Not a whole lot to say this morning. I can’t seem to walk, so it looks like I’ll have to go to the Urgent Care this morning, and see if they can figure out what the problem is. Or at least give me some good drugs. I’m also willing to consider amputation at this point. If that doesn’t work, I might have to drive down to Cornell and throw myself into the gorge.
pj, is this a new problem or something that just flared up? How long ago was it that you fell down?
When I tried to do a face plant on a concrete driveway in January, I landed face down and my right arm was under my chest, probably preventing my head from hitting the ground. I did bruise my ribs, however, and I was sore for another month. Most of my body was messed up for several days.
Yesterday, my shoulder and neck were bothering me, probably from too much time on the keyboard and the mouse, and my stomach was a little messed up. Nevertheless I took a last minute (and very successful) shot at the corned beef and the :40: . It went OK but later the combination of the shoulder pain and some other lingering gastro-pains began to scare me when I heard of the death of Alex Chilton at 59 of a heart attack. It seems hard to imagine that he did “The Letter” at age 16. He sure sounded older. I was a lot younger.
Good luck with it.
Started about a week to 10 days ago. Got progressively worse. Went to the Urgent Care this morning. X-rays show some pretty good bone spurs in the heel and toe. So, I have crutches and was told to stay off it (not hard, since I can’t actually stand to step on it). No good drugs, though, which is kind of disappointing. Hopefully it’ll be better by Monday.
There is a puritanical attitude here about pain killers. They would rather have people in pain suffer than have relief. You have to demand what you need. Call them back or talk to someone else.
On the other hand they will shovel all kinds of other barely proven high priced crap down your throat for problems that might not even need a pill. I cringe when I see the ads for drugs on the TV, especially when they run the disclaimers on the back end. Someone should do a study on how much of these ad budgets gets taken up by the warnings. The drug companies should not be allowed to drive up their costs hyping their wares anyway.
I probably could have complained and gotten something stronger, but I’m not really much for the hard drugs. The thing that would do me the most good is, sadly, illegal (even for medicinal purposes) here in NYS.
bummer pj.
nothing like little chunks of stuff being where they get in the way.
beaut of a day up here, reminds me of So Cal in the 60’s, t shirt weather eh? sort of weird for BC.
Amen to #3, Vern.
PJ, I would think that something like aspirin or Motrin would help as those things take down inflammation. Not being able to walk sucks. I hope at least it provides a few days off from work.
Orange County Registrar of Voters Neal Kelley said Wednesday that Orly Taitz, a leader of the so-called birther movement, has qualified as a candidate.
She plans to challenge fellow Republican Damon Dunn, a former NFL player living in Irvine, for her party’s nomination.

Fess Parker, idol of baby boomers as Davy Crockett, dies in California at 85
🙁 :gate:
bummer pj. Can’t believe they didn’t give you something to help you feel better. You need a new doctor.
Hurray for the :bee: :bee: :bee:
Fess turned into something of a conservative and a fair wine maker in his later years but Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone were big in my childhood. Disney tried to follow with Swamp Fox (Leslie Nielson) with less success.
:40: 🙁 :gate:
Another music business giant also passed yesterday.
