It’s Wednesday, and I don’t have to get up and out this morning. I have a ton of shit to do, but at least I don’t have to go anywhere to do it. Except the dump. But that beats sitting through class any day.

And that you are able to find another place in DC.
Good morning philosopher kings and queens and working-class heroes. :joe::nod:

Well the thugs in Ohio elected the expected slate of criminals to office. Blackwell and Nay both got nominated in the primary. I don’t quite see why the people in Ohio allow this c* to happen.

worth repeating:
webhubble’s post yesterday about aar was interesting. I really do wonder what is going to happen. I hope the author’s pie-in-the-sky theory works, we need a strong force to get liberal radio out there…bidness is bidness i suppose.
Oh,,,,, GOOD MORNING!
good morning everyone!
WebHubble’s post about AAR/WLIB in the case you missed it
http://blog.wfmu.org/freeform/2006/05/air_america_vs_.html
I am not quite sure what to make of the stuff about AAR and their problems. Several of the local stations have their own programming and I really don’t like the idea of Clear Channel trying to monopolize the market place. What happens if GE buys Clear Channel ?? Maybe it would be better for AAR to go to Canada or Mexico ( Cuba ?) and set up 500 KW transmitters there so they can brodcast things that might not fly in the US and avoid these kinds of problems.
Hey all, I hope you’re listening to Rachel. She’s about to have Jay Baker, son of Jim and Tammy Faye Baker on. He is also a PUNK ROCK MINISTER! I’m dying to hear what he has to say about his parents! 😎
Good Morning / Evening :yinyang:
How’s it going Melina?
Wow…great AAR info from WFMU….
Fred, I agree in a way, but also, if clear channel is jumping on the boat of liberal talk radio, they must feel that there is a need for it, so we can expect a whole slew of programming and much more opportunity for people like Marc…and hopefully Lizz Winstead, who is sorely misplaced as producer of that horrid Maury/Connie travesty!
I hare Clear Channel too, but what if some of their programming represented the popular sentiment in this country?
What if there were other outlets for displaced people like Maron to negotiate with, in order to just have some leverage and not have to try to put something together on a shoestring?
I know that with that comes the ruthless part and the money part…but these folks would NEVER have cancelled MS just when Stern was going off the air. It didnt make good business sense to do it. They might have waited a few months to see if the listeners were there and then done it, but at least it would have given the business side of it a chance. Danny Goldfuck just wanted tobe right so badly that he didnt want to take the chance of being proven wrong by the market…..
Anyway, if there is evil infusing every bit of business here, I suppose that the only thing left to hold onto is that possibly there will be a littl message getting out there…at least enough to direct people to the web and the indy shows that no doubt will start to proliferate as wireless and web radios take hold.
I hope that Marc didnt tie himself up for too long…I expect that he will be a very hot property as this all develops.
BTW, this shows that its important to keep your ear to the ground around the Imus ranch…especially if you dont have to directly listen, as Ive already had to shut it off 3 times today…its tom cruise Mission Impossible day on GMA, and something on Today scared me so badly that I started screaming, changed to MSNBC, only to come face ot face with the “comedian” doing an impersonation of someone, so I continued screaming and fumbled with the remote to turn the whole damned thing off!…the dogs were very worried about me!
I miss CK!!
Hey KK!!
So, Im gonna ask my Mom to really study IMus and report back to us every AM about what hes talking about…in general terms, lest my head explode.
I doubt that Imus woudl be offended by Sammy the Stem Cell…now, maybe “Charles” was and told Imus to be…but the chances that Imus has even ever listened to MS or Marc are slim to none…he relies heavily on “charles” to tell him what to think…except for music….he chooses his own music.
Marc may have another move? is that what you’re saying? ❓
Hey- go here to Ask David Blane a question
Of course, they want your mother’s maiden name and all of you phone numbers to do this, but maybe he will be able to bubble out some sorta answer to mine: “Mr Blane, Why are you such an idiot?”

I think that Marc will have plenty of places to go after this if the market is expanding and AAR doesnt wise up…and, of course, if he hasnt signed a stupid-long contract, giving them the power. I dont thnk his people are that stupid, but hes just getting his footing in this biz, so who knows?
My son is a flying spagetti monster devotee…I bought that book for him…
I cant believe that Marlo Thomas is still around…She and Phil sublet my father’s old apartment in NYC for a year or two….shes a little difficult as only a child star of celebrity parents can be…at least she is into charity work and liberal….

Ill listen later from the replay.
Kieth Olberman is on MSNBC….the countdown’s new AM slot!!
Hey Fred, thanks for that story. I wonder how much it costs to build a radio station. Or is it a matter of limited frequencies? Is it possible for a radio station to survive with only an online presence with lots of affiliates?
iyi aksamlar!:nixon:
Ben Burch and White Rose society have set up a web broadcasting company called HeadONRadio. They currently broadcast web only programs of progressive talk. You can get to them at
http://www.whiterosesociety.org
I can’t see how Randy Michaels taking over AAR could be a good thing. Instead of rank incompetence (Danny Goldberg) we will get ruthlessness. I don’t see unique people like Randi, Sam and Janeane and others fairing well. I know some people hate Randi, but I think she is unique and I like her most of the time. I want to see her continue on the airwaves.
I’ve now come to believe that besides being incompetent, Danny Goldberg was stupid. And, the people that handed AAR over to DG are stupid, too. I guess that means AAR deserves what they get.
I suppose it would be possible to set up a distributed radio network using low noise phone lines ( ISDN) and then mix the signals at some point and distribute that signal again over ISDN so that affiliate radio stations and/or web casting partners can access it. Running a broadcast radio station is apparently fairly expensive, They need to have green and progressive sponsors .. These commercials on AAR are horrable.
Goldberg and AAR did what a lot of corporations are doing today and are trying to succeed to quickly. This may be because they are undercapitalized or because they are to greedy. Clear Channel is big but they didn’t have a terrific year last year. From what I have seen corporate CEO’s need not be smart or efficient managers these days. They just achieve good returns over one year for their investors and then give themselves a 7 figure bonus and leave.
This is it…Im so sure that this is the future of everything.
Pretty soon there will be totally wireless cities and there are so many networks, even up here (as Im finding with my little computer phone that picks up networks everywhere…even walking by a church in a small town recently it asked me if I wanted to connect to the Rectory Network!)…but probably we will see the cable modem building in a linksys sort of thing soon…anyway, all radio will soon stream internet stations…it wont make a difference by then, except that, like with the blogs, whoever is onboard early will probably get bigger faster…and the market will be very crowded to start

Yeah FK, I have been missing being able to read everything everyone posts. I have to skim more and I’m sure I’m missing some things. Plus, a bunch of activism I started when I wasn’t working so much had to be abandoned when I was working every day.
amy goodman is talking about colbert’s skit on saturday and the awful coverage of it by the msm. she is playing the entire skit so that we can judge for ourselves. it’s funny no matter how many times you hear it. amy said that the new york times had a front-page story about the skit here.

farmerkat, thanks for the link to the ny times article on the robert’s supreme court. more thoughtfulness and civility can’t be bad.

Maron Mail:
Why were some of my comments deleted yesterday? OK. Was it because of A call to takeout Mexican and American elites? There were remarks about the Mexican Revolution being betrayed, and a recommendation to read Edward Weston’s impressions of the Mexican Revolution in the 1920s. I have written far more subversive things and not deleted.
farmerkat,
i hope you’re feeling stronger each day. are you able to take your walk with your dogs and donkeys? is the feeling of an anvil there all the time or only when you’re walking?
Brings to mind Jesus, doesn’t it?
Nobody deleted any posts Nicki, from you or anyone else.
LOL! Jesus is rolling in his grave, oh, wait, in his……
anvil is on chest only when i breathe deeply. I think once the sternum heals, that feeling will go away. maybe a couple more weeks they say.
mr fk walks the dorks ahead of me (can’t have any pulling on me). I follow the pack. donkey is mad as she wants a bath and tending to and she stuck her nose at me yesterday. wouldn’t even eat her gingersnap. Freddie the goat still likes me, though.
on other matters, I think I’ve gone a bit too far in my feelings…
mr fk today turned to look at me and said, “we media people are just plain evil, aren’t we.” gotta remember he’s one of the good guys.
:paranoid:
the idyllic pastoral scene of a farm in georgia fits the jesus image, fk’s been known to issue an expletive or two, jesus probably did the same but his clerks decided to clean it up, fk had a near death experience (that’s how i think of open heart surgery) plus she walks with donkeys and she’s a thoughtful kind person, i think you’re right, isi, fk’s got a lot in common with j. :priest:
you could probably delete some of mine with little effect to the ole blog :billcat:

fk, i think you mean effect (not affect)?
jiminey christmas! shucks….
bob dylan’s first show on xm aired this morning at 10 a.m. east coast time. that would have been 7 a.m. california time. i wasn’t ready for dylan at 7 this morning. i’ll catch him on one of the reruns though. a few days ago bbc did a story on his new show and included quite a few clips. he sounded weird and wonderful. bbc interviewed some suit at xm who said that they approached dylan about having his own xm show after they found out that he had a half dozen xm radios on his property. it took them years to convince dylan to do the show.
i think i’ll like the show. but not at 7 a.m.
blurb for marc’s show friday night at the upright citizens brigade theater in los angeles is here.
i hope our sean finds a ride from his truckstop to the theater!
air america news just said that an 8.1 earthquake hit in the south pacific. link
so far no tsunami. i think all these earthquakes are linked. also the bombs the neocons are going to set off in the desert north of kristapea in phoenix i think they make a difference. i mean, it’s one earth, isn’t it?
i’m kinda more sensitive to earthquake talk now than i used to be because my husband and i are just finishing escrow this week on a parcel of land 500 feet from the san andreas fault. we’re going to build our new home there. i read everything i could find this last month about the 1906 earthquake. i think i have what is called “healthy denial” about the situation.
or maybe it’s because i grew up in dallas and ANY risk is worth taking to get away from there.
Hey FK, tell Mr. that it’s not the real journalists that are evil, but that news for profit is killing journalism in this country. We need to reinstitute a fairness doctrine (even if there’s no way to come up with a perfect solution), and over the air broadcasters need to start working to earn the right to use the public’s free spectrum again. We also need to reinstate the limits on how many news and broadcast outlets one company can own – not just in a given market, but around the nation. There’s just no way that Clearchannel should be able to own five radio stations and one TV station here in a such a small market (especially when Sinclair owns and/or operates another two TV stations, and the CPB has been taken over by fascist neocon shills).
have you seen the “Flinstone” house in the Bay Area on the fault? It’s over this massive bridge right before Daily City around hwy 92, on Hwy 280…. built specifically for a big one.
I was in the big one in LA in the 70 (it was ’70, wasn’t it?) and the ’89 one in SF. the ’89 one was frightening…..
google is awesome:
pj, mr fk said he agrees with you, absolutely.

Fox, BBC, Al Jazeera most trusted: poll
One-quarter of consumers abandoned a news source over the past year because they lost trust in its reporting, according to a new survey that also found the BBC, Fox News and Al Jazeera the most trusted brands in their respective home regions.
Results of a poll of more than 10,000 adults in 10 countries by the British Broadcasting Corporation, Reuters Group Plc and The Media Center were released on Wednesday, with an additional finding that media worldwide were trusted by an average of 61 percent of respondents compared with 52 percent who said they trusted their governments.
Germans were unique in the survey for naming newspapers more than TV as their most important news source, by a margin of 45 percent to 30 percent.
Among South Koreans, who have a comparatively low trust of media in general, 34 percent said the Internet was their most important source of news compared with 9 percent worldwide
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060503/tv_nm/media_survey_dc
——————–
What this means…. Fox is only most “trusted” amongst 11% out of 100% of viewers. 11% – FAUX, 11% CNN, 4% ABC = 26%. That leaves 74% choosing “Other.”
So, not surprisingly, this headline is completely FAUX.
You have to wonder what other is though.:fustrate:
fk, thx for the crystal springs reservoir/san andreas fault link. what a terrific website. i’ve bookmarked it. brings back memories of the 7 years we lived on the peninsula in the bay area and travelled up and down 280. the san andreas fault on the peninsula is amazing. we’re buying land on the northern end of the fault in shelter cove. we felt the 1989 loma prieta quake in redway in our office in 1989. 20 seconds of strong rolling motion. i felt too shaky to drive for a couple of hours but did manage to go to a friend’s house to turn off the propane when she called me. what was it like for you in san francisco in the 1989 quake?
Cool, now ask him if he knows any DC correspondents with a cheap summer sublet. I’m willing to pretend I love CNN and the WaPost, if need be, but I can’t go as far as Fox or the Moonie Times. Or that new free rag they have there – what is it? The Washington Examiner, I think it’s called.

So Fucked News is most trusted by the 11% who guzzle the right-wing Kool-Aid. Sounds about right.
I also note that CBS and NBC did not rate a mention, which leads me to believe that the 4% that ABC managed to scrape up consists of viewers who think it’s bad karma for a pregnant woman to lie. 😀
I wonder how fast Rupert Murdoch blew a gasket seeing Fucked News mentioned in the same breath as Al Jazeera.
:rofl2:
fred, i’m sooo glad you explained the extremely misleading headline saying that faux was polled as the most trustable news source. 11%! it’s incredible they can make a headline like that with only 11% of the respondents trusting faux. i saw the story referenced on reuters but couldn’t link to it, reuters said that the story was unavailable. maybe they will change the headline so that it’s more accurate, something like 89% don’t trust faux news, something like that.
I only trust reporters that have been interviewed from Iraq by Marc Maron.
ok, I’ll ask him and dutifully report back. too bad our dear friends just sold their place in arlington.
fred, that’s a pisser….
earthquake…my son was an infant and i was in a small strip mall in a store with giant glass windows. looked outisde and the ground was rolling (first time I’d see that). there was an auto repair store across the parking lot and cars were falling off the racks. Then the glass windows started popping out of their panes. Holding a newborn, i panicked and ran outside to get away from the glass. everything in our garage had collapsed, house was a mess, but in a strange way. Some stuff you’d think would crash stayed put and other thinks fell over. One of my best friends in Santa Cruz was able to call me and tell me he was ok on the day of the quake….Santa Cruz was then isolated from the rest of the world for well over a week. I was so glad I had heard from him so I knew he was alive. Santa Cruz was demolished. Never will forget seeing the ground roll like that.
went to first year law at golden gate univ (part-time day program… I was a single mother) and the traffic in and out of SF after the freeways fell was a mess. It was a daily reminder of the horrors people went through with that earthquake.
:rofl2:
Do you really think that Joe 6-pack would be able to figure out what was right and what was wrong , what is the truth and what is a lie given the almost complete polarization of opinion and the truth that exists between the left and the right sided media. They should make lying in the media illegal….period… That would put a big crimp in the rethug and even some dems political strategies.., and a lot of commercials but America’s political system was set up assuming that we would have a well educated electorate and we no longer have one..go figure.
whew. glad you and your son made it to safety. that’s a dilemma, chosing to stay indoors or run outside. when i’m visiting somewhere unfamiliar, i often think about what i would do if a quake happened, i’ll be walking along and think, i’ll cross the street now because i’d be safer on the other side if the quake came now, i frequently pay attention to where there are power poles, etc., that is, when i’m not going on in my mind about how to confront the evils of bush administration or how to earn a living or how to move out of the home where we’ve lived for 27 years, there are only so many minutes in the day after all, thoughts of a possible earthquake don’t get that high of a priority, but they do sneak in now and then.
In my freshman and sophomore years in college we started having some 4 and 5 magnitude tremors in the Denver basin.. I was sitting in my dorm room and watched my water glass dance across the desk and fall on the floor.. There was an audible rumble.. Most of the other tremors went pretty much unnoticed. These earth quakes were man made.. The RockyMountain arsenal in north east Denver was pumping large amounts of “contaminated water” down a well and it greased the plates.. They quit pumping and the quakes stopped. Man can be hard on himself at times.

fred, i went to the bbc web site, and nowhere nowhere NOWHERE does bbc ever make the claim that faux news is most trusted news source. bbc gives an entirely different summation of the poll. they don’t even mention faux news in their summation. you have to read the poll itself and go to page 6 to see the first mention of faux news, and there it is only in a matrix that shows that 11% of the respondents mentioned its name!
bbc link click on “full poll results” to get the pdf
i think your link with the yahoo news story about the poll shows just how incredibly creative and inventive and false the writer of the story had to be in order to tweak the “fox most trusted” headline out of the poll. i’ll bet that bbc must be shocked at how its poll results were twisted in this way. at least i hope so.
yahoo is a red company and it’s in their best interests to make faux news look good i guess.
:barf:
another argument i have with the mr is that i think the standard of requiring actual malice is too high a bar when holding the media accountable. It seems there must be a test that would protect free speech but yet require some degree of accountablity from the press. To prove actual malice is incredibly difficult.
1964 libel decision New York Times Co. v. Sullivan. (Times v. Sullivan defined actual malice as publishing something with knowing falsity or with reckless disregard for the truth).
MSRNC is not much better than Yahoo.. I usually go to MSRNC first, then to RawStory and then to Democratic Underground and see what they all three have to say and read the comments before I form any opinion.
i find this yahoo/bbc article fascinating…great detective work you guys.
foggy, i knew running out of the building was not the correct protocol, but seeing that glass pop, I made my own earthquake evasive “standard.”
said infant is now up getting fit for a tux for the Junior/Senior Prom – his first…. 😉
It is true that some things are more black and white than other things. The right always comes up with the “well that’s your opinion” argument when sometimes its well documented if you look it up that they are lying.. The excuse then is “well that’s what the liberal media has to say”.. Like the validity of the US losing the war in Vietnam or that the US is torturing people in our overseas prisons is debateable
i thought colbert captured in comedy what you just posted, fred.
you know what, i calmed down a little and looked again at the yahoo article that fred linked us to re most trusted news source poll, and i saw that it wasn’t a yahoo story, it was just yahoo posting a reuters story, which came complete with a photo of o’reilley and his name in big letters on the photo just in case you didn’t get the idea that he and his network were “most trusted.” i didn’t think that reuters did stuff like this. guess i’m way out of the loop on reuters. when did they become right-wing boosters? now i’m all upset again. :growl:
God I LOOOOVVVEDDD Stephen Colbert’s performance for the little king! I think I missed Marc’s monday show…(damn premium AAR service!)…did Marc ever weigh in on the whole Colbert thing?
Hummm.. we just lost water pressure.. That’s bad because it sets off the fire alarm.. I have been noticing that the city street seems to have had a lot of flashing yellow lights all over the place since noon time so maybe we have a broken water main.. This should make rush hour just fantastic.
Thats why I ignore stories with only one source and always look in three places and take a vote as to what is correct.
Absence of Malice was a good movie, though.
Last night, janeane said that they sandbagged Colbert by putting him on last and let the President go first with his skit, which sucked the energy out of the room. She also said she heard that someone from The Washington Times sent Colbert a message saying he should have an intern start his car for a while. She was saying he should announce it on his show or sue the person/paper.
Hartman better be careful when he fills in for Rhodes and tells everyone that the water is up to C deck and rising.. Randi has a much larger audience than he usually does.. might cause a black Friday or something.
Apparently next week ( it seems its always next week) IRAN will start trading its oil in Euros or Yen. Norway is also going to start doing the same.. Hartman points out that the prices of domestically produced minerals are going down while imported things are going up that seems to indicate the dollar is going to hell in a hand basket.
ya I heard that too isi. Al really defended Colbert today…went from joke to joke lol and explaining that each one was a brilliant joke, masterfully delivered by Colbert.
later………
I’m glad to hear that about Al.
Huffington Post has the most horribly sad picture up. I’ve never commented there before but I did this time. They are using the sad picture of a dying elephant to illustrate the problems of the GOP. Over the line, in my opinion!
something like that but just the reverse is happening with lands sinking because of oil drilling and water extraction from aquifers. when you combine the sinking land and the rising oceans (think new orleans, bangladesh, etc.), you see that many places are headed for trouble.
some people think they can just do whatever they want underground and not have adverse repercussions. i can’t help but think that underground nuclear explosions and similar explosions rearrange something bigtime down there where earthquakes get born.

FB, I love that!
Bush didn’t suck the life out of the room for Colbert’s act.
He’s sucked the life out of the planet.
I don’t see who people can still be discussing this matter as if the Colbert performance was about getting laughs. It was performance art, much like Andy Kaufman’s Tony Clifton character. What’s funny about telling the press that they should be stenographers, go home, and write a novel about how great they are as journalists, and that it would be fiction? That’s not funny; its a slap across the face. Colbert meant to provoke, and boy did he ever.
Stop your selective outrage, Tyger Thom. Shut the f**k up!
i have never understood or appreciated any humor that is based on some tragic event with an animal. to “get” such humor (or irony or sarcasm etc.) you have to think that animals are totally separate from humans, something like furniture, you have to assume that animals don’t have feelings, etc. i don’t want to see the picture of the dying elephant. thanks for not providing the link. shame on huffington post for being so callous.
Pay Mexican economic refugees a living wage.
Change the Constitution, you creep. Madison wanted to maintain the elites’ power. Winner take all! Stop glorifying the Fucking Founding Fathers, Hartmann.
The Constitution is not sacred, Tyger Thom. It is the albatross we must deal with until it is transcended.
Well, I thought the constitution was like the bible. I think it was handed down by Gods. So be careful what you say.
Maybe if the people decided they didn’t like the current systems and started promoting some special elections both parties would be so terrified that they would allow you to change the constitution. The two party winner takes all system sucks.. go out and figure out how to get the people off their Asses.
Hartmann is so petite bourgeois. That is why he is so popular.

I find Hartman a bit naive when he says being politically active is going to fix this mess.. Laura Flanders is saying the same thing. Perhaps in a state with the population of most medium sized cities that will work but Colorado is a small state and it doesn’t work here. The political machine is well established and is not prone to change from within.
Yeah, it’s working….thanx. Majority Report. Sam Seder talking about tax breaks for the rich
Bush’s apologists claim that only terrorists have anything to fear. However, unaccountable executive power is inconsistent with free societies. America is no exception. Unless Bush is impeached and turned over to the war crimes court in the Hague, Americans will never reclaim their liberties from an executive branch that has established itself as the sole judge of the limits of its powers.

Yep thats the right one.. Seder talking about tax breaks for the rich.
Activism will bring about change. It’s Hartmann’s prescription for a solution that compels me to attack him. He blindly believes in the market, it seems.
I think that only Activism that provides the political machine with some incentive to change will work. Negroponte had some great ideas in that regard.
All of you thought criminals beware! You will be next!:omg:

Well said…it’s odd what makes some people feel “safe.” Huge concentration of power in the hands of one person is the least safe thing I can think of….I wish someone would define “that” as an act of terrorism…
So you think that the US is ready to spring to nazism in order to quell the democracy movement?
Spring to Nazism? I think we’ve already sprung… or in the process of springing…it doesn’t happen in one step

…hey everyone! Long day here in rainy souther CT-land.
Can anyone without NY Times select get THIS link?
Its the Opinionator about Colbert, but its a Times Select articke…however it offers to let us link to it and its a Times blog really.
I just want to link my blog to it or copy it in whole…but am not sure if thats necessary…the footnotes are really long!
So I guess we got a fuckin’ Duck’s game tonight. Marc is estimating between 10-10:30 end time. Game starts at 6 PST. Let’s bet on what time the show starts. I wanna go wild right out of the gate and say it’s gonna start on time. Anyone else have any ideas? Maybe whoevers’ closest to the show start time will get an on air delayed kiss from Marc and/or Jim! :sheep:
Hey Nick-The original movie of The Producers shot in my grandfather’s old studio (where they also did the Patty Duke show and Captain Kangaroo when I was a kid)….
Well now that I know that Marc is flossing 2 or 3 times a day and washing his hands after he pees, Ill take the kiss from Marc
Hey Melina…I can’t get that link…I can usually get all the Times articles, even editorials, on my local library’s webpage, but all of them are listed alphabetically and the only way to really find anything is to know the name of the editorial beforehand.
If I had to guess I’d think the show would start either on time or very shortly after, but I noticed they do have “sports wrap ups” for at least fifteen minutes when they play those games, grrrrrr.:growl:
Hey…heres something fun
Suz- the library is no doubt a subscriber to the Times. I get the weekend papers delivered so I can get the select articles….
Could you get the supreme court one that Kat posted the link to this AM?
Tony Soprano whacked – by a cab.
man, PJ…you scared me! Id hate to see it end this way. Though they may have most of it in the can already….right?
I got the link to farmerkat’s supreme court article this morning, and i am not signed up for new york times select. i couldn’t get your link re the nytimes’ opinionator about colbert.
Just watching Colbert again, from my recorded version of Democracy Now! This just gets better every time I watch it. I just can’t believe the guts. You know, if the freakin’ media (except for that awesome reporter from NBC, what’s his name? Mike Butcher? Getcher? Ubetchyer?) had shown 1/1000th of the guts in challenging this administration, not only would Colbert’s performance have been unnecessary, but maybe – just maybe – there’d be a few hundred thousand more humans still alive in the world, and President Kerry would be announcing that the US would have a petroleum-free economy within the next decade, thanks to a task force headed by Al Gore.
Tie me kangaroo down sport,
tie me kangaroo down.
Tie me kangaroo down sport,
tie me kangaroo down.
Keep me cockatoo cool, Curl,
keep me cockatoo cool.
Don’t go acting the fool, Curl,
just keep me cockatoo cool.
Altogether now!
Take me koala back, Jack,
take me koala back.
He lives somewhere out on the track, Mac,
so take me koala back.
Altogether now!
Let me Abos go loose, Lou, *
let me Abos go loose.
They’re of no further use, Lou,
so let me Abos go loose.
Altogether now!
Mind me platypus duck, Bill,
well said, pj. :fist:
Yeah, the supreme court article was not “select” so its available to the rabble…but the opinionator is….and Ive put it on ripcoco for those of you who want to see it…its below the baby bird update and me joining PJ via some sorta telepathic scariness, in ribbing Mr FK about his take on Colbert or place in the media…poor guy!! We love you Mr, thats why we abuse you so! Its how we show affection!
OK, back to waxing the hoff…I did the whole thing real clean and it grew right back…what the…?
I was hoping that if you got him real clean that his head would explode….I should become a useless game designer!
hey- and apparently the video of colbert has been removed from you tube due to copyright infringement!…wow!! I guess some day it will be on the DVD best of boxed set….it no doubt belongs to comedy central…or at least to Steve himself.
Tomorrow Im gonna look for a torrent of it so I can keep it in case they are gonna go after it everywhere….maybe the repugs dont want it seen….
PJ, any luck with the tin hat emoticon? Maybe the tin man from the wiz?
yay, it’s still on…
Suz- the library is no doubt a subscriber to the Times. I get the weekend papers delivered so I can get the select articles….
