in Greek the century before.
Terry Garcia, an executive vice president of the geographic society, said the manuscript, or codex, is considered by scholars and scientists to be the most significant ancient, nonbiblical text to be found in the past 60 years

Why is the McKinney incident with Capitol Police getting such media coverage and Bush’s high crimes and misdemeanors are not? Good question. What is the role of the media?
As for Mckinney: Hopefully some compromise will be reached. Capitol Police agree to look into racial profiling and the double-standards that ensue; McKinney will develop a more cordial relationship with that police force.
What’s with this neo-Klansman DeLay calling Cynthia McKinney a racist?:rofl2:
Go down, DeLay! :fu:
Goddamn liberal Fox News polls.
Terror Gannies.
What was Paul Hackett’s take on the Mckinney/Police incident? I missed it.
McKinney is one of the few dems who isn’t afraid to speak out so the rethugs and corportist dems and the complicit media will do anything to discredit her.. to make her go to jail so she shuts her mouth.
This is the same media that will bring us the 2006 election can’t you just wait ???
druid, you and i are both dreamers, after all, we live in humboldt county don’t we? :rofl2:
do you have any comment to the earlier astrology question about whether the stars are aligned in some particularly beneficial way this week?
weeks and weeks of moderate rain finalllllly stopped yesterday. what a long winter this has been.
I initially thought that the “Gospel of Judas” was going to be a satire on a Bush loyalist who is leaking material to Fitzgerald.
:rofl2:
I thought that Judas suicided soon after getting paid the silver. How did he find the time to write a gospel?
Throw out the Bush Regime because of illegality? Reverse all of his decisions!
Nice thoughts. But you know how politics work: POWER!:omg: Take power and defang the corporations..Set real democracy in motion. You know that already!:omg:
i only listened to paul for half an hour. he said repeatedly that mckinney should have had her pin on, that she should have been polite, that she was acting arrogant, that she should have obeyed the rules, that the security guy was just doing his job. paul didn’t change his tune the whole time i listened no matter what the callers told him. maybe he got better later on, i don’t know. i quit listening because i was so disgusted with him. he should have been better informed. i thought my xm radio was on some right-wing station for the first minute i listened to him.
Paul Hackett! He sounds like a fascist.
I had a similar run-in with campus police years ago. Eventually everything was dropped because legally they had no reason to stop me. I am sure McKinney has a stronger case than I did. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS!

“There is No Remedy Against the Language of Truth”
A Lesson from the Holocaust for Us All
By ROBERT FISK
The Independent
At a second-hand book stall in the Rue Monsieur le Prince in Paris a few days ago, I came across the second volume of Victor Klemperer’s diaries. The first volume, recounting his relentless, horrifying degradation as a German Jew in the first eight years of Hitler’s rule–from 1933 to 1941–I had bought in Pakistan just before America’s 2001 bombardment of Afghanistan.
It was a strange experience–while sipping tea amid the relics of the Raj, roses struggling across the lawn beside me, an old British military cemetery at the end of the road–to read of Klemperer’s efforts to survive in Dresden with his wife Eva as the Nazis closed in on his Jewish neighbours. Even more intriguing was to find that the infinitely heroic Klemperer, a cousin of the great conductor, showed great compassion for the Palestinian Arabs of the 1930s who feared that they would lose their homeland to a Jewish state…

oh and one more thing that paul hackett said this morning, he said he didn’t know mckinney, didn’t know anything about her! paul! you were running for congress as a dem & you didn’t know about her? you decided to do a national radio show about her & you didn’t even google her name? wtf?
Joe Scarborough, political hack and host of Scarborough Country on MSNBC, went on yet another odious rant on April 3. This time his scurrilous remarks were aimed at six-term Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney. The Congresswoman is accused of punching a Capitol Hill security officer in the chest (with cell phone in hand). After McKinney skirted a metal detector (members of Congress are not required to go through metal detectors) an officer, according to a witness, asked McKinney to stop several times. The officer claimed that he didn’t recognize the six-term Congresswoman (although each officer is given pictures of members of Congress); it seems that the confusion was due to McKinney’s new haircut. What would they have done to Dick Cheney in hunting gear? McKinney’s lawyers allege that a skirmish ensued after the officer “harassed” the Congresswoman and forcefully grabbed her by the arm. The Washington Post quoted McKinney, “Let me be clear: This whole incident was instigated by the inappropriate touching and stopping of me, a female black congresswoman.”

Hackett! What a dolt!:omg:
Cynthia McKinney was voting machined out in ’02 by the Dominionists. But she won her seat back in ’04. She is an outstanding citizen!
We need to mobilize public support for her right now! Beat back the cracker attack!
NickiRose , I too am a very religious person, although not Christian. I am dismayed and livid that the children of this country have been lied to by this :evil:wicked bush-thing and his 👿 wicked administration.
If he goes free with no jury and judgement, then open up ALL jail doors and let ALL prisons free
and let all the children see, since they are seeing and hearing and feeling the lies…..
When I was 13 I “Looked Around” and saw….although “parents were still in the dark”.
I have heard 13years and younger — even 10 and 11years on AAR especially on Mike Malloy.
I forgive him enough to not want to kill him (i.e. hung for Treason) BUT he should go to jail.
Anybody mention that the immortal Pendejo the Revolutionary is up at the snotgreensea site?
Oooh. Gonzalez better watch out, or Sensenbrenner might write him a stern letter.
anyone want to buy a cute town halfway between where druid lives and where i live?

If Bushco is found guilty the punishment should be that they are flown to IRAQ and turned loose in the middle of Baghdad.. Maybe an Aljazirah film crew will follow them around for the final ten minutes or so of their existence on the planet.

mckinney has an apt quote from the constitution on her website:
From theUnited States Constitution, Article 1, Sec. 6::
link
i agree with you nickirose, considering the above quote from the constitution, mckinney has a excellent legal case. why in the world is she apologizing???
paul hackett would have learned a bunch if he’d looked at her website before he opened his mouth this morning and sounded stupid.
Druid-666. Are you making me a defender of Saddam Hussein? Fuck, I hope not. I hope he goes down, and brings Rumsfeld and the Reagan-era nazis with him.
Power to the people!:nixon:
I keep asking this question … What exactly would an enraged populus look like ?? I have been pissed off for five years .. the bus driver has been pissed off for three.. My coworkers keep asking “when will WWIII start”. Does anyone expect the people to come out of their offices and houses into the street.. then what ?? The police frown on you shooting your assault rifle in the air and I would imagine they would really frown on you shooting it at them. Is everyone supposed to jump in their car and drive to DC ?? If John Conyers was to call for revolution would the M$M carry him ?? Would AAR even carry him ?? Maybe Ms Rant should call Moveon to call their troops to arms.. I would bet she would look really stupid in handcuffs.
Straight out of the Constitution! Wow! Yes. McKinney’s defense is iron-clad.
Who wants to bet that if it were a Republican that had been stopped, the stopping officer would have been arrested and charged?
Who wants to bet that if it had been Rep. Katharine Harris, there would be a lot of people clamoring for her to be thrown in prison? 😉

that police chief, isn’t he the same one that was involved when cindy sheehan got arrested and frog-marched (with bruises) out of the state of union speech audience because she was wearing the wrong t-shirt?
The media response to the French workers strike may indicate why American workers fail to vote for their interests. Despite right-wing claims of the “liberal” media bias, the media reinforces attitudes detrimental to working people. A recent analysis of the coverage of the French strikes in the American press by FAIR (Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting) a media watchdog group, illustrates where Americans get their attitudes.
A Los Angeles Times editorial recommended that the French demand that all job guarantees be loosened, while the “liberal” The New York Times suggested the French loosen “rigid labor laws” and trim “costly benefits.” Fox News said, “workers don’t want to work” and claimed the French are angry because they can’t get “a lazy do-nothing job.” ABC and CBS both derided the protesters, and when asked about the injustice of allowing bosses to lay off workers without cause, one reporter said, “But it is this way the world over.”
Hey everyone . . . I’m usually in and out of the blog so if I miss you please feel free to email me @ rhubbar7@yahoo.com. This is the best way to catch me. Melina, I noticed your post this afternoon concerning booting Windows XP on my Intel Imac. Not certain I understood the question. Were you asking if you can have BOTH operating systems running at the same time? If so, the answer to that question is: “NO.” The Mac OS makes it easy to switch between Windows and Mac operating systems, but the usual boot sequence is required. It would be nice if you could switch quickly. Perhaps that will come in the next major update of OSX scheduled in the Fall 06. Go here to learn more about Apples software allowing Windows to run on a Mac. http://www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp/
I uploaded Marc’s show to my site this afternoon. I tired to get it up this morning, but a demon possessed me and I just could not accomplish the task. It will be impossible for me to upload every show to my site. But I’ll do what I can to spread the funny. Go here to listen to last nights show: http://web.mac.com/ofmen/iWeb/Site/Podcast/Podcast.html
Later ladies and gentlemen
Yep, that’s the Capitol Hill Police. They’ve also been involved class-action lawsuit for discrimination against their African-American officers.
oh whoa, farmerkat, you better get well fast, you’ve got some serious competition right on your own homestead, don’t let mr. farmerkat see this report:

:rofl2:
I’ll take that bet. “Oh! A southern woman’s honor has been violated by the brutal Capitol police officer. Arrest that man!”
Harris will go down to political defeat, though.
foggyblue and NickiRose,
W O W My apologies. Both of you were right and ROCK:!: THX.
Why hasn’t that definition hit “mainstream”:?: With that definition, alone, the officer should be arrested.
PJ, I stand by my previous political and racial belief. 😉
VIGILANCE!
Actually, I was thinking that it would be the Republicans who’d want Harris thrown in prison, to get her out of the freakin’ Senate race.
i sent mckinney a note saying how much i supported what she’s doing.
contact mckinney
what else can we do to support her?
these days are starting to feel like the racism of the 1950s is returning.
Instead of the conservative motto, ‘A fair day’s wage for a fair day’s work,’ we must inscribe on our banner the revolutionary watchword, ‘Abolition of the wage system.’ It is the historic mission of the working class to do away with capitalism. The army of production must be organized, not only for everyday struggle with the capitalists, but also to carry on production when capitalism shall have been overthrown. By organizing industrially we are forming the structure of the new society within the shell of the old.
(Preamble to the Constitution of the Industrial Workers of the World, USA, 1905)
Since you put it that way: “Arrest that criminal. She broke the law.”
Damn! I definitely dropped my machiavellian faculties on that one. Good thing I did not bet on it.:rofl2:
if it isn’t already obvious the rethugs want to return to the days of the robber barons era 1870. No unions , no woman’s rights, no workers rights, racism abounding.
ok, this is for any guy seditionists out there who have had masculine enlargement procedures and might be harboring some resentment about the result, here’s a cautionary tale:
link
I wonder if they’ll put him in a penile colony?
NickiRose, I think we are talking about different subjects. I was talking about how you were “infadically” defending McKinney using similar arguements as what foggyblue posted, below: :alc:(bottles are francy coffee drinks):joe:
From theUnited States Constitution, Article 1, Sec. 6::
“The Senators and Representatives shall receive a compensation for their services, to be ascertained by law, and paid out of the treasury of the United States. They shall in all cases, except treason, felony and breach of the peace, be privileged from arrest during their attendance at the session of their respective houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any speech or debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other place.“
Hi, Seditionists. I went by to visit Farmerkat in the hospital today. She looks great for an open-heart surgery patient! She was sitting up and moving around a little and talking and laughing.
The basket of flowers is huge and so beautiful. She clearly is very touched by your thoughtfulness. Way to go, you guys!
I would have visited her earlier but I was in NYC at a David Gilmour concert…which was awesome. :bong:
Becky
You were talking about Bush’s criminality. Then you threw in 11 to 13 year olds. And the hanging reference. This made me think of the current trial of saddam Hussein.
Let SH rot in prison next to Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld!:nixon:
tsssssssss! PJ, you are on fiya today!
:rofl2:
As you may already know, the launch of our exciting new podcasts from General Clark has been very well received.
Thanks to the tremendous support from the WesPAC community, last week you made ClarkCasts the #1 ranked political podcast on iTunes — after only 4 weeks!

Yo Everybody!
Wow, no more Douchey Goldturd!
I just wrote a whole thign and somehow lost it!…which is how my day has been going;-)
Im so glad to hear that Kat feels as good as possible and likes the flowers! It soulds like shes gonna get better really quickly. She is strong!
This Bush/Libby thing is insane. He decided to declassify the informatuion himself, privately?…so he can declassify anything he wants at a moment’s notice?…no checks? No balances?
Im scared now….
He really needs to go to jail…directly to jail…not pass GO, not collect $200…but the way things are, we cant even get a censure attempt on the record.
I loved Jim Earl’s comments last night on Goldprick…it was just priceless…Marc: youre gonna get us fired…again!
Yay…Goldfuck is gone…!
But why is he taking a cash salary rather than stock or something. If he really believes in the station and the cause, why wouldnt he take some trade for the itme being? Its very telling that he would take $800,000 out of the corporation over 2 years, to do nothing!
OK…back to my taxes…and I need to sleep!
Have a great show everyone!
hey, did the premium podcast from last night have the first hour on it?…They acted like they had already been taping for an hour when we joined them.
ARRGHH! I’ve got to get a copy of last nights show!

UH….I found it. 😳
