Another Sunday. I’m pretty newsed out, myself. DC’d out, too, in more ways than one. Sometimes, I guess I just get tired of reading about Dick Cheney being linked to another no-bid contract, or “oh boy, aren’t Republicans dumb” because they blogged that they intend to push another criminal energy bill through on Monday, or that if you thought your father brother mother sister husband lover whatever was coming back from Iraq anytime soon, guess what, uh-uh, or Lynn Woolsey calling for the repeal of the authorization that the congresssheep gave dubya to go in and fuck things up in Iraq (seems like a no-brainer to me, but then I guess our government has just enough brains to be dangerous), or well, all the shit that’s in the news or that they think they’re so clever about bringing up at DU, or Kos or Atrios or whatever. It all just seems to be a bunch of pissing and moaning while these creeps keep getting away with doing whatever the fuck they want, ‘cuz they bought the “real” media a long time ago, and they sure as hell bought our government, and most of the people are too fucking stupid to know the difference.
What with people being people and all, I just don’t see any system ever being put into place that won’t eventually be corrpupted and used to oppress the very people it purports to care about. Marx? Meet Lenin. Trotsky? Meet Stalin. Adam Smith? The hand might be invisible, but not the middle finger. Labor? You must be so proud of Tony Blair. Jesus, Muhammad? Trust me guys, you don’t wanna know.
I dunno, I guess there really must be something in the air around this place that either makes you evil, or impotent, or depressed (or maybe all three; that might explain the Washington Press Corps, not to mention most of the Democrats). The sooner I’m outta here, the better.
But anyway, let’s see what the cream of the Fourth Estate has in store for us today.
On Press the Meat, Mr. Potatohead hosts a grudge match, with Israel’s Ambassador to the UN, Dan Gillerman, and Lebanon’s Special Envoy, Nouhad Mahmoud (“Oy, sorry about all the boom-booms, Nouhad.” “No problem, Danny-boy. We’ve been feeling a little ignored lately”). Then, the world is almost as flat as his head…yes, it’s Tom Friedman, who will no doubt predict that, in another six months, things will be going just great in Iraq.
Then over at Faze the Nation, it’s round two of the Desert Deathmatch, this time with Bush buddy Bobby Scheiffer hosting Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Siniora, and Israeli Deputy (I guess he only gets one bullet) Prime Minister, Shimon Peres.
Over at Fux News Sunday, yes, he’s been under the secretary of State and lived to tell the tale, Nicholas Burns joins Weaselface Wallace to chat about what a great deal his boss, Overundersecretary of State Condi Rice, got on a really cute pair of shoes at a going out of business sale in Haifa. Then it’s Paul Bremer, on to tell us what he’d do to fix all that nasty old violence in Iraq.
On This Weak with George Snufalufagus, Nicky Burns crawls out frumunda Condi one more time, plus it’s Israel’s Ambassador to the US, Daniel Ayalon (what, are all their Ambassadors named Daniel?). At the roundtable, Farid “Token” Zakaria joins Time’s Jay Carney, Claire Shipman, and George :jerk: Will. Also, we’ll hear from Lance “half the testosterone, seven times the trophies” Armstrong.
On CNN’s Late Edition, Feldmarschall Wolf Blitzer broadcasts live from Jerusalem. Oy.
Later, on 60 Minutes, it looks like a bunch of recycled stories to me (of course, I hardly ever watch, but these look familiar), with an interview with Osama bin Hidin’s bodyguard, another with a NASA scientist who’s being censored by the Bush Administration, and an Ed Bradley report on U2 (which I think I actually saw).
Then there are all-new episodes of Deadwood, the 4400, and the Dead Zone tonight, but, if you’re out there anywhere near Irvine, I suggest you head out to see Marc Maron and Louis CK at the Irvine Improv. You’ve got one more chance to catch ’em. Be polite when Louis CK’s on, and pretend you think he’s alomst as funny as Marc. Have a good Sunday.
good morning

Fred, if you’re still here, or maybe you’ll start reading the Sunday blog later, your #118 post from yesterday (was it #118? The one where you laid out what a Lebanon/Gaza situation might look like here in the states) blew my mind and sent chills down my spine, it was so plausible. I read it word for word over the phone to a friend of mine and she was blown away too. You got some talent, there, Fred!

(will somebody explain to me how to do the tinyurl thing?). And Lenin was not, repeat, not, the criminal mass murderer Stalin was. And comparing religious icons with political icons is comparing apples and oranges. If some people make a religion out of their political icon, that’s a pathology, not a movement. morning all, i’m not lurking, i’m just slow in saying hi, i’m trying to catch up with the blog since yesterday.

:knit:Sleep Well :yawn::gate:Pleasant Dreams
ex-ny’er, i’ll try to explain how to do the tiny url thingy on this website, travis was the one who explained it to me. first of all copy the url from the webpage you want us to go to, then come back to this ms webpage, write a word, say the word more, highlight the word more, and click on the little block in the row of blocks above that says “link”. you will see a line that starts out with “http://”. paste the url that you copied a long time ago (from the webpage you want us to go to) into the space (overwriting the “http://” that’s already there). click ok. what will appear in your comment box is the url you want us to see. but when you click “submit” we will not see the full url you just pasted. we will only see the word “more” highlighted, and if we click on it, we will go to the url you want us to go to.
i can’t believe i’m trying to explain something like this at 3:34 a.m. you know what, ask travis, he explained it to me in about two sentences. maybe that will be easier for you.
oops, too late to catch ex-ny’er with my treatise.
morning druid, did you contact anyone at the local dems about volunteering to be a candidate?
Back.
Druid- what kind of tea?
guess i’m out here by myself. i found jonathon cook’s article “five myths that sanction israel’s war crimes” at
http://www.dissidentvoice.org
myth number four was interesting:
hey kk, what did you mean when you said
New moons, full moons, and all during Ghost month people burn ghost money.
Imagine an afterlife similar to this one. Ghosts need money and things. If you burn something that resembles money or things and burn it, you can ‘give’ it to the ‘dead’.
:joe: Good Morning, Seditionistarati!:joe:
Well, looks like Israel is still at it with blowing up all those Hizballah babies & old ladies who couldn’t make it out of Qana before Israeli guided missles pulverized their terrorist hideout. :growl::-(:-(:omg:
So, over on DU they are talking about rioting against the UN in Beirut over the latest outrage and Condi has been told to :fu: off and stay the hell outta Lebanon. Well, this is just another fine mess the Bushie Neocons & Likud nutcakes have gotten us into.:mad::growl: :smack:
I am so verklempt about all of this, I can’t see straight.:fustrate::-(:-( :knit2:
Oh, well the monthly Raging Granny meeting :knit::mad:today should help — one of our Central NY Grannies came up with a GREAT song to the tune of Yellow Rose of Texas:
The War is a Disaster
The war is a disaster.
It’s only getting worse.
Dick Cheney and the Neocons
are managing the purse.
The war is a disaster.
and in the Middle East
Israel and Hezbollah
provide a killing feast.
The war is a disaster.
They’re killing children too.
white phosperous and cluster bombs
supplied by me and you.
The war is a disaster
Destruction spreading fast
And no one in the Government
is learning from the past.
The war is a disaster
and so the people vow
with lessons from our forefathers
to stop the killing now!
Grannies will be hitting the streets with this one (and many more contributed by Raging Grannies all over Canada & the US):knit:
Have a good day all — Let’s keep agitating for PEACE!!
:fist::gate::yinyang::fist:
:fire:
morning to you raging granny, looks like you’re at top speed at the first light of day. i sang your words to the song in my head because my husband’s still asleep.
kk, what a sad month, all those wailing ghosts, i see that this is the final day for them until next year, when you go to your neighbors and they are burning money (must smell awful), is it some kind of ritual or more like a party or some combination? do you burn money or participate in some way or do you stay in the background as an observer?
 ms 073004
the old days
ahhh
interesting comment from paul neilan during his interview at identitytheory.com:

foggy –
today is the sixth day of the seventh LUNAR month.
On the first and fifteenth of the LUNAR months there are food offerings and’money is burned. (This is at home AND work)
During ghost month, some burn offerings daily. If there is an offering made (for the building) and you are home,it’s polite to attend, whether you believe or not.
oh, right, LUNAR month. do you have to keep track of two calendars?
foggyblue What are you still doing up?
foggy-yeah, the local calendars have both months posted.
Druid-WHAT KIND OF TEA!!!
druid, often i get this weird sleep pattern, i sleep four hours, get up for three hours, and then go back to sleep for 3 more hours. it works unless i have to be somewhere early in the morning, but since i work at home, i can get away with it.
i guess you work all night and sleep during the day?
King Kong , Hi, did you see my rambling as to why “it appears” I am on when you are? But if I could, after drinking tonight I wish I could go to bed now, but strays and an ex-stray with attitude and arrogance is “stressing me tonight. He isn’t in and scares the strays away. But we must even love a “bully”.
The seventh day of the seventh lunar month is Chinese Valentine’s Day.
Druid-I read why you are on when you are on. But, what kind of tea do you drink!
Hi, foggyblue, regarding working all night, and at home — at least I have that, and feeding strays are during my breaks. Am onto my tea … just boring tea but on certains time I get fancy teas. But like my grandma for daily infusion, just lipton…like me grandmother. In mountains it was Tins of Irish and English Breakfast mostly and Earl Grey and other fun ones.
Druid- the reason I kept asking, I live minutes from numerous different tea fields. ZTea is REALLY and important topic with locals. We drink tea made from whole leaves.
Blair’s cabinet is “in revolt” over his Israel Policy.
King Kong, Regarding Hungry Ghost, I think I told you an ex-stray is called Ghost and I believe I told you how I love things that “go bump in the night”.
But for Samhain (halloween) I had this great skull with smaller skulls dangling and dancing, but someone stole it. I think a neighbor did it since he always complained. But I have a reflecting ghost in door which has a window, hanging now inside. Also since I believe as Death as a part of Life and Life a part of Death, plus there are ghosts here in this old victorian. All gives me happiness and peace. When a certain ghosts acts up a bit there is this grand lady that surrounds me. I am not afraid of either but I deal with intense things so is nice I do not have to deal with the intense ghost very often :love::omg:
The question the BBC is asking is whether the strike on Qana will change the tide of world opinion against Israel.
Israel says that they warned the populace with leaflets and it’s Hezbolah’s fault because they prevent civilians from leaving. But the BBC says that people are afraid to leave because so many civilian cars have been targeted on the way to the north and so many gas stations have been bombed that fuel is in very short supply and those who would brave the raods can’t go anyway.
Beirut told Condi not to bother coming and she’s staying in Israel because”That’s where the work is.”
How’s that let the bombing continue plan of the Bushies doing?
Freeky hapenings during ghostmonths?! I could go on and on.
I’m integrated.
I’m a local.
881
good morning, all…Druid, I hope to hell there are no ghosts in this place, but sometimes I pick up weird vibes, and not good ones. Could be just that the place needs a good physical cleaning and that will help spiritual matters
I understand why Blair’s cabinet would be in revolt. I don’t know why they would characterize it as HIS policy. usually lapdogs do as they are told. It’s had to lead, mush less have a policy, while protrate.
King Kong, Darjeeling Tea I also love and we have some blocks of tea FROM CHINA which is from the old ship Lady Washington — which has port in…Washingtron State hehehe:wink:
So any you can suggest:?: I love tea leaves. I use to brew and read. I miss the brew’n part MMMwah HaHa.
When I use to go to a certain store I would get leaves. And that is how “Herbal medicines” were applied (one way). I might start again since all this talk of Ghost, I feel the season is calling for attention now. Thanks for reminding me of Tea Leaves. The funny thing is I did more Tea Leaves in my City, San Francisco. Interesting.
I see you have gone. :(
Druid what has happened to you? Where are all those :gate::billcat::mrgreen::neutral::doh::ear::grin: gone too? I drink tea to. Good ole ice cold sweet tea. It is a southern tradition. Morning folks. Hope everyone is still alive and kicking. I really could use a big breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage links, hash brown potatos, and toast. Yum, yum. But that would mean going to the store and I don’t want to leave here for fear of losing my good parking place. I really should buy a house but to poor I guess to qualify for a loan. PJ while your in Washington, DC do you think you could eliminate our national nightmare? No? Just a thought. :rofl2:
One of my stepdaughters says there’s an evil presence around our home, but it doesn’t like Tiny Elvis (one of the cats). So, apparently she’s actually good for something besides being crabby and not wanting to associate with the other cats (Tiny, not the stepdaughter).
Perhaps Tiny should make a trip to the Whitehouse. Lots of evil spirits there to route.
Well, I gotta go burn some ghost money at the grocery store, I guess. Actually, some ghost plastic. It’s a challenge trying to figure out what to buy that will either fit in a crappy little frig or not need to be refrigerated, yet does not need to be frozen or cooked.
Not route, I meant rout.
Maybe Cindy can take Tiny down to Crawford for a month.
PJ Well, I gotta go burn some ghost money at the grocery store
and :nod:re 63 possibly , if cat agrees :rofl2:
cnickthomas, ahhhh “sweet tea”…I was suppose to go to aunt in Georgia to learn how to become a proper young lady. Gosh, never got there :rofl2: š
Sue P, and I’ll bring Ghost. There are suppose to be Ghosts there……hmmmmmm mwah haha š
Where are you located Druid?
Way back when, in the 60’s, when we were protesting the Viet Nam War, some folks, including Abby Hoffman decided that they would make the Pentagon levitate in order to let out the evil spirits. Obviously, it didn’t work.
Susan Joy , it is tradition ( with witches especially to do a good cleaning, including spiritual cleaning AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR at “Spring” — or whenever you “feel”it. Samhain is Great too.
I was born and raised in Alabama myself. Someone in here called Alabama “evil” in yesterdays blog. Perhaps so, but I somehow managed not to become one of the evil ones. Least not by my definition of the word. I’m not a Christian, most here in the south are fanatics. I’m not a Republican. Most here in the south used to be Democrats. I remember the day. But they migrated to the Republican Party. I think it was the social issues and abortion that drove many here in the south to the Republican Party. Yeah, I donno why I wasn’t brainwashed like all the rest. I do sometimes wonder why God saw fit to have me spring up here in Alabama. And I wonder what kind of person I’d have been had I been born in a place like NY city? I’ve never ventured far from home. Never flown in a plane. Would love to see what life is like around the world but I haven’t the money for that. Some might call me a country boy. But I’ve always resisted that term. I’m just trapped. So I push back against all the crap I see and hear. It seems as though evil has spread thoughout the world. And I sometimes wonder if rational thoughts will ever return to the minds of men. I worry to much. Doesn’t do someone like me any good. But its just my way.
cnickthomas, in Northern California — born and raise and when I would return to my state each time I fell to my knees and kiss the ground. I even live on California Street. Life is mystically wonderful that way. TeeHee
But it is grand you are in Alabama. It is great to know there are Great Ones throughout this Nation. I always say I was awaken at 13 then volunteered for Dems when I was 14. Most including my parents Just did not “get it”. And that was even in California:eek::rofl2:
Druid_666, sounds like a beautiful part of the country. Perhaps one day I’ll make it out of the south to see other parts of this good earth. Hopefully before man has had a chance to ruin every corner of it! I travel for my job, but only within the state and in my car. Alabama really is a beautiful state. The roads are for shit. And as long as you don’t ask the locals their political and religious beliefs you’ll be okay cause most ppl are friendly and polite. I have anti-Bush stickers on the rear window of my car and I know some of the sweet ladies in Chambers County Courthouse have seen them. But they never treat me any differently. Can’t say what is said when I’m out of the room. Most ppl talk I suspect. I keep hoping that someday these ppl will wake up. But I was hoping the same in the last presidential election and we see what happended! Oh well.
Susan Joy , it is tradition ( with witches especially to do a good cleaning, including spiritual cleaning AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR at āSpringā ā or whenever you āfeelāit. Samhain is Great too. š
Yeah, I’m going to have to do something before Samhain. I think the place really needs it.
Druid, I relate to your post about “great ones” (assume you mean liberals, but then again?…) being all over the country..I look at it this way, if you’re in a “red state” it’s a high calling… there have to be some people around to educate others.
cnickthomas  I am going Nighty, Night soon, but just ALWAYS wanted to tell you I tried several times to leave a message but Maddness…Computer and I have a love /hate relationship.:growl: š
Susan Joy , You came back:wink: You are sensitive enough. If it calls to be swept or burned or ……If you need any ideas just let me know. But you dear witch, must realize, if you have proclaimed who you are then You must do a Ritual Cleansing at least once a year. some do even 4 times and any time you spiritually “play” :crap:can get on your spiritual “stream” teehee bwah haha š
Its raining in Birmingham. I guess its going to rain off and on today. Fine with me. It’ll keep the temps low. The humidity is another story. I like the sound of rain. Peaceful. I guess I really have a lot to be thankful for. I could have been born in a war-torn country in the Middle East like Lebanon. I feel so sad for those people. No people should have to live in such. And all of it seems to stem from religious differences. Perhaps this is why I hate religion so. I can hear the Lennon song, “Imagine.” And I can only wish it were so.
It would be hard to argue there is a God in a day and age that would allow someone like Geo W. Bush to hold such a position of power. How could any higher power allow such? So I wonder of the intelligence of people who claim Bush to be a Godly man! Perhaps they are worshipping some other God? Or perhaps they are just delusional? Maybe man has all the power and there isn’t some divine hand guiding our way. If so, then we’re at the mercy of man. What a frightening thought. Stop the world! I want off.
cnickthomas RAGING Granny and FoggyBlue and, I so agree That why when all is said and done and bush is arrested then out of his money I think he should pay for counselling/psychological visits. That is why something must happen. I still go to protest but i HAVE BEEN DOING SINCE 13. Now trying a different plan.
I am falling asleep, even before sending a message sooo
G’Night, G”Morning To One and To All. Talk more later:wink::yawn:
Ah, well, I managed to escape from the grocery store in fairly quick time, though the salad bar was not yet up, so no fresh greens for me. Supposed to be up at 9:00 on Sundays, but, well, one thing I’ve learned this summer is that things move at their own pace, down here south of the Mason-Dixon line. Syracuse isn’t exactly fast-paced, but compared to here, it’s like the Jetsons. For instance, checkout clerks at the grocery sotres in Syracuse are actually encouraged to get customers through the line in less than an hour. It gets so freakin’ bad that the lines are backed up half way down the food aisles, making both shopping and checking out a real pain in the ass. Oh well, not many trips to the store left.
No, Bush and his ilk are neither godly nor Christian (Kristian, perhaps, but nothing to do with Christ). I’ve never quite understood how people can call themselves followers of the teachings of Jesus and not only have hate in their hearts, but be proud of it.
I can imagine myself in a room. In the room there are three chairs and a table upon which rests a handgun. I am sitting in one chair. Geo W in the other and Dick Chaney in the third chair. The table is in the middle of the room, its lethal weapon within reach of all. What would you do? Please! This is merely a thought experiment. Not a call to action. So I don’t need lectures about what I’ve written here. One would have to consider the consequences of such an action. The good it may bring to the future of mankind. It makes me wonder what direction this world might have taken had John F. Kennedy not been assassinated. Had Robert F. Kennedy survived? Had Martin Luther King lived? Would we still be on the brink of fascism?
Who knows? I think things happen the way they happen because that’s the way they were supposed to happen. I mean, suppose MLK hadn’t been killed, and a plan that was already in place to smear him by publishing pictures of him in compromising positions with women of ill repute (real or fake), therby destroying his credibility with his followers. So instead of him becoming a martyr, he becomes a disgraced minister, and the peaceful civil rights movement is overtaken by violent revolution that leaves our nation burning, and hundreds of thousands dead and imprisoned. There are millions – an infinite number – of possible scenarios (or “strings”), but the one that was supposed to happen in our reality is the one that happened.
There’s a story on Rawstory about a pastor of a megachurch who says that the church should not be involved in politics and sexual morality because Jesus never was. True, Jesus never mentioned either abortion or homosexuality. He supported the paying of taxes, too.
Bush is neither godly nor Christian. And, those that think that bombs are the sign of the American god are not either.
Bush isn’t ever going to be arrested Druid_666, that is just wishful thinking. He’s always gotten away with every evil thing he has done. And all these people thinking he’ll get his some day . . . please . . . it will never happen. Bush will survive till the end of his term and we’ll all be the worse for it. And no telling what damage he’ll have done by the end, in his final days. The Democrats will never impeach Bush. They are to weak kneed for that. I cannot respect many in our party who have no backbone and fear this evil man. Whatever happened to standing on principal?
Hey there, KP, you gotta write that down or e-mail it to yourself. š
Good Morning you guys. :joe::40: I get to put Bailey’s into my coffee this morning. House sitting is great! There is booze and chocolate all OVER this house! W#oo HOO!
I do write it down but I keep leaving it at the house I’m not at!

Comment by King Kong ā July 30, 2006 @ 7:13 am
So, what’s the point of being a ghost if you still need STUFF!??
I agree, Bush won’t get arrested, or face the punishment he deserves (not in this lifetime, anyway; maybe in an afterlife or in the next one, if you believe in that). People like that never do. The best we can hope for is that he’ll be effectively neutered for the rest of his term, and that the world will still be here after he’s done.
As for why the universe allowed his administration to come to pass, perhaps it’s because we’ve become so complacent and have strayed so far from out potential that we needed to be shocked into action. Or, this is actually how the end times are being played out.
I think things have happended in this country at the hand of men. They witnessed things going in one direction while they favored another. And they saw that it was within their power to act to change the direction of the world. They didn’t merely talk about it or hope that it might happen. They made it happen. By acting. Who can say that maybe the assassination of President John F. Kennedy was not the action of just one insane man? Perhaps it was the action of men who did not like the direction of this country. A call to change its course? I do not believe in all this talk of end times. Armeggadon is just religious nonsense to me. But I’m as close to an atheist as one could come. I respect ones right to believe in a higher power. But one cannot deny the evil things that people do in the name of God.
Oh, i don’t think Lee Harvey acted alone. Don’t wanna get in to the JFK assasination thing, but I think Lee was a willing patsy, and he may have gotten a few lucky shots off (hey, stranger things have happened) but he at the very least had help in planning the whole thing, and I’ll bet there were people in place to make sure he didn’t miss.
Ha PJ! I gotta think about all that stuff when shopping too. Except I can cook it. I don’t eat so many salads anymore because vegis take up too much room so I drink Green Machine instead. Can’t keep ice cream in the freezer so if I want ice cream I have to get it when I want it. And I have to use my condiments instead of collecting a whole bunch of different ones. I would like to have a slightly bigger fridge but what I like about the small fridge is there is less waste. Things don’t get lost and forgotten as much and you are forced to plan.
Yeah, I go and fill up a bigass tub-o-lettuce and whatnot at the salad bar that lasts me a couple of days. I mix some canned chick peas in with it, as well as some canned corn and either canned tuna or canned chicken (sense a pattern there?). The lettuce here is like $2.99 a head, and when you pick it up, it feels like a green balloon filled with air. The bag-o-lettuce looks really crappy and is very expensive, but the salad bar stuff looks good, and then adding the other stuff from cans keeps the weight and price down.
I have been leaning more and more towards atheism because of the fanatacism surrounding religion anymore. I am convinced that the only reason spirituality organized into religion was to control people, and not in a good way either. I thinik humans are naturally spiritual and authoritarian types have used that for greed and power and that’s IT. I don’t believe there was ever any good intentions involved when religion was invented by man. Fuckers! :fu:
Yeah, It is interesting to contemplate how things might have been different had those shots by Lee Harvey Oswald and his co-conspirators not have succeeded in taking the life of President Kennedy. I just have to believe that there is something bigger at work here. And I wonder if liberals are capable of getting down and dirty to fight the actions of the evil ones. It seems we aren’t so good at that. So we just hope that Bush and the Republicans in Congress will fuck up so that it’ll be a cakewalk. I’d like to think things so easy. But I figure the Republicans will just find another way to steal the elections.
I think Bush and co are exactly what you get when people are apathetic. I don’t think God “let” it happen. We did.
Agree Kristapea. Hey!
To once again quoteth from Roger Waters:
:rofl2:
If you want to contemplate fate, think about if Al Gore had gotten his rightful place as president in 2000. I am convinced that 9/11 wouldn’t have happened. Al’s presidency would have been frought with made up scandals and repugs trying to trip him up for sure. And maybe he wouldn’t have been as effective but I am still sure 9/11 wouldn’t have happpened.
I would love to see these bastards serve time but it’s pretty doubtful. So I pray that these assholes will be reincarnated in a place where their policies have ruined everything. They will all be born poor in a banana republic and experience the kind of life they helped to create. Although, I guess wishing that on anyone kind of perpetuates the madness, doesn’t it. Crap. š
People do not respect a wuss. They respect those who are willing to fight for their cause. To stand and be counted. To punch someone in the belly if need be. The tell it like it is kind of man or woman. I don’t see much of that out there in the Democrat party. Its sad to think how PC we have all become. I can respect someone more who’ll just tell me to my face what they think of me. “Cnick, I hate queers!” Then I can tell you back: “I think Chrisitians are STUPID waiting 2000 fucking years for Christ to return, what idiots!”
I think my computer is dead. It won’t even boot up anymore. I have no idea when I’ll be able to afford a new one and mine wasn’t cheap either. Looks like it’s internet cafe’s for me from now on. What the hell am I gonna do in the morning now??
Yeah, I agree. I think Al would’ve paid attention to “al-Qaeda determined to attack inside the US.” But even if it had happened, I think we’d have had a president that would have said, “it’s hatred and thinking of a people as if they aren’t human beings that motivates them to commit suicide by trying to kill as many people as they can. We need to make sure sure this never happens again, of course by finding the people that planned these attacks and bringing them to justice, but more importantly by working to rid the world of the injustice that leads to this hatred in the first place.”
How long should a computer last? I think if you pay $2000 for something it should last more than 4 years. :fu:
by the time I finish catching up on the blog I have to take off – time time time. frustrated at the world and not feeling particularly hopeful these days. BUT -> thanks for another great post, pj.
KP – hope Jane is ok (you took her to the vet, right?)
and Melina took blue-casted teen to the doc and hope he was helped.
and KK had a fine date and helped the ghosts, although I thought KP’s point was a good one!
religion seems to screw everything up and the Bible is really just a bunch of stories written by man so how can folks believe it word for word or as a prognosticator??
:gate: be well blog people and belated :cake: TRAV!
XXXOOOOO
So you’re at the Cafe Kristapea? Sowwi, I wish I could help you out. One of those damn Windows machines I guess? Just kidding about Windows. Despite my love for my Apple machine, I know that Windows is an excellent operating system.
Exactly, I don’t think Gore would have used 9/11 to instill fear and hatred. He would have honestly tried to prevent it from happening again and actually done things to protect our borders and used diplomacy instead of war mongering to protect us.
the Reichwing would have demonized Al if 9-11 happened under him (although i believe it would not have happened). the PASS they gave to bushevik would NEVER have been tolerated.
Hey FK! I don’t know if Jane is going to be okay. I thought she might have sprained something or pulled a muscle, I was hoping anyways, but she may have a slipped disco and I can’t affor5d x rays much less surgery. So the doc gave me some pregnasolone and something else for inflamation. She is still not walking on it and the muscle in that leg is deteriorating. But she is perky and eating much better now. I wonder if I can do some physical therapy on her leg to try to keep the muscle moving.
Hey, FK, coming back already?
KP, I doubt your computer is totally wasted. Could be a bad hard drive, and they aren’t free, but are fairly cheap these days. Or it could just be corrupted. Or, it could be something else. I wish I could have a look at it for you. I would try and make a boot disk (either CD or Floppy, depending on what you have), and see if it’ll boot off of that. If it does, then you’ll know it’s a hard drive issue. You can try reformatting the drive (see if you can download a free disk utility, and boot off it, and do what they call a “low-level” format ). You’ll lose all your stuff, of course. If it can’t do that, you may have a drive that’s bad. If you can, then try and load your OS on it. If you can boot off a CD or floppy, you can get hold of a bunch of freeware utilities to check the memory and whatnot. Usually a memory error will give you a bunch of beeps when you you try to start up. Does it POST (go through all that startup type stuff before the OS loads)?
Agree FK. The Repubs went after Bill Clinton. They hounded him. Called him every name in the book. But if you challenge Bush they call you un American! Is this F***ed or what?
No, I’m not at a cafe right now. I am house sitting til tomorrow.
I wish I could trust ANY politician, but the truth is I don’t know if Gore or anyone else would not have exploited 9/11…let’s face it, it was a gold mine to be exploited, whenever politicians can generate fear in the populace I just assume they’ll jump at the chance. That goes for any politician in power in either party. I guess I’ve become completely cynical.
I guess I’ll listen to my future husband, Michael Buble sing to me now. He puts my mind at ease. So peaceful and sweet. The world is to complicated. Life to hard at times. Wonder if death is a peaceful rest? I guess I’ll find out someday.
Okay, PJ. I had little clue what you were saying but I printed it out and will decipher it later. š It’s still gonna take me a long time to fix it though. It had to break down when I am at my poorest. Maybe I’ll get some exercise now.
We have a new radio station here that plays Michael Buble quite a bit. They play Dean Martin, Sinatra etc and I have been enjoying it quite a lot. It helps me forget how freaking poor and depressed I am. It’s funny because I used to totally make fun of that kind of music and now I’m old enough to appreciate it I guess.
Yeah, sorry KP. It’s hard to type stuff out that makes sense.
Maybe Gore would have exploited and scared us, but I bet he would hae scared us into higher CAFE standards and green technology, and Kyoto, and….
Hey everyone…just a driveby again because Im trying to clean everything, get with the Lamont people, and understand the morning shows.
…meantime I have a huge post for RIPCoco but wrote it in the middle of the night and am just unsure…so need more time to go over and over and over things….
Need to wash dogs and clean the basement…on Tuesday the water man comes to put in the radon abatement thing because somehow, this house built on a boulder has finally started letting in some radon…but apparently into the well, so maybe thats removed from the house and in the well pump area…..AND my sump pump. Oh man, every girl needs a good sump pump!:rofl2:
I never had so many problems with flooding but its probably the intensity of the storms because it seems that the flood has to come at an angle to really fill up and overwhelm the old stone drain down there….
Someone threw all sorts of fencing into my dumpster, and my Mom just watched rather than yelling down to ask them what the fuck they were doing….
So now Ive posted a huge sign saying that its a prvate dumpster and is monitored by video cameras…heh hee
I guess I’ll try some coffee flavored Ramen noodles for lunch, and then head on out to “the mall” to buy a new book to read. Problem is that I only have five pairs of clean underwear left, so today I’m “freestylin'” and with the wether as hot and humid as it is, well, let’s just say I wish I had a wheelbarrow with me. I was thinking about rigging something up with rubber bands and a zip lock bag, but it looked both painful and arousing, which is no way to walk around the mall.
I guess I’d have to credit Harry Connick, Jr., for introducing me to this type of music. And Itunes for giving me the chance to discover Michael Buble. I love so many types of music. I majored in Music in College. And during my college years I only listened to classical music, i.e., Beethoven, Shubert, Gustav Maher, Stravinski. Great love for music. It’s about the only thing in my life that keeps me sane. Damn television doesn’t. I always seem to gravitate to CNN and we all know what awaits us there. Another “Breaking Story” about the Wars in the Middle East! I really need to break free of the News Channel and watch something funny. Laugh a little. Now that they took Marc away from us. No flooding here in Bham Melina. We’re a RED State! Yikes! Sorry to hear of your troubles. Floods, wars and rumors of wars! The apocalypse? Oh no . . . I’m in trouble now!
:rofl2: Hey Melina, maybe you should put up a sign that says, “Monitored by a sniper”
oh and Kat….this Dr is a top full professor at Colombia Medical school and according to Google he has written tons of books and studies on adolescent psychiatry…is actually able to diagnose and medicate maybe…or not…but will see Will 3 more times or so before he even starts to figure it out. Im just as happy to have him really take his time…but he said that the hospital is maybe not what he woulda done because it was a poor match…oh well…
Its becoming impossible for me to even figure things out anymore….
and Im just underneath this Frank Rich op-ed from today…and the lebanon guy just on with Timmeuh saying that he loves and respects Hezbollah….
and the people/locals/terrorists/babies with bombs under their cribs on the ground now are, as I was writing last night, like hitting a mushroom with a hammer and watching the spores fly round the world….
Why is it that humans ONLY interact with force….how many people have to die before people realize that there are ways to go about these things that dont involve bombs and shooting……
everything is about TAKING, when the answer might be GIVING…..
PJ š That is a lovely image with the rubber bands, ziplocks and wheel barrow. šÆ
Hey, Doomsday: Book of Revelation is on the National Geographic Chanel right now, with Secrets of the Revelation up next, if you wanna get in the mood for the Apocalypse.

Rice Returns to Israel to Press for Cease-Fire
By STEVEN ERLANGER and HELENE COOPER
There was a sense that President Bush had decided to give Israel a shorter period in which to hammer Hezbollah in Lebanon.
HAMMER Rice!:omg:
Yeah, Gore would have Greener policy and that’s no small thing…
Well, Krista…I was almost that mad….but then Im just like all these warring peoples…maybe I shoulda put up a sign saying FREE DUMPING…but please leave a donation in this cup because Im a single Mom living in granddad’s house….
You know, people are so rich around here that they assume that everyone is….so if a contracotr is driving around with trash that he will have to pay to dump he figures that it wont hurt anyone to just put it on the rich folks in North Stamford….(heavenb knows that grandpa spent anough years too cheap to hire the garbag collection service so took bags with him and dumped them in other people’s cans;-))
I am so tired of being a human being in this world….
Id better take a shower and go up to the lamont office so I can start to perk up a bit.
I had a good idea yesterday and am waiting for word from the head handlers as to whether they will let me start it….
and also they need to have Ned speak about Israel…
He is in line with Lieberman, so might as well say it when this very jewish area just votes for Joe because hes a jew and pro israel…
The difference is in Iraq….
I think that I alienated a few jews at the gym who are very israel centric….but I managed through my blog and in person out with a bunch of women on Friday to get more votes for Lamont…
We’ve got one week….and cant tell how much damage the Clinton visit did….
Maybe Hillary will appear with Ned, just to complete the circle!
That reminds me . . . I ordered the Sunday editions of the New York Times to be delivered here weeks ago Goddamnit! Where is it? Does it take frigging forever to get in the system? Or is some right-wing thug tossing my paper in the waste bend? I wouldn’t put anything past Karl Rove to fuck with me. That bas-turd!
Wait for the neocons to throw Condi to the wolves now :omg:
PJ- I was just talking to the gals on my fun night out about the Yanomamo tribe….they are the ones who click for language…(cultural anthropology in college) well, the men tie their ding dongs up round their waist with a string, balls a flappin down…But its easily dont with a sttring round the circumcicsion (another reason, I guess) and then tied up round the waist….
very funny!
I believe that the talk was a bit about the silliness of men (I dont want to say “uselessness” but the gals were going on about how clueless the husbands are and how slowly they do things…I know thats certainly not like anyone ono this blog…so it must be a southern CT thing!
I was espousing the ‘put em in their own long house’ theory and visit just for fun….
Ah, another chance to quote Roger Waters lyrics.
OK, I’ll stop now.
Yeah men are particular about their pee pee’s Melina. Ha ha!
cnick- the best thing about the deliver of the weekend times is that you then get select…if you give me an email address I will send you the op eds in the mean time….I sent out frank rich today already because I havent posted it yet….
I so hesitate because alot of people are looking at my lamont/lieberman stuff and I dont want to be violating cw laws if huffpo inside and shays and…any number of behind the scenesters…
I think it says more about their taste in men, than anything else. Personally, I suffered from the NGB syndrome most of my life “you’re a Nice Guy, But….”
Of course, they’d sit around and tell me what an asshole their boyfriends were, and how they just wished they could meet a “nice guy like you.” I tried travelling around with a big neon arrow, but it didn’t work.
Yeah I get Select Melina. Thanks I can just read them there. You are a sweetie though. . I looked for a smooch emoticon on here to paste. I guess I missed it up there. PJ? Where is it?
:rofl2: PJ that was just so funny. “. . .they just wished they could meet a ānice guy like you.ā I tried travelling around with a big neon arrow, but it didnāt work.” If it makes you feel any better life isn’t so peachy in the Gay world either! But you’re married now and don’t have to worry about chasing the girls. I’ve grown content living alone . . . well almost. I do have a dependant roomie. More like a little bro or son than a roommate. He’s a messy guy. I’m always cleaning up the kitchen after his messes. My mommy once told me that we’d get it back at us someday for being such unruly kids. I guess Jeremy is my mom’s answer to parent abuse. Really do miss my mom and dad. It would be nice to go back and re-live some of the past. Just to visit with my parents again would be nice. Oh my, I need to stop before I cry. That certainly wouldn’t do good for my manly image.
Oh, that gives me an opportunity to quote Don McLean lyrics.
Hmm, Cnick, it might be worse in the gay world. You guys can be much more tied to looks than women sometimes and it doesn’t seem to abate as much you get older. I have many gay friends who are middle aged and still have not settled down with anyone because their standards are too high. But then, I’m still single too.:roll: just a sec, lemme think about this a little more.
I never did much in the way of chasing. I’m rather spectacularly inept in social situations. It takes me a long time to warm up, and groups of more than a few people seem to kick off the circuit breaker that works my personality (such as it is). If my wife hadn’t stalked me on the Internet, I’d probably still be sitting all alone in a room somewhere, banging away on my computer.
Hey, wait a minute….
:rofl2::rofl2::rofl2::rofl2: PJ you missed your calling!
If my wife hadnāt stalked me on the Internet, Iād probably still be sitting all alone in a room somewhere, banging away on my computer.
Hey, wait a minuteā¦.

Kristapea . . . ahhhhhh I’d give you a BIG hug if you were here in Bham!
:love::grin::peace:
I predict that Lamont will not speak out against Israel. If he does…we’ll see. It would make it interesting if he does the right thing. Shitstorm city!
:omg:
Statement by Lamont:
At this critical time in the Middle East, I believe that when Israel’s security is threatened, the United States must unambiguously stand with our ally to be sure that it is safe and secure. On this principle, Americans are united.
….Unlike previous administrations – Republican and Democratic – President Bush has embraced the wrong priorities in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. …Let’s be clear that Bush emphasized Iraq at the expense of an Israeli-Palestinian peace settlement, and we are reaping the consequences. Just think what the situation could have been if the United States had invested its power, prestige, and resources in a peace settlement. Instead we chose a failed war and stand virtually alone, paying a heavy price for a profoundly failed set of decisions.
His proposal:
Lamont Policy: Change Priorities and Pursue a Peace Settlement
All Americans want the kidnapped soldiers to be returned and this cycle of violence to end, based on the principles of U.N. Security Council Resolution 1559 of 2004, which calls for Hezbollah militias to be disbanded and disarmed, with the government of Lebanon taking full control of all of its territory. It is not for the United States to dictate to Israel how it defends itself. Nor is it my place to make tactical recommendations to the president. But I do have some strategic suggestions about what our country should do moving forward.
After the fighting stops, the President needs to reengage in this part of the world and work on a peace settlement and a response to the humanitarian concerns in Gaza and elsewhere. We should not seek to impose a resolution on Israel. But peace between Israel and its neighbors must be a priority.
Without negotiating with terrorist groups like Hamas and Hezbollah, President Bush and the Secretary of State ought to be working on a peace settlement with Israel, the Palestinians and others who might help. The outlines of a peace agreement are there; both sides agree: land for recognition, peace and security.
Other Presidents have made progress in this difficult region. There’s no reason why this President should not reverse course and become engaged for peace.
This is Democrat Boilerplate.
Melina, the doc sounds good – a “learn what the kid is about approach.” don’t kick yourself on the hospital. We do the best we can with the info we have.
ok, stopped by qickly so as not to get behind on the blog but the mother will be ready soon.
Tomorrow I head for CO. Will meet up with mr and stay at relative’s house for a week. I do NOT miss the polluted air at home.think the husband returns to sandbox around the 14th. Says he’d rather be in Lebanon.
PS PJ, You’d best be getting back to NY soon – this baggie thing has me concerned! š
I guess I’ll listen to some Air America on Itunes. Streaming from Itunes coolness. I would cancel my XM but I love it for the car. So I guess I’ll bow out for now . . . the “Knowing when to leave” formula. Be back later on this evening. Now where is that damn newspaper?
KP -Oh, you might try giving Jane Glucosamine and Chondroitin – it very much helps old dogs. You can use the human formula and it’s cheaper than the dog formula. I used one that my dog would easily eat. Really helped my old crippled Briard.
I got this in an email. Interesting.

ESCALATE NOW!
Translate Courage into Power
with Nonviolent Civil Disobedience.
Calling all 911truth activists who want to make a real and lasting difference.
We can set a new record for the most states involved
in a coordinated civil disobedience action on the same day.
THE MEDIA WILL HAVE TO COVER ITS SCALE AND CONTENT.
If we successfully invite calm, orderly, nonviolent civil disobedience arrests in 24 states on the same day, we will set an all-time record for such coordinated protests that will be hard for the media to ignore. The action we propose is simple, safe and civilized, just flyer a suburban mall theater where it is prohibited when Oliver Stoneās movie opens in August. Stone’s personal plot perspective is not important. The crucial point is that the audiences will be large and care about the issue, and the opening day hype will draw lots of media cameras to record our gesture and perhaps our comments, too.
When checking which malls would arrest us for leafleting, we will also find some that allow these activities, opening up new venues for 9/11 education and outreach. Other grassroots political activists can also use these venues to expand their own activities, and gradually turn these consumerist complexes into democratic information centers as well.
Many local groups can be started or enlarged
around regular leafleting at such theaters.
In our action day leaflet we would call for the Editor in Chief of some large local daily paper to promise readers he/she will either investigate the hard questions about 9/11 or else resign.
Penalties will vary, but most people can get arrested without serving time. If thatās the only way you can risk arrest, a local lawyer can confirm your chances of getting off with a fine or having the case dropped after 3 or 6 months if you donāt get arrested again.
We consulted a movement attorney and he feels the law is moving away from arrests in such situations. This means stiff penalties are even MORE unlikely. Many theaters would decline to arrest or remove leafleters, and issue a ban and bar letter instead. Those who receive these letters could choose to get arrested simply by going back.
Those who wish to maximize the impact of their effort can try to convince a jury to find them not guilty (often referred to as jury nullification). Others can try to use their trials to win the right to leaflet in malls and expand First Amendment freedoms for everyone. Still others can plead guilty and serve time in an attempt to touch peopleās hearts and show the government they are not afraid to stand up for truth. This last option is the Gandhian model.
I am open to repeating Gandhi’s plea to the judge, āIf you believe in what youāre doing, give me the stiffest sentence you can. If you donāt believe in what youāre doing, resign.ā
Everyone can follow their conscience on which plea they will make. The only common requirement is that you do not deny that you were there or what you did.
Our leaflet can have the same well crafted nationally uniform statement on the front side, and a personal statement on the back.
It is crucial to make sure that the theater, its employees, and police all understand that they have nothing to fear physically from your action or intent. We are issuing a moral challenge, not a physical one. We will need prior written agreement from each arrestee to follow our nonviolent guidelines. This is an attempt to protect the action and the group from those acting in bad faith.
We will need the participation of many other 9/11 truth activists to support those who will invite arrest.
Volunteers will be needed to help with legal leafleting at theaters which allow it. Also, coordinated efforts will be needed in media work, legal assistance, and personal support for arrestees.
We are now seeking people willing to help make this important and overdue statement. If you are at all interested in exploring this option, please send us contact information including the geographical area where you would like to risk arrest. No commitment is needed yet. Since a primary goal is to set a new record for such arrests (the current record being 23 states, including DC, during the 2003 actions against the Iraq invasion), you would not have to commit until we have volunteers from at least 24 states on board.
Personally I have engaged in nonviolent civil disobedience more than twenty times, including a 1982 anti-nuclear power leafleting/ trespass arrest in New Hampshire for which I served four months in jail.
We will organize using conference calls and/or a listserve. Please contact me if you have any interest.
Seize the Time! David Slesinger dslesinger@alum.mit.edu 240-221-3293(h)
No one much is speaking out round here because these people are rabid…like, they go to Israel every summer for a month…they want to be buried there….
but even they are feeling very uncomfortable with the violence….of course the lebanese prime minister or whoever just was on talking about how much he respects Hezbollah….
I have some doggie glucosamine but have been waiting for her appetite to come back and get through these prescriptions the doc gave me. She’s been really good about swallowing the pills but I don’t wanna push it.
9/11 leafleting at theaters! WTF is that all about? It sounds like another big energy suck.
If the Christians can do it, so can the ISI’s š
Hmm. This is in the Jerusalem Post:
Aaaaand, thank you Ned Lamont. So much for millionaire candidates being independent and above the fray. Guess money doesn’t buy everything, you gotta pander, too. :blech: and play to the baser instincts :fu:
Foggyblue, I just pasted your tinyurl instructions onto a stickie note on my desktop, I’ll try it out next time I want to forward something. Also, I took the liberty of forwarding that jonathan cook article from dissidentvoice (minus your name!) to a friend of mine across the country, who was telling me on the phone yesterday that it was ‘troubling’ that Hizbullah ‘hides’ among the population. I wanted to challenge that, but didn’t have the, er, ammuntion, to back it up. That article serves the purpose, so thank you.
The news just stays at a sickening roar :omg:; Noam Chomsy is on Larry Bensky’s morning show on kpfa, I’m gonna go feed Samsara the Wonderkat :billcat:, revive myself from 5 hours sleep and get ready to go see the Mime Troupe’s Godfellas. Druid, are you here in San Francisco? Anyone else here in San Francisco? I would love to meet you!

Kristapea,
For what it’s worth: My dog, Emily, became suddenly paralyzed about 1 1/2 years ago. The possibilities, according to my vet, were, FEC, a slipped disc or cancer.
The paralysis was complete and occured as she lay on the floor. She did not seem to be in pain.
If the diagnosis had been cancer my vet counseled that we do nothing. If it was FEC or a slipped disc she said it would probably cure itself with some steroid help.
It turned out to be FEC. For the life of me I can’t remember what it stands for but it was an embolism caused by the leakage of fluid from a disc. She had a very severe case. Most FEC cases affect only one leg, sometimes two. Emily has recovered, although she still limps. There are a number of websites devoted to FEC and they have some good info.
Question: has anyone tried posting a graphic here? I have a Norwegian cartoon I want to post, it is causing a stir. What’s the chances of the cartoon coming through intact here?
Ok, never mind about the cartoon, it doesn’t even transfer. I’ll try to find a link to it (better get on that tinyrul learning curve…)

bushinc. are going to stay in power at least for the next two years. They are going to continue tightening the vise/vice of corruption that has utterly poisoned this once pretty okay nation. There will be more and more unquestioned bloodshed visited upon the most vulnerable across the world. The fucking goddamn useless democrats will continue sucking the public teat to hold on to their tenuous grasp of whatever power they have left. This country is the largest collection of unquestioning dumbasses in human history NOT including anyone who contributes to this or any other progressive blog or those many who (knowing what’s facing them in the real world) can only try and hold their families and themselves together in the face of the tremendous cluster-fuck this world has become under chenybushrumsfeld et al, or the sad minority of people who see things for what they are outside the corporatized and utterly corrupt media.:fu::fustrate::jason:

Kristapea, my heart goes out to you and your doggie. Hope she (he?) is as pain free as possible. š
Dershowitz implies that Israel’s assault on Lebanon, which has killed close to 500 innocent civilians, compared with 18 Israeli civilians killed by Hizbollah’s response, is not only “reasonable”, but “proportional.” This is a typical racist argument, which states that when you kill one of ours, and we kill 20 of yours, our action is by definition reasonable and proportional. In other words, racists do not assign equal value to the lives of “others” compared to theirs. The U.S., of course, is equally steeped in this racist mind-set, with many Americans continuing to perpetrate Jimmy Carter’s assertion that there was “equal and mutual destruction” between American and Vietnam. The numbers involved speak to the racism and inhumanity that such a statement represents: Americans killed: 52,000; Vietnamese killed: over 2.5 million! “Equal and mutual” in Jimmy Carter’s racist vocabulary become “Reasonable and Proportional” when Dershowitz applies the terms to Israel’s actions.

Wow, talk about social ineptness and being single, that’s me. I’m fine in the winter time when I tend to stay home more. But round about mid-summer, right at this time, the extra Vit. D/sunlight/longer days, make me long for someone to cuddle with. And I am clueless to the flirting, chasing game. Add the overlay of being an over-45 female in a youth-fixated society, and I see the prospects are more for ‘meaningful’ friendships than for hooking up with a partner or even a sometime partner. I’ll get over it in the winter. Nothing against the young, I just would appreciate if more than one standard of beauty was appreciated in this society that worships titless hipless buttless concentration camp lookalikes. My coworkers and friends are getting hooked up, when’s it gonna be *my* turn? Oh yeah, I forgot, I’m ok about being alone, this society inculcates fear of being alone, we have to learn to appreciate our own company. Ok, it’s summer, even here in SF, and I’ve been appreciating my own company all winter (funny, it was in the dead of dreary winter that I dumped the boyfriend). Ok, I had to get that out, I’ll be ok now. :40:
My dog paralysis situations here have always been due to Lyme disease….
You go, NickiRose! If I hear one more liberal pundit fondly pine for Carter…or Nixon…:crap:
ex ny’er re #173- Same boat here.
Maybe Raging Granny could hold a seminar for us on internet stalking?
ex- I know what you feel like, but I was so happy when I broke up with the last one and then so busy with Will that Im just happy not to have to deal with someone else’s wheelbarrow and ziplock bags, ifyouknowwhatimean….but also I feel ok alone and have been out and interacting…getting involved with campaigns and tech and whatever else….
But Im not gonna be looking for anyone out there because , as eharmony told me when I filled out a simple questionaire one time: there is no one for me currently….HA
maybe someone will come along….but if not, oh well…
and a ton of people I know are getting divorced right now, so it all seems so useless.
Now that Im someone who is picking dry bird crap out of my hair, Im sure that Im not exactly what most guys are looking for….politics, dogs, birds, complications, a kid…
And now Im the crazy bird lady driving round with a car full of Lamont signs…..placing them on lawns…:omg:
Truthfully- I am happiest single maybe due to never having been in a good relationship.
lets just say there is so much yarn around here there is no room for a man!
Oh, Ive internet stalked before…and its no different really than goign out and meeting someon, but you can get all that stuff out of the way, like are you a Republican, do you like kids….
Its still the same stuff…all the elements have to be there no matter if youre young or old…and most men Ive met find the young girls with the tight stomachs to be a little …er…young…stupid…not have much in common with anyone who is grown up.
So, at a point (though I do tend to like guys slightly younger than myself) its a fine line as to who is attractive and who is grown up enough to have mature ideas and intelligence enough to hold a conversation.
All those guys with the very young girls are surely not to demanding in the intellect department, because even a smart young girl is not really an experienced mature woman…right? Doesnt the flat stomach wear off after a while?

good for you sblue-maybe the person for you (and me) is supposed to be for a later act…someone who likes yarn and birds and driving round….and politics!
But then you get them at the age wher eyou have to trim their ear hair etc…ugh!
I guess its better to have to deal with the unslightliness and decay of getting old than the stupidity and firmness of youth!
They are fifing on protesters in gaza….firing into the air but still a little too close for comfort….
And as if anyone is gonna televise a march on washington…of all places…
PJ, you stay inside!! The work youre doing here is more important than getting killed at the arab march…
Why cant it be a HUMAN march???
Once you say Arab you get all the crazies riled up…
This is a human problem…
firing….as opposed to fifing which has some musical connotation that…well, maybe marching to war or something.
Oh, and the Leb. envoy to the UN was the one who went on about how he respects the heros in Hezbollah…under close and pepper like questioning by Timmeuh….
I like that PJ…sorry for the boom boom….
Someone to drive me around would be nice- I could get some knitting done and well there’s the Oregon Coast twice a year. Next week in fact.

I’m having an identity crisis today.
KP – ok, if you already haven’t, try Bil-Jak frozen dog food that you defrost. it’s cheap and dogs LOVE it Especially older puppy dogs.. (buy it in the freezer in at pet shops and grocery stores.) You can even squish it around pills to make a happy dork. (the ingredients are not something pleasurable to read, however) A few dog breeders I know swear by it and people who have had slow eating dogs rave about it.

Kat…I missed your post…travelling?…I hope its to cooler climes…but the heat is moving east so…its gonna get very hot here just in time for PJ to get home!!
Im gonna go pick up my birdcage and maybe baby bird. They may let me do the weaning here because Ive gotten pretty good at the baby bird thing.
Hey Melina is the baby bird you are picking up the Jardine parrot?
It is so delightfully cool now in Seattle. The first day I can smell Autumn in the air.
Oy, too many comments for me to catch up with, but thank you Melina and sblue, you make good points. I keep plenty busy (since I last posted I have almost finished a short translation of a presentation a friend of mine is doing) and now I’ve gotta run, to see the Mime Troupe. Melina, I know Lieberman is not to be tolerated, but isn’t there anyone to the left of Lamont running? DId you see earlier in the blog today his pathetic pandering to Israel? Is he really going to be that much better than Lieberman? :fustrate:

People, get reADY for the End Times. 666
According to historicist interpretations, the second coming of Christ occurs about the time that a partly reunited Europe starts to wage war against Israel. This view is held mainly by Fundamentalist Protestant Christians. The exact constitution of this confederacy differs between interpretations: in some it is mainly composed of Eastern European countries, notably Russia; in others, Western European; some include Britain, while others suggest that Britain and former Commonwealth nations will oppose the confederacy. In all historicist interpretations, Christ defeats this confederacy, rescues Israel from certain destruction, judges apostate Christianity and vindicates the true believers, and sets up a kingdom on earth.
When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world…Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels…And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. (Matt 25:31-34, 41, 46)
If you have his love it’s the Golden Kingdom.
If you’ve turned away, you’ll fry in Hades.
Watch for the signs! 666 Great holes in the ground.
I don’t know if Christ will want to interfere with this mess in the Middle East…I know I can barely read about it without getting nauscious…
come here and I’ll show you the end times :omg::pent:
A End of Times 666 RFID Chips:
Retailers love them, privacy advocates eye them with suspicion and some Christians think they’re the “mark of the beast.” For such tiny devices, RFIDs are stirring up huge controversies.
But even as the tags infiltrate a range of things from clothing and pets to passports and license plates, confusion abounds over how the devices work, and what problems and advantages they bring.
Here are answers to some of the most common questions about this increasingly ubiquitous technology.
What is RFID?
RFID stands for radio frequency identification. A computer chip is attached to an antenna, and they are often referred to together as an RFID tag. Data stored on the chip transmits wirelessly through the antenna to an RFID reader or scanning device that operates on the same frequency as the antenna.

Re: 203. Good to know I don’t believe in such garbage. Wonder why it only took God six days to create heaven and earth, but its taking Jesus Christ over 2 thousand years to prepare a place in heaven for his followers? It’s all bullshit ppl. When your dead . . . your dead! Just like Jesus Christ. Dead as a door knob. :rofl2: We have religion to thank for the mess in the Middle East. That’s what religion has given us. The sooner it is put down the better. And after this time passes and no JC returns these idiot Christians will still be waiting for Christ to return. Will these ppl ever open their minds to fact v. fiction/myth.

I doubt that the EU will confront Israel for several more years in so much as they can’t decide on the criteria for going to the bathroom at the moment. “All the good bands are in Hell.” Flaming Lips
Yeah, isn’t that a rerun on 60 Minutes? I could swear I saw the U2 one, and I seem to remember the NASA dude and the Osama bodyguard.
I’m a dancing fool Kristapea! I may even :40: to that one.
Yeah, but if there’s a rock & roll heaven, you know they got a hell of a band.
Is everything on television a repeat? I guess I’ll just have to go out on the hunt tonight regardless of all the fun I had last night! But we won’t talk about that.
Cnick, I should introduce you to my friend Narsissy. He LOVES to antagonize Christians and does it every chance he gets. Back in the day, him and a couple other friends that were going to ASU, saw a table being set up outside the M.U. with Christians and some brochures. So, being the punk rockers they were, they scrounged a table and set it up next to them and proceeded to dump a garbage can onto the table and sat there next to the Christians answering questions and handing out literature.
Okay, I’m probably done for the night. I go back to my dark, quiet house for the night. It’s fucked up not being able to get online. :blech:
coolness Kristapea. So is Narsissy gay too? Cute? Or reasonably so? I would like a backup in case things don’t work out between Michael Buble and I. He spends to much time on the road and you know those groupies. To much temptation out there. I’m the jealous type!
Night Kristapea . . . if I were a rich man I’d buy you a computer. I donno what I’d do without mine. Prolly go insane I guess.
well, there is R Rescue Me, that I LOVE!!…and the 4400 on USA….Big Brother is on ch 2 at 8….and …um…
Well, Rescue Me is probably the best thing on TV. I love Dennis Leary.
They put out the first season on DVD and I would watch the first season in a heartbeat if I hadnt already ….but I will watch it again when this season is over…I bought it already!
Rescue Me? What is it about Melina? I’ve never heard of it. Any cute guys on it? Maybe I’ll watch LOGO. I really should support the only gay channel I can get here in the heart of the Bible belt.
getting my boarding passes printed and stopped by…
Melina, you got me started on Rescue Me and now I’m a huge fan. I got the 1st and 2nd seasons on DVD (sale at Target). Now mr fk is a fan and he’ll be taking the dvd’s to Baghdad for the guys there. See what you started?!!
btw, I’ve been in WA state helping my mom and dad for a bit and tomorrow I’m off to CO for a week. Feel VERY lucky to get out of the south for part of the summer.
:rofl2:
cnick- you’d LOVE Rescue Me! Lots of MENS naked! :hubba:
Channel please? Prolly just get me all worked up and make me wanna go out on the hunt or surf over to manhunt.net. I really need to settle down with just one man. Michael would be so mad at me if he knew what a slut I am. God help me should he ever find my web site. Good thing us gays can’t get married in Alabama; divorce would be a certainty. I donno why I worry about Michael he’s prolly fucking women. Damn him. How can I compete with that? :holla:
HA! It’s on FX I think. (if that’s wrong it’s Bravo, but I’m pretty sure it’s FX). Tues. nights 10pm est – it’s a regular record at my house.
btw, dear gay friends of ours have been together for almost 20 years and they initially met at Auburn Univ so alabama has possiblities!
Ciao!
Thanks FK! I’ll check it out. Yes, I travel to Auburn/Opelika often for work. There are definitely some fine looking men at AU. Go War Eagle!
Hi, all :knit:
Lucky me, I can’t watch TV until PJ gets back because I can’t figure out how to get the goddam sound back:mad: The universal remote that turns on the fifty million electonic gizmos attached to the goddam TV as at least as many buttons & functions & something got pushed that permanently deleted sound. The three typewritten pages of instructions PJ left were useless because, just like “HELP”, they were of absolutely no help in fixing the problem:doh:
Boy, at least in the old days, any moron (like me) could just turn on the teevee & watch and if ya had a teevee with a clicker, you didn’t even have to get off the couch to change the channel. š Now ya gotta have a damn masters degree just to work the freakin
remote control that works EVERYTHING! Well, the universe is telling me I don’t need no stinkin’ TV and I’m down with that.
:knit:Raging Granny meeting was good. We’re working on a plan to stalk our incumbent Rethuglican congressjerk little Jimmy Walsh and serenade him at as many fundraisers that we can get to. We stood outside the door of the convention center where the local thugs had their annual ball and sang for about an hour while people were walking in & that was pretty interesting. We got a really good glare from our county executive (a rethug) while he walked in with his finery bedecked wife (or whoever the hell she was). Old lady riff raff exercising their first amendment rights is not something these people like to see & we got a lot of smiles from folks who were totally clueless, but stopped to listen to us, & were still clueless. So, now that we have that practice, we thought we’d hit the campaign trail with little Jimmy as often as we can.:knit: Busy times ahead — we’re working on memorizing this one for each event:
We Rage To End All War
(tune Battle Hymn of the Republic … thanks to Granny Vicki Ryder, Rochester Raging Grannies for original lyrics)
We’re the Raging Grannies and we’re here to take a stand
Against the senseless killing raging in Afghanistan,
In Haiti and the Middle East, Iraq and every land,
WE RAGE TO END ALL WAR!!
CHORUS:
WE ARE SICK OF BEING LIED TO!
SICK AND TIRED OF BEING LIED TO
BY GREEDY POLITICIANS WHO MAKE WARS THAT KILL OUR YOUTH
WE RAGE TO END ALL WAR!!
They tell us to be quiet and they throw us into jail,
And though we’re old, we’re fesity and we’re anything but frail!
Inspired by the war resisters, we will all prevail!
WE RAGE TO END ALL WAR!!
NO MORE LIES FROM JIM AND GEORGIE!
WE DEPLORE THEIR WARTIME ORGY!
WITH GRANNY MINDS AND VOICES STRONG,
WE’LL FIGHT WITH ALL OUR MIGHT
UNTIL WE END ALL WAR!!
We stand here in our country wondering at the sad disgrace
That civil liberties can disappear without a trace!
But we have a Bill of Rights that politicians can’t erase!
WE RAGE TO END ALL WAR!!
NO MORE LIES FROM JIM AND GEORGIE!
WE DEPLORE THEIR WARTIME ORGY!
WITH GRANNY MINDS AND VOICES STRONG,
WE’LL FIGHT WITH ALL OUR MIGHT
UNTIL WE END ALL WAR!!
(repeat chorus)
Al Gore coming to Syracuse in Sept and we’ll be out there singing some environment songs in support of his work. So, I guess I have enough to keep me busy so I won’t miss the teevee. … Although, I do like Deadwood and some other stuff. Well, PJ, the Replay TV must have all kinds of stuff on it — lotsa catching up to do!!:alc:

And I got all dressed up (down) so people better show up…

And this’ll be a pretty good rest from the NEWS and DC stuff.
Please?
I can hear my song playing, “Knowing when to leave.” I bid you all a Goodnight from Birmingham, Alabama. We’re not all stupid down here. And we don’t all shit in outdoor toilets. Though there is a lot of shit to contend with. Live long and prosper. Or live long and irritate the piss out of Bush lovers/religious fanatics. :blech:
I would just like to point out that I don’t have a master’s degree, and when i got the touchscreen programmable universal remote, (which i paid a fair amount of $ for, and got because somebody thought that having four or five remotes was unsightly or something, and set it up so that all one has to do is push one or two buttons to get everything turned on or off – though indiscriminitely stabbing multiple buttons repeatedly can have some undesired consequences) I was still lacking an undergrad degree (being a three-time college dropout, and recovering greasemonkey).
On the bright side, I’ve been able to watch the teevee programs from the ReplayTV, even being here 378 miles away.
Well, SOMEBODY is just a SMARTASS:fustrate:

Ah, I missed Kat again!!
cnick, its about FIREMEN…..cute Firemen with all sorts of issues stemming from 911 and before….its well written, well acted and just really great…try to get it on DVD…first 2 seasons…and you will be hooked.
I love Dennis Leary…just cant say enough about him!
Kat, Im so glad that mr is taking it over because its great all in a row like that. I assume that they have seen all the 24’s, right?…because thats another one that I never got into the first couple of years but then got the DVDs and am now a junkie. People get stuck in their houses and cant break away to go to work…Ive seen marriages in trouble because one spouse watched the next episode without waiting for th eother to get home….heh….
RG- you must have the mute hit in one of the modes. Just run through the modes and make sure the mute is not on in any of em….does that sound right PJ?
Its sorta like when one part of your computer gets the mute checked and you cant find which one….but eventually if you look all over and realize that you muted the Realplayer and forgot….well, that solves that.
Ok…now I missed all my shows but am taping them….and maybe I also missed the sedition wake…
Had to talk to grandpa for an hour and then sister and mom…my ear hurts from the phone.
And I didnt even get to publish my thing on the blog yet….
Is the wake still goign on? I couldnt sign in…and probably shouldnt really…

Subject: George and Stanley
George Bush goes to a primary school to talk to the kids .
After his talk he offers question time.
One little boy puts up his hand and George asks him his name.
“Stanley,” responds the little boy.
“And what is your question, Stanley?”
“I have 3 questions. First, why did the USA invade Iraq without the
support of the UN? Second, why are you President when Al Gore got
more votes? And third, whatever happened to Osama Bin Laden?”
Just then, the bell rings for recess. George Bush informs the kiddies that they
will continue after recess.
When they resume George says, “OK, where were we? Oh, that’s right: question
time. Who has a question?”
Another little boy puts up his hand.
George points him out and asks him his name.
“Steve,” he responds.
“And what is your question, Steve?”
“Actually, I have 5 questions. First, why did the USA invade Iraq
without the support of the UN? Second, why are you President when
Al Gore got more votes? Third, whatever happened to Osama Bin Laden?
Fourth, why did the recess bell go off 20 minutes early? And fifth, what the hell happened to Stanley?”
Just downright dangerous….
OK…time for sleep for this tired mama.
I got the thing published finally but its more on lieberman and Lamont….
