I got an e-mail from Patrick over at thesnotgreensea.com the other day. He’s getting out of the Morning Sedition show archive business, and was looking to hand things off to some other sucker fan of the show. Well, what else could I do but say, sure, I’d give ’em a home? The files are all uploaded now, and now I’ll need to put up some sort of a front end to access them. Nothing fancy to start with. Ideally, I’d love to catalog them in a database by date, hosts, guests, etc., but that’s a long project that would involve a lot of show listening. I’m not sure it would really be worth the effort (you gotta wonder how much anybody really cares anymore). But, being Irish and German, I’m pretty goddamn stubborn, and I refuse to let Danny Goldberg win. Besides, isn’t the Sedition Party gonna take over the world eventually?
UCONN comes to town tonight. The last time they played SU, it was a six-overtime game in Madison Square Garden. If they’re planning on doing that again tonight, they’ll have to do it without me, ‘cuz I need to get some sleep.
Good thing they’re not playing down in NYC tonight. Looks like they’re in for a bit of snow down that way, along with DC and a lot of other places. Here, not so much. We’re supposed to get a few inches, but nothing major. I had to laugh at last weekend’s snowstorm, with headlines proclaiming that Washington, DC was “paralyzed.” What else is new? They’ve been paralyzed for months now.
I’m feeling pretty paralyzed this morning myself. I hope I can manage to get up and out of the house.
Thanks for taking care of the Sedition archives. Does this mean that Sedition Radio is going away? Or is that your project? I still listen sometimes. It’s getting more and more dated but still funny.
No, Sedition Radio is something I set up (runs on a computer in my basement, actually), and it won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. Unless the computer it’s running on craps out.
‘Tis a winter wonderland here. The snow has been very faithful to the weather forecast. As predicted it started just after midnight and hasn’t stopped. But, I have no complaints as I am home and the schools are closed.
Yesterday, Newt Gingrich told Jon Stewart that the reason the Bush administration marandized the Shoe Bomber, Richard Reed, was that he was an American citizen.
He wasn’t an American; he was British.
Poor Newt is going to have to find another reason that makes the Shoe Bomber completely different from the Underpants Bomber.
The store is closed today, not that I could have made it to work with all the ice on the roads. Still 2 snow days is going to totally screw up my paycheck.
:fustrate:
When I was younger, milk seemed to sour much more quickly. I don’t think it ever lasted more than a week. Now, I can leave milk in the refrigerator for a couple of weeks and it’s still OK. The milk I got yesterday has a “sell by” date of March 17.
I have assumed that there is some preservative added but I don’t see one in the ingredients which say: milk, vitamin A, vitamin D3 and palmitate which keeps the vitamin A viable. It is supposedly organic and says it is ultra pasteurized.
Does anyone know what’s going on with milk?
UHT milk can just last longer. I remember 1st seeing it as Parmalat in Italy unrefrigerated. Parmalat is better known in some parts for more than it’s food products.
“Men for Ladies”
“Do your legs shake when you walk downhill?”
“Yeah, how’d you know that?”
“You have MS. We gave it to you.”
Wow, thanks Vern.
Now, I have to add another thing to the list of stuff that has been processed or added to and is no longer good for you.
“You liked the General’s daughter?”
“Don’t put your head down. It’s over if you do.”
“What do you do infront of your computer? You mmm-aaa…”
“Who’s that guy from Forest Gump that you like?”
“I don’t know.”
“Here, I’ll help you. Mmm-aaa…”
“Major Dan?”
“Yep. No. It’s Lieutenant. Can you spell Lieutenant?”
trav, screenplay?
“a full plate of wallop” = local weather report
Basically it’s garbage. I’ve been throwing down lines that have either been said directly to me or near me some five months ago. I guess my intention is to relay to the folks that lurk here that I remember a majority of what actually occurred, even though I said I didn’t. The event just about gave me a heart attack, and scrambled my head for a couple months.
Whew! That’s a relief. :hot: I was just about to start Googling all of Travis’ posts to see what famous movie’s he was watching.
(agreed, art)
Trav, to be sure, nothing wrong with your memory, once you’re unscrambled.
